Home Sweet Home:

After the death of Voldemort and the end of the war, witches and wizards all around the country began to bury their dead. There wasn't one magical person living in that country that hadn't lost someone, whether it was in the last few years since Voldemort's return, or in the years before he disappeared.

There were some, like Harry Potter, the saviour of he wizarding world, who had lost every person he considered family. First, was his parents, then he lost his godfather and last were the parents of his godson, Teddy Lupin.

Susan Bones was another. During the first war, she lost every member of her family apart from her aunt, Amelia Bones, who raised Susan. Just over a year ago, Amelia had been killed by Voldemort himself.

There were so many who died and now, there would only be half of the wizarding population left. Everyone was determined to move on, first was to lay their loved ones to rest, second, it was time to rebuild and third, it was time to make sure no other dark witch or wizard tried to take over.

The interim minister, Kingsley Shacklebolt, was voted in as full minister. He put together a new group of people who would now be the Wizengamot and all had been questioned with veritaserum. He also made sure he was questioned with the truth potion. No one wanted another dark witch or wizard to be part of the government. They had many meetings where they worked on new laws and threw out or re-did old laws, especially any law that favoured pure bloods. They all wanted a united wizarding world, without blood status involved at all.

The death eaters that survived, had their trials but now they were questioned using the truth potion. Memories were shown at their trials so the Wizengamot would see what the witnesses saw, death eaters torturing and killing people, including children. Many of them were sent to Azkaban but there were some, the more cruel and sadistic ones, they were sentenced to death by the veil in the department of mysteries.

Death eaters were not the only ones to face a trial, Cornelius Fudge and Dolores Umbridge also had to face the Wizengamot. It was Harry Potter's testimony that convicted the former minister for magic and his undersecretary. Cornelius received ten years in Azkaban for taking bribes from a known death eater, which put every life in danger. Dolores Umbridge was sentenced to life for sending dementors after Harry, for torture of students at Hogwarts by the use of a blood quill and for using unforgivables. Percy Weasley also had to face trial. He might have ended up helping fight death eaters but he had worked for Cornelius and Dolores and he did follow their orders even if they were against the law. He might have said he was just doing what his boss ordered him too, but as he was told, he knew the law so he should have went straight to the aurors. He didn't, so he was going to do three years for not coming forward with the information of crimes Cornelius and Dolores committed or crimes they ordered others to commit. Percy knew it had been his own fault. he always hoped working hard and following rules, he would eventually make his way up the ministry. He listened and followed the wrong people and now he was paying for his mistakes.

Every person who fought at the battle of Hogwarts or against anyone that supported Voldemort, was interviewed. Some of the interviews were short, some, like Harry Potter's, took weeks. He not only had to give statements about what he knew as fact about Voldemort and his death eaters, he had to give statements about what went on at Hogwarts during his years there. All the interviews and getting a new government was going to take months.

The new governors had heard a lot of rumours about things that happened at Hogwarts, now they were getting the facts, with memories as proof. All the memories that were used in court or by the governors were verified as it was proven that the memories had not been tampered with. Those were verified by an unspeakable and the head auror.

Once Harry Potter's official interview was over, the minister, the governors and the Wizengamot decided that Albus Dumbledore will no longer be known as a great wizard. They saw or heard so much about what Albus did do and what he didn't do. He placed students in danger every year that Harry was a student. He allowed students to be abused by a member of staff and he allowed Harry Potter, the-boy-who-lived to be abused for years by his muggle relatives. It had been on Albus's recommendation that Harry be placed with his muggle aunt and her family and not once did he have anyone check to see how he was treated. Albus Dumbledore might not be a dark wizard but he did like power and proved that by allowing people to be hurt and killed.

All the files about Albus Dumbledore were sealed so no one knew who gave the evidence against him. The minister did that to protect Harry along with a few others that gave damning information about the man.

Because of the information the governors got about Albus and Hogwarts, they decided that Minerva McGonagall would be stripped of her position as deputy head and head of house. She could remain at Hogwarts, only as a teacher, if she wished to. Filius Flitwick and Pomona sprout were also stripped of their position as head of house but they could keep their teaching position. They were great teachers, but they did not do anything about the bullying. The governors wanted to bring in people who would be there for their students and put their safety first.

One thing Harry Potter didn't do during these interviews, he never told anyone that Severus Snape had really been helping. He told what he saw, that Snape was a death eater and killed Albus Dumbledore. He also verbally abused and harassed three quarters of the students at Hogwarts. Snape supported the students who were related to death eaters which showed who he really supported. Harry mentioned how Snape had gone to use an unforgivable on him when he was escaping after Dumbledore's death. He was able to prove it with his memories. He finally gave the information that it was Severus Snape who went to Voldemort with the information about the prophecy, which sent Voldemort after the Potters. Snape would always be known as a murderer, a death eater and one of the people that caused the death of James and Lily Potter. Harry was not going to allow that man to be known as a hero or someone that helped the light side.

During this time, Harry had left the Burrow and got his own place. Molly Weasley tried to forbid him from moving, but as Harry reminded her, she was not his mother. If she thought of him as a son as she claimed, she would have removed him from an abusive household years before, when he needed to be removed. She supported Dumbledore and left Harry to the Dursley's punishment, so she had no right to try to tell him what he can or can't do. He was an adult now and didn't need anyone's help. From then on, things were tense at the Burrow. Harry only went there to visit his friends and his girlfriend, Ginny Weasley, who had talked Harry into dating again. Harry agreed to date again but this time it would start of slow but also because they were adults, it would be an adult relationship. Ginny knew exactly what that meant. What confused the girl was when her and Harry did have sex, he always got a room at the Hogs Head, yet he had his own place. Harry said for now, no one was going to know where he was living, he wanted privacy and he wanted some space.

Now six months later Ginny was working on her wedding to Harry. Even though he really thought they should take another year, at least, Ginny didn't want to wait at all. She wanted to be married before both of them returned to Hogwarts to do their final year. If they did return to Hogwarts as a married couple, they would be given their own quarters. One whole year was missed for Hogwarts due to the damage so there were many couples now that were going to return that had married. Harry had finally given in, but he did make a few stipulations about the wedding. First, no reporters, second, he didn't want it large. Third, he only wanted people he knew to be invited, unless they were a partner of an invited guest. That meant some of the Weasley and Prewett's would not be attending. Harry didn't know the extended Weasley family so he didn't want them at his wedding. Fourth, no ministry officials apart from Kingsley, who became friends with Harry over the last couple of years. Harry also wanted Fleur and Luna to be bridesmaids. Hermione would be the maid of honour, as she was one of Harry's best friends and she was also Ginny's best friend. Ron would be best man, Neville would be one of the groomsmen along with George. Again, Harry had become close to George and Neville. if Ginny wanted more, she could, as long as Harry knew the people she wanted. Ginny decided on just those six.

'We're going to need more money or we won't have a covering for the reception,' Ginny said as she stared down at the list of plans for the wedding.

'We set a budget, if we go over it then something will have to give. I said it won't be huge. What are you planning of getting rid of just to have a marquee?' Harry said staring at his girlfriend.

