"Rome!?"

"That is right, the Second Singularity you will be Rayshifting to has been located in the year 0060 A.D., in the Roman Empire." Romani explained for Naruto as he pointed to a large floating globe in view of the room they were in. "While Fujimari and Mash are in the First Singularity, you will go here until Mash can back you up once she is ready. Are you ready to get into uniform?" Romani asked, and a worker brought forward a white uniform for Naruto.

Naruto looked at it.

"Eh?"

"This is a Mystic Code, we developed several of them for Masters who had not trained in Magecraft. While wearing it, you will be able to channel your mana into it to produce the effects of First Aid, Momentari Reinforcement, and Emergency Evasion, but be careful, overusing it will have effects on your body." Romani explained what it was, and why it was important that Naruto wear it while he worked.

Naruto noticed a woman walk into the room, an oddly dressed woman with that kind of looked like the Mona Lisa if he was being honest. She spoke with the employee who had brought the uniform, before the two of them left the room together. Naruto shook his head and looked back at Romani when he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Master."

"Sorry, distracted... I'll get dressed and ready for the Rayshift right away." Naruto grabbed his uniform, before he looked at it for a moment. "... I'm not able to modify this a little... am I?" Naruto saw that it was JUST white with some black buckles running across it. It was a completely boring uniform to say the least.

Romani just laughed to himself.

"I would prefer you don't-"

Naruto had already bitten his thumb, and he drew a red spiral in blood, right on the collar of the uniform. He grinned to himself when he saw his family symbol on the uniform.

"I'll make it permanent later, but this will do for now. Rome... I've never been there before. While I'm getting dressed, can you get me a map of Rome?" Naruto asked the older man.

He shook his head.

"No need, if you need help finding where you are, we will take care of that from our end. We will moniter things from our end and offer technical support that way if able, but with Archer with you, it shouldn't be too much trouble." Romani looked at the green haired blonde woman.

She huffed a looked away from him.

"I'm Greek, not Roman, but yes, I will be able to help Master if he gets lost. I do know the night sky well enough to find my way." Atalanta didn't understand it, but for some reason she just could not stand Romani very well. It was like something about him just irked her on a spiritual level, and she couldn't even begin to understand where the feeling came from.

He looked offput by her dislike for only a moment, before he turned to Naruto.

"By the way, if you want, we can send you to help Fujimaru and Mash instead. I'm sure that they could use the backup." Romani offered that change.

Naruto shook his head.

"No, they've got it handled, I trust my comrades. That is why I'm going to do my best to make things easier for them, I'm going to go get changed." Naruto walked towards the changing room nearby the Rayshifting room.

Atalanta was left alone in a room with Romani for mere moments.

"So-"

Atalanta vanished in blue spirit particles, entering her spirit form so that she could leave the room without even the need to say another word to Romani. The man just pouted when he realized that he was really disliked by a beautiful woman.

-15 Minutes Later-

"... This looks like a coffin." Naruto was dressed and ready for Rayshifting.

They expected him to get into a coffin.

"I'm sure it's not that bad Master, apparently, this makes Rayshifting much safer." Gareth stated with an innocent smile. Asterios placed his hand on Naruto's head, and that was the only thing he did to offer Naruto any comfort.

"It's called a Coffin too, by the by." Romani's voice stated.

"Oh come on! Don't give the thing I have to get into the name Coffin! That is just begging for me to think I'm gonna die!... FINE!" Naruto got inside of it, and the lid shut behind him. He turned around and crossed his arms, looking at Asterios and Gareth outside. Naruto blinked for a second, before Atalanta released her spirit form next to him.

She was in the coffin with him.

She nodded to him while Gareth and Asterios entered their own coffins.

"Okay Naruto, if you're nervous, just close your eyes and countdown from 10... and when you open your eyes, you will be in the past." Romani offered his advice for Naruto, but Naruto kept his eyes wide open for as long as he could. "Starting the rayshift."

