Chapter 16 Meeting of Heroes

Class 1-A

"Damn Kirishima, your name is all over the news," Kaminari showed his friend.

"Yeah thanks," Kirishima sheepishly smiled.

"Tsu-chan and Uraraka are there too," Ashido cheered.

"You guys are awesome, making debuts like that," Sato said.

The class continued to compliment the 3 unknowingly pissing off Bakugo who is trying to not have another angry outburst.

"Even if we only get provisional licenses, once we hit the streets we are heroes. It's a remarkable service," Iida praised "But right now a student's job is to study," he shouted.

"Yes sir, Iida we are so ready, right," Kirishima shouted.

"Yeah!" Midoriya shouted.

"Are you guys going to be okay, I mean you're going to be left behind in school," Sero asked.

"Aizawa-sensei said he'll hold supplementary lessons for us," Kirishima told them.

The class went on as normal, except for Midoriya whose thoughts were still on the little girl.

"Ever since that day my mind has been focused on what All Might said, how his and Nighteye's relationship soured, Nighteye wanting Togata-senpai to inherit One for All, I don't understand it, It was then his thoughts went to that of Eri, "and that girl, she keeps appearing in my mind every day,"

"Wow, Kirishima isn't bad taking out a bad guy on his first day," Natsu whistled, impressed.

Gajeel nodded "Yeah, the kid's got spirit. I kinda like that,"

"Uraraka and Asui seemed to be good too," Natsu scrolled through articles and Wendy nodded.

"What about Amajiki-san, is he okay Gajeel-san," Wendy asked.

Gajeel nodded "He's okay, his quirk is working again, and Fat is having the drug he was injected with checked out,"

"I see, that's good Amajiki is okay," Natsu and Wendy signed in relief.

"And what about you Natsu-san, ," Wendy asked.

Natsu signed but smirked "Midoriya is a good kid with a good heart, he's reckless but I know he wants to do the right thing,"

Wendy smiled "He sounds kind of like you,"

"Yeah, but at least he doesn't have a hot-headed temper," Natsu chuckled. "But he needs to learn that some things take time, he can't rush it,"

"Didn't you always solve your problems by just rushing it," Gajeel raised an eyebrow?

Natsu blushed "Shut up, I'm over that phase,"

Gajeel snickered "Yeah sure you are,"

The three then just laughed thinking about the past.

"Oh yeah, did you hear all our agencies are teaming up," Wendy asked?

Both Natsu and Gajeel nodded at this.

"Yeah, Sir told me," Natsu said. "He wanted other agencies' help with the case we've been investigating,"

"I hope everything is okay,"

The Next Morning

"Oh Midoriya you are heading out for work-study too," Kirishima asked.

"Yeah," Midoirya nodded.

"I'll join you, we'll split at the train station," Kirishima smiled.

It was then Uraraka and Tsuyu walked out of the dorms.

"Are you guys heading out too," Uraraka asked, and the two boys nodded?

"We'll join you," Tsuyu said.

"It was rather strange, all four of us who are doing our work-study are heading out at the same time,"

It was then once they arrived at the train station.

"Eh, you're heading there too," Midoriya said, noticing the train station they are all getting on is the same. "Aren't you supposed to go to Kansai,:

"Yeah, but Fat wanted to meet somewhere else," Kirishima answered.

"That's strange, Ryukyu told us to meet somewhere else too," Tsu said.

"Everyone is going on the same train, and going to the same station," Midoriya and the three thought, finding it strange they are going the same way. It was then once they got off the train they started to see something really strange "we walked the same direction, and even turning the same corner,"

After a bit more walking, the four had a surprise run-in, with people they didn't expect.

"Oh, it's you guys," Mirio grinned.

"Why are you guys here," Hado asked.

"This is a strange coincidence," Tamaki said.

"Togata-senpai, Amajiki-senpai, Hado-senpai," they all said.

"Does that mean that also?" Midoriya was then interrupted.

Mirio nodded "Yup, Natsu, Gajeel, and Wendy are here too," he then revealed the three other 3rd years who all looked pretty green.

"They're all still recovering from the train," Hado smiled.

"Hey guys," Natsu groaned.

"Sup," Gajeel tried to act cool.

"Hello," Wendy greeted weakly.

"Woah what happened?" Kirishima asked.

"They all have bad motion sickness," Tamaki answered "We stopped for a bit to let them recover,"

Natsu then burped in his hand "I think we're good now," with Gajeel and Wendy nodding.

