This is my very 1st fanfiction, still trying to find my own writing style. I know it comes off a bit more scripty, in part due to my own experiences with small film and stage productions. Please bear with it, hopefully it'll be easy enough to read. As far as timelines go, it takes place AFTER the Danny Phantom finale movie Phantom Planet and BEFORE Season 5 of MHA. Hope you enjoy!

Prologue

It's 10:30 pm at an airport in Japan. 2 police officers and their superior wait in the terminal, watching the flow of travelers leaving. One of them looks at his watch. "You think he missed his flight?" He addresses the man standing with them, who turns his beagle head towards his subordinate.

"Unlikely, woof. An associate of his from overseas already called ahead to confirm he boarded, just keep a sharp lookout. You still have his description?" "And a photo, sir," says the officer.

"Very good. I'm sure he's anxious to leave after such a long flight, but we gave our assurances that he would be brought to the campus without incident." The other officer looks up at him. "You're expecting trouble, Chief?" "His transfer over has been kept secret, but once word gets out over U.A's newest student, it's possible he may attract some unwanted attention. I gave my word as Police Chief that I'd personally see that he's safely brought to the Academy."

"You think the League might try something?" The Chief scans the crowd again. "I'd rather be prepared and have nothing than be unprepared and have a situation. Given the young man's achievements, it's only a matter of time before word gets out that he's here."

A hand taps his shoulder. "Excuse me, are you Chief Tsuragamae?" The Chief turns to regard the questioner. "Yes, can I help y- Oh! It's you! Apologies, you look different from what I was told." His eyes briefly examine the young man before him. He has jet black hair, blue eyes, and dressed in jeans and a black hoodie. There's a suitcase in his hand with a green label.

"Back at ya," the stranger responds. "I was told what to expect, but it's still kinda weird. No offense, just don't have any folks back home walking around with, y'know, dog heads." The Chief chuckles, "That's quite alright, it's a bit of culture shock I imagine."

"A little, but I'm used to seeing stuff like this. As for my appearance, I'm kinda easy to spot back home, so I wanted to keep a low profile while on the plane," he says. "Fair enough, woof. Well in any case, arrangements have been made for you to stay on campus at the dorms while you're here. You'll meet your new classmates tomorrow morning."

The stranger picks up his bag. "Cool, this should be a fun vacation!" The Chief is somewhat puzzled. "Vacation?" he asks.

"Yeah, ever since what happened back home, things were getting pretty crazy. And honestly, compared to my old school, ANYTHING is a vacation. I just wish I could've brought my friends with me."

One of the officers grunts, somewhat amused. "Hmph, we'll see. You may find this school's curricular more demanding than you think." The Chief interjects, "Speaking of which, I must inform you, while you're used to a certain way of doing things in America, Japan is much stricter on such activities. Any crime fighter must be a registered pro. Given your, shall we say, 'unique' history, you'll be granted a temporary provisional license following a brief examination. You may assist in times of natural disaster and are allowed to stop crimes in progress should you come across one, but this is still foreign land to you, so I wouldn't recommend doing so until you become familiar with the area."

The boy rolls his eyes. "Yeah, yeah. I got a whole lecture from the Guys in White before I got on the plane. I'm here for the lame school stuff." The Chief nods, "I'm simply doing my duty and ensuring you're given the official warning. But now that it's been said, allow me be the first to formally welcome you to Musutafu, Mr. Fenton." He extends his hand, which Danny shakes, smiling.

"Please, call me Danny."

-The Next Day

UA High School, Class 1-A Homeroom. Students are seated and wearing school uniforms. One student, a boy with messy hair is fidgeting at his desk excitedly, making his desk squeak. Another student is getting annoyed by the sound and finally explodes. "Deku, what the hell are you doing!? You're making too much noise and it's pissing me off!"

Another student interjects, he's blonde and has a black lightning bolt in it. "Last I checked, everything pisses you off, Bakugo!" Bakugo turns, "SHUT THE HELL UP, SPARK PLUG!"

The fidgety boy speaks. "S-Sorry Kacchan, I'm just really excited! The new exchange student is going to be here any minute, and I just can't wait to meet him!" His friend Uraraka chimes in. "I know, right!? This is gonna be so cool! I wonder what kind of quirk he has?"

