I Need Her To Disappear:
It didn't really surprise Harry Potter at what he was hearing. He was shocked that he could be fooled, especially by Ginny and Molly Weasley. But he wasn't surprised. He never believed he would get the life he wanted. After hearing that Ginny only wanted to marry Harry to use his name as the saviour to get everything she ever wanted, including ending up playing quidditch for the Holyhead Harpies. Harry snuck away from the house and went back to his room at the Hogs Head.
'Well, I could just tell her it's over and this time for good. But I know what will happen. First could be them using a love potion on me. The second thing would have Ginny, Molly and even Ron and Hermione at me all the time, they will keep saying I should marry her as we make the perfect couple.'
Harry had heard Hermione say it a few times and Ron even agreed. Molly had pissed him off when she said it was like James and Lily all over again when she found out that Ginny was dating Harry.
Harry never said anything to Molly but he had been distant with her and even a little cold towards her since then. He thought she would figure out why especially when he refused to let her hug him. If she grabbed him, he just stood there and waited until she let him go.
Now he knew it wouldn't matter, Molly wanted Ginny with Harry as his name as the saviour would get her daughter everything she ever wanted.
'I'm glad I never told them that there was a lot of money in Sirius' vault. I only said it had a bit of left, it was mainly artefacts, lots of things that some of the family had left in there for centuries and just about all of it was worthless. Harry had no idea what the stuff was worth, he didn't care. The Weasley all knew Sirius left some money to Remus but that was only a few thousand galleons, the rest was left to me. That's probably why they believed me when I said there wasn't a lot in there. Ron saw my vault before our second and if his mother asked him about it, Ron would have said that it had a lot but it would only get me through my Hogwarts years and maybe a year or two after. I never told them about the Potter family vault. The goblins don't give out that type of information to others and he only got the key the first time he went to Gringotts after he turned seventeen..'
Harry had ended up combining all three vaults after the war. He also opened a muggle bank account and had the new people running Gringotts to transfer half to the other account. That was when Harry realised he had enough money to live on for the rest of his life. He decided to never tell anyone about the money only because he had seen how people looked at him due to his reputation.
'So, what do I do about her? It has to be something that will stop people like Molly and Hermione pushing me to marry the bitch. If she was married to me, then she would be allowed to enter my vault and spend my money, so I have to make sure there is never a marriage. First thing I'm going to do is to find somewhere else to live and make sure they never find out.'
He was then going to make them believe I've gone away for a few weeks. I'll say I need some time alone. That will give me some time to figure out what to do.
Harry then remembered he had an appointment at the ministry the following day. He was taking his apparition test. He might have been apparating but when he was old enough to get his license, Voldemort had control. The ministry did not fine him or others because of that. They did say they had to all work on getting their licence as soon as possible. then an idea came to him.
'Apparition. Ron ended up badly injured when he got splinched and I remember Mr. Weasley telling me and Ron stories about people splinching themselves when they hadn't learnt properly. Some ended up so bad that they could not have arms or legs reattached. That might be something I can do, but how would I make sure Ginny got splinched and badly enough that it will kill her?'
Harry figured he would try to work on an idea over the next few days. For now, he was going to leave the Hogs Head and stay in the muggle world. He would find a hotel to stay in. There was no way Ginny or Molly could find him. Hermione knew the muggle world but she wouldn't know where Harry was staying if she figured out he was in a hotel. There were thousands. Unless she saw him or someone saw him then mentioned it to Hermione, she would never find the hotel he would be staying at.
Harry spoke with Aberforth and asked the older man if he could say Harry had already left his pub but didn't say where he went. Aberforth knew that everyone wanted to see Harry, so he didn't mind lying. Harry also decided to make it seem like he had gone to Grimmauld place after leaving the Hogs Head. He wanted anyone that went to the house to believe Harry lived there. He made sure to leave a lot of clothes and shoes there. He planned to buy more so leaving the other stuff didn't worry him.