Ginny sighed, she had finally got to see just how stubborn Harry was, especially about the wedding and how much it will cost. She hoped he would give some more money but he just keeps going on about dropping things if she wanted something. He had even suggested that she have her mother make her wedding dress which would save money as wedding dresses were expensive. That was something Ginny would not do.

'Fine, I'll work something out but if it rains it's going to spoil the day.'

'Everyone will still get to have a party and we still get married. Beside, if it rains, then we just head inside. The Burrow is big enough for everyone.'

'Fine, did you get your dress robes?'

'I said I won't wear robes, I've got a nice suit. he belonged to my father, so I had it cleaned and resized it so it would fit. You know I always hated robes, so I'm not going to wear them at my wedding.'

Ginny growled low in her throat but she knew there was no use arguing. She figured since Ron, Neville and George were going to wear dress robes, Harry would change his mind. He hadn't and won't.

'When do I get to see our home?'

'On the wedding night. I've told you this before.'

'Why are you so determined to keep it hidden?'

'It's because I needed that space and privacy. After everything I've gone through, I wanted some time alone. It's only another few weeks.'

Ginny sighed again. No matter what she said or how she asked, Harry refused to tell her what their home was like. She didn't even know if it was a house, a cottage or even a flat. She didn't think it would be a flat as she knew Harry liked space and hated feeling confined so he would want something with a garden. Ginny hoped it had a lot of land so she would always have somewhere to practice quidditch. She still hoped to get picked by a professional team, but that would be only happen once she was back at Hogwarts. She had been surprised when Harry said he had decided to play quidditch, not just at Hogwarts but also professionally, if he got picked. He said after Voldemort was dead, he didn't want a life of fighting dark wizards anymore so he wouldn't be joining the aurors. He thought he would like to become a teacher, when he was older and after he had kids who had finished at Hogwarts. Ginny explained that she wanted to play for at least fifteen years, if she was lucky to get picked for a professional team. Harry said he was fine with that, he didn't want kids yet, ten years minimum, unless it happened by accident. Ginny always made sure to do the contraceptive charms so she wouldn't get pregnant.

Ginny was relieved the day she was getting married. She had woken up to a beautiful sunny day. Her dress was in Bill and Charlie's old room, along with the dresses for Hermione, Luna and Fleur. Harry was staying at the Hogs Head to get ready and would meet Ron, George and Neville at the burrow.

'Does that girl you're about to marry know about the tent?' Aberforth asked with raised eyebrows.

'No, I haven't told anyone I own and live in a tent, apart from you. Going through my vault showed me I just can't afford a proper home. Hopefully, if I am lucky enough to get picked for a quidditch team, I can either rent or buy a flat, but I would prefer a house, something with a garden. If Ginny gets picked up, then we should be able to buy a house. Once I explain to Ginny about the money, I'm sure she will understand. Neither of us working yet, so it's not like we can really afford to buy or rent anything. I just didn't want anyone to put pressure on me to stay at the Burrow. there is no way I'm going to be restricted in how I live now I'm about to be married.'

'And we both know Molly would butt in whenever she could.'

'We're still not getting on but I won't back down and she refuses to believe she did anything wrong.'

'That's my brother's influence, he probably added some convincing lies as well.'

'Yeah,' Harry sighed, 'Anyway, let's have one drink before we have to leave.'

Aberforth had stocked up on muggle alcohol. After the battle of Hogwarts, Harry had visited the pub a lot but he brought some muggle beer with him. They got talking and Harry showed Aberforth around the muggle world and showed him all the different types of alcohol the muggles had. With the amount of muggleborns or raised witches and wizards, more of them wanted muggle stuff. Having it at places like the Hogs Head that stocked up on muggle alcohol, meant they wouldn't need to go into the muggle world as often.

Once Harry arrived at the Burrow, he stared around at all the people who were there. Even though he still didn't like attention, which was mainly down to his scar and the-boy-who-lived. This time would be different, he was marrying the girl he loved.

Harry never told anyone but he wasn't sure what love was. He knew he cared a lot about Ginny and he cared for his friends. But since he had never felt love from anyone until he met Sirius, he wasn't sure if he ever would know if he loved someone or not. He liked being with Ginny, he liked kissing her and they did have a great sex life, he just wasn't sure if what he felt was love.

Ron saw Harry and rushed over to him, 'Ginny was beginning to panic. She thought you would have arrived earlier.'

'There was no use and I wanted to wait until the last minute to get dressed.'

'So that's your dad's muggle suit. Why would your dad own a muggle suit?'

'From what Sirius told me, mum liked to go to the theatre and movies. She would make dad take her and they would always have dinner before a show. Sirius did say my dad ended up loving it as much as mum. I still plan to take you pure bloods to a movie one day so you can see for yourselves just how great the movies are.'

'One day mate. Now go down the front, I'll go let my sister know you're here.'

Harry nodded then walked down between the isle of chairs to Neville and George who were standing near Kingsley. He greeted them before he glanced at all the guests.

Harry was glad he put his foot down about how many guests and who would be invited. Ginny wanted at least one reporter, Harry wouldn't have it. He hated them. He said luna could do a small piece about the wedding for the quibbler, which she did a few days ago. Ginny also wanted some of the teachers invited. Harry said no, he said since they never helped him with Snape or the danger that always happened at Hogwarts, he didn't want them at his wedding, not even Hagrid. He knew the Weasley family was large, with lots of cousins, aunts and uncles, but Harry didn't know them so he didn't want them there. The only compromise he had allowed was when Kingsley suggested a few hit wizards to guard around the property to stop anyone trying to sneak in and wards were done to stop anyone flying over on a broom or any animagus from sneaking in. Rita Skeeter might have been killed, but for all Harry knew, there were others around that could change into an animal. There was a professional photographer and they had agreed that the quibbler would release some wedding photo's.

Harry had stood with Ron, Neville and George for some pictures. There were a lot of random photo's of Harry talking with others before the photographer went inside. It was time for photo's of the bride, the bridesmaid, maid of honour and parents of the bride.

'So, you'll soon be related to the Weasley clan, even if it's by marriage. Do you think your life will change much?' Neville asked.

'I don't think so, I've been staying with the Weasley's for years, so really, the only difference will be is I'll visit for the day or for dinner, things like that but I won't be staying. So, did you bring a date?'

'Yes, Hannah agreed to be my date and she admitted she has liked me for a while.'

'Hannah and Susan are the only Hufflepuff's I like, they were also the only ones who apologised to me when Cedric told them I didn't enter the tournament. It's why I allowed their names to be added to the guest list. They are also the only ones who apologised after the heir of Slytherin shit in our second year.'

'Over the last week, I've overheard many we went to Hogwarts with complain that they weren't invited. They thought they were your friend or Ginny's friend.'

'I didn't want a huge spectacle so it was one of the things I told Ginny she would have to compromise on otherwise there would be no wedding. There might have been a few others I would have allowed, but then there would be a lot more people, by the time you had the plus one. There's enough here now.'

'My gran is already making lists for my wedding even if I'm not sure how long it will be before I marry. I've already said she will have to cut the number by half, at least. I've also told her no ministry officials, apart from the minister. I got to know him during those interviews.'