"How do you know it's even a 'he'?" A short boy with purple balls for hair interjects. "I'm hoping for someone with blonde hair and curves in all the right places!"

"Hate to burst your bubble Mineta, but it's definitely a guy, ribbit." Tsuyu, a girl with frog-like features gets in on the conversation. "Actually, I hear he's been active as a pro already."

This piques the interest of Momo Yaoyurozu, a girl with a black ponytail. "At our age? Is he some kind of prodigy?" A tough looking redhead, Kirashima, responds. "Good question, what do you think, Baku-bro?"

"Who the hell cares?" Bakugo said. "I stopped following American heroes after that idiot Captain Celebrity came through town a while back. At this point, he's just another extra who better not get in my way."

Suddenly, a tall boy in glasses comes rushing through the door. It's the Class Rep, Tenya Iida. "ATTENTION EVERYONE, CLASS IS ABOUT TO BEGIN! PLEASE TAKE YOUR SEATS IMMEDIATELY!"

"Dude, we're already sitting down," says Sero, seated near the middle. Hagakure, an invisible girl, is equally merciless. "For someone as fast as you are, you can be a bit late to the party!"

Iida sits down, devastated. "I failed again!" Their homeroom instructor, Mr. Aizawa walks through the front door. "Alright everyone, settle down and be quiet". He speaks with a bored tone, but every student is alert and listening. "As you're all by now aware, we have a new student who'll be staying with us temporarily as part of the exchange program. He'll be here for 2 weeks and will be tested by our staff to determine his capabilities. He'll also be attending regular classes alongside you all. Don't give him too much trouble and keep the questions to a minimum. He obviously doesn't speak Japanese, so he's using a translator provided by the Support Department." He looks out the open door. "You can come in now."

Danny walks in wearing a UA uniform. He fidgets with his neck, not used to the tie. There's a little speaker attached to his collar, and in his left ear is an earbud-looking device.

He immediately catches the eye of Mina, a pink girl with horns. "Oooh, he's kinda cute!" Mineta pouts, "Not 2 seconds in, and he's already stealing all the babes!"

(Danny, still playing with his collar)- "Jeez, and I thought the uniforms Vlad stuck us in were bad. At least there's no stupid sweater vest tho." He's mumbling in English, but the speaker on his collar emits his voice in Japanese.

Aizawa looks at him. "Hey, introduce yourself." Danny realizes they're waiting on him. "Oh, sorry! Never been the 'new kid' before... My name's Danny Fenton, I'm 15 years old and I'm from a town called Amity Park in Minnesota. It's nice to meet you!"

"Hello Danny!" says most of the class. Deku gasps. "Waitaminute!!! You're not that Danny Fenton, are you!?"

Danny, somewhat sheepishly answers. "Oh, youheard of me? I figured with all the heroes in Japan I'd slip through the cracks! But yeah, that's me, the one and only. At least in this dimension..."

Uraraka looks confused. "Hey Deku, what's gotten into you?" Deku whips around. "Do you guys not realize who this is!? He's the Ghost Hero, Danny Phantom!!" The students start muttering, trying to piece where they heard the name. One of them, Sato, speaks up. "Hold on, I know that name. Didn't he save the whole world from a meteor 3 months back??"

Now everyone is impressed, even Bakugo is somewhat taken aback by the feat. Questions start flying. "No way!" "That was you!?" "Incredible!!!" "Are you really a pro??" "I've gotta get his autograph!" "Didn't they put a statue of him somewhere in the city?" Aizawa glares in red eye, and the class settles down.

His class quiet again, Aizawa speaks. "Alright, obviously we have someone of note here. I'll let him answer one question each, but keep them short and relevant. Introduce yourselves while you're at it." With that, he zips up into a yellow sleeping bag and lays down.

Danny sarcastically observes Aizawa settling in. "Real go-getter, aren't you? Well ok, guess it's QA time. What would you like to know?" A bunch of hands shoot up in the air. "Uh, you with the red hair."

Kirashima stands up. "I'm Kirashima, and dude, how long have you been a pro hero? I've never heard of one who's our age!"

Danny smiles. "About a year and a half, pretty much since I got my powers. And I'm not exactly what you'd call a pro over here. I just dealt with ghost problems."

