Percy stood at the top of the hill and looked down at the camp . Thalia's tree stood near him guarding the camp with Peleus protecting the golden fleece which was glowing under the bright morning sunlight . Percy scratched Peleus under his chin who lazily opened his eyes and closed it after confirming who it is .
He entered the camp and was greeted by the strawberry smell from the fields , he inhaled it deeply and sighed wistfully .
Percy walked through the camp and noticed no one was there so he guessed they must be in the mess hall . When he entered the mess hall , he was greeted by a hug from Chiron who was standing near the entrance in his centaur form who must have heard him with his horse years " Percy , my boy . It's good to have you here " .
Percy said with a smile hugging his mentor who is like a second father figure to him " It's good to be here Chiron " .
When they both pulled back Percy noticed the whole dining hall is now silent and all the new campers were looking at him with eyes which is filled with admiration and awe on seeing the Hero Of Olympus . He noticed his friends are standing behind Chiron with big smiles on their faces .
He stepped forwarded and was immediately attacked by hugs and pats from his friends even Clarisse patted him with a smile on her face .
Percy saw even the hunters of Artemis were for the celebration , when Thalia hugged Percy the new hunters glared at him while the old hunters who knew about him gave Percy a nod of acknowledgement surprising Percy .
Once everyone were seated Chiron walked to the middle of the mess hall " Campers and hunters, during a year ago we had lost many of our family and friends but their brave sacrifices did not end in vain . We had won the war despite everything the Titan Lord threw at us . We had won due to the bravery of our fallen comrades and the ones who are alive . In my thousands of years I can proudly say this is the Golden Age of Demigods where the children are claimed and are sorted into the cabins of their godly parent instead of being in Hermes' cabin . Fortunately the birthday of the hero who is responsible for the golden age of the Demigods also falls in the day in which the titan lord was defeated, which is the reason why we are celebrating this day in such a grand manner . I know new campers have many questions for our hero and I think Percy will answer them " .
Percy looked at Chiron blankly on hearing this who had a twinkle in his eyes clearly saying Chiron is messing with him .
Percy looked around his friends who were all looking at him with huge grins on their faces .
Percy hissed at Grover " You know this " .
" What do I know ? " Grover asked innocently
" The new campers are going to question "
" Maybe " Grover said with a grin .
" G-man you know I am very bad in this " Percy said with a glare .
When Grover said nothing Percy sighed knowing he has to do this . He turned towards the newbies who were looking at him expectantly . Percy said nervously " shoot " .
As soon as he said that Percy wished he could take that back . He was bombarded by questions from all sides , he couldn't even hear a single word due to their loud noises . Annoyed by the noises Percy blew a loud taxi cab whistle silencing everyone .
" Just one question is enough " Percy said in a stern tone avoiding any protests .
Soon a small voice said " How can be a great hero like you ? "
Percy looked around saw it was Sophie who asked the question .
He asked curiously " What do you mean by that ? "
She said shyly " I had heard you are one of the most powerful demigod if not the most powerful demigod . You are the Hero Of Olympus . You had done many accomplishments , you had defeated Gods, Titans and monsters . You had been granted godhood . I had seen the hellhounds flee on seeing you . So how can be a hero like you without fear ? " .
At the question everyone including his friends and hunters leaned forward looking at him expectantly . Percy said slowly for everyone to understand " Well you see I am not someone without fear " surprising younger demigods who thought the hero of Olympus is not someone who has fear " My greatest fear before the war was choosing a wrong decision which results in destroying the lives of my friends , gods and the whole world " He saw many of his friends looking at him with a sad smile on their faces especially Clarisse who gave him a small smile , she had known about his fear after the incident with Phobos and Deimos .
