Chapter one

Sirius Black finished his private meeting with Albus Dumbledore. The older man at first believed Harry and Sirius were exaggerating, until he saw the memory. The memory was from two people, Harry and Dobby. Harry saw through Voldemort just what Snape was really like and what he tells people. But it also showed how Voldemort ordered Snape to destroy Harry's natural mind defences during his occlumency lessons, not help the boy close his mind. Snape wanted to eventually destroy Harry's mind completely but had to slowly destroy the boy's natural barriers first. The memory showed Albus exactly what Snape had said to Voldemort. Dobby's memory is of Snape talking to people like Voldemort, death eaters and the Slytherin's.

'He's played me for a fool and put people's lives in danger. That is just not acceptable.'

'If you force his arrest, he will end up back with old Voldy. He was able to break his other supporters out of Azkaban, he would do it again.'

'What do you suggest, Sirius?'

'I would prefer him dead, but that's not an option unless he tried to kill someone. Yes, he hurt Harry and made any chance of closing his mind impossible. Even Harry would not want to kill unless it was only to protect someone. I don't know Albus. Since you and Harry are his victims, I believe it's up to you what happens to him.'

Albus sighed, 'There more that you don't know Sirius. I only kept it a secret in the hope we could all work together. I always knew Tom would return and having a spy could mean the difference between winning and losing.'

'So, he did more than just destroy Harry's natural defences and lie to you?'

'Yes, he did. It was Severus who heard the first part of the prophecy. He told Tom. He came to me in hope I could save them Sirius. Yes, at first he only asked for Lily to be save before he said all three. He seemed truly remorseful. But he also did show me he still loved Lily so I believed he would never support Tom, who killed lily. But as I just saw, he still blames me as well for Lily dying, for not protecting them. Not only did he fool me, he fooled Tom. He would not support Tom, so he is out for himself. Playing both sides until the war is decided.'

'Then he deserves to die and I'm not just saying that as I hate the man. If he did not tell Voldy about the prophecy then it may never have come into it. For all we know Lily and James had a way to help Harry and deal with Voldy at the same time. Because of that Snivelling bastard, we've lost many, too many and allowed many students in Slytherin to believe they can continue to hurt others and there won't be any consequences of their actions. There are a lot less aurors and healers because Snape refuse to teach properly. I know you had to let him get away with a lot, but he played you and helped make our world worse off. I'm not saying just go and kill him but I believe we make sure he ends up dead, someway, even by Voldy. I'm sure we could work something out. My dear cousin would be one of the first who would kill him if she was suspicious that Snape was working both sides, for his benefit and not for her master.'

'We will talk more on this and work something out. Even though I tried with so many, it has been proven that some are beyond redemption. It is war and there are always deaths in war. I may not like the idea of killing, but I believe it is time to deal with them permanently before our world is destroyed. We will need to work on many plans.'

'You also need to talk to Harry. He has to know about the prophecy. It's not like he's a little kid anymore. He's having dreams which means Snape has opened his mind to Voldy who is trying to get Harry to the ministry.'

'I believe you are right, but I think I should sneak Harry into the ministry to retrieve the prophecy orb, then show him. Once it's out of the ministry than…Voldemort cannot get hold of it. That is one thing I am certain of. He does not want to face Harry again until he knows the full contents of the prophecy. I must return to Hogwarts. Call Harry and let him know things will be changing. Tell him to stay away from the Snape, do not even go to potions. I will work with Minerva on some excuse that he will accept without getting suspicious, it will work on Dolores as well. Explain to Remus, but no one else, not until we've worked on some plans.'

Sirius watched Albus step into the fireplace, 'At least he now knows the truth,' When Sirius first saw Dobby and Harry's memory and did a few spells over his godson, he knew straight away that Snape had been destroying all Harry's natural defences around his mind. Now Albus Dumbledore knew the truth about his so-called spy. Sirius was curious about how his godson's friends would take the news that Harry had been right about Snape all along. It was mainly Hermione who said they had to trust Snape since Dumbledore did and he was part of the order. Sirius knew that for now, no one else could know what Sirius, Harry and Albus knew. Eventually, everyone will know and Hermione will hopefully begin to realise she has to make up her own mind and not just follow what someone like Albus believes.

Sirius was worried about Albus. He seemed to be tiring easier. He wasn't sure if it was the thought of facing another war, which would be Albus' third, or if he was just getting older, too old to keep fighting. He would talk to Remus and they would keep an eye on Albus.

That evening Harry was sitting in the Gryffindor common room with his friends, studying for more of their tests the following day. Fawkes, the phoenix flashed into the room. Most of the students had never see Fawkes or a phoenix, yet the beautiful bird appeared before Harry so every student stopped what they were doing and stared at the phoenix.

