Chapter 38 Rebirth
It's been a couple days since Raiko's little stunt on the bridge since he earned the mark of the cruelty and inhumanity on his head making him think twice before doing anything to Sean and Korra or face Athena's wrath.
And of course since Zaheer escaped with his new found powers and went looking for his group to find the Avatar.
As of right now on Air temple island The group watched as Asami arrived with a luxury Airship before it landed as she got off
"Did someone order a fully-equipped future industries airship?" Asami asked making them chuckle.
"Now this is amazing. Thanks, Asami." Korra said as Sean held her.
"I figured if we're going to Ba Sing Se to search for airbenders, we should do it in style. And it has a medical room and team incase you end up going into labor early so there won't be any complications." Asami said making her smile holding her 7 month pregnant stomach.
"Thanks." Korra said grateful.
"Yay! Airship!" Meelo yelled.
"I wanna see." Ikki said as the two rushed inside making the group chuckle in amusement.
"Pema and I will hold down the fort." Kya said holding her youngest nephew.
"Where are Reznov and Julia?" Mako asked.
"Those two are in their lands gathering the Airbenders they can find and bring them here. The other from Avalar are also searching their lands to find and bring any airbenders from all over the world here knowing how important it is. And of course others from across the world are doing the same incase Zeus or Ra try to pull something." Sean said.
"The world is truly coming together for the first time in 10,000 years." Tenzin said.
"Aye." Mimir said.
"Thats what happens when the ones causing so much suffering are finally dead." Luke said.
"Once we find more airbenders we can all head to the Northern Airtemple then." Tenzin said.
"Hey! How come Jinora gets to go with you but we don't! That is so not fair!" Ikki said annoyed.
"Yeah what she said!" Meelo said.
"Because if Airbenders show up here, they will need some guidance from you two." Kya said.
"Oh." They said looking excited.
"Uh oh." Mimir said worried making them laugh.
Soon enough the group was in the airship and took off.
On top Naga had her tongue out as the wind blew by while Oogi did the same.
Down below Sean pulled out a map.
"As of now there are the towns in the Earth Kingdom we've gotten reports about airbenders. We can hit up most of them as we make our way to Ba Sing Se." Sean said.
"We're going to bring the air nation back from the brink of extinction." Korra said excited.
"Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Odds are some of these people are gonna turn down what we're offering since they enjoy their lives as they are." Sean said.
"He's got a point." Dojo said a round Sean's neck.
"Aye." Mimir said.
"Honey your killing the good mood." Korra said grinning making him chuckle.
"He's not wrong. Even some half gods didn't want training and just wanted a simple life." Luke said leaning in his chair.
"Besides theres gonna be more than enough to rebuild the air nation once we find them all that wish to join us." Sean said.
"Thats all I wish to see." Tenzin said. "And with the entire world now completely filled with new benders I believe that will happen." Tenzin said.
Meanwhile
On a remote prison in the middle of the ocean was the White Lotus once more who guarded one of Zaheer's allies. Ghazan.
The whole prison was made of wood to prevent him from using his element from escaping.
Suddenly a speed boat appeared.
"Finally, our shift change is here."
When the boat docked they quickly noticed that there was only one member.
"Hey, where are the other guards?"
Thats when they saw who it was.
"ZAHEER!"
Zaheer quickly used his airbending to attack them.
"Hmm?" Ghazan said trying to see.
Zaheer attacked the White lotus with ease.
Thats when he three some large rocks into the cage making Ghazan smirk before using his earth bending to turn them into lava before busting out and attacked the remaining members with ease.
Thats when they got into an armlock.
"It's nice to see you again, Ghazan." Zaheer said.
"Thanks for busting me out. Where'd you pick up the new skills?" Gahzan asked.
"I have Harmonic Convergence to thank for that. I was given a gift. I believe it's a sign that our path is a righteous one." Zaheer said.
"And what about that big guy. Kratos?" Gahzan asked.
"He's no longer around in the physical world. He won't stop us this time. And his son and the Avatar are now married and expecting. Making our job easier." Zaheer said.
Later
"In my head I saw that playing out very differently." Korra said as they were back on the airship after failing to pick up their first Airbender.
"Like I said not everyone would be willing to join us that easily. Some people just enjoy the lives they have now and don't feel the need for change. Nevertheless though eventually at least half of the new airbenders will show up from the rest of the world and fill up the temples again." Sean said holding her close.