The first years now joined by the group of six third years continued their way, all finding it weird they are heading the same direction. They all reached their destination, a large building, and once they entered they were greeted by a group of pro heroes.

"Wow so many pros are here," Kirishima said.

Midoriya looked around and saw someone he recognizes "Gran Torino, Aizawa-sensei,"

"Hey kid, sorry we have to see each other under these circumstances," Gran Torino greeted, Aizawa was shocked as well seeing his students here.

"Fat," Gajeel, Kirishima, and Tamaki said.

"Hey kids, you're doing well," Fatgum smiled.

"Hey, Ryukyu what's going on," Hado jumped on her mentor.

"Calm down Nejire, everything we'll be explained," Ryukyu smiled.

"Does this have to do with what you mentioned a few days ago," Wendy asked, and Ryukyu nodded.

"Aizawa-sensei, why are you here too," Tsuyu asked.

"I should be asking you, kids, that, I know the rough details but that's it's it," Aizawa told them.

"There are so many pros gathered here today," Midoriya said, shocked.

"Just what the hell is going on," Natsu wondered.

"Nighteye, now that everyone is here can we start," Ryukyu asked.

Nighteye nodded "Yes, now that everyone is here we can officially start the meeting. I would like to thank all of you for the information you have gathered. We made great strides in our investigation. We will conduct a conference to discuss our information, and find out what the Shie Hassakai is planning,"

"Hassai what?" Kirishima said "Sorry, but I don't understand,"

"They're a group that plans on doing something bad, you guys are important to it as well," Fat told him.

The group of pros and students all sat at the conference table, and Bubble girl showed and explained the reasons for their investigations.

"For the past two weeks, our agency has been conducting an investigation against the small yakuza group known as the Shie Hassaikai," Bubble Girl announced.

"What sparked this investigation,"

"A robber group knowns as Reservoir Dogs, Police wrote it off as an accident, but they were inconsistencies in the investigation,"

"Under Nighteye's orders have come across some leads, the organization has been making extensive contacts with outsiders and underworld dealers throughout this past year, they seem to want to expand their influence and gain funds," Centipeder explained "And as of recently the young head had made contact with League of Villains' Twice. They were wary of being tailed so we couldn't follow, but when police arrived on the scene there was evidence of a battle,"

"The league huh? So that's why you called me, and Tsukauchi," Gran Torino said.

"Where is detective Tsukauchi,"

"Following up some leads," Gran Torino told them. He turned to Midoriya "Kid, let's hope it doesn't come to this, you might get dragged into something nasty,"

"It's no trouble," Midoriya told him.

"Oh friend of yours," Mirio smiled.

Midoriya nodded "Yeah from my internship,"

"Cool," Natsu smirked.

"Continue," Nighteye said.

"So given the development, we reached out to others with HN," Bubble Girl continued.

"HN?" Uraraka asked.

"Hero Network," Wendy told them.

"It's basically social media for pro heroes only, you can see what other pros are doing and send in requests for help," Hado explained.

"Anyway, why are a bunch of UA kids here, they'll just get in the way," Rocklock said.

"Nonsense," Fatgum stood up "These three are proven to be valuable assets,"

"Eh, Us," Kirishima blinked.

"Please don't look at me," Tamaki looked down.

"Oh right I didn't introduce myself," Fat smiled "I'm FatGum,"

"So cute," Uraraka and Tsuyu smiled.

"We suspect Hassakai is dealing with illegal drugs which is why I called Fat," Nighteye explained his presence.

"I dealt with a lot of drug dealers back in the day, during Red's fight he went against someone who used the trigger drug," Fat said. "But the one Tamaki was injected with was different, he was hit with a drug that destroys quirks,"

"A drug that destroys quirks?"

"Tamaki, are you okay," Mirio stood up worried.

Tamaki nodded and showed a cow hoof "Yes, I'm fine to see this cow hoof,"

"So he recovered, that's a relief at least it's not fatal," Rocklock smirked.

"Now, Eraser, your thoughts," Nighteye asked.

"Hmm,, it seems different than my Erasure, I don't attack the quirk, I merely deactivate a person's quirk factor," Aizawa shared.

"We got Tamaki checked out, the hospital said his quirk factor was damaged, luckily his body's natural healing repaired the damage," Fat continued. "We had the drug analyzed but it didn't do anything harmful to Tamaki, but the gangster who shot it had his gun broken, and it seemed we came up empty handed, but luckily a bullet that bounced off of Kirishima as still intact,"

"EH Me," Kirishima shouted.

