Chapter four
'We have to tell Molly and Arthur,' Remus said sadly but urgently.
'Yes, but I am wondering why the girl left the house.'
'Maybe she had a boyfriend. Hermione would probably know.'
'From my observation, she seemed to be taking an interest in Harry. He on the other hand didn't seem interested in her.'
'I asked Harry once if he was interested in any girls. He said all he knew was that he wasn't attracted to red heads, or any girl with black hair as it reminds him of Snape.'
Albus nodded, 'I need to speak with Arthur and Molly. You tell Sirius and Harry what happened but do that somewhere private. We will fill the others in after.'
By the time Albus had told the older Weasley's, the rest of the order had arrived. Harry had only just finished telling Sirius what he saw when Remus knocked on the door. After Remus explained about Ginny, the three of them hurried downstairs to join everyone else.
The house was crowded, but everyone left the Weasley's to grieve as a family. Hermione had ended up hugging Harry and crying into his arms.
'Miss Granger,' Albus said kindly.
Hermione sniffed then wiped her eyes, 'Yes, Professor.'
'Since you seem to be the closest girl to miss Weasley, do you know if maybe she had a boyfriend? We've been talking and that is the only idea we have come up with as to why she would leave the safety of the house.'
'She told me she was in love with Harry and hoped eventually he would see her as a girl and not Ron's little sister.'
'I knew she was a girl but I'm not attracted to girls with red hair or black hair. Ron and the twins told me she liked me, so I figured if I didn't pay her any attention, she would look at other boys,' Harry shrugged.
'I don't think Ginny thought of what Harry might be attracted to, in a girl. She just allowed her feelings to guide her, which would stop her looking towards other boys. It would always be Harry,' Tonks said.
'Can you think of any reason why she would leave the house?' Albus asked as he stared down at Hermione.
'No, she knows how dangerous it was. After the diary and chamber, she had a better understanding about…him, than most. She wouldn't leave for no reason.'
'When was the last time you saw her?'
'It was about fifteen minutes ago. She said she needed the bathroom. I figured since she didn't come back that she went to her bedroom after.'
Albus sighed, 'Alright, thank you Miss Granger. If you think of anything let someone in the order know. It's late, you should get some sleep.'
'I know I'm exhausted,' Harry said, 'Um, are the Weasley's still here?'
'No, they will return, for now they wanted to be alone so they returned to the Burrow. Bill is going to place a few more wards around the property. He is even considering placing the home under the fidelius charm. I need to return to the ministry.'
Harry stayed sitting beside Sirius. Hermione was still sitting on his other side, 'So you would never have considered Ginny?' Hermione asked.
'No, it's the red hair.'
'That's probably to do with knowing your mother was a red head. Some boys will go with girls similar to their mothers, while others will go opposite. Harry seems to be one of those boys that goes for looks opposite of his mother.'
'I hadn't thought of my mother with this, Sirius. It's just red heads, I don't like it at all. Mum's was different though, she had very dark red hair, it was nice. The Weasley's hair,' Harry shook his head, 'no, I don't like it.'
'Everyone has their likes and dislikes. You probably suit a blond.'
'I like blond hair, just not Malfoy type of blond. Anyway, I might go to bed, I'm tired.'
Sirius hugged Harry but gave him a pat on the back at the same time. They couldn't talk, not with Hermione still with them. Sirius would contact Albus later, but he had to give the man time since he would be busy. This wasn't urgent but it needed to be known.
Harry lay in bed, thinking about what he had been involved in, murder. But he still knew it was the right thing to do even if he hated the thought of killing anyone. After receiving that other vision, he knew now it had been the only thing they could do and it worked, better than he thought.
As Harry arrived in the kitchen, Sirius instantly gave Harry a look. Harry knew it meant his godfather had told the headmaster what Harry had seen. Harry also knew that Dumbledore would want to talk to him about the vision and maybe even see the memory of what Harry had seen.
Even though Sirius had explained to Albus what Harry saw, he wanted to see Harry's memory. When he arrived, he had Harry join him in the drawing room with only Sirius allowed in.
'I see what you mean. None of us ever knew he could use the dark mark in this fashion. We will need to work on a way for Amelia Bones and her aurors to find out about this that does not involved any of us.'
Albus, Sirius and Harry discussed different ideas, but they had a day or two to work on the perfect story that Amelia Bones will believe. They decided to leave it for now but the three of them would continue to think of a way for the aurors to know that Voldemort and every marked death eater was dead.
The order stood with the Weasley family and their friends while they buried their youngest child. Harry stood between Sirius and Remus.
Arthur and Bill had begun to asked questions. They wanted to know why Ginny left the house and who could have killed her when headquarters was under the fidelius charm.
'She was outside the charm,' Remus said kindly, 'Or that's where I found her.'
'Why would she leave the house?' Arthur asked again.
'I spoke with Miss Granger. We, Sirius, Harry, Remus and I thought maybe she had a boyfriend who she snuck out to meet. It seems she was fixated on Harry, who was not interested in your daughter. She may have figured that out and found some other boy. I'm not sure we will ever find out the answer Arthur, though I will keep trying.'