"Maybe we should try harder to convince them to join us." Asami said.
"Or we could've throwing him into a potato sack and forced him into the ship." Bolin said.
"Thats how they got me to join the united forces." Bumi said playing with his spirit.
"No, Sean's right we can't coerce people or throw them into potato sacks." Tenzin said.
"Look most of these towns only have at least one airbender and like Sean said they might just enjoy their lives as they are. So I see no point in going to them if they'll just turn us down." Luke said.
"Yeah thats true." Sean said making Tenzin sigh.
"I suppose so." Tenzin said.
Sean and Korra were in their room as they held her stomach as she smiled softly.
"You ok?" Sean asked seeing the look on her face.
"Yeah...I just don't understand. I thought people would jump at the chance of becoming airbenders." Korra said.
"Korra, some people just want to live normal lives. I didn't want to be this God Slayer when I found out who I was. I do it though because I know I have to. They don't have to be something they don't want to be." Sean said.
"I guess." Korra said before they laid down to sleep.
As everyone was asleep Turok was up with the animals in lion form.
Suddenly however he sensed a presence making him look around before something dashed at him from the air making him roar.
Sean and Korra jumped up.
"Huh?" Sean said.
"That sounded like Turok." Korra said concerned making Sean rush out.
Arriving at the top he saw Naga and Oogi knocked out while seeing Turok in human form groaning as he had a blade in his leg before rushing to him and pulled it out.
"The hell happened?" Sean asked.
"LOOK OUT!" Turok yelled as something attacked him from behind.
"GET OFF ME YOU FUCKING PRICK!" Sean yelled as the others rushed up before Sean threw whoever attacked him into the railing before he saw his attacker.
"Icarus?" Luke asked seeing him looking deranged and vicious.
"The hell?" Sean asked.
"Ra himself has promised to reward anyone for your death. Since there are few gods left because of you he is willing to give anyone what they wish. Mine being to prevent my death before I escaped the realm of Hades." Icarus said making Sean snort.
"You expect to kill me? Your nothing but a joke. Not even worth my time." Sean said walking to his brother.
"DON'T TURN YOUR BACK ON ME!" Icarus yelled dashing to him as they went to the railing.
"GET OFF YOU DUMB FREAK!" Sean yelled before grabbing him by the legs before slamming his back into the railing making him yell in pain as his spine was broken.
Thats when Sean grabbed his wings and pulled.
"NOOOOO!" Icarus yelled in pain before screaming as Sean pulled them off before kicking him off as he fell to his death once more.
"That was pointless." Sean said before inspecting his new wings.
"The hell was that about?" Korra asked.
"Ra is getting desperate. Theres only a few gods left and they can't afford to lose them." Sean said.
"I see." Tenzin said.
"Catch." Sean said tossing Mimir to Asami making her scream in shock before tossing him to Jinora.
"Hello little sister." Mimir said making her smile.
Meanwhile
Another prison of the White Lotus was on an inactive Volcano.
And who was the one who was imprisoned? None other than Ming-Hua who Kratos took the arms off of so many years ago.
No doubt she hadn't forgotten that period.
"We're under attack!"
"Hmm?" Ming-Hue said looking up seeing the White Lotus being attacked by Zaheer and Ghazan before the later threw a barrel in the air before Zaheer sliced it open letting out water before she used it to make water arms and escaped before attacking the remaining White Lotus.
"Never thought I'd be happy to see your ugly mugs again." Ming-Hua said.
"Great to see you too, Ming-Hua." Ghazan said.
"I'm flattered, you busted me out before that girlfriend of yours." Ming-Hua said.
"We're getting her next. And then we're going after the Avatar and the God Slayer." Zaheer said.
"What about his father Kratos? Need I remind you he did this to me and beat us with his bare hands?" Ming-Hua said gesturing to her limbless arms with her water bending arms.
"Kratos has long since passed from the land of the living. And Kruger and the avatar are now married and expecting." Zaheer said making her grin.
"Perfect." Ming-Hua said.
Later
Sean and Korra slowly woke up before Korra yawned as she began to sit up and stretched about to get up before Sean pulled her back down making her smile.
"Not yet." Sean said tired making her giggle.
"Sean get up. We got one last stop before we head to Ba Sing Se." Korra said making him yawn before getting up.
Korra then looked in the mirror seeing her seven month pregnant stomach and held it.
"Hmm. Do I look Fat to you?" Korra asked making him laugh.