'Kingsley's a good bloke.'

'Glad you think so. But it's time mate,' Kingsley said.

'Time to take the dive,' George said as he joined Harry and Neville. Ron hurried over to stand beside Harry. Molly hurried to take her seat in the front row.

Like with all weddings, everyone stood the moment they heard the music. Fleur walked out first. Bill couldn't help whistling as his wife walked past. Luna walked out next and she received a few whistles. Hermione came next and Harry laughed as he pushed Ron's mouth shut which of course made everyone laugh. Arthur led Ginny out and she was wearing a traditional white wedding gown. Harry kept thinking to himself that Ginny had the figure to go with a more modern gown but he knew her mother would never allow it. It was probably Molly Weasley's idea for Ginny to wear a full covering old fashioned white gown. She had no idea that Harry and Ginny had already been having sex so Ginny wasn't a virgin. Many brides still wore white just because it was tradition. Harry just wished the gown was a bit more modern. it was still beautiful, just a bit old fashioned.

The wedding was beautiful but not long. It was one thing Harry didn't want, was a long ceremony. He knew he was basically dictating everything about the wedding but since it was Ginny's idea to get married now instead of after they finish Hogwarts, he knew she would give in since she would know Harry wouldn't give in.

Harry felt like he would never see again with the amount of photo's that he had to stand for. The flash from the camera never stopped. The newly married couple were finally able to join their guests in the marquee. Harry found out that bill and charlie had paid for the marquee when they found out that Harry and Ginny's wedding budget wouldn't cover it.

Even though Harry still felt they could have had the reception out in the open. He did admit that it looked nice and the decorates were beautiful.

It was nearly two in the morning before Harry and Ginny were able to leave. Since this was the first real celebration since the end of the war, everyone wanted to party. The happy couple went around and say goodbye to their guest. Molly surprised Harry when he hugged her and wished them all the happiness. Just as she let him go, she did say she was looking forward to seeing the house Harry had bought that he would be sharing with Ginny. Harry never bothered correcting her. She would find out soon enough just what type of home Harry and Ginny had.

Harry held Ginny's hand, 'The moment we arrived, you'll be inside the fidelius charm. I spoke with Kingsley and he explained how I can give permission without having to write a note. So, are you ready to go home gin?'

'Past ready.'

The happy couple gave the crowd one last wave before Harry took Ginny by side-along apparition.

When Ginny opened her eyes, as she hated apparition, she was facing what looked like a tent.

'I thought we would be going to the home you bought.'

'We are and I never said what our home would be. I can't afford to buy or rent a place, so I bought a decent size tent. I studied up on charms to help protect the tent and us from the weather. Once we're inside, we won't feel the cold or heat.'

'We're going to live in a tent?'

'Yes, neither of us work Gin, the hero business pays shit, so what did you expect?'

'But I was told you had money left to you by your parents.'

'Enough for Hogwarts and maybe a year after, but there isn't much of that left. I haven't got enough to buy a house. I don't even have enough to buy a small flat, which I wouldn't ever live in. It's why I kept saying we had to stick to the budget.'

'We could have moved into Grimmauld place instead of a tent.'

'I will never live there. I plan to strip it and leave it. are you coming in?'

Ginny wasn't sure what to do, she always dreamt of marrying Harry and having a beautiful big house. Now here she was, living in a tent. She had some serious thinking to do and some plans to work on so she would get the home of her dreams. But not tonight. it was her wedding night, even if she was having it in a tent. Harry never mentioned a honeymoon, she just figured he was going to surprise her. Now she realised that Harry really didn't have any money, so no house and no honeymoon.

By the time Harry walked out of the bedroom the following day, it was after twelve. The first thing he noticed was there was no sign of Ginny. He checked the bathroom and the other bedroom, no sign of her so he went outside again he couldn't see her. He called her name but got no answer.

'Maybe she left things at the Burrow and went to get them,' Harry shrugged then walked into the kitchen to make himself some breakfast. He didn't know it but Ginny was at the Burrow, not to pick up anything but to talk to her parents and brothers about where she now lived.

'But the potters had money,' Molly said, 'He should have enough to buy a home.'

'He said he has enough to get through Hogwarts and maybe a year after but that's it. He said he couldn't even afford a small flat. If that's right, then he doesn't have enough.'

'Maybe the Potter's didn't have as much as we thought. For all we know, James Potter may have given money to help fight the war. They were members of the order of the phoenix and from what I know, neither James nor Lily worked, except for the order and they were in hiding right after Harry had been born, so they couldn't work,' Arthur said.

'If he doesn't have money Gin, then it makes sense about the tent. He couldn't afford to pay rent since neither of you are working. Both of you want to return to Hogwarts and do you last year. You're also hoping to get picked up by one of the professional quidditch teams,' Bill said.

'They don't pay much to begin with either. I mean if you make the reserve team, both of you, it still wouldn't be enough to rent a house, maybe a small flat, but that's all,' Charlie said.

'I always dreamed of having a beautiful house to go to after my honeymoon. I'm not getting the house or a honeymoon,' Ginny huffed. 'How long after playing, if we both get picked, would we be able to pay for a house?'

'Years, you'd be looking at seven to ten years to afford a house,' Charlie said, 'It's the main reason I didn't take up the offer to play. The pay isn't that good until you're a first string and get a name. I heard a rumour, seems it's not true, but someone said that Harry would get a big reward for killing…him.'

'Kingsley told Harry that all of us will get medals, like the order of merlin but it doesn't come with any type of reward,' Hermione said.

'It's why Hermione and I said we would wait to get married. We have to return to Hogwarts for one more year, then begin working. We both said that we wanted to begin our married life in our own place, even if it's rented,' Ron said.

Ginny was upset but she tried not to let anyone know. Nothing was going as she hoped or planned. Now she was married but would be living in a tent for up to ten years, maybe five if Harry used his fame. So far, he refused. she tried to get him to use his fame to help their futures, he completely cut her off. She thought if they got married then spoke with some of the quidditch managers, they might allow them onto a team now, instead of returning to Hogwarts. Harry said he will never use his fame to get anything. He wanted to be treated like everyone else and he wanted to do his last year at Hogwarts. Now she had no idea what to do.

Harry was sitting on one of the chairs outside the tent. He had a beer in his hand while he stared around at the forest. He liked the peace and quiet which is why he picked this place to put the tent.

He just took a drink of his beer when Ginny appeared, 'I wasn't sure where you were or if you'd be back.'

'There were a few things I had to get from the Burrow,' Ginny couldn't tell Harry how disappointed she was. She wasn't sure if she could put up with living in a tent, so she had to make Harry believe everything was fine, until she could decide what to do.

Ginny realised being married to Harry wasn't what she thought it would be like. She hated the fact they lived in a tent but now she finds out that Harry doesn't like to go out. He said he would visit friends, but he wasn't going to go to pubs or clubs. He liked the quiet life. He did make sure to say she could do what she wanted so if she wanted to go out, she could, he just wouldn't be going with her. He had told her that when they began dating again, Ginny just figured Harry needed time. He was still the same.

