Chapter 44 Long Live the queen
Sean and Asami were being escorted to an airship to return to Ba Sing Se.
"LET ME THE FUCK OUT! You dumb idiots don't know what you're doing!" Sean yelled trying to get free but his restraints were locked tight to prevent him from moving to build any momentum along with a seal on his neck to turn off his powers.
"Sorry Kruger but we have orders. She wants you for the wedding" The Captain said making him growl in annoyance
"AHHH! Where's Luke, Mako and Bolin when you need them?" Sean asked before he was locked to the wall to prevent him from moving.
"Do I have to be chained to the floor the whole way? It's going to be so uncomfortable." Asami said making Sean raise an eyebrow.
"Sorry miss I'm under orders."
"Can't you just chain me to the railing?" Asami asked.
"Well, as long as you're chained up, I guess it doesn't make a difference."
Asami was chained to the railing before he left.
"I had hoped Mako, Luke and Bolin would show up to save us at the last minute before we took off. What happened to them?" Sean asked.
"They stayed behind to fight two members of the Red Lotus as you called them. The Lava bender and water arm lady." Asami said.
"Their names are Ghazan and Ming-Hua from what Lin told me. And if they gave my old man some trouble...You know they are dangerous." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Zaheer and the Red Lotus were driving in a truck to Ba Sing Se with Mako, Luke and Bolin tied up.
"If you think holding us hostage will give you some leverage against Sean, you're dead wrong." Luke said.
"Can't we just enjoy our time together in silence?" Ming-Hua asked annoyed.
"Piss off." Luke said.
"So you guys were, like, locked up for 15 years? That must have been, like, crazy boring." Bolin said.
"It felt more like 30. Kratos took us down like we were nothing." Ghazan said.
"So, what did you do with all that time? Did you sing songs, work on crafts?" Bolin asked. (Oy you gotta be kidding me)
"Do I look like I can use crafts without water?" Ming-Hua asked annoyed looking at her severed arms.
"What exactly happened to your arms anyway?" Bolin asked making her look furious.
"Oh no." Ghazan said backing away.
"Uh boy." P'li said making Zaheer sigh.
"You had to ask." Zaheer said knowing what was coming.
"KRATOS RIPPED THEM THE FUCK OFF THATS WHAT HAPPENED!" Ming-Hua roared in his face making him whimper.
"So thats where Sean gets it from. He did the same thing to Modi when they showed up in Sparta." Mako said to himself.
"I must have renamed the constellations about a thousand times. When it rained, that was a big event." Ghazan said.
"I would have killed for some rain." Ming-Hua said. "Mostly I just made up stories about the guards. Who was having trouble with his girlfriend? Which one secretly wished he became a pastry chef." Ming-Hua said. (Seriously?)
"Ooh, Okay, that sounds like fun. Let me try that on you guys." Bolin said before looking at Ghazan. "You were raised by an older Sister. Your mustache grew in when you were ten. And I'm sensing...Just sensing...An unspoken attraction between you two." Bolin said making him and Ming-Hua look at each other.
"Two out of three. Not Bad." Ghazan said. (Seriously which one did he get wrong? The Mustache one?)
"Bolin, will you stop making friends with the bad guys?" Luke asked.
"Sorry." Bolin said.
"Ghazan, gag those three. We're almost there." Zaheer said as they drove to Ba Sing Se.
Meanwhile
Sean growled as he tried to get free but the seal on him was preventing him from using his powers. It was like with Tarrlok 2 years ago all over again. It was aggravating beyond words.
"We gotta find a way off this prison before that dumb delusional bitch has us." Sean said.
"Don't worry. I have a plan. These airships that cabbage corp sold to the Earth Kingdom are way cheaper than the ones future industries built." Asami said placing her feet on the wall before pulling and the railing came off before she jumped up to put her arms in front of her.
"Ah, so thats why you wanted to be put there. Very nice." Sean said impressed as she approached him.
"Theres no way I can get these locks off. I need the keys." Asami said before making a hatch to climb out. "Give me five minutes, then start yelling for help." Asami said going on.
"I like her. She's really smart. Almost reminds me of me in my younger years." Mimir said still on Sean's side.
"Yeah...No wonder Mako loves her so much." Sean said.
"You two realize I can still hear you right?" Asami asked amused.
"Whoops." Sean said chuckling.
Meanwhile
"When is my husband scheduled for Delivery?" The Earth Queen asked Gun.
"The Airship already left Fort Bosco and should be arriving in a few hours." Gun said.