A student with a tail, Ojiro looks confused. "Ghost problems?" "Yeah, ghosts are a thing in Amity Park," says Danny. "My parents are actually scientists who specialize in the study and capture of them. Let's see, oh! You with the green hair and notebook. You recognized me first earlier."

Deku stands, shaking a bit nervously. "Uh, I'm Izuku Midoryia, and I was wondering what exactly your quirk does?"

Now it's Danny's turn to look confused. "My what? Oh right, that's what you call Super Powers over here. Well actually, I was born a normal guy. Over here, I think you'd say I'm 'quirkless'." This gets Deku's complete attention from his notebook. Bakugo raises an eyebrow. "Yeah believe it or not, my hometown's pretty isolated. No pro heroes, don't think anyone there even has a quirk. We're not sure if it has to do with all the ghost activity, but that's how it is."

Mina jumps to her feet. "Mina here! If you were born quirkless, how'd you get your powers?" Danny chuckles. "By complete accident. Like I mentioned earlier, my parents are obsessed with ghosts. They built this portal in our own basement to try and see into what they called the 'Ghost Zone', basically a dimension where spirits live. Problem is the thing didn't work."

"One day after a friend convinced me, I threw on a hazmat suit and went inside. I accidentally hit a button that turned it on and I got blasted with this energy called ectoplasm. It rewrote my DNA on a molecular level and gave me my powers. Now I can basically do everything a Ghost can do."

He holds up his right hand that starts glowing green. "By manipulating the ectoplasm in my body, I can walk through walls, go invisible, fly, basically anything a ghost can do. There's a bit more I can do, but usually it's only when I'm in my Ghost Form, takes a toll on my normal body. How about you, the tall guy with the glasses?"

Iida raises from his seat, adjusting his glasses. "Greetings, my name is Tenya Ida, Official Representative of Class 1-A! My question is this: if you were not licensed and still using your powers in public, does that not mean you were breaking the law??"

Danny's somewhat taken aback by the energetic Iida. "Wow, you're… intense. Technically I wasn't. Like I said, nobody in Amity Park has powers, so there were no laws in place saying I couldn't use them. And honestly, I wasn't really fighting crime, just ghosts. There were a few people who wanted to catch and study me. My own parents even tried a few times. How they never figured out what I was, I still don't know! It wasn't until after that thing with the meteor when it finally got through that I was a good guy and I felt comfortable enough revealing my identity. How about you with the ponytail?"

Momo stands up. "I'm Momo Yaoyurozu, and I'd like to know, if you have all this experience already, why are you coming to school here in Japan?"

Danny rolls his eyes. "Things were getting kind of crazy back home. People coming wanting to meet me, reporters, government agents wanting me to work for them, stuff like that. Downside to no secret identity, everyone knows where to find ya. I couldn't even go back to school because I was so high profile now. Eventually, my teacher was contacted by your principal who offered a student exchange for a few weeks. I'd get some formal training that would satisfy anyone complaining about me, plus I'd be able to go to school like a normal kid again and take any classes I would've otherwise missed. So, here I am. Anything else?"

Bakugo raises his hand, to the shock of nearly everyone. "Yeah, just how strong are you, Glow Stick?" Danny's blue eyes flash green. "Is that a challenge?" Bakugo grins, somewhat surprised by the new kid's spirit. "What if it is?"

Aizawa interjects, "Bakugo, no." Danny's eyes go back to normal. "Yeah sorry, no can do. Principal Nezu wants to observe my powers in action, and he already has me set to go against someone else already, part of some kinda test..."

Bakugo starts to get angry. "Quit making excuses, why would he wanna test you?" "That's enough," says Aizawa. "Yes, he's going be tested later today at the training city. If you really wanna see how he does, I'll have a video feed sent here. I'm assuming that's ok with you? It would be rational to let them observe and see how you compare to their own development."

Danny shrugs. "Uh, sure I guess." "Good," says Aizawa. "Now with that settled, go to lunch, I need a nap." Iida takes charge. "You heard Mr. Aizawa! Everyone stand up and form a single file line!" Danny looks at Aizawa. "So that's where your enthusiasm went." Aizawa just grunts and rolls over.