Harry sent a letter to Kingsley explaining that because he couldn't get any peace, he wanted to wear his invisibility cloak into the ministry. He just wanted the minister to know in case anyone found out and tried to cause trouble.
Before Harry ended up leaving the Hogs Head, he received a reply from Kingsley who said he would have one of his trusted aurors waiting for him. A man named Tim Proudfoot would be there but act like he was just walking by himself but he would be escorting an invisible Harry to the department of magical transport.
Everything went easy the following day. He got his apparition license then thanked the auror who escorted him back to the fireplace so he could use the floo to leave the ministry.
Harry got back to the Hogs Head, again, using his invisibility cloak. he packed up, thanked Aberforth then left Hogsmeade. He found a medium priced hotel in Brighton and used his fake id to check in. He paid for two weeks, which should give him time to look for a home. He could also move to another hotel if he hadn't found anything by then.
It only took Harry a few weeks to find the perfect home. After organising to buy the house, he was told it would take a few weeks before he could move in. He thought that was perfect as it would give him time to do what he needed to do.
Harry put his invisibility cloak over himself, he then apparated to Ottery St Catchpole. he decided not to apparate to close to the Burrow in case one of the Weasley's was outside. He was told at his apparition test that he was one of a few that could apparate silently. At first he thought he could apparate right near the Burrow, but couldn't take the chance that someone could see him if they were outside.
Harry stayed under his cloak down behind Arthur Weasley's shed. He needed to wait for the right time. He knew he could do this through the night but he really wanted part or parts of Ginny to appear inside the Burrow so Molly would see.
When Harry was sure no one was outside, he quietly made his way towards the house. He sat on his new broom and lifted off. He got to Ginny's window and noticed the room was empty. That had been the only thing Harry couldn't plan. He needed to get into the room without anyone seeing him. Then he would just stay
hidden under his cloak until Ginny went into her bedroom. He just hoped she went to her room alone.
It took more than two hours before Ginny walked into her room. Harry smiled when she was alone but she also closed the door. He knew there was no better time.
Harry pointed his wand at Ginny, then silently cast the imperius curse. He hadn't been sure if Ginny could fight it or not. When he helped the DA, only a few were able to fight it, Ginny wasn't one of them. He hadn't been sure if she had learned to fight it off since then. He had been told he was powerful so he would assume even if she could fight it off she wouldn't be able to fight him. But as he looked into her eyes, he saw she was under the curse.
'In five minutes time, you are to apparate to the Burrow's kitchen, at the same time you'll apparate outside the Three Broomsticks and outside of Gringotts. You have to do that all at the same time.' Harry waited to make sure Ginny understood her instructions, then he obliviated the entire memory of someone using the imperius curse on her. He then used a spell he had found at Grimmauld place. it would make sure that when someone died, they would go on and not return as a ghost. Harry had wanted that done on him, which is when Sirius
explained about the spell. Harry didn't want to be stuck as a ghost. Now he knew Ginny would not return as a ghost and tell everyone Harry had caused her death.
Harry moved outside the window again, sat on his broom and made sure he was completely covered by his
invisibility cloak. He stared at Ginny through her window who hadn't moved apart from stare down at her watch.
Right at the five minute mark, she turned on the spot. With a loud crack, she apparated.
Harry aimed his broom down so he could see through the kitchen window. A few seconds past before there was another loud crack then a scream. Molly and Hermione had screamed while Ron fell off the seat. Arthur hurried over to the bloody lump that was now lying on the kitchen floor.
Harry stared down at what was left of Ginny Weasley. He hadn't been sure what part of her would splinch. he knew she would be splinched but it could have been two arms and a leg she lost, which is why he made sure to remove her memory, in case she lived. Now he was staring at a torso with no head, arms or legs. the amount of blood told him she was already dead or if she was alive, she wouldn't be for long.