"Oh for the love of not that stupid question. It's just the pregnancy you'll be back to your old in perfect shape self when he or she gets out. And by some miracle it doesn't go away...I did sign up for better or for worse." Sean said making her laugh before kissing him lovingly.
"Thats comforting." Korra said.
"HEY GUYS!" Turok yelled making them get dressed before coming out seeing the others talking to some boy.
"Who's this kid?" Sean asked.
"This is Kai. He's an airbender and he's joining us." Tenzin said.
"Nice to meet you kid." Korra said.
"Are you the Avatar?" Kai asked.
"Yup." Korra said holding her stomach.
"We should probably get going. Kai says he's on the run from Outlaws." Bolin said.
"Huh?" Sean asked before hearing motorcycles making them look outside seeing a group of men. "The hell is going on?" Sean asked.
"Release the boy or we'll take him by force."
"The Outlaws...They're after me." Kai said making Sean narrow his eyes before he went outside.
"This isn't going to end well." Mimir said.
Turok however noticed something In Kai's sack.
Sean walked off the airship before glaring at the men.
"Leave...Now." Sean said.
"We're not going anywhere." The leader said before the skies lit up with lightning before Sean held up the blade of Magni before swinging it creating a wave of lightning that sent them all back hard.
"I detest guys like you. Targeting an innocent boy." Sean said.
"Innocent? Is that what he told you? I'm a sherif here." The Sherif said making him blink as he looked seeing his badge.
"What the?" Dojo said around Sean's neck.
"Wait what?" Sean asked.
"That boy is a criminal. We've been chasing him for months." The Sherif said making Sean narrow his eyes.
"Where the fuck is Kai?" Sean asked.
"Right here." Luke said dragging him out before tossing his bag showing gold.
"You fucking lied to me." Sean said.
"It's not what you think." Kai tried to say.
"You were gonna put my friends, my wife and my unborn child in harms way." Sean said angered.
"The person who stole that stuff is the old me. I don't know how to explain it but once I became an airbender I changed." Kai said making him frown before the police dragged him away.
"What are you gonna do with him?" Luke asked.
"Send him to prison for the rest of his life." The Sharif said making Sean look towards Korra looking at her pregnant stomach.
"Wait." Sean said stopping them. "You have the gold...Leave him with us." Sean said surprising Kai. "He's just a kid. Let us straighten him out." Sean said making the Sharif nod before releasing Kai who ran to Sean and hugged him making him smile.
"Why'd you do it?" Kai asked.
"Well...It's in my nature to help and guid others." Sean said as they went back to the airship before Korra kissed him. (Sora before you even ask no I am never going to have Kai sent to jail because that would be fucking cruel to a child)
"You did the right thing." Korra said
"Yeah...Lets just hope he does actually change." Sean said before they took off.
"Hmm." Turok said looking at Kai who was talking to Jinora making him frown before walking away.
Meanwhile
Three people stood in the prison that held Ming-Hua.
The first was a member of the White Lotus.
The second was Baldur.
And finally the last was Fire Lord Zuko who despite his age was still in good shape.
"They came out of nowhere. I'm so sorry, Lord Zuko and Lord Baldur."
"I thought you guys were supposed to be good. How the hell did you idiots let this happen?" Baldur asked.
"We were prepared to deal with her without question. However Zaheer and Ghazan arrived and freed her...And something else. Zaheer is an Airbender now."
"No! This can't be. Do you have any idea the power these criminals possess?" Zuko questioned.
"Enlighten me." Baldur said.
"Individually, they could take down any bender. Put them together, they could take down the entire world as a whole. And Now Zaheer is an airbender?" Zuko asked.
"Don't you think your over exaggerating?" Baldur asked.
"No...I'm not. Kratos took them down last time before he truly passed on to the land of the dead. But even he had some trouble with them." Zuko said.
"Ok that is concerning if they could give him of all people some trouble. Where the hell they going?" Baldur asked.
"To the Northern Water Tribe." Zuko said.
"I'll shall notify the northern Chiefs at once." The white Lotus member said.
"Notify Chief Beifong as well. Though I doubt they'll get past Kruger with all his new powers we must be prepared. In the Avatar's current state she is an easy target." Zuko said as he and Baldur went to their dragons before flying away.
Authors Note: Oh boy. This is gonna get intense. Now Next Chapter I have a few surprises in-store for all of you that will make this more interesting than the last two stories.