It was only a month after they were married that Ginny said she just couldn't live in a tent and hated the fact that they never went out. She was of age and lived like someone who was old. She went out alone once and everyone just kept asking where Harry was. Even though she tried to explain why she was alone, many began to whisper and point at her as if she'd done something wrong and their marriage was already in trouble.

Ginny couldn't take it anymore, she finally told Harry she was leaving to return to the Burrow. Harry instantly said he would file for divorce if she left. At first, Ginny was shocked that Harry would go that far, but Harry said if his wife didn't want to live with him, then the marriage was over. Ginny wasn't sure if she should leave, if she did, it would mean she would lose Harry. She just knew she couldn't stay living in a tent in the middle of a forest. She also didn't like the fact that Harry wouldn't allow anyone to visit. If Ginny wanted to see her family or friends, she could visit them. Harry didn't want anyone invading his space.

It took Ginny only until the following morning before she decided this was not the life she wanted. She packed everything she owned and walked out of the tent. Harry was once again sitting with a beer in his hand.

'Last chance. if you leave, then it's over for good.'

'I can't live like this, I just can't,' Ginny hurried past the charm, then apparated. She didn't want Harry to see her break down. She didn't know that by the time she had hurried into the Burrow, Harry had arrived at the ministry to file for divorce. Magical marriages were different to muggle marriages. Magic bonded the couple during the ceremony. When you want to divorce, the bonding broke instantly, which meant the divorce was finalised instantly.

When Harry left the ministry, he was once again a single man. He knew the news would leak quickly but he hoped to get a few things done before it ended up on the front page of the Daily Prophet.

Even though harry didn't go into places like Diagon alley very much, because he hated the attention he got. He knew now was a good time to get some things done. Harry went to Gringotts to get a statement on how much he actually had, it was so he could work out how long the money might last. He needed it to last until he finished Hogwarts and it would all depend on if he got picked to play quidditch. It would also depend on how long it might take before he ended up on the first string team, if he ended up good enough. His name would instantly have him earning more because it would bring more people to watch their games. But he wanted to be treated like everyone else, which meant starting on the reserve team and that wouldn't happen until after he finished at Hogwarts. Harry wanted to finish his education but he also wanted one year at Hogwarts where he wasn't put in danger or fighting for his life.

When Harry got back to the tent, he cancelled the fidelius charm, the recast it. This was now going to be a place that only he could get into, at least for now. After finding out from the goblins that he had two other vaults, then studied what he had, he did a lot of thinking. He knew no one would ever know just how much money he had.

'Well, I can buy a house and put that under the fidelius charm and keep the tent for visitors, that way no one would realise I had money,' Harry stared around at the tent and decided that's what he would do. He would buy a home, in the country but in a muggle area. He would keep the tent for visitors. He would just need to come to the tent at least once a fortnight to clean it and make sure it's still kept in good condition. He also decided to build a structure over the tent which would keep it protected. Then he thought he might just buy a small one bedroom flat to use for visitors. He could make it seem like he got it really cheap since it needed a lot of work. He could think on that later. He could use the tent for now.

Harry decided to have the day by himself so he could think things over. He was rich but he didn't want anyone to know. Ginny proved she wouldn't stay with him because he didn't have money. If she knew, she would want them back together again. Harry also knew that Molly and maybe some of the other Weasley's would want Harry to give Ginny another go and buy them a house.

'No, it seems she thought I had money which is why she married me. She found out I didn't, so she left. No, Ginny had her chance, she's not getting another.'

This was one of the reasons Harry decided not to tell anyone he had money. If he ended up dating again, he wanted the girl to like him for him, not money or fame. Right now, no one in the wizarding world apart from the goblins, knew just how much money Harry had.

It only took Harry a few weeks to find and buy his home. Being done in the muggle world meant it would take a while before he could move in, so he decided to get a storage shed and begin to buy furniture. He could shrink most everything he bought, which would leave plenty of room. The first thing Harry did was go to the house in Godric's Hollow. He decided to see what his parents furniture was like and whether it was worth keeping. He wanted some pictures from the house to take to his new home so whether he liked the furniture or not, he needed to go to the house to get the pictures.

During this time, Hermione and Ron had visited. both said they understood why he didn't tell anyone about the tent. Ron actually said if his mother knew she would try to force them to live at the burrow.

'This was one of the reasons why I tried to get Ginny to understand that we should wait. We both have to finish Hogwarts and we both hoped to get picked to play quidditch. We might not get picked but even if we do, the pay isn't that good, enough to pay for rent on a flat if we both got picked, yet I wouldn't want to live in a flat. This tent is better than a flat. It's a lot bigger and there is a lot of space outside but still inside the charm.'

'We understand Harry and this tent is a good size with plenty of room. I noticed the runes, some are for weather and some for protection. There's also a muggle repelling charm.'

'Yeah, so it could be freezing outside, but it's nice in here and it also has a fireplace. It's why I paid a bit more for it. I figured it would make a good home, to start with and it would last a few years. I was thinking about building a structure over it, that way it will last a long longer.'

'Did you really say that the hero business pays shit,' Ron said but with a smirk.

Harry laughed, 'Yeah, and it's true, you risk your life and don't get paid. I mean, I didn't do any of it in the hope I would get money. It was the right thing to do but it doesn't help me live like others our age who remain at home until they are working. I didn't have a home so I needed money which meant I could only afford this tent. Oh, I just thought I should tell you that if you turn up, I won't always be here. I plan to see things now I can. I plan to go to France next week. I always wanted to visit the Louvre. That won't take much money as it's just a trip through the tunnel, then I can apparate. I also want to see Stonehenge.'

'It makes sense that you would want to visit places you always wanted. It would probably be best to send you a letter first,' Hermione said.

'Yeah, it would, then we can work on a day to visit.'

The three friends talked for a while, Hermione and Ron even stayed for lunch. Harry had at one time thought of telling them about the money and his home. But he really didn't want Ron to feel awkward, like he always did, or for them to say he could give Ginny another chance. He couldn't take the chance that Ginny only wanted to marry him because she thought he had money. It was not worth the risk so this was going to be one secret he doesn't share with his two best friends.

During the next few months, Harry did visit many placed. That was another secret he would not be sharing. He made Hermione and Ron believe he was only going to sight see around Great Britain, he could apparate to the places he wanted to visit. It was the same with France, he could just get a train then apparate around the country. But he planned to go to many countries while he had the chance.

Every time he returned home, he couldn't help smiling at his home. He had finally finished furnishing it and most of the furniture belonged to his parents. Every bit of furniture in the house had been in good condition and Harry really liked it, apart from his old baby stuff. His home also had many pictures around the walls, those were also taken from the house in Godric's Hollow. He might have money but he liked all his parents furniture. He had begun to work on turning one of the bedrooms in a library. He had taken every book from his parents home to his home. He also took some books from Grimmauld place. He didn't take the really dark books but he did take some. He took all the books that weren't dark but he still wanted to study some of the dark arts books mainly so he would know what they did and what they looked like. He wanted to study up on more dark arts so he would recognise them if another dark wizard turned up.