"Excellent. Send him to the Dai Li at once when he arrives. They'll make sure he forgets that tramp and loves only me." The Queen said pleased by this.
"Yes, your majesty. But first there are some people here who captured Kruger's friends. They would like to present them to you personally." Gun said.
"I do not talk with worthless bounty hunters." The Queen said.
"And of course I told them that, But they say they have some information that might interest you about the location of the Avatar and how to find her." Gun said.
"Really? Very well, send them in." The Queen said.
Soon Mako, Luke and Bolin were thrown down in front of her.
"Ah, yes. I remember these three. We'll find an acceptable home for you in prison with the rest of the slaves who failed to know their place." The Queen said before facing Zaheer. "Now I'm told you have some information for me. I hope this isn't just some scheme to try to increase your bounty." The Queen said.
"We don't want any bounty, your majesty. You can consider these three a thank-you gift for simply taking the time to talk to us." Zaheer said.
"Really? I'm pleased by this. So Where is the Avatar so I can end her so my future husband will love none but me?" The Queen questioned.
"I'd be happy to tell you once you hand the God Slayer over to me." Zaheer said.
"Who told you we have the God Slayer?" The Queen demanded.
"How I know is not important. But if I found out, the others will too. And that could put you in a difficult position." Zaheer said.
"And how do you figure that?" The Queen asked.
"You know Kruger has allies all over the world who will follow him no matter what for what he has done. Once they learn you have him they'll send their armies against yours. Not even you can fight against an entire world of warriors of so many skills. Especially Spartans." Zaheer said making her frown when she thought about that. "But if you let me take him today, No one need ever know he was here." Zaheer said.
"Hmm...I need time to consider this. Gun...Escort them to the Antechamber while I think on my answer." The Queen said getting him to do that. "Send these three to the dungeon!" The Queen yelled as the Dai Li took Mako and Bolin away.
"So you plan to give them Kruger your highness?" One of her servants asked.
"Of course not. My future husband belongs to me and me alone. I just need to think of a plan." The Queen said grinning. (Oh god)
Meanwhile
"HEY SHITHEAD!" Sean yelled gaining the Guard's attention as he looked inside seeing him but failed to see Asami.
"Where is she?"
Only to get knocked out from behind by Asami who smirked before grabbing the keys.
Sean growled as he was set free before taking off the seal and crushed it.
"Nice timing. Now lets take control of this hung of junk." Sean said.
The Captain sat back while the Pilot took them to Ba Sing Se.
Thats when the door turned to ice before shattering as Sean rushed in before the pilot tried to attack but Sean kicked him back into the wheel.
"Uh oh." Asami said seeing them lose control.
"Mayday! Mayday! The God Slayer has escaped! We're going down in Quadrant four." The Captain said as the Pilot was thrown at him and into the controls.
"I think you might have overdone it. The controls are busted and so is the radio." Asami said.
"Not my fault this thing is useless like you said. HANG ON!" Sean yelled as they crashed.
The two made it out of the airship up top.
"Well, they say any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. But given our location, I'm not so sure about that." Asami said before the crew came out.
"You all ok" Sean asked.
"Like you care."
"Do you really think I'm gonna let you take me back so the Queen can force me to marry her and kill my wife and kid?." Sean asked shocking them. "Thats not happening ever. Not even if she was the last woman on earth." Sean said before facing Asami. "You think we could fix this thing?" Sean asked.
"Maybe. If you can straighten out the propellers perfectly and if the Engine isn't in bad shape. The only real problem is getting out of the sand." Asami said.
Meanwhile
Lin was in a jeep looking for Sean and the others before she found some tracks.
Soon she found their jeep and Aiwei's.
When she went to inspect the later's jeep.
"AHHHHHHH!" Dojo screamed inside the passenger seat. (HAHAHAHA! I love when things like this happen to him)
"AHHH!" Lin yelled in shock.
"Oh it's just you." Dojo said breathing slowly.
"What are you doing?" Lin asked annoyed.
"What do you think I'm doing? I'm hiding from those four monsters." Dojo said before Naga rushed to her and licked her.
"First you scare the life out of me, now Naga wants to lick me." Lin said before she did it again as Pabu appeared from the Jeep and jumped on Lin before she grabbed him and put him on Naga before giving them treats. "Here. chew on this, and leave me alone." Lin said before getting the radio. "Reznov, you read me?" Lin asked.
"Yeah I hear ya." Reznov said.