"Wow good job Kirishima," Uraraka smiled.

"So cool," Tsuyu smiled.

"Hardening right? Wow, your quirk is just like Gajeel's" Hado said,

"Hmm," Gajeel scoffed "The kid got lucky,"

"And once we finished the analysis," Fatgum turned serious "We found something truly disgusting,"

"They found human cells and blood in the drug,"

The students' faces all turned to that of shock and horror.

"Human cells," Uraraka shivered.

"Scary," Tsuyu said.

Natsu's eyes went widened "no it can't be,"

"So the drug is made from someone's quirk, a quirk that destroys quirk," Ryukyu said.

"Um, I kinda lost how does Hassakai connect to all this,"

"You see, although Kirishima caught the guy, figuring out how he got the drug was tricky," Fat said. "There is a large network of drug distributors out there and middlemen and there's a possibility Hassakai made contact with one of them,"

"I and my group also encountered a group who used the trigger drug, and we haven't narrowed down where they got it," Ryukyu added.

"Nighteye what makes you so sure Hassakai is responsible,"

"Their young head Chisaki Kai has a quirk known as Overhaul," Nighteye explained "It allows him to both dismantle and restore living and nonliving things,"

Natsu's, Mirio's, and Midoriya's eyes all went wide and in horror realizing what this meant, their thoughts immediately went to that of Eri-chan.

"My three students encountered Chisaki recently and found out he has a daughter with no birth records we can find," Nighteye explained. "They say she was covered in bandages,"

"No it can't be," Ryukyu said.

"That's a superhuman society for ya, anything is possible," Gran Torino looked down.

"What, what're we imaging," Kirishima questioned.

Rocklock signed "Toldja these kids didn't need to be here, you see kid, he's saying this Chisaki guy is turning his daughter's body into bullets, and sell them on the black market,"

The first and third years were all wide-eyed in horror, especially Natsu, Mirio, and Midoriya.

"We are still uncertain, if he's selling it or not, given that the effects of the drug now are underwhelming, but if it's in a testing phase and he's distributing it to attract followers," Nighteye said. "We still lack evidence, but he's bringing followers from all over the country and amassing followers. If the final version of that drug is complete and able to permanently erase quirks then hero society will fall,"

Fat stood up "That makes my stomach turn, lets kick this guy's doors down,"

Rocklock scoffed "It would have been easier if those 3 kids actually grabbed the girl and fled,"

That statement made Mirio, Midoriya, and Natsu clench their fist.

"I take full responsibility for this, don't blame them, they didn't know the extent of the circumstances but those three took precautions to save the girl," Nighteye stated. "Midioriya accepted the risk to save the girl at that moment, Mirio and Natsu made a decision to analyze the situation to save the girl at a later time,"

"Some greatest hero I would never make.." Midoriya clenched his fist.

"How can I save a million, when I can't save one," Mirio grinds his teeth.

"damn it, if I let myself leave someone who is in pain, then how could I be…" Natsu felt his anger rising.

"This time for sure," the three stood up with determined looks.

"We will save her," they said in unison.

"That is our goal," Nighteye said.

"Mirio," Tamaki said.

"Natsu-san," Wendy thought.

"Tch, that's assuming the girl is still alive," Rocklock scoffed. "If your guesses are correct, then that leader sees the girl as the crux of his plan and is worth hiding, and if she got out then she was probably hidden away somewhere else, would you go back to the same place after being spotted I wouldn't,"

Ryukyu nodded " Rock makes a point,"

Nighteye nodded "That is an issue, we won't know if they moved her location or not, if we're found out then we lose our chance," it was then a map popped up behind him "The Hassakai seem to have dealings in the locations, I am asking each of you to check these locations and help narrow down the list,"

"So that's why you ask us minor pros to help, there's a connection near each of our home territories since we know the area you called us,"

"For being All Might's former sidekick you're rather cautious," Fat shouted "While we are twiddling our thumbs then little Eri-chan is probably crying her eyes out for someone to save her,"

"We can't do things the All Might way," Nighteye told him/ "We need to rely on analysis and precaution to raise our odds of saving the girl,"

Gran Torino nodded "We can't rush things, if we mess up then we lose our chance,"

"You guys overthink everything, just sitting around leaves us at a dead-end," Fat shouted.