Harry wasn't surprised when the Hogwarts letters arrived and he was given the captain's badge for Gryffindor. He had been captain last time he was at Hogwarts and he had been on the team the longest so he expected to be captain again. He was surprised to see the head boy badge, then he realised he shouldn't have been. He did kill Voldemort and was now known as the saviour of the wizarding world. It did make him curious about the head girl. He figured it would be Hermione but he also knew the head girl had to be someone any of the students felt comfortable approaching. Some pure-bloods might not have wanted Voldemort to win but they still didn't like muggleborns. There were also those that just didn't like Hermione because of how bossy she came across. Some were just intimidated by her intelligence. She did help him with Voldemort and was known as one of the hero's of the war but it still didn't make her likeable to many students. He decided not to find out and just wait and see who was head girl once he got onto the Hogwarts express. He knew there were plenty inside Hogwarts that didn't like him, yet he got the badge. He realised that no matter who they chose, they would not be liked by some of the students.

Harry made sure he wasn't seen because he knew reporters would be looking for him. Dozens of reporters were crowding platform nine and three quarters hoping to see the saviour. Harry had already got himself contact lenses so he didn't wear glasses anymore, but he decided to get coloured contacts to hide the colour of his eyes. He had used a hair colour charm to change the colour of his hair, he planned to remove the charm once he was on the train. He used some makeup to cover his scar, in case his hair moved. So, a brown eyed, blond haired, no scar Harry was able to sneak past all the reporters and get onto the Hogwarts express without anyone seeing Harry Potter. They would be looking for someone with glasses and black hair. The moment he got into a compartment, he removed the hair colour charm and changed his contacts so his normal green eyes returned. He figured he would wait for a while to see if Hermione and Ron made it before he went to the prefects compartment.

When Harry realised that the Weasley's would probably only arrived right before the train left, Harry figured since he was head boy, he should get to the prefects compartment. When he entered, he saw almost all the prefects, then saw the badge for the head girl on Susan Bones' robes.

'I kept trying to figure out who would be head girl, you were one I thought could be.'

'I was surprised, I thought it would be either Hermione or Greengrass. both of them are the top students in our year.' Susan said.

'We believe neither of them were picked due to their…well, reputations and attitude,' Padma said, 'Even though Daphne Greengrass wasn't a supporter, she is still a Slytherin and they aren't trusted by most of the students. We think with Hermione, it's because a lot of students just don't like her because of how she talks down to people. Sorry Harry,' Padma shrugged.

'Don't be, she sometimes gets on my nerves and I have to tell her she's doing it again before she stops. They should be here by now, Hermione and Ron were prefects,' Harry looked at his new watch, 'Two minutes before the train leaves. Usually, the Weasley's arrived five minutes before.'

'Let's give them another couple of minute, then we'll start the meeting,' Susan said.

They ended up waiting until the train began to move before Harry and Susan began the meeting. They did not have to patrol the train since the new minister felt it was dangerous and irresponsible to leave all the students on a train without some type of adult supervision. Even though most of the seventh years were classed as adults, the minister felt they needed someone with experience. An auror was patrolling the train. Harry and Susan mainly talked over the duties that the prefects had to do at Hogwarts then gave them their schedules.

Once the meeting finished, Harry left the compartment and headed back to the one he left his trunk in. He found Hermione and Ron sitting there with Neville and luna.

'How come you two weren't at the prefects meeting?' Harry asked as he sat down.

'I handed my badge in. I realised I'm going to need all the time I have to catch up,' Ron shrugged.

'I knew I wouldn't have time to do what the prefects have to as I will be spending all my spare time in the library. I sent my badge back a few days ago.' Hermione said.

Harry had a feeling by the way Hermione was sitting that she wasn't being truthful. She was upset that she didn't get the head girl badge. The others were right, a lot of people are put off by the way Hermione speaks. He decided that for now he wouldn't mention it but he didn't like the fact that Hermione had lied to him.

'There weren't any Gryffindor prefects in there except for Dennis and Elizabeth, the fifth year prefects.'

'McGonagall might not have decided who would replace us,' Ron said.

'Even though she is not headmistress, she is still our head of house, I suppose we'll find out when we arrived.'

'So, who is head girl?' Neville asked but noticed Hermione stiffened. He wasn't the only one to notice, Harry also noticed which told him he was right.

'Susan Bones. She's one of the top students and she's liked by everyone, well, almost everyone. It is impossible for everyone to like everyone else. Many had either Greengrass picked or Hermione.'

'As I said, I knew I wouldn't have time,' Hermione said stiffly.

'Why do you think Greengrass wasn't chosen to be head girl?' Neville asked.

'Probably cause she's a Slytherin,' Ron said.

'She may be a Slytherin but she never supported Voldemort and I know she hated Malfoy. She was the only Slytherin who never gave me a hard time. But I do know that many still won't trust a Slytherin, so it makes sense to pick a girl that gets along with most students and from all houses.'

'Susan's great, we grew up together, sort of. We spent a lot of time together over the years.'

'I heard she ended up living with her friend, Hannah Abbott after her aunt was killed. I didn't want to ask her.'

'She did, but she eventually moved into Bones manor. she needed to begin working on the house so it suits her. Her aunt didn't change anything from when Susan's grandparents lived there.'

'I didn't know the Bones had money,' Ron said.

'They are one of the oldest families in the wizarding world. She's the last. I know she will want at least one of her kids to be named Bones, to keep the name going and she will want or hope it to be the first born. I'm sure she would be fine no matter what, as long as one of the children keeps the name Bones.' Neville said.

'She should. It's an old family and enough families have died out. It's like you and me Neville, we're the last, so we have to have at least a few kids so our names continue on.' Harry said.

'I always hoped to have four kids, if I find the right girl. If she's from a family like Susan, then one could take on the wife's name.' Neville said.

'I wouldn't mind four, but I really don't care if I have one or ten, as long as I have kids. I do want the first to be named Potter so it will have to be two minimum.' Harry said.

'What if you get married and find out the woman your married to can't get pregnant?' Hermione asked.

'Tests are done beforehand with most old families. I've already had my tests done and the girl I marry will have hers done right after we're engaged. I can't marry unless the woman can conceive,' Neville said blushing brightly.

'I did but I also had the healers make me sterile until I'm ready for a family.'

'Why would you do that?' Ron blurted out loudly.

'Because so many women kept trying to slip me love potions. I don't want to take the chance of getting some woman pregnant. I told you about the two women when I stayed at the Hogs Head. I knew that was going to happen which is why I spoke with a healer. There was a couple more when I went to France. We know accidents can happen. I want kids, but not for a few years.'

'I get you there mate, I don't want kids yet,' Neville said.

Even though the friends spoke for the entire trip to Hogwarts, Hermione was the one who hardly spoke. Harry knew that Hermione was upset she wasn't chosen as head girl. He always knew she wanted it and she didn't get it. She probably expected to be head girl as she was equal number one in their year alongside Daphne Greengrass. Hermione helped during the war so again, she probably expected the badge. Harry knew it came down to the way she acted which was why she wasn't picked. She made the excuse that she wouldn't have time to do the duty of head girl. He was disappointed in Hermione because she had basically lied to him and he hated it when people lie to him.