"I found Sean's jeep, but the only ones here is Dojo and Naga. Meet me at the misty palms Oasis." Lin said.
"You two sure it's a good idea to have me outside Suyin's estate?" Korra asked concerned.
"I trust my sister but after what happened with Aiwei I think it's best we keep you moving until Sean comes back." Lin said.
"She's right. Best to keep you on the move until we find Sean." Tonraq said.
"Ok thats fair." Korra said.
"Relax kid. We'll find him." Baldur said.
"I thought you were a tracker? Find him." Turok said.
"I'm working on it. It's not instant." Baldur said.
"Calm down all of you." Freya said.
"Lets just meet up." Lin said.
Meanwhile
Sean grunted as he bent the propellers in the right position before jumping down and used the Wings of Icarus to blow the sand away.
"And people think wings are just good for flying." Sean said amused before seeing Asami fix the flaps. "We good?" Sean asked.
"Well, she's still pretty banged up from the crash, but I think she might be able to limp out of the desert." Asami said before one of the crew members went inside to start her up.
"Once we get this bird in the air we're heading back to the city so I can tell Korra what I found." Sean said.
"So Zeheer wants you to unleash all that power you have inside?" Asami asked.
"Yeah. In his twisted view thats the perfect life. Chaos untamed and uncontrolled. I don't know why they think that but they are all out of their minds. If all that power is unleashed it will destroy the world in days." Sean said as the airship started working. "Finally lets..." Sean tried to say before some Sand Shark monster came up and ate it before flying up in the air and left.
Though the crewmate was still alive...Though clearly scared out of his mind.
"What the hell was that?" Asami asked.
"Sand Shark." Sean said.
"Well, now what?"
"Uh the best I can come up with is a sand glider. Use my wings to blow us out of here." Sean said.
"Not like we got any other options." Asami said before Sean began to use whatever he could to make it.
Meanwhile
Zaheer and the others waited patiently for the Queen before one of her agents rushed past them.
"He's in a hurry." Ghazan said making Zaheer narrow his eyes before following him using his airbending to get up on the rafters to listen in on the conversation.
"Your majesty, we received a distress signal from the airship carrying the prisoners. We believe the ship crashed in the Si Wong desert and the God Slayer may have escaped." The Agent said making her growl.
"This is outrageous! Send another airship to retrieve my future husband immediately." The Queen said making Zaheer narrow his eyes before going back to the others and told them what happened.
"What are we going to do now?" Ming-Hua asked.
"Theres no way we can track him down in the desert before the Queen gets to him. And Kruger probably Long gone already." Ghazan said.
"It doesn't matter. We're gonna do what we should have the second we got here." Zaheer said.
The Queen was growling that her men failed to deliver her future husband like she told them.
"Worthless fools. I'll make sure they are publicly executed for failing their queen. Mother always said failure deserved proper punishment." The Queen said before the doors were blown down by Zaheer. "What is this peasant doing in my throne room unannounced?"
"Apologies, your majesty, But I couldn't help overhearing that Kruger won't be joining us today." Zaheer said.
"My Future husband is still in my custody. However, eavesdropping on royal conversations will land you in a cell right next to those boys you brought in. Now, if you value your freedom, You'll tell me where the Avatar is so I can have my men kill her and that spawn inside her so nothing will stand in my way of claiming him" The Queen said.
"Being honest? We were never really going to tell you where she is. I don't think Zeus would appreciate killing his great Grandchild." Zaheer said.
"HOW DARE YOU! KILL THEM!" The Queen thundered before her agents attacked them.
That didn't work out so well as her men were down in seconds. (Ah this never gets old seeing them defeated so easily)
Gun whimpered as he ran away in fear.
"GUN! Get back here and lay down your life for your queen, you worthless bastard!" The Queen roared hiding behind her chair. (And her mother called him a coward)
"He's the smart one." Zaheer said making her glare.
"You wouldn't dare attack a queen!" The Queen yelled before he looked up before seeing a chandelier with sharp objects on it right above making him smirk.
"I think Kruger will appreciate this." Zaheer said using his airbendeing to cut the line.
"Huh?" The Queen asked looking up before widening her eyes as she was skewered in every way possible.
"I thought you were just gonna suffocate her." P'li said.
"Either way works." Zaheer said.
Later
Zaheer, P'li and Ming-Hua arrived at the radio station.
"Hey, you can't be in here."
"No need for alarm. I just need to make an announcement to the entire city. How do I do that?" Zaheer asked.
"Who do you think you are?"