" If you have to be a hero first you have to understand the meaning of hero . A hero is not someone who fights fearlessly , killing monsters , defeating titans and all . A hero is someone who puts his fear aside and puts others before themselves . You may call me as a Hero Of Olympus but it is not true . Everyone who fought in the war are the Heroes of Olympus , it doesn't matter whether they were nymphs, satyrs , Cyclopes , demigods . They all sacrificed their lives and were ready to sacrifice their lives for the world . Every deceased comrades and those who are now alive with us are the Heroes Of Olympus without the help of whom the Golden Age of Demigods would not have been born " Percy finished .
As soon as he finished Clarisse was the first to clap which was followed by the other older and newer demigods and even the hunters but the loudest of them was Chiron who was looking at his greatest student with happy tear filled eyes proud of the hero and mostly the great man he had become .
-TIME SKIP-
Percy was sitting at the beach enjoying the cool sea breeze brushing his cheeks and the smell of salt air covering the whole area a like a blanket . He had just arrived here after the celebration but Percy has a feeling he is going to celebrate his birthday party here .
He smiled sadly thinking exactly a year ago he was like a walking zombie after loosing Annabeth but he is now recovered from it thanks to Hermione and his friends . His thoughts were interrupted by a voice saying " Can I join you ? "
Percy opened his eyes and was met by sea green eyes identical to his . He saw is father who is wearing Hawaiian shirt and bermuda shorts giving him a lopsided grin which he inherited from his father along with many other things .
" Sure " Percy said with a smile gesturing to the place near him . It has been a year since he saw his father . The last time he saw him was after the war when he hugged Percy comforting him for Annabeth's death .
He had seen his father only four or five times which cannot be said to other demigods who may have not seen their godly parent for a single time .
Poseidon sat near him and he could feel intensity of the cool sea breeze rising causing Percy to smile wistfully clearly enjoying it .
" How are you son ? " Poseidon asked looking at him .
" Fine I guess " Percy shrugged .
Both stared at the beach in front of them where the waves are rolling gently . After a moment or two Poseidon said still looking at the beach " Hades said about your mission " .
" Oh " Percy said not knowing what to reply . He doesn't know what to say for that .
" I think I cannot convince you to stay safe " Poseidon said quietly .
" Yep . You couldn't do it . I will help them . They are my family like demigods . I am not only a demigod but also a wizard . I cannot leave them to face a dangerous power seeking noseless wizard " Percy said confidently not having a doubt in what he said . He meant every word of it .
" I expected it " Poseidon said with a nod .
" If you expected it , then why you even ask about it in first place " Percy asked annoyed with his father for asking even when he knew what the response will be .
" Just because I know doesn't mean I can't try " Poseidon said with a shrug " You are the only demigod son I had in many decades . Besides you already experienced difficulties more than any demigod. I just want you to be happy " .
Percy's annoyance turned into a warm feeling in his chest seeing how his father cared about him. He said with a smile " I am happy now dad . I mean it . True I had a shitty life but I will live it again and again if my loved ones can stay safe " .
Poseidon looked at Percy giving a warm smile to his son " You know when you were offered Godhood I was happy beyond imagination thinking you will live with me in my palace and we can have some father son bonding without any ancient laws but at the same time I know you will not accept it . As much as I hate to see you live a difficult life , I cannot change that . It is who you are . A true leader who puts others needs before themselves . That's why you are my favorite son not just because of your skills and accomplishments . I cannot expect a better child than you .I love you Percy . I am proud of the man you have become now and I mean every word I said now " .
Percy's eyes welled with tears on hearing that . Without a second thought Percy threw himself at his father wrapping his arms around him , trying to control the happy tears , that are threatening to fall . Poseidon simply held his son patting his back . He had missed a huge part of Percy's life but this time even his brother could not stop him from spending some time with his son if Percy need him . If his brother have a problem with that , well he will know why he is called as the most dangerous god by the Romans .
Percy pulled back after a few moments wiping the tears and said with a bright smile " Thank you dad . It means a lot to me " .