Harry knew he would be stretched for time, which is why he was only taking four classes. Defence against the dark arts, charms, transfiguration and care of magical creatures. He was only taking creatures to spend time with Hagrid. Even though Snape wasn't around anymore, the man had turned him right off potions. History of magic and astronomy were now an electives so he dropped them the moment he found out. But only taking four classes would give him time to do his duty as head boy and quidditch captain. If he did end up stretched for time, he would drop care of magical creatures. He only returned to just have one year where he wasn't in danger and also he hoped to get picked up by one of the quidditch teams. He would be happy to get newt in just those four classes.

When the train arrived at Hogsmeade station, Harry and Susan gathered all the first years and took them over to Hagrid and introduced him. Harry explained that Hagrid was a good person and he would make sure they had a nice trip in the boats. Even though Harry was disappointed in all the staff at Hogwarts, he still liked Hagrid. it was seeing that smile on the big face, it was the first time someone smiled at him. He just couldn't help still feeling close to the half giant.

Harry and Susan ended up in the last carriage with Neville and luna. Harry knew Hermione didn't want to see the badge on Susan so she would have hurried onto one of the first carriages. Since Ron was dating Hermione, he would go with her and not wait for him. Harry didn't mind. they were all adults now and had parts of their lives that was separate from their friends.

Harry, Susan, Neville and Luna were the last to enter the great hall. All eyes turned to Harry, which he expected. He just said goodbye to Susan and Luna then went to sit with Neville. They sat opposite to Hermione and Ron. Harry was glad he wasn't facing the rest of the students, he didn't want to see everyone staring at him. It was then that he noticed who was sitting in the head's chair, Griselda Marchbanks was now the headmistress.

Harry noticed Ginny who seemed to be going out of her way to ignore him. She was sitting right at the other end of the table with the other girls in her year. He still didn't know if she only married Harry because she thought he had money. Her actions told him she did. He shook those thoughts from his head, that relationship was done, over, he just hoped he did end up finding someone that wanted him for him.

When dinner was done and the announcements were finished, Hermione basically ran from the great hall. Harry gave Ron a look that told him he knew what was going on and he wasn't happy that Hermione lied to him. Ron just shrugged and walked with the other boys up to the dorm while Harry and Susan made sure all the prefects were doing their duties. Once the first years and prefects left, the head boy and girl met with the headmistress.

'Alright, you two know your duties, it's time to get some sleep. Mr Potter, could you remain for a few minutes?' Griselda asked.

Harry nodded, Susan said goodbye and left the great hall, 'Is something wrong Professor?'

'No Mr Potter. I just wanted to explain why Miss Granger was not given the head girl badge.'

'Her attitude would have to be the main reason,' Harry shrugged.

'Yes, exactly. She may be intelligent but she also does have a habit of talking down to people or using words that most first and second years would not understand. She also comes across a bit intimidating when she's angry, which means most first and second years would not approach her if there was a problem. They would end up speaking with a teacher. The head girl and boy are there for the students so they need to be approachable. There is also another reason why Miss Granger was not given this privileged. The staff and I talked at length and felt Miss Granger would use her status as head girl to try to convert people into believing what she believes. Miss Granger forgets this is the wizarding world, it is not the muggle world. She also did not do enough research when she was trying to free house elves. If a house elf is free, they will slowly lose their magic until they die. A free elf will live half their normal life. We are lucky that none of the house elves she tried to free ended up free.'

'I had a feeling it wouldn't work but I also knew she would not listen to me. I mean if it was as easy as leaving clothes lying around then there wouldn't be a house elf at Hogwarts.'

'Exactly. The house elves collect all our clothes. It seems Miss Granger did not use her intelligence when she tried to free house elves. Now that I am headmistress I was able to question the portraits and I knew they would have to tell me the truth. I did find out from Professor Dumbledore that he did tell Miss Granger she would end up head girl. He gave her a promise that she would be head girl. Professor McGonagall never agreed to making Mr Weasley a prefect but the headmaster made that decision. You deserved to be prefect for saving everyone's lives when you killed the basilisk. Hogwarts almost closed, the first time in history that would have happened and you prevented that. Professor McGonagall explained how disappointed with Albus she was when he named Mr Weasley as prefect. I know I am after I went through all the students records.'

Harry stared up at the new headmistress and something clicked in his mind, 'I believe I know why Ron was given the badge and not me. During those weeks before my fifth year, I was stuck at the Dursley's with no letters or information. Dumbledore said it was for safety. When I arrived at headquarters, I was angry, really angry. I stopped talking to anyone but I was listening. I noticed that Ron and Hermione seemed very different and would often be anywhere I was. It was like they didn't want me alone. I used to sneak into Sirius' bedroom just to get some peace and quiet.'

'I believe you are on the same page as Professor McGonagall. after I found out a lot of information, I also believe the same. He offered them the badges if they would...keep an eye on you.'

'Spy on me more like,' Harry grumbled, 'Anyway, that's over. right now, Ron knows I'm angry with Hermione because she lied to me and they both know that I've forgiven then a few times and there won't be another. I would like to get one year here where nothing happens. I will basically ignore them if it comes to that.'

'It might be for the best. But tell me, what did Miss Granger lie about?'

'The badge and why she handed it in. She said she wouldn't have time as she would be spending all her time in the library. When Neville was talking to me about Susan, after I said she was head girl, Hermione was very tense and you could see it on her face that she was angry. She did send back the badge after our letters came, didn't she?'

'She did, it was the following day I received both their badges. Now one last thing before you can get some sleep. Even though it's not really my business, I would like to know. this marriage, what happened?'

'Ginny didn't like the fact that I couldn't buy her a house or take her on a honeymoon. She thought I had money and a lot of it.'

'You do have money.'

'Yeah, but at the time I didn't know that so I bought a large tent to live in. I wasn't going to live with the Weasley's after I was married so I figured a large tent would work. She didn't like that. Anyway, she told me she couldn't handle the fact she would have to live in a tent, I told her that I will file for divorce. That seemed to shock her. But I told her if my wife wasn't going to live with me than we won't be married. She left, I went straight to the ministry. When I finished there, single again, I finally went to Gringotts. they told me about my other vaults. I knew nothing about them. I thought I had the small vault and that's all. The goblins told me that was a trust vault as I couldn't touch the others until I turned seventeen. Anyway, I bought a house but I've made everyone believe I still live in the tent. I knew if Ginny and the others knew about the money, they would want me to give her another chance. I'm not sure if she wanted to marry me for her real feelings or if it was for the money. She hated the fact I wouldn't use my fame to get us try-outs for quidditch teams. I always said I want to come back here and finish my education before quidditch, if I get picked up.'

'After hearing and reading the facts about you it gave me a lot of information. I believe miss Weasley mixed up her feelings for you. You were her childhood hero then you became her real hero when the chamber of secrets opened. She may like you Harry but I do not believe she loved you. I'm not even sure she knows how she feels about you.'

'I think you're right Professor. It's why I'm keeping my finances a secret.'

'Well, I believe that is the best decision. You know I will not reveal any of this. now, I believe it's bed time, for both of us.'

Harry gave her a cheeky smile, 'Good night...headmistress.'

Griselda chuckled, 'Good night...Mr Potter.'