-Later…

A screen is lowered and live footage from the training city is playing. Excited voices overlap. "So, any idea who he's taking on?" "I heard it's someone in 1-B." "I'd take whatever Monoma says with a grain of salt." "Still, this will be a good learning experience for us! We're witnessing a young pro in action!" "You're certainly excited, Iida!" "So who is he going up against, Aizawa-Sensei? Is it another student?" Aizawa grins slightly. "Not exactly."

Hagakure points are the screen. "Hey look, it's the Principle! And that guy with him, isn't that Mr. Mera from the Provisional License Exam? He still looks pretty tired." "Wonder if he ever got his coffee?" Asks Koda.

Principal Nezu, a small, mouselike man walks over to Danny, Mr. Mera in tow. He raises a paw in cheerful greeting. "Good afternoon, Danny! How are you finding our school? I see you like the gym uniform!"

Danny moves around in his new duds, the speaker now on his shirt collar. "Yeah, no offense, but the shirt and tie look has never been a favorite of mine."

Nezu smiles. "None taken. Now then, would you like to meet your opponent?" A big guy emerges from the shadows. He's muscular, and wears a red and silver uniform. "This is one of our homeroom teachers, his name is –"

(cuts to Deku)- "No way! He's fighting the Blood Hero, Vlad King!"

(Voices overlap excitedly again) "Oh this is gonna be good!" "Looks like he's wearing restraint weights." "Is this gonna be like the Final Exams?"

In Class 1-B, a similar screen has been set up and the class is watching the same feed. One of the students yells at the screen. "Don't hold back, Vlad-Sensei! Show that 1-A scum no mercy and give him a taste of humiliation!!" Sitting behind him, a girl with orange hair in a ponytail rolls her eyes. "Jeez Monoma, how long are you gonna hold this stupid grudge?" "He never lets things go, Kendo, you know that..." Another student, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, adds in. He's got silver hair and has mannerisms similar to Kirashima.

Back on the field, the combatants get to know each other. "So your name's Vlad, huh? Getting some serious Déjà vu here." Vlad looks puzzled. "In what way?"

Danny elaborates. "I used to fight a guy with the same first name, he was like my arch enemy. Remember the Disasteroid? Ol' Fruitloop was the one who sent it."

Vlad remembers the incident well. "Oh yes, I remember. Tried holding the world for ransom, didn't he? Whatever happened to him?"

"Well, when he went to stop the thing, he couldn't do it himself. So dad left him floating somewhere in space while we cleaned up his mess."

Vlad nods. "Your plan was certainly ambitious, though not an easy one to accomplish. Even with our various quirks, it was no easy feat covering the whole planet in metal tubing." Danny smiles. "Hey it worked, didn't it?"

In the classroom, Mina notices the professional camaraderie. "What're they talking about? Think they know each other?" Todoroki takes note. "More like they're sizing each other up." "Aw man, this is getting intense!" Says Kirashima. "Wish I was down there fighting!"

Vlad continues. "Well in any case, you've well for an amateur. Every hero says that want to save the world, but you actually did it. However, you'll find I'm a different caliber of opponent than what you're used to."

"So what's your quirk do anyway?" Danny asks. "That tube in your glove part of it?" Vlad gets serious (more so than before). "You'll learn soon enough." He walks into through the open door to the training city. Danny waves goodbye, a little unsure what to make of the man. "Nice to meet you too, I guess."

At this point, Mr. Mera walks over. "Alright now, Danny. What we've set up is essentially an end of term examination the students in your class experienced at the end of their last term. For them, it was a two on one match against a teacher playing the role of a villain. We have a similar setup with the Provisional License Exam, God I'm exhausted.." He slumps back into a chair sitting against the city wall.

"Are.. you ok dude?" Danny asks, somewhat concerned. Mera shrugs it off. "Long work week, plus this overtime assignment I'm here for now. Nothing I'm not already used to... Now normally you would have 30 minutes to work together and either escape the designated zone, or restrain the villain with handcuffs like the ones already given to you. However given your previous experience and lack of partner, I decided to lower your time to 15 minutes."

This creates a bit of a stir in the classroom. "Wait he's got less time? Is that even fair?" Uraraka stands up, a bit unsure. Bakugo leans back in his seat. "Life's not fair, if you can't roll with the punches, you're not cut out to be a pro." Deku in the meantime, has gotten out his notebook, pen poised to start taking down information.