Poseidon could sense the demigods are on their way to invite Percy for the party so he said quickly " Well Happy birthday Percy " .
" Thanks dad " .
"Finally , here are your presents " Poseidon said summoning three gifts which were wrapped by golden , blue and sea green wrappers .
Percy picked them up from his father and curiously asked " From whom these gifts are ? "
" That is from Apollo " Poseidon said motioning towards the one wrapped by golden wrapper . Percy nodded knowing Apollo is the one who uses flashy colors .
" This is from Hermes " . As soon as he said that Percy looked at his father with a bewildered expression . " Why would Hermes give me a present when I am the one who killed his son " .
Poseidon gave him a sad smile " Sometimes being dead is better than being possessed by father, Percy . Hermes knows that , besides he is not someone who holds grudges . You are the reason why his cabin is now not overcrowded . He owes you for that " .
Percy didn't know what to say so he settled with " Wow " .
Poseidon chuckled at his son's reaction and said " And finally that is from me " motioning towards the final one .
" What is this ? " Percy asked Poseidon gesturing towards the gift .
Poseidon gave him his signature wink " It is something I should have given you long ago . But I am sure you will love that . I have not given it to any of my demigod children " .
Percy's interest perked up on hearing this causing him to wonder what the present will be .
Poseidon said " It is my time to leave " .Percy couldn't help but be disappointed on hearing that but he gave his father a forced smile " It's okay dad . Good bye " .
Poseidon sensing his son's disappointment gave him a final hug and said " Happy birthday son. Remember I will always love you " disappearing in a blue mist leaving Percy with a warm smile on his face .
-TIME SKIP-
It was the midnight the next day when he arrived at the Grimmauld place so he noticed everyone was asleep. When he walked past the kitchen he heard the sound of pages being turned . He curiously looked inside wondering who may be reading during the midnight and was not surprised to see his girlfriend sitting near the fireplace with a book in her lap .
He tiptoed near her and said softly " Hey " not wanting to startle her . She looked up from the book and smiled tiredly " Hello Percy " with a yawn .
He frowned and sat near her tucking a strand of hair behind her ear " Why are you awake when you are clearly tired ? "
She leaned into his shoulder and said " For you " .
" For me ? " Percy asked wondering what she is saying .
" Yeah . I wanted to give you this for your birthday " Hermione said taking a box wrapped by a gift wrapper from her side .
" You know you don't want to give me right ? " Percy asked with amusement .
" Nope . You are my boyfriend " She said shaking her head with a yawn " Now shut up and open this " .
" Yes ma'am " . When he opened the gift he was surprised to see a beautiful blue sea glass bracelet in it . He took the bracelet from the box and examined it . It was made up of blue sea glass connected by a string . It is simple at the same time it is beautiful .
Percy looked at Hermione who was now expectantly looking at him with the traces of sleep vanished from her eyes . He leaned forward and captured her soft pink lips with his , Hermione looped her arms around his neck pulling Percy closer to her .
Once the both parted apart due to the lack of breathe Hermione asked panting but with a smile on her face " So do you like it ? "
" I love it " Percy confirmed by pecking Hermione on her lips . He took the bracelet and slid it into his wrist marveling its beauty .
Hermione leaned into him placing her head on his shoulder " So what happened in the camp ? "
Percy wrapped his arms around her small shoulder , pulling her closer to him and started to describe everything. When he told he had received gifts from Gods she looked surprised .
" What are those gifts ? " Hermione asked curiously wondering what those gifts maybe .
Percy chuckled and pulled out a golden colored I pod from his bag and showed it to Hermione " This is from Apollo . It contains nearly all songs and even if any new albums were released it will update automatically .Even if I lost this or accidentally broke this which may happen a lot considering my luck , the I pod will be automatically replaced " .