Harry didn't stick around, he flew away from the Burrow and straight to Hogsmeade. He landed, then apparated to the back alley of the Hogs Head. He used his cloak again and walked around the front of the Three Broomsticks. there was a crowd staring down at a head and arm. Harry left again and went to diagon alley. It was the same, a crowd was surrounding the other bits of Ginny Weasley.
Harry was about to leave but thought he should wait to see what happened. He knew magic has surprised him so he wanted to make sure Ginny couldn't be fixed, if she was still alive. He didn't think she was but he knew more than most that miracles could happen in the wizarding world.
It was only ten minutes later that healers and auror arrived. Five minutes later, another auror arrived to explain about the other parts of a body turning up at Hogsmeade. Harry snuck closer to listen and heard the healers say that whoever this was, she had died due to blood loss. There was no way someone could survive with the loss of so much blood.
Even though he had basically caused the death of Ginny, he couldn't feel sorry that she was dead. Ginny was going to use him and Molly wanted to basically tell him what to do.
After hearing the prophecy, Harry decided right then that if he survived, he was going to control his life. No one or nothing would ever have a say on how he lived and what he wanted to do with his life. If he made
mistakes, then he did and he would live with it.
Harry waited until he heard the aurors tell the crowd that the person had died, they would still need to find out who it was.
Harry stared once more at the body parts before he snuck away from the main street. Then he apparated back to his hotel.
Harry figured he should have some type of proof that he hadn't been around. He decided to leave the hotel and go overseas, at least for a few weeks. He still had another few weeks before he could move into his home so having a bit of holiday works perfectly. He would make sure to buy Hermione and Ron something so they would know where he had been. They would see that he didn't buy Ginny or anyone else anything. He also had to act like he didn't know anything about Ginny when they told him.
Harry spent three weeks visiting different parts of Greece. Within a couple of days of arriving in Greece, he had begun to relax. He did visit their magical shops so he would be seen, that was just so he could have some more proof that he wasn't in England when Ginny died.
By the time his small holiday was over, he was no longer stressed. But he was planning on basically staying on holidays for another few weeks just this time it would be in England and not overseas.
Harry returned to England and went to pick up his keys to his real home the moment he arrived. He got settled in then did some shopping. He would wait for a few weeks before he sent a letter to Hermione and Ron to explain that he was now back in England. He would make sure to spend a few hours a day at Grimmauld place so when his friends turned up, they would believe he was living there, when he wasn't.
Over the next couple of weeks Harry enjoyed shopping for his own food and own things like bath towels and sheets. Just buying normal things like a cutlery set made him smile. Over those weeks, Harry just kept going out, buying what he needed for the house. He did end up buying more clothes then made sure he took his other clothes to Grimmauld place. He only left a few things at Grimmauld place because Ron and Hermione knew he never owned a lot of clothes before, so he probably still didn't. Harry stocked up on food as well, he really wanted his friends to believe he lived there. He would take the food to his real home when he left and buy more when he planned to meet anyone at his fake home.
One thing that happened during that time that Harry hadn't been expecting, he ended up in a relationship. They had talked when they decided they wanted to be together and said they would keep it quiet for a while so no one could say Harry got with another girl when he was supposed to be dating Ginny. They worked out that Harry would just meet his two friends alone, for now and he would not tell them about his girlfriend, not yet. They wanted time to really get to know each other before the world knew that the saviour was in a serious relationship.
Once he had everything ready, Harry wrote his letter then apparated to Hogsmeade. He used an owl from the post office to send his letter to Hermione and Ron. After the owl flew off, he shared a drink with Aberforth
before heading to Grimmauld place. Harry knew the moment Hermione read the letter, her and Ron would try to floo directly into Grimmauld place. Harry had taken the house off the floo network. They would have to
apparate, which he knew they would do.
Harry was sitting on the sofa, he had a beer in his hand and just relaxed while he waited for his two friends.