"Nighteye, a question," Aizawa raised his hand "If you are having trouble finding their base, then why don't you use your Foresight on one of us, if you can see the future then you can find their base with one of us correct,"

Nighteye looked down "I can't, my ability has a limit once activated. I have a 24-hour cooldown, to summarize I can only witness an hour of a person's life for a day," he explained. "They appear to me like a film, and then it plays to the perspective of the person I touch, all I see is their actions and faint glimpses of their surroundings,"

"That doesn't sound too bad so why can't you do it," Aizawa asked.

Nighteye covered his face "Well for one thing, what if in the near future what awaits that person was death, a cruel and merciless death, then what,"

"Is he talking about All Might?" Midoriya thought.

"I've trained my quirk to maximize the success rate of every action I make, I use it to ensure victory, it's not something to use recklessly," Nighteye told him.

"You know seeing when you die can be useful, we can come up with plans to stay alive," Rocklock said.

"I am not a fortune teller," Nighteye said. "And there's no guarantee you can escape fate,"

"I don't get it Nighteye, Come on come and look into my future and I'll show you I can beat fate," Rocklock told him.

"I can't," Nighteye shouted, and everyone just froze at the outburst.

Ryukyu signed "Why don't we calm down and plan, a little girl needs our help,"

Nighteye stood and slammed his hands on his desk, "Confirm the girl's location and take measures to save her, once we're sure as we can be, lets bring this matter to a swift end," he bowed "Thank you all for your help,"

Outside Meeting Room

"Damn it," Natsu punched the wall.

"Natsu-san," Wendy said.

Midoriya and Mirio were doing much better either, all three of them felt guilty over the choice they made.

"This kind of thing must hurt man," Kirishima tried to comfort Midoriya.

"Deku-kun," Uraraka muttered.

"It's my first time seeing these two like this," Tamaki thought.

Gajeel scoffed "So you fucked up, get over it, we'll save the brat,"

"Gajeel," Tamaki, Hado, and Wendy signed.

"What," Gajeel said.

It was then Aizawa entered the room, "You guys seem bum,"

"Sensei," Tsuyu looked up.

"Outside of school, call me Eraser," Aizawa told them. "Besides, I came to talk to put your work studies on hold,"

"What! Why we just had this big bombshell dropped on us," Kirishima shouted "And you want us to sit back,"

"You heard them, the League could be involved which makes things different," Aizawa said and he looked at Midoriya "And Midoriya you still haven't won my trust back yet,"

"Eh," Midoriya blinked and he remembered what happened weeks prior.

Aizawa then kneeled down to him "But I know I can't stop you, you'll go even if I say not to." he then bumped Midoriya's chest with his fist "That's why I'll watch over you. Let's try to do things right this time, Midoriya,"

"Hey Mirio, keep your chin up," Tamaki told them.

"Yeah, You've got regrets, you're feeling down, but that's just how it is sometimes," Hado smiled

"Yeah," Mirio wiped his nose.

"Natsu-san you shouldn't feel down, you did what you thought was best," Wendy told him.

Gajeel then smacked Natsu, shocking the others "the kids right, don't feel glum over one fuck up you hear. What the scumbag is doing to his kid is unforgivable, and we're going to save that brat you hear,"

"Yeah," Natsu said. "I feel all fired up now,"

Aizawa signed at the behavior of the 3rd years and he turned back to Midoriya "You know if it makes you feel better, you gave that girl hope, so stand up,"

Midoriya nodded "Yes sir,

"Sensei," Uraraka smiled.

"It's Eraser outside school," Aizawa said.

"Eraserhead, I'll follow you till the ends of the earth," Kirishima shouted.

"Pipe down," Aizawa ordered.

"Sorry," Kirishima bowed.

Mirio smiled and stood up "Midoriya-kun, Natsu, let's save Eri-chan this time," he held his fist out, Both Natsu and Midoriya smiled as well and three bumped his fist.

"Yeah, We'll definitely save her," Midoriya smiled.\

"So you sent Midoriya to help All Might and me make up," Nighteye asked Gran Torino.

"Well, I thought it could give you guys the chance too," Gran Torino answered. "When you're old you think of useless stuff, so what do you think of him,"

"They're very similar, right down to the madness living deep inside All Might that I couldn't understand," Nighteye answered. "They're similar to a fault,"

Hassakai Base

Eri was cowering in her bed, after her current attendant left her alone, and she thought back to the day she was in Midoriya's arms. "He felt so different, he approached me differently than others his hands weren't cold,"

"They felt so kind,"