Harry laughed as he turned and left the great hall. Griselda smiled as she watched Harry leave before she finally headed to her rooms. She had been studying students files for weeks and Harry Potter's was the most surprising. Now she was seeing what the real young man was like and not what she had heard from others.

Harry looked around the head boy room and smiled. Apart from having some privacy and not have to put up with anyone staring at his scar, he wouldn't have to put up with Ron's snoring or Seamus talking in his sleep. Harry had gotten used to sleeping alone, apart from the month he was married to Ginny. He knew that all married couples had to get used to each other, but for now, he had his own bedroom and he was able to use the bathroom meant only for prefects along with the head boy and girl.

Harry met Susan early the following morning. They wanted to be on hand in case any of the first years needed anything. Once they saw that the house prefects had showed the first years to the great hall, Harry and Susan went to their house tables.

'We didn't see you in the common room,' Ron said as Harry sat down.

'I went straight to the head boy room and went straight to sleep. I figured you would have went to bed.'

'I did, I always get tired after the feast.'

'Same,' Harry began to dish up his breakfast. He didn't say hello to Hermione and he could see her glancing at him. He ignored her.

Right at the end of breakfast, the heads of house were handing out the student's schedules.

'What are these charms a, b and c?' Ron asked as he stared up at McGonagall.

'Students are now separated into three different classes, even if you have the same teacher, it's just smaller classes now. We felt it will benefit the students. There are other reasons apart from making the classes smaller. Some students just cannot get on and it's disruptive. Also, you get some students who will continuously talk to their friends, which also disrupts the class. I'm sure you can see that you and Mr Potter have different class for charms, the same with the other subjects. It also means that what you will learn will not be the same as Mr Potter. Too many students use their friendship to cheat. Sometimes a student does not know a friend has copied their work. now, it would not help.'

'I think it's a great idea professor. So many times Lavender and Parvati kept whispering and it was annoying, so much so that I couldn't concentrate,' Harry said.

'Yes, if Miss Brown survived, she would not be in the same class as Miss Patil. Now finish your breakfast so you can get to your first class.'

'Tt's strange that we won't be in the same class,' Ron said.

'It's not like we could hang out or anything. We're in there to learn, we'll just have to play chess in the evenings,' Harry smirked at Ron who laughed as he nodded.

Harry went back to his breakfast and again, he noticed Hermione kept glancing at him. He still hadn't said a word to her and she wasn't sure why.

Harry finished breakfast first, he had a free hour so he decided to head to the library. He wanted to read ahead of his lessons, all his lessons.

Hermione watched Harry leave before she turned to her boyfriend, 'What's up with Harry?'

'What do you mean?'

'He never said good morning to me or even spoke to me.'

Ron sighed. He had been waiting for this to happen, 'He knew you lied to him and he's pissed off. You know how he is when he knows someone has lied to him.'

'I didn't lie to him.'

'That's bullshit Hermione. We know you only handed in your prefect badge because you didn't get head girl. You told Harry that you wouldn't have time, yet he knew the truth. I don't appreciate you lying to me either. Now I have to get to class,' Ron got and left his girlfriend sitting at the Gryffindor table.

'It seems you are going to throw away your friend and boyfriend because you won't admit you lied,' Neville said then got up and left the great hall.

Hermione sat there for ages going over what Ron and Neville said. She was still sitting there when the bell rang. She realised she had been sitting in the great hall, alone, for an hour. She hurried to her first class but she knew she would need to speak with Ron and she would have to speak with Harry. She would not get time until after their last class of the day.

It took three days before Hermione finally saw Harry. Every time she went to speak with him either in the common room or the great hall, he wasn't there. She had patched things up with Ron but he was still disappointed in her for lying. One thing that Ron said to Hermione, he wasn't sure Harry would forgive her, not again. After the Firebolt in third year, the way she acted in sixth year and how she kept saying there wouldn't be a horcrux at Hogwarts, Harry might finally say enough.

Harry had just finished his charms homework when he was putting away his books when he saw Hermione standing near the table he had been using. He again didn't say anything, just began to pack up his books, ink and quill.

'I'm sorry.'

'Why are you sorry?' Harry asked but he didn't look at her, just kept packing his things.

Hermione took a few deep breaths, 'I'm sorry for lying about why I handed in the prefect badge.'

'Why did you hand it in?'

Hermione went to huff then realised she had no right to get upset for what Harry asked.

'Because I didn't get the head girl badge.'

Harry nodded then finally looked up, 'I want the truth about something before I decide if we'll still be friends.'

'I promise I won't lie to you again.'

'Did Dumbledore tell you to spy on me? He may not have used the word spy, he may have said you were to keep an eye on me. Did he?'

Hermione's eyes widened, 'No, how can you ask that?'

Harry's eyes flashed, 'You're a lying bitch Hermione. I gave you one more chance and you didn't take it. I know for a fact he told you to and I thought he did back in our fifth year. I finally got proof. Now you are going to stay the hell away from me...Granger,' Harry picked up his bag, slung it over his shoulder and walked past a very shocked Hermione.

'Harry, is something wrong?'

Harry turned to see Susan, 'No, just the end of a friendship. I hate liars and she did twice within a week. It's done. I've put up with a lot from her, no more.'

Susan moved closer, 'Even though everyone has seen Hermione and Ron dating, many thought it wouldn't last and you two would eventually get together.'

'I never looked at her in a romantic way.'

'I'm sure many girls will like hearing that,' Susan smiled then turned to walk away, 'I know I am,' she said then basically ran down the corridor.

Harry stared after Susan, thinking about what she said, 'Does that mean she likes me?'

'I believe so young man.'

Harry looked up at the portrait, smiled then he began heading back to his room. All he could think about was Susan and the fact that she just might like him. Harry liked her as a friend, a good friend but he had been so involved with Voldemort for years that he never really spent time with any other girls apart from Hermione and Ginny. He didn't even spend time with Lavender and Parvati and there Gryffindor's. Maybe now was the time to see if there was another girl out there that suited him and he would start with Susan, since they had recently become friends.

One thing he knew if he ended up dating Susan, she wouldn't be after him for his money. The bones family were loaded, she would have a lot more than him. She never treated him any differently because of the-boy-who-lived or saviour, so again, she wouldn't want him just because of his reputation.

Harry couldn't help smiling as he turned and continued on his way to his room. It was nearly dinner time, he wanted to have a beer, that he snuck in before he joined the rest of the students. Harry also wanted it to be known that he was no longer friends with Hermione. He wanted her to be in the great hall first so he could sit away from her. If she wasn't there, he would just sit beside Neville.

Harry entered the great hall but instead of heading straight for the Gryffindor table, he went to the Hufflepuff table. He got close to Susan and whispered.

'I wouldn't mind spending some time alone with you, if you are interested.'

Susan blushed but she did nod, 'I would. How about after dinner?'

'I'll wait for you,' Harry grinned then walked over to where Neville was sitting. He noticed straight away that Hermione wasn't in the great hall.

'Hermione ran into the common room and we all noticed she was crying. She hasn't left her dorm room,' Neville said, 'Ron tried to get her to come out, she wouldn't. Do you know what's going on with her?'