Danny shrugs. "Alright, when do I start?" Nezu points to the big door. "As soon as you walk through the entrance. Now show us how you Go Beyond. Plus Ultra!!"

Danny walks towards the entrance, noting the big sign with Nezu's image plastered on it. 'Do Your Best!' It says in big letters. Danny can't help but be reminded of home. "Wow, and I thought my dad liked putting his face on everything. Alright, here goes!"

He sprints thru the entry and makes his way through the city. In about 5 minutes, he's already in sight of the entrance, however Vlad King jumps from a rooftop, landing in the classic style superheroes do, making a big crater in front of Danny. He's taken off guard and knocked back off his feet.

Vlad raises back to his full height. "You should mind your surroundings, hero! This is no pleasure stroll through the city!" Danny gets back to his feet, rubbing the back of his head. "Ow, that hurt! You guys don't hold back. Send many students to the hospital with these 'exams'?"

Vlad assumes a fighting stance. "The only thing you should worry about boy, is how you'll survive against me!"

Danny starts to get amped up. "Looks like it's going be that kind of fight. If that's the case, then I'm Going Ghost!" 2 white rings of energy appear at Danny's waist, moving up and down his body. The U.A clothes are replaced by a black and white jumpsuit, a stylized D on the chest. His hair turns snowy white and his blue eyes turn an eerie green. Danny Fenton has become Danny Phantom.

The students watch the transformation, some in shock, others in awe. Only Todoroki and Bakugo look seemingly unfazed. "Whoa, what's happening?" Asks Sero, confused. "Looks like he's powering up," Shoji replies. "This must be the Ghost Form he mentioned."

"Is that his hero costume? Mina butts in. "It looks pretty simple stylistically, but I like it!" Another student, a twinkling boy named Aoyama adds in, "I think it needs a cape like moi." Aizawa shuts down the chatter. "Quit talking and watch."

Danny charges his hands and shoots ectoblast at his opponent. Vlad is able to dodge them pretty easily with Danny giving chase, shooting to try and and hit him., Vlad jumps up and uses the building wall as a new angle to leap from and attack. He's throwing a punch but Danny's able to dodge and lands a hit on his back with an ectoblast.

Vlad takes the blow well, but it does knock him down. "Your reflexes are decent, and that blast didn't tickle either. But let's see how you do when I'm not holding back!"

He throws a piece of rubble at Danny, which he dodges. However the distraction allows Vlad to sweep Danny's leg and slams him against another building. A red substance blasts out of his gauntlet and traps Danny against a wall.

"I...Can't...Move! What is this stuff?"

Vlad glares, "You wanted to know what my quirk does? Well this is it."

(Suddenly Mic's voice cuts in.) "Vlad King, Class 1-B Homeroom Teacher! Quirk: Blood Control! By ejecting it from his body, Vlad can manipulate his blood in nearly any environment, reabsorbing it back when he's done. Honestly, it's kinda gross."

Danny looks a little freaked out. "Ugh, yeah it's gross! There's no way this is sanitary!" Vlad keeps a tight grip. "I can also harden it to prevent an opponent from escaping." He does so as Danny struggles to get out normally, but to no avail.

Vlad doesn't let up. "There's 5 minutes left on the clock, nowhere near enough time to escape. You should just surrender hero, even All Might would've had trouble escaping a trap like that!"

In the staff office, All Might suddenly sneezes. (He, Cementoss and Midnight are watching the battle on tv, though they can't hear what's being said.)

Danny struggles more. "Well I might not be this 'All Might', but I think I'm gonna be all right!" He goes intangible and sinks back into the building.

Vlad lurches forwards with his target gone. "Hmm? Intangibility..." Vlad reabsorbs his blood and charges through a window of the building. He looks around but Danny is nowhere to be found, but his voice cuts in from seemingly nowhere. "Sorry Red, but that trick won't work on me again."

Vlad looks around. "Invisible too, huh? I can see how you made it this far, your abilities are admittedly impressive. However, relying on tricks like this are not the acts of a valiant hero! You run and you hide, but a true hero is able to confront evil head on and not cower in the darkness!".

Danny takes the bait. "Hey, you calling me a coward!?" Vlad quickly turns towards the voice and uses his blood as a whip. It snags an invisible Danny, yanking him down towards him before he can react and landing a big punch. Danny slams hard against the ground, stunned.

