Explosion Series: A Simple Day Out- 1
"It really is cold today...as if we're...trapped...in ice."
Chris pulled away from the hug, smiling at Kazuma.
"I can't believe it! The scum, Kazuma, has changed and is no longer willing to sexually harass goddesses! Hmm, maybe I should get someone to pinch me to make sure I'm not dreaming!", Chris said, once again giggling.
"Yes, yes. I have lost a major part of my identity. It is only understandable that you'd be surprised. Anyway, let's get back to Megumin. We were supposed to be on a date but you came, so I suppose you could join us."
"Ah, really? I've been a bit lonely since Darkness left so I don't mind, though I hope I'm not intruding!"
Kazuma started walking back out of the alley, and said,"Nah, not at all! I have a feeling Megumin would appreciate it if we all went out as friends!"
Chris did a small 'yippee!' pose, and then walked back towards Megumin with Kazuma.
Megumin turned towards them, and waved. "Oh, is Chris joining us? This is a brilliant opportunity to get to know each other better! Chris, you should accompany us on our way to my daily explosion! You can watch the mighty power of the greatest spell in the world, and be awed by the terrible destructive power of the EXPLOSION OF THE GREATEST ARCH WIZARD IN AXEL, MEGUMIN!"
Kazuma and Chris glanced at each other and then chuckled a bit. Kazuma patted Megumin's head and then held her hand, walking forward while beckoning to Chris to join them. Chris was surprised- she had a slight suspicion that he'd grope her or something, and that his apology was a front. But they did truly love each other. She smiled inside, glad that Kazuma had finally found someone to love, and to settle down with. She really was proud of him for changing this much.

"EXXXXXXPLOOOOOOOOOOSION!", shouted Megumin, releasing a devastating blast of mana that ripped through the landscape, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake. A massive plume of dust rose up into the sky, a testament to the sheer force of the Explosion spell.
And the petite young girl who had cast the spell of pure power fell onto the lap of her boyfriend.
"Kazuma Kazuma!"
"Yes I'm Kazuma."
"How many points was that explosion?"
"Hmmm… I could feel the pressure of the Explosion pretty well, but I felt like you controlled the pressure to ensure that it didn't blow too much dust on all three of us. That requires an extremely skillful control over the spell. Moreover, I notice how the dust is rising up in the shape of a heart which again is cute and I love you for that, you adorable explosion maniac. For your consideration and your display of love for that, I give this Explosion… 105 POINTS! Nice bakuretsu, Megumin.", Kazuma said while petting Megumin.
Megumin immediately smiled, leaned into his hand and then put her thumb up, exclaiming," Nice bakuretsu, Kazuma." She chose not to mention the 'adorable explosion maniac' compliment, because she didn't want to embarrass him.
Chris meanwhile looked on while blushing at the intense PDA. Moreover, she was surprised that Kazuma understood the intricacies of the spell so well. She knew he wasn't just lying to sound cool, because as she realized, he was 100% correct.
"Kazuma, how do you know so much about this spell?!", asked Chris in shock.
Kazuma slowly got up, and then gave Megumin a piggyback ride. He then chuckled in a superior way and told her," There is very little about this spell I don't understand. After all, watching the absolute cutest and prettiest person in the world with the best eyes and hair cast this spell day after day, to the point that she annihilated the demon king's top general with just this spell does something, you know. In fact, I can even cast this spell myself. Megumin, do you have a top-grade mana...why are both of you staring at me? Did I say something weird?"
Chris then giggled once again, before telling him just what he had called Megumin. Kazuma immediately blushed profusely and turned his head away. Megumin was planning to ignore this one too, because she knew he'd die of embarrassment in front of Chris, but the damage had been dealt. Now, all she could do was aggravate the damage.
"Awwwww, Kazuma finds my hair and my eyes the best in the worldddd? How very cute. You're not too bad yourself, you know. But I am flattered to know how much you love me.", Megumin said while giving him a peck on his cheeks that were turning redder and redder by the second.
Chris then began to laugh out loud, and Kazuma had had it. He put Megumin down and then turned away from both of them, covering his face with his hands while crouching. Megumin too bursts out laughing, though she was on the floor and immobile. Kazuma then said through his covered face, without turning around,"I refuse to carry you t-today!"
Chris then finally got over her laughing fit, and picked Megumin up instead. While getting up, however, Megumin accidentally hit her pocket, which caused a particular mask to fall out.
Megumin apologized but stopped halfway through when she realized just what the mask was.
"A black mask meant to disguise you… silver hair...thief...works with a male of average build with dark hair…", she continued thinking at full speed. You could almost hear the gears in her head turning as she used her brain to come to a conclusion.
As soon as she came to the conclusion, she gasped. She turned towards Chris and then Kazuma, who was still hiding his face. She gasped once again, and then began to scream. Kazuma whipped around, worried someone had hurt Megumin, but then saw the mask.
"OH. MY. GOD. YOU TWO ARE. OH MY GOD. YOU TWO- Y-YOU TWO ARE THE SILVER HAIRED CHIVALROUS THIEVES. OH MY GODDDD. BOTH OF YOU WERE MY INSPIRATION. MY MOTIVATION TO DO GOOD. OH MY GOD.", Megumin began to scream excitedly. Chris and Kazuma looked at each other uneasily, unsure of what to do next.
"Didn't she already know this in a spin-off manga or something similar, Kazuma?", Chris whispered to him while Megumin was busy fangirling.
"What are you talking about? Spin-off manga?", Kazuma asked, wondering if he was a protagonist in an isekai comedy and if his life was a lie, used for the entertainment of the people.
"Spin-off manga? I asked something else entiRELY- WOAH!", Chris said before being pushed due to Megumin pushing herself on the ground. Megumin then got up with the help of her staff.
"You two...you are the ones I have been looking for all this while."
She then sighed and bowed, before introducing herself.
"MY NAME IS MEGUMIN, THE MIGHTIEST AND GREATEST ARCHWIZARD IN THE CRIMSON DEMON CLAN AND AXEL. I WIELD THE EXPLOSION SPELL AND LAY WASTE TO MY ENEMIES WITH ITS BRUTE FORCE. I HAVE GIVEN YOU A FAN LETTER BEFORE, AND I AM YOUR ABSOLUTE GREATEST SUPPORTER. MY LOVE FOR YOUR COOLNESS IS EXPLOSIVE BEYOND COMPARE! I AM PLEASED TO MAKE YOUR ACQUAINTANCE, CHIVALROUS DUO, MEMBERS OF THE SILVER HAIRED THIEVING GROUP."
Kazuma and Chris looked at her bowing form, at a loss for words. Her explosive 'confession' had rendered them speechless. Just what could they do now?