Naruto slammed his eyes shut.

'10... 9... 8...'

"Master, thou will be okay. There isn't any need to fear."

"Not afraid... 7... 6... just really nervous... 5... 4... never done this before." Naruto kept his eyes closed as he counted. He felt his body changing into something that was both there AND not there, as if he were being pulled through a hole in reality or something. That was what was happening to him in a way, but honestly, it felt more like he was being dragged backwards. "Thanks anyway."

"Good, you need to be strong at all times."

A yanking, pulling sensation lasted for only a moment.

Then Naruto felt like he was submerged in water. He opened his eyes, and he instantly realized that he WAS submerged in water. He was no longer in the coffin, and instead about 50 feet under water, or more actually. It would seem that Atalanta was just as confused by it, and nearby both Asterios and Gareth were already swimming up towards the surface.

'Fuck... I didn't hold my breath...' Naruto closed his mouth and started to swim up on the limited amount of air that he had in him. Naruto used all his strength, before he reached the air and took a deep breath. He extended his arm above the water, with his watch on it. "Romani you fucker! I'm going to kill you when I get back!" Naruto screamed at the top of his lungs as Atalanta breached the surface during his screams.

Gareth reached the surface last, and it seemed that Asterios had reached before even Naruto.

"River." Asterios noticed that they were in a river.

"Sorry Naruto, it's harder to calculate an exact position when we need to keep track of Fujimaru and Mash while also rayshifting you. We will make sure it doesn't happen again. Can you look up at the sky real fast... do you see anything odd?" Romani asked over the communicator.

Naruto looked up at the sky.

It didn't look normal, it was the middle of the night, and high in the sky was a massive ring that looked like nothing was allowed to exist inside of it, at least not clouds.

"Big, glowing ring in the sky, perfect circle... why?"

"Fujimaru and Mash had identified that something similar is in the sky where they are, I'm going to cut communications with you for now. They have started a battle against Wyverns, we will keep a look out for potential enemies for you though."

"... So one of those is there too?" Naruto started to swim towards the edge of the river. It was a strange question that Romani asked him, but now it at least made sense if the others had seen the same thing he was seeing. "So, where are we Atalanta?" Naruto asked.

Gareth responded first.

"Wherever we are, if the ocean is that way then we can probably walk that way and get to a city, or follow the river. Usually where rivers flow, people tend to gather." Gareth gave her opinion on the matter. Naruto looked at her when she spoke, and he absorbed her words. He gave her idea some thought.

'The problem is that something in this Era is off enough for it to destroy itself, meaning that we can't just go to a city without thinking that it might be hostile or there might be a war going on.' Naruto took her idea, and he thought about it. He gave it serious thought, biting his finger as he paced back and forth. "... Lets wait for out clothes to dry out, and think things through. Somewhere in this Era, the enemy gave somebody a Holy Grail to mess things up. We're in Rome during 0060 A.D... so that means Nero is the current Emperor... but Nero has great love for Rome and it's people..." Naruto tried to think about who the enemy in this era was going to be.

Rome was a root for many modern day civilizations, meaning that this would make sense to destroy if you wanted to destroy human history. It was a key point in development.

"So, we can safely assume that any Roman city controlled by Nero isn't hostile towards our goal."

"Unless Nero is dead, if Nero is dead, then who is leading Rome WILL be our enemy since that is a change to history. We need to confirm if Nero is dead or not, and if Nero is alive, then somebody must be trying to destroy Rome right now."

"Really?" Atalanta was a little surprised to see Naruto talking like this.

He was putting some serious thought into it.

"The enemy wants to destroy Rome, to destroy humanity. To do that, then Rome must be destroyed, and for Rome to be destroyed, Nero must be dead. Nero won't die without a fight, so if Nero's army is currently engaged in combat with an enemy force, then whoever his enemy is, is our enemy too." Naruto paced back and forth as he narrowed his eyes, putting all of his thought process into trying to figure out what he knew from his knowledge of Western history. He was forced to take those classes and pass them to graduate high school, but he never paid too much attention.