'Hello Fawkes,' Harry gave the bird a pat then took the letter from his beak, 'We'll go flying together again soon, I promise.'

Fawkes began to sing before he disappeared in a flash of bright flames.

Everyone watched as Harry read the note then put it in his pocket.

'What did he say?' Hermione asked.

'Something that can't be shared with anyone,' Harry said then went back to his homework. He knew he had basically lied, but he was sick of Hermione always expecting to be told everything. Even Ron expected Harry to tell him things. But Harry had learned the previous year that it would be best to keep things to himself. Ron and maybe Hermione could let this information slip. Ron couldn't help himself, sometimes when Ron got angry, he would just blurt out stuff. Hermione would try to keep things to herself but she would give in if someone like McGonagall asked her. The main problem he had, he just couldn't trust his two friends not to say something about how Harry was given permission from the headmaster to skip potions and defence. Dumbledore planned to explain that Harry would be having special and private meetings with someone during those classes, all on the magical world. Since Harry would end up with a seat on the Wizengamot due to the house of Potter being a noble and ancient house, he needed to learn more about the wizarding world. He was also Sirius's heir which means he will also hold the Black seat once he becomes of age, but only if something happened to Sirius. That wasn't the truth about why he was skipping those lessons, but it was something that no one would stop. No one, not Fudge or Umbridge could prevent the heir of one of those houses from doing their duty, which include lessons on what their duties are. Sirius planned to teach Harry what he knew, just right now, wasn't the time.

It was only an hour later that Harry went up to his dorm. He wanted to speak with Sirius now he knew his godfather had finally got the old man to see the truth about Snape.

It was only ten seconds after Harry called Sirius' name and tapped the mirror with his wand, Sirius answered. Before Harry could say anything, he got a vision. This one he knew was a lie.

When Harry came out of the vision all he heard was Sirius yelling his name, 'I'm here, I'm okay.' He panted.

'What did you see pup?'

'It was fake. He doesn't know I can talk to you anytime I want.'

'So, it was about me?'

'Yes, he was torturing you so you would get something. It's the same room I've been dreaming about.'

'Dumbledore is going to tell you about this but I will since you had this vision. There is a real prophecy in the hall of prophecy at the department of mysteries. It's about you and Voldy. He heard the first part, that's when he went after you and your parents. He is desperate to hear all of it before he faces you again. He ended up with no body when he went after you as a baby, then you escaped him in the graveyard, so he's scared. He needs to know the full contents before he ready to face you.'

'So, he was hoping I would believe he had you and I would go rescue you, then I'd be facing him?'

'Yes, or at least some of his death eaters would be there waiting for you, death eaters like my crazy cousin. He was probably hoping you would see your name on the orb and take it. Only the people named on the orbs can touch them. He doesn't want to be seen, so he's trying to force you to get it. Since you just got this, he must have someone at Hogwarts who can tell him you've left, so he might send you more visions. The old man might be able to work on a trap.'

'You can't go Sirius. He would kill you because he knows how close we are.'

'I won't be going, but I can act as go between. Keep the mirror on you. But I'll contact Albus now so he can call the order. He might need you to be seen leaving, but not seen sneaking back in.'

'The tunnel from Honeydukes is still accessible. Okay, go and hopefully some of those death eaters will get caught. But call me back in one hour.'

'I will but don't worry, I'm not leaving the house. Fudge's name isn't the best right now because of how many are dying or disappearing so people are beginning to believe you and Albus, especially after the breakout of Azkaban. Hopefully, whoever becomes minister will give me a trial. Talk to you soon.'

'Okay,' Harry cut the connection then decided to study again while he waited for Sirius to call him.

It was only twenty minutes later that Albus retrieved Harry from Gryffindor tower and they worked out for him to be seen leaving the castle and the grounds of Hogwarts. He did make sure that no staff saw him leaving apart from Severus. Albus wasn't sure if it would be Severus who would tell Voldemort Harry had hurried from the castle, or if it was one of the marked students. If Severus saw Harry leave, he might mention it to some of the Slytherin's, which most of the older ones had the dark mark.

Albus had already had Remus at Honeydukes ready to let Harry in so he could sneak back into the castle, without being seen. No one inside the castle could know that Harry hadn't really left.

Harry got back to Gryffindor tower with the help of Minerva McGonagall. She had made it seem like she needed to speak with the prefects while the invisible Harry slipped inside and headed up to the dorm room. The whole thing only took half an hour. Now Harry hoped it meant some dangerous death eaters will be caught or killed in their own trap. Harry also hoped that Voldemort does turn up so he would be seen. He would have to wait until he heard from Sirius.