Ming-Hua grabbed him by the throat.
"He's the man who just took down the Earth Queen. You wanna be next?" Ming-Hua threatened.
"Ming-Hua, please. We're here to help citizens like him, not hurt them." Zaheer said calming her down. "Now, can you help me?" Zaheer asked making him nod before setting everything up.
"Attention, citizens of Ba Sing Se. I have an important announcement to make. Moments ago, the Earth Queen was brought down at the hands of revolutionaries, including myself. I'm not going to tell you my name, Cause my identity's not important. I'm not here to take over the Earth Kingdom. I think you've had enough of leaders telling you what to do. It's time for you to find your own path. No longer will you be oppressed by tyrants. From. now on you are free." Zaheer said.
Ghazan was outside the walls that held back the inner ring before he lava bent it down before the people came rushing in to do what they pleased.
Zaheer made his way to the cells before opening all but one. The one that held Mako, Luke and Bolin.
"I'm going to let you two go. But I want you to tell Kruger something for me." Zaheer said making Luke glare.
Later
Sean and Asami and the crew arrived back at the Oasis before getting off.
"This is why I hate the desert." Sean said shaking off the sand from his armor before Naga pushed him down and licked him making him laugh. "Easy girl. Did you miss me." Sean said.
"She's not the only one." Korra said above him.
"KORRA! The fuck are you doing here!" Sean yelled jumping up
"Relax. I got protection. Look." Korra said making him look seeing warriors from all over the world. Including Sparta .
"Oh. Well, that makes me way less concerned." Sean said making her smile as she kissed him.
"I'm so glad you're ok." Korra said making him smile as he held her.
"Almost wasn't. I found out what Zaheer plans are. He's even worse than Amon and Unalaq combined. Speaking of which your father was right. Unalaq sent those fuckers after both of us." Sean said.
"Why am I not surprised?" Tonraq asked walking to them with the others.
"The hell you all doing here?" Sean asked.
"When we learned Zaheer came after both of you again we came as soon as we could." Tenzin said.
"You remember Fire Lord Zuko right?" Korra asked.
"I met you when you and the Avatar were children. It's nice to see you again." Zuko said.
"Likewise. We haven't seen you since the Wedding and Katara's funeral. Anyway we got problems." Sean said.
"What is it?" Tonraq asked.
"Zaheer is out of his fucking mind. He wants to eliminate all world leaders thinking it will create a state of perfect chaos thinking it's the natural order. No idea where he's getting that from." Sean said.
"Thats stupid. Humans crave leadership. It's part of our nature to be led or to lead." Reznov said.
"I said the same thing. And thats not the only thing." Sean said concerned.
"What is it?" Korra asked.
"He wants me to unleash all the power of the gods I have inside to let it run wildly." Sean said shocking them all.
"He can't be fucking serious. That would destroy the world in days. No one would survive that." Julia said.
"Not in his messed up mind. I don't know when he's gonna come after us again." Sean said.
"Not for a while." Luke said with Mako and Bolin's family behind him with an airship.
"What do you mean?" Tenzin asked.
"Zaheer let us go after he killed the Earth queen. He's not gonna come after you for a while. He's letting you spend time with Korra and your kid after it's born. Said you deserve that much." Luke said.
"Great. And knowing him he's also planning something." Sean said.
"Doesn't matter now. Lets get back to the Metal Clan." Lin said.
"What about Ba Sing Se?" Luke asked.
"Forget about it. Theres nothing we can do. Besides I'm not gonna waste a gift." Sean said holding Korra close who looked real concern.
Meanwhile
"We're still not gonna take Ra up on his offer?" Ming-Hua asked.
"No. Cause a thought occurred to me. He said he and Zeus and Erinys were the last three gods left. She was just killed two days ago. Leaving him and Zeus left. So eventually he's gonna come after Kruger in a final desperate attack. Most likely be killed and absorbed. Making our job easier." Zaheer said.
"It makes sense." P'li said.
"So how long do we need to wait?" Ghazan asked.
"I promised to let Kruger spend time with his child so at least a couple months. Giving us plenty of time to set our trap." Zaheer said.
"I hope this works." Ming-Hua said.
"It will." Zaheer said. "Besides I got some things that will help out when the time is right." Zaheer said.
Authors Note: And Sean now has time to spend with his wife and child before confronting Zaheer and the Red Lotus. And of course Sean still needs to worry about Ra as Zeus is still good enough to stay good for his family. Now Next Chapter is gonna be exciting.