Harry heard the sound of apparition then someone trying to open the door before knocking. he grinned. He wanted people to know that they just couldn't walk into his home, they would have to knock. He wanted to do that for privacy but also in case anyone came calling when he was at his real home. They would knock and leave when he didn't answer. It would give Harry time to get things like food or personal stuff to put at the house to make it seem like he lived there. Since they did knock, he go up to answer the door ready to speak with his two friends.
'Hey,' Harry said smiling hugely, then acted worried when he saw Hermione and Ron's faces, 'What's wrong?'
'Where have you been?' Hermione asked.
'I went away for a while, went to Greece and then France. I arrived back yesterday. Why do both of you look worried?'
'Ginny's dead,' Ron said emotionless as he stood staring at the window, 'We tried to find you but Aberforth said you moved out. We came here but couldn't get in.'
'I sealed the place while I was away. I just bought things like new clothes and other stuff, I didn't want it stolen. What in the name of merlin happened to your sister?'
'Why do you do that Harry?' Hermione asked.
'Do what?' Harry asked looking confused.
'You say your sister when you mention Ginny. She was your girlfriend, so why not say her name?'
'I never wanted us back together, I told both of you that but you didn't listen. I decided I would treat her like Ron's sister and hope you realised I meant what I said. So will you please explain what happened to your sister Ron? I thought all the death eaters were captured and sent to Azkaban.'
'They were, it was an apparition accident. She was booked in to have her test in a few weeks. She must have been practicing, that's what dad believes.'
'But I remember your dad saying people had to have arms or legs attached after an apparition accident. So how did she die?'
'Parts of her ended up in three different places. By the time healers got to her, she had bled to death. She must not have been concentrating properly on her destination,' Hermione said.
'Oh, I'm sorry Ron. I might not have wanted to date her but she was a nice person. How are your parents?'
'Mum isn't the same. she just sits in Ginny's room all the time, talking to her, like she's really there. We checked, she isn't a ghost. Between us, we're taking turns being there so she isn't alone. Dad stayed for two weeks then had to go back to work. He's having a hard time but he knows he has to keep working and trying to help mum. So you went on holiday, why didn't you tell us?'
'I sent an owl right before I left. I said I would be gone for about a month but I couldn't say if it was four weeks, six weeks or even two months. I just needed to get away for a while.'
'We never received an owl,' Hermione said.
'Hm, the owl I did use looked old, maybe it got lost on the way or dropped my letter. I remember you telling me Errol did that Ron. There wasn't a lot of owls to chose from since they are only just getting up and running again.'
Harry went to the living room and held out two bags, 'I got these for you while I was away.'
'Thank you,' Hermione took her bag, Ron took his but he didn't look in it. Hermione looked around, 'I don't see any more bags.'
'I don't have any, I only got you two something along with Neville and Luna. I sent theirs to them already. I knew I would see you two but not them, not straight away. Anyway, do you want a drink or a cup of tea?'
'Tea, please,' Hermione said, but she kept glancing around, 'You only bought something for Neville, Luna, me and Ron, no one else?'
'Yeah, there wasn't anyone else I wanted to buy for,' Harry made the tea and placed two cups in front of his friends while he got himself another beer, 'Did they investigate at all?'
'Yeah, Kingsley sent a couple of aurors to talk to us. They searched Ginny's room, they did find her diary and one part said she had been practising. That was after dad told them she was booked in to take the test,' Ron said.
Hermione and Ron stayed for about an hour before they left. Ron didn't say much of anything. He only spoke when Harry asked him a question but Harry knew they believed him. He did really go to Greece, he just didn't go until after Ginny was dead or for as long as they thought. He also saw Hermione trying to find other bags, like had gotten a gift for Ginny. She always believed she was right so she wanted to find some proof that Harry did really care for Ginny, which meant he would buy her a gift. He did only buy something for Hermione, Ron, Luna and Neville. He already planned that and sent his other two friends their gifts by owl.