'Yep, after apologising for lying, I asked her something and she instantly lied again. I told her we're done, I even called her a bitch and called her Granger. I won't put up with people lying to me, especially not a friend.'

'I don't blame you. After what you and Ron said about her lying, I told her she was throwing away her friend and boyfriend because she couldn't admit she was wrong. I wonder why it took her days to finally apologise.'

'Probably because I wasn't around the common room and we don't share classes. Do you know if Ron said anything about why she was crying?'

'He said it had to have something to do with you but he wasn't positive so he wanted to talk to her before asking you. He's not here either, yet he normally never skips a meal.'

'He might have gone to the kitchens to get something but also have the elves take...her something.'

Harry never saw either Ron or Hermione over the next couple of days. But he did spend his free time with Susan and they also ended up snogging, a lot. By the end of the week, everyone knew that Harry and Susan were dating because they had been seeing kissing, many times. They finally realised they should be more discrete so they spent time either in the head boy room or head girl room.

There were many girls upset that Harry Potter was dating Susan Bones. They all hoped for a chance with him when they read that his marriage to Ginny Weasley had ended just over a month after they got married. Now he was dating the pretty red head with the big boobs.

Ginny was upset. Even though Harry divorced her, she hoped if they both got picked to play quidditch, he might give her another chance and they afford a proper home. with Harry dating Susan, that told her Harry had moved on and he wasn't even thinking of Ginny.

It took another month before Minerva spoke with Hermione. Her work had not been up to her usual standard and needed to know why. It took a lot for her to get the information out of Hermione. The girl explained about lying to Harry and when she apologised to him, he asked her a question that had her lying again. She only did because it was Dumbledore who made her promise to never tell Harry. When Minerva asked what the question was and heard the answer, it made her even more disappointed in Albus. He had talked Harry's two best friends to spy on him and now Harry had found out. She always had a suspicion that Albus was using Hermione and Ron to keep an eye on Harry, but she never had proof, until now.

When the Christmas holidays arrived, Harry was one of the students leaving, so was Susan. She had invited him to spend Christmas day with her at her home. Even though they would visit friends, neither of them had any family so it would a quiet Christmas dinner with just the two of them. Harry knew he could have stayed at Hogwarts for Christmas as it would be his last but he really didn't want to put up with Hermione and Ron who were both staying.

Since that day he ended his friendship with Hermione, he had only spoken to Ron once. Ron asked what happened, Harry told him then asked the same question. Ron admitted that Dumbledore had them spying on Harry for him. Harry turned around and said they were no longer friends. He just couldn't trust them anymore. He walked away and hadn't spoken to them since. He spent his time with his girlfriend or with Neville and Luna. He did help a lot of first and second years, either with homework or just some advice.

By the end of the school year and the end of the tests, many of the older students who had returned after the battle of Hogwarts ended up with mixed emotions. They were finally graduating but they would leave Hogwarts for the final time in a few days.

Harry had been approached by many quidditch teams, he signed with the Falmouth Falcons, his father's old team. What shocked many was Ginny who was only approached by one team, the Chudley Cannons, who are known as the worst team in the league. No other team manager approached her. Many believed it was just because she didn't play as good as she used to. She spent a lot of time staring at Harry and missed the quaffle.

The newt scores were posted and Daphne Greengrass took out the number one spot. Most believed it would be close between Daphne and Hermione. it wasn't. Susan ended up second, Harry third, Justin fourth and Hermione fifth. Ron ended up passing with E's, no O's. Neville was surprised when he got O in all but one class.

The morning that the students were due to leave Hogwarts, some for the final time, Harry and Susan made an announcement in front of the entire school. They were engaged and would be getting married in a small private ceremony during the summer. It was then that everyone saw the large emerald and diamond ring on Susan's finger.

People like Ron, Hermione and Ginny believed that Susan paid for her ring as it was known that the Bones were wealthy. The few that knew Harry had money knew he had paid for the ring. Both would have been wrong. The ring had belonged to Lily Potter. Lily and James' rings had been placed in the Potter family vault before they were buried. All anyone had to do was look at a picture of Lily that showed her hand, then it would show the ring that now sat on Susan's finger.

An article came out about Harry and Susan's engagement but there was one part in the story that mentioned Ginny. It was said that she only married Harry for his money. Even though Molly and Ginny wanted to refute that, they knew Harry could easily prove it to be true when Ginny refused to stay married to Harry when she found out he didn't have any money. They still did not know that Harry was a very wealthy man.

Time skip:

Harry went on to have a great career in quidditch. he even got to play for England in the quidditch world cup. Susan ended up an auror just as she always planned but retired when she wanted to begin a family.

Harry and Susan ended up having four children. One boy and one girl took the name Potter, one girl and one boy took the name Bones. The children were all known as Potter/Bones or Bones/Potter. Now both old family names would continue. Harry went on to become a broom designer for Firebolt when his quidditch career ended. When the last Bones/Potter child graduated from Hogwarts, Harry and Susan were asked to return to Hogwarts as teachers. Harry took the defence against the dark arts teaching position while Susan took the ancient runes teaching position. Harry would eventually end up as headmaster and Susan as his deputy. Both lived until they were over 150 years old. Harry would go down in history as the best headmaster Hogwarts had ever seen.

Neville went on to marry Hannah Abbott, Susan's best friend. Neville and Hannah ended up having four children but all were called Longbottom as Hannah had an older brother who would continue the Abbott name. After their children had left Hogwarts, Neville and Hannah both took up teaching positions at Hogwarts. Neville became the herbology teacher and Hannah became the potions teacher. They remained as teachers until they died, like the Bones/Potter family, they were both over 150 when they died.

Luna ended up meeting a man that was as strange and unusual as she was who also went around the world looking for unknown animals. Luna and Rolf married, became magic-zoologists and had three children. The family went off exploring the world, never to be seen again but many mythical or unusual animals were discovered by the Scamander family.

Many of their friends ended up with great careers and many children. Ron and Hermione married, had two children. Ron couldn't get a career as an auror as he didn't have the right newt scores. He didn't get picked up to play quidditch. He ended up working for his brother George in the joke shop. Hermione got a job in the ministry in the department for control of magical creatures. She didn't last long when she tried to get laws past that was against wizarding policy. She ended up just a secretary for the misuse of muggle artefacts office with Arthur Weasley. Ron and Hermione's marriage was never a good one and divorced once their youngest graduated from Hogwarts. Hermione stayed in their small flat, Ron returned home to the Burrow. He married twice more, no more children but ended up single until he died at the age of 98. Hermione retired and returned to the muggle world to live out her days alone with minimal contact with her children and grandchildren.

Even though Ginny got to play professional quidditch, she never got to play for her favourite team, the Holyhead Harpies. She ended up staying with the Chudley Cannons until she retired. She had married three times and had three children to each of her husbands. She ended up single and hardly saw her children. She died at a young age for a witch at the age of 62. If was after she died that she found out that Harry was very rich and if she had just stuck it out, she could have had the life she dreamed of. She died a very lonely and unsatisfied woman.

The day Harry and Susan died, which they did only hours apart, they met up with their loved ones on the other side. Both had been very happy with their life, now they were very happy with their afterlife.