"No, but you are young, and easily manipulated!" He leaps in the air, ready to land a double handed smash. But suddenly his hands are cuffed from above.

Danny looks down, standing upside down from the ceiling. "Sorry, who's being manipulated?" Vlad's confuses now. "What?? But how did-" The stunned Danny winks and vanishes.

Danny floats down. "Oh yeah, should've mentioned: I can make clones too!" The sign with Nezu's face changes to say 'Good Job!', as Mic's voice shouts "Danny Fenton has passed!!"

Vlad's expression goes from shock to humble resignation. "Not bad, kid. Makes me wonder how things would've gone if I wasn't held back. Be honest though, you still hiding some tricks?"

Danny grins, "One or two, but I was gonna use them if the clone didn't work. It's always tougher when you're up against the clock."

Vlad smiles slightly. "That's how it is for us heroes everyday. But I must admit, I see a bright future for you as a pro, Danny Phantom. I look forward to seeing how you progress." He extends a hand, which Danny shakes.

Class 1-A cheers in their room. In 1-B, however, Monoma looses it. "Ugh!!! Why does this keep happening!? How is that despicable 1-A transfer able to beat Vlad Sensei! There's NO WAY this is fai-" (He's knocked out by a chop to the back of his head by Kendo). "The guy's not even a permanent student here, get a grip Monoma"

Later on, Danny is walking to the dorms holding his new provisional license. "Would've preferred a driver's license, but this is pretty cool I guess." "Hey Danny!" He looks up and sees Deku calling towards him. A few students are with him at the dorm entrance.

Danny heads over. "Oh, hey guys!" Kirashima throws some punches at the air. "Dude, your fight was awesome!! I've never seen a student beat a teacher by himself, let alone a guy as tough as Vlad Sensei!"

"Thanks! But he was definitely held back by those weights. Without them, I bet he would've fought harder. Even as he was, I couldn't beat him on strength alone."

"Heh, well at least he gets that much." Danny looks up to see Bakugo leaning in the doorway before walking inside. "Jeez, what's with Mr. Superiority Complex?" He thinks aloud.

Deku speaks up. "So even with the weights, Vlad Sensei was tough to beat?" He's got his notebook out and writing a mile a minute.

"Yeah, the guy was really aware of his surroundings, could even tell where I was when I went invisible. If he knew about my cloning beforehand, there's no way he would've dropped his guard."

"I see, that makes sense." Deku scribbles even faster, even making a little smoke in the air from going so fast.. "How many clones can you make, by the way? Are you related to Ectoplasm or is that just the name of the stuff in your molecules like you mentioned? I heard he can make more than 30 clones at once, though I don't know if that's his limit or not. I wonder if when a clone disappears, the original gets the knowledge? Does that make the clone sentient or drone-like? Otherwise that just raises a whole lot of questions..." He's doing his fast paced muttering as the others stare.

Danny starts laughing. "Whoa, slow down! I met the guy earlier when I arrived, actually. There's no relation. I didn't know he could make so many clones! And the most I can do is 4 at a time!"

"It was still very impressive battle," says Iida. "When we took our examinations, not all of us were able to win, and we had twice the time as well as a partner."

"Thanks Iida. So the dorm rooms are in here, yeah?" Danny walks in. "I still need to unpack my stuff."

Mina calls in after him. "Don't take too long, Danny! Come to the common area when you get settled. We decided to have a little party to celebrate your win, and to officially welcome you to Class 1-A!"

Danny smiles at her, "In that case, I won't be long!" He walks down the hallway, looking back at his new dorm mates. "I was right, this is gonna be a fun vacation!"

Meanwhile, over at Tartarus Prison, the inmate sits restrained under the highest security in his cell. Cameras watch him at all times, sensors and weapons are ready to go off if he were to activate a quirk. Suffice to say, he's not going anywhere nor does he plan to, at least not yet. However, the effects of various quirks on his body have permanently enhanced his senses. And while he no longer has eyes, he can detect that he's not alone. He speaks softly, so as to avoid being heard by the guards.

"There are 2 people in the world capable of sneaking into a facility like this undetected, one's no longer living, and the other is currently in my employ. You are neither of them. Who might I ask, are you?

A disembodied voice speaks to him. "…I am... Plasmius. And I've come a very long way to speak with you, All For One."