Over the next few weeks Harry spent most of his time at his real home with his girlfriend. He would drop into to Grimmauld place to see if there was any mail. He knew if Hermione wanted to see him, she would send her letter there if she hadn't be able to find him at the house. No one could send mail to his real home, he had
decided to add a mail ward because he really didn't want to read fan letters or just letters from reporters, or girls asking him to be the mother of his children. All his mail would go to Grimmauld place. Once he read them or saw who they were from, then he would decide if he was going to answer them or not.
Harry and his girlfriend did go out, occasionally but they liked having time alone without anyone seeing Harry. Harry also really wanted to get his real home set up how he liked it and he had a lot of help from his girlfriend. He changed things so often until everything was perfect.
It was another two months before he saw Hermione and Ron again. They sent him a letter, or Hermione did. She wrote that they always seemed to miss him. Harry finally saw the few letters from Hermione sitting on the kitchen table of Grimmauld place. He knew Hermione was stubborn, she probably just kept turning up and he wasn't there. Eventually she realised she would have to write and wait to hear from Harry before they could visit.
'Even though I do understand why you kept your real home a secret, I thought you told them two everything.'
Harry looked at his girlfriend, 'I used to until they began to try and tell me what to do and how to live. It was them that wanted me with Ginny even when I told them I don't like her in a romantic way. They refuse to listen so I stopped telling them anything. I know what Hermione is like, if she knew about the other house, she would have told Ginny and both of them would not have left me alone.'
'But Ginny died, so it's not like they can make you date her anymore.'
'No but I wouldn't put it past Hermione to get some other girl she believes is right for me and one that she gets on with. You know what Ron is like, he would see me as cheating even though she did die. He wouldn't see it like that. It was just easier to keep things to myself. And really, what I do with my life is none of their business. Now though, we've been seeing each other for a while, I figured it's time they found out.'
'I don't think Ron will like anyone you date, he just wanted you with his sister and no one else. I never liked Hermione and she knew I only put up with her during the DA so I could keep learning from you.'
'Hermione didn't like a lot of people but she put everyone off with her attitude. It won't matter what she says or do, we're together Susan and I want to be with you, no one else.'
'You also know I'm not after your money,' Susan smirked making Harry laugh.
'That's for sure, you have a lot more than I do. It's known that the Bones is one of the oldest families and one of the wealthiest. But do you agree with me, we don't tell anyone about the other house until we're married?'
'Even though we haven't been together that long, a few months, we both realised how perfect the other is. We do have a lot in common and we did fall hard and fast. But yes, we'll keep the house a secret. I think if the houses at Hogwarts weren't separated, we might have been together for a long time.'
'I think you're right. So we'll make it seem like I live here but I spend time at your place, which is why they can't get hold of me.'
'You're about to see their reaction,' Susan said as someone knocked on the door.
'Be right back,' Harry gave his girlfriend a kiss then walked towards the front of the house. He opened the door but made sure he was blocking the way. Hermione had a habit of just barging in, 'I finally got your letters.'
'What took you so long and can we go inside?' Hermione huffed.
'Sure,' Harry slowly moved aside the allow his two friends in. Hermione didn't stop, just kept going until she went to the kitchen, Harry on the other hand went to the living room, Ron followed him.
'What's Susan doing here?' Ron asked.
'Susan and I are together and have been for a while. It's why I haven't been here. I spend most of my time at Susan's place.'
'Hello Ron. I'm sorry about your sister.'
'Um, thanks.'
'Harry, where are you?' Hermione yelled.
'I'm in the living room Hermione and if you hadn't just walked off you would have realised that,' Harry said. He didn't yell just raised his voice enough so she would hear him. By the time Hermione entered the room, Harry was sitting on the sofa with Susan, his arm around her, 'You remember Susan don't you Hermione. It's why I haven't been here, I spend most of my time with Susan at her place.'
Hermione stared at the girl with Harry before she turned and walked away. they heard the front door slam.
'It seems your girlfriend left Ron,' Harry shrugged.
'I better go find her. I'll see you later.'
'Yeah but write next time so I'll know to work on some time to see you.'