"Master... lets find Nero." Asterios chipped in.

"We need to at the very least... I'm trying to think about what I would do if I were trying to destroy humanity. The only thing I can think of is collapse Rome, and the best way to do that is the death of Nero. Okay, we've got our destination." Naruto sat down on the ground with a plop. He knew where they needed to start looking at the very least.

"So, what is our plan of battle then?" Gareth asked, while Atalanta walked over to a tree, and just leaned up against it. She closed her eyes and rested, since she knew they had a long walk ahead of them.

"None... We can't form a battle plan without knowing who we are facing. All I can say is that if Nero is alive, then Rome is what we need to protect. If Nero is dead, then whoever is ruling Rome is most likely the enemy. Once we get the Holy Grail, the Singularity will fix itself. We just need to find out where it is." Naruto sighed as he rubbed both sides of his head roughly. "Grrrr... I wish we have rayshifted closer to a city! Then we could ask a local if anything strange had been happening!" Naruto complained, collapsing on his back.

Gareth started to wring the water from her clothes, since they were going to be waiting for awhile otherwise.

"Atalanta!"

"Yes Master?" Atalanta asked Naruto when he jumped up and shouted her name with a grin.

"You're really fast, do you think you can get to the nearest city before the sun rises, and then gather information before noon?" Naruto asked her with a giant grin on his face as the idea came to him. He lifted his hand and showed his Command Spells. "If you think you can, I will use a Command Spell to teleport you back to me at noon. Then using the name of the city, we can report our location to Romani and he can give us directions to where Nero's palace is!" Naruto had the idea.

They had no information.

They could gather that information though.

"Just me?" Atalanta asked for clarification, then he nodded, she thought about it. "I don't know, without knowing how far the next city is, it's hard to tell. That seems like a waste of a Command Spell to me." Atalanta pointed out to Naruto, and he nodded his head.

It did sound like that.

"The way I see it, we need to hurry. If you learn Nero is alive, we can't waste time waiting for you to come back to us. A Command Spell isn't wasted if it helps us do what we need to do as fast as possible." Naruto knew that Atalanta could easily make the trip there and back quickly, but he didn't know how quickly. "And, if you don't reach a city by noon tomorrow, well that sucks. Romani, can you tell us how close the nearest settlement is?" Naruto asked his communicator.

There was a pause.

"The nearest city is within Atalanta's running distance, we are cross referencing known cities during that time period at the moment. Nero's palace is currently 3 days away from your current location."

Naruto thought about that.

"See... if Nero isn't at the palace at the moment, then going straight there is a waste of time too. We will be wasting 3 days worth of time if we go there and he isn't even there." Naruto stated, to which Atalanta nodded her head.

"Okay Master, but call me back early if thou need me."

"Don't worry, we're here too." Gareth saluted Atalanta, as if to remind her that Naruto had 2 other servants with him at the moment. Asterios nodded his head, and stared at the river that they escaped from.

"Master... Asterios keep safe."

"Very well, I will not waste any time." Atalanta looked up at the sky, before she started to run off in the direction where she believed a town to be. Naruto watched her go quickly, and she turned to spirit form as she ran, so she became invisible to him moments later.

He could still kind of sense that she was moving further away from him though, he guessed that had something to do with him being her Master.

"Good plan Master, I don't think it's a waste of a command spell!" Gareth approved of the plan.

Asterios just nodded.

'I'm still nervous... I just can't shake this feeling.' Naruto felt his nerves get pressed, knowing that he needed to stay strong was more than enough for him to steel himself. '... Knowing that I'm going to lead them, order them into battle... it's a lot harder on me than just fighting somebody.' Naruto clenched his fist.

He had been in fights all his life.

This was his first time ever feeling this nervousness though.