Hermione took it from Percy and examined it . It looked like an ordinary I pod, no will even know it was a gift from a God . But Hermione knew appearances are deceptive , like her boyfriend sitting in front her who may be calm , kind and gentle but if he becomes angry well terrific will be an understatement , remembering the furious expression on his face when Malfoy tried to attack Harry last year .
Hermione returned it to Percy and teased " Well do you have Apollo's famous haikus here ?" .
" Don't even joke about it . He is awful in haikus for a God of poetry and music " Percy said with a shudder " Thank Gods there are no haikus in the I pod " .
Hermione chuckled at his terrified expression wondering how terrible Apollo's haiku's must be to make Percy to shudder who was not even afraid of the Dark Lord . Then he took a credit card from his pocket " It is from Hermes . It has unlimited money , I can use it for anything . It's not like I need this but it is a useful one " .
"What did your father gave ? " Hermione asked curiously thinking what the god of sea could have given to his son .
Hermione saw Percy became nervous and he looked like he was debating with himself but he finally told in a serious tone " Don't tell about this to anyone . No one except Chiron , Thalia , Nico and Grover know about this gift " . Hermione nodded with a confused expression .
Percy stood up and rotated a bronze ring on his index finger which Hermione had not noticed until now . When he rotated it two times , the ring transformed into a seven foot beautiful bronze trident with its three sharp prongs which Hermione was sure will impale through anything like a knife smoothly impaling butter . But what amazes Hermione was the aura rolling from the trident . The aura was greater than anything she had ever seen . She could feel scent of sea from it like it is containing an sea inside .
She don't know what to say on seeing this trident . She wondered whether this a godly weapon or not on seeing the aura of the weapon . She thought this is how Poseidon must look like on seeing Percy with the trident in his hand and a regal look in his handsome face and the sea green eyes that is both gentle and destructive like sea . She was brought out of her thoughts by Percy chuckling " I know it right . I too had the same look on seeing this at first " .
Hermione exclaimed after regaining her composure " Is it a godly weapon because it certainly looks like it considering the aura rolling from it " . Percy shook his head " No . This is not a godly weapon but it's the most powerful weapon a demigod had ever used " .
" What ? " Hermione asked with confusion not knowing what he is speaking about .
"See " Percy said rising pointing the weapon at the corner of the kitchen , soon a jet of water came from it drenching the whole corner .
" Wow " Hermione said in amazement . " Wait a minute , still I have more tricks " Percy said pointing the trident at the same corner . This time the water withdrew into trident leaving the place dry " .
Hermione looked dumbfounded on seeing that . She tried to wrap her mind around it while Percy change the trident into the bronze ring form with sea green wave like engravings on it , sitting near her .
Once she put herself together she asked curiously " What other tricks do you have ? "
Percy said playing with the bracelet making her to smile involuntarily " I don't know what other things the trident can do but I can create earthquakes and hurricanes with it . But the feeling is different than creating them without it .While using the trident I can create earthquakes at places where I want to create rather than doing a large scale destruction without the control of my own power ".
Hermione pondered over it for a moment and said thoughtfully " Maybe that's why your father gave the trident , you know to tune your powers " .
Percy smiled at Hermione " This is what exactly Chiron said but other than that he himself don't know anything . He said it was the first time a demigod received a weapon of such power " .
" I exactly don't know why dad gave it to me " Percy said quietly .
" Because you deserve it " Hermione said . " Do you believe I deserve such a weapon ? " Percy asked with doubt . " I believe it and I know it " Hermione said with confirmation causing Percy to smile at his girlfriend gratefully and kissing her to show how much he is grateful for her support and help .
Both of them were lost in their world kissing each other passionately not noticing the image of a nine year old smiling girl in the fireplace who was silently squealing with joy on seeing her nephew happy eventhough she knew the happiness will not last for a long time , since the Hero Of Olympus still has many difficulties to face in his life .
Many may think Percy is OP on getting the trident from his father with awesome powers but everything will be revealed in later chapters so don't come into conclusions .