'With Susan?'
'of course, she's my girlfriend.'
'Okay,' Ron sighed. he already knew Hermione didn't like Susan Bones which meant they probably wouldn't be seeing Harry very often, not now he was dating the girl.
'Well, I wasn't sure what to expect but she just left,' Susan said.
'I expected her to leave but I thought she might have said something first. It doesn't matter, if she can't accept the fact we're together then we won't be spending time together. Now though, since they've been and gone, let's head back to my place.'
It was nearly six months before anyone apart from Susan, Neville, luna and Hannah had seen Harry. The next time anyone heard anything about him was to announce his engagement to Susan Bones. The statement Harry and Susan released explained that they would be having a winter wedding held at Susan's ancestral home. The wedding would be a small private affair with just close friends, mainly because neither Susan nor Harry had any family left. This also would make people believe they were living at Bones manor. It had very powerful wards so no one can get in without Susan giving them permission but that permission would end the moment the person left. Both Harry and Susan liked the house Harry bought. It wasn't a big mansion like the manor but it was a decent size house and had a lot of land, which allowed Harry to fly. There was plenty of room for when they decide to have children. Once they settled in, they planned to invite only their closest friends but they wanted some time alone once they were married.
It was going to be a small wedding, they only invited their closest friends, Harry did send an invitation to Ron and Hermione. He wasn't sure if they would come, but on the invitation it said they needed to know if they would be there because they would have to be warded in. If they just turned up, they wouldn't be allowed to enter and Susan would be too busy, being the bride.
On the morning of the wedding, Harry still hadn't received a response from Ron or Hermione. He thought for sure he would have received a letter from Ron saying they couldn't go to the wedding. He thought Ron would make some excuse why they couldn't be there even if Harry knew it would be because Hermione didn't like Susan.
Harry didn't know it but Molly had been angry that she did not get an invitation. She had written to Harry who never responded to her letters. The first one she wrote was telling Harry he was cheating on Ginny. He should be more respectful and break it off with Susan. When Harry read that, he never answered that or any other of Molly Weasley's letters.
Most of the staff at Hogwarts had been a little surprised they weren't invited. Minerva, Hagrid and Pomona thought for sure they would get an invitation. Susan was disappointed in her head of house for how she treated Harry when he became a champion. She had seen the way Professor Sprout acted when she had to speak with him. Harry had been disappointed with his head of house since first year until he eventually ended up disliking McGonagall. Hagrid supported Dumbledore no matter what, Harry just couldn't stay friendly with him.
Luna had been the one to take the photo's at the wedding. The bride and groom had given permission to have a few pictures published in the quibbler with a small story that Harry and Susan had given Luna a few days before the wedding.
Harry woke the morning after his wedding to see his wife smiling down at him. he pulled her on top of him, making her squeal before they started to become physical. They had told their friends don't expect to see them, for at least a month, maybe more. Harry ended up saying that they probably wouldn't be leaving their bed. Even though most laughed, Susan blushed which ended up making everyone laugh. The guests were seeing a playful side of Harry Potter.
It was another couple of months before the Hogwarts letters went out. Susan had written to the headmistress to find out about a room for her and Harry since they were married. They had both been surprised when it said the rules will not allow boys and girls to share. Harry wrote back stating that he and his wife will not be returning to Hogwarts. Harry didn't bother returning to head boy badge and quidditch captain badge as well. He was pissed and decided they would be kept and put away.
Many were shocked when Harry and Susan didn't arrive at Hogwarts, but they weren't the only ones. Neville and Hannah also didn't return because like Harry and Susan, they got married and would not sleep apart.
It was when the memorial ball was announced that the headmistress, the minister and the governors realised their mistake by not allowing married couples of share a private room. Harry, Susan, Neville and Hannah all returned their invitations with the answer that they will not be attending. The four of them said they will never set foot inside Hogwarts or the ministry ever again.
Many realised that the ball could not go ahead without Harry Potter, the saviour of the wizarding world. They wouldn't have a life if it wasn't for Harry Potter.
The governors and minister for magic basically changed the rules even when McGonagall protested. They sent a letter to the four heroes and invited them to return to Hogwarts and share marriage quarters.
They got back one short note from all four, it said no:
'They realise their mistake and only changed the rules so Harry would be at the memorial ball,' Hannah said.
'Which is why we said no. They were treating us like children instead of married adults,' Neville said.
'It's done, let's not worry about them or any of them. A few friends we stay in contact with agree with us, so it's not like we'll never see anyone,' Harry said.
'No, it won't. But the ministry will get a surprise when Harry doesn't apply to become an auror,' Susan said.
'I never wanted to be an auror. The fake moody said I would be good, Ron and Hermione took that as what I would do. No one asked me what I wanted to do. But you'll also surprised them love. With who your aunt and father were, they would expect you to join the aurors.'
'I thought about it at one time. Like you though babe, I didn't want a life of fighting. No, I can have hobbies while we have our children.'
'I love the sound of that. We're lucky we can see Andromeda otherwise you wouldn't get any peace if you went to St Mungo's.'
'I really like Andromeda and she's fabulous with Teddy. It is strange though, that Teddy's parents didn't name a godmother.'
'Yeah but your his godmother now. Maybe that's what they planned, for Andromeda to name one after she got to see some of us. Or maybe she waited to see who I ended up marrying.'
'But she named me while we were only dating.'
'She probably saw what we did, that you two are perfect for each other.' Hannah said.
Apart from a few close friends, no one saw the four hero's but many believed they would see them once they turned up at the ministry to apply for jobs. This is when many at the ministry thought they could finally get to put on a memorial ball. They planned to say that they can have jobs as aurors or whatever they wanted as long as they appeared at the ball.
It was two months after that school year finished and still no one saw Harry, Susan, Neville or Hannah. None of them turned up at the ministry to get jobs. Neville never answered Pomona sprouts letter about being her apprentice. He allowed his grandmother to remain in the family home, he bought another home for him and Hannah, which was warded with some powerful wards that Harry did using the elder wand.
What no one knew was the four friends had decided to use their money to live on and just stay away from working. They did invest in muggle companies but since they had plenty of money, they would just have
hobbies. This would allow them to have children but not have to spend time away from them.
Because Harry didn't end up working as an auror, others that had been considering that as a career, changed their minds. Ron tried to become an auror but he didn't even get considered as his newt scores were not good enough. Hermione went to work at the ministry, she was still determined to free house elves. Over time, others were promoted where Hermione stayed where she was and she was never able to get the house elves free.
Neville naturally began working on a lot of greenhouses and he planned to supply places like St Mungo's and places overseas. Because he had everything in his greenhouses and Hannah loved making potions, Neville began to learn and found out to his surprise that he was good at making potions. When Harry heard, he wasn't surprised. He knew Snape was the reason many couldn't make potions, but now, if they wanted to, they could.
The next time anyone heard anything about Harry, Susan, Neville and Hannah was when a picture appeared on the front page of the Quibbler, a picture showing the Potter and Longbottom heirs. Harry and Susan had a daughter they named Rosalyn, Rose for short. Neville and Hannah had a daughter they named Alice, after Neville's mother.
Because everyone found out why Harry never returned to Hogwarts to do his last year and why he never worked for the ministry, many muggleborns or muggle raised half-bloods ended up returning to the muggle world. People at the ministry realised they made a mistake by not allowing Harry to do his last year as a
married man, sharing quarters with his wife.
It would be years later that Hogwarts and the ministry realised why their numbers were dropping. Apart from Harry, Susan, Neville and Hannah's children not going to Hogwarts, all the ones that had left the wizarding world also did not send their children to Hogwarts. Some wanted the laws changed but there were still many pure-bloods that wanted to be able to teach their children at home so they never supported any law that would force all children to be educated at Hogwarts.