'She wouldn't have found another boy. She told Molly she was determined to marry Harry.'
'Harry already told Sirius and Remus that he wasn't attracted to red heads. Both men believe it's to do with his mother, Lily. Some boys will be attracted to girls like their mothers, while other boys will go completely opposite. It seems Harry liked the opposite.'
'Was anyone from the order watching the house from outside?' Bill asked.
'No, it was not needed when everyone knew about the danger.'
'I want to find out who killed her, but also why she left the house,' Arthur said.
'We will investigate Arthur. I will get the order working on it. Just know though that we may never find out the reason.'
Albus stayed for a while longer, trying to calm down the two Weasley men. He could not tell them there was no danger anymore, not until they informed the ministry.
Albus, Harry and Sirius realised they would need a way to get the information out that Voldemort killed every death eater when he used his connection to the dark mark to try and stay alive. Right after Ginny was dead, Voldemort died twenty minutes later. Harry suggested using Dobby to help. He used to be the Malfoy's house elf. People like Fudge would have seen the elf at Malfoy manor. They had to work on exactly how the elf should act and who he should approach. They decided the story would be that Dobby would approach Professor Dumbledore with the information, who would take it and Dobby to Amelia Bones of the DMLE and then take it to Fudge. This will also force Cornelius to realise that Harry had told the truth about Sirius.
Amelia Bones instantly began an investigation. She also threatened Cornelius Fudge. He had lied, it was now proven Harry Potter and Albus Dumbledore had been telling the truth about Voldemort. She was also going to have him charge for brushing off the information about Sirius Black instead of informing her department. Cornelius realised he was done as minister, so he gave Amelia emergency powers to do what she needed, until new elections could be held.
Amelia took two full squads of aurors to Malfoy manor. It was exactly as the elf said. Every death eater was dead, along with Voldemort. The moment she saw the body of Peter Pettigrew, she told one of her aurors to work on Sirius Black's official release.
Harry stayed close to Sirius since Ginny died. Even though he wanted to feel close to his godfather, Hermione had become clingy, something Harry hated. He also knew that even though Hermione was upset that Ginny died, she was using this time in the hope to get information on what Harry had been doing and the secrets he kept from her. Usually when she entered a room, Sirius would take Harry's arm and they would leave the room. The only time Harry did spend with Hermione was during meals, but he was sitting with others at the time so he knew Hermione could not question him about what he had been doing.
Hermione did ask if he was still going somewhere with Tonks. All Harry said was it wasn't needed anymore, but he couldn't explain more than that.
'She is driving me crazy,' Harry huffed as he sat on Sirius' bed.
'I'm not sure if she is just one of those people that has to know everything and use the information or she just wants to know, for her own curiosity. Albus told her that you can talk about what we're doing, yet she still tries to get you to tell her.'
'Yeah, she does. It's more though Sirius, it's about Ginny. She begun to say how she thought Ginny and I would make a great couple. It took a lot of arguing but I finally got her to understand that I will never be interested in a fan-girl and that's what Ginny was. She went on about me before she even knew me. The twins told me how her mother told her stories of the-boy-who-lived when she was really young. But I also told Hermione that Ginny was too small in the body for me.'
'Small, I don't get what you mean.'
'I couldn't just come out and say I only like girls with big boobs. Ginny's were really small.'
Sirius laughed, 'I know I shouldn't laugh, but I get why you couldn't tell her that. So, it's not big girls you like, it's the boobs. I get you there, I was always a boob man. Your dad, no, he went for the eyes but he also liked bums. All boys will be attracted to certain parts of a girl. Some are boobs, some bums, some on their looks, but your dad was instantly attracted to the eyes. You know pup, if you were able to show your eyes more, you would have a lot of girls after you for that and not the-boy-who-lived.'
'Well, I have wanted to get contact lenses, but I would need an adult to act as my parent, or guardian before they will give me an appointment.'
'I'm free now and I could charm my hair to be the same colour as yours so people would believe I'm your old man.'
'Can we go make an appointment later?'
'Sure, it might show Hermione that we don't all need to stay locked up in this house. I have to buy another place soon. I might concentrate on that once you've returned to Hogwarts. We could actually have a proper holiday for now, work on a home later.'
'I've never really had a holiday so that would be great. I would like somewhere with a beach. I've never really seen the ocean before and I've seen some great pictures of the white sandy beaches and blue ocean. It looked nice.'
'Then we'll organise a holiday in the Caribbean, maybe Greece, or even Australia. We'll work it out.'
Harry and Sirius only left the room when it was time for dinner. Albus was there along with some of the order. He officially disbanded the order since Voldemort and his death eaters were dead, it was not needed anymore. Albus spoke with Hermione to explain that now everyone was safe, she could return home, if she wanted. Hermione instantly said she would like to stay with Harry. Sirius explained that he was taking his godson overseas on a holiday, so they wouldn't be here. Hermione seemed to sag before she asked if someone could take her home.
Tonks waited until Hermione packed her belongings, gave Harry a hug before the auror took Hermione home. Harry sagged. He told Sirius, in secret, that Hermione made him tense. He wasn't sure why, apart from the fact she wanted to keep questioning him about things she didn't need to know but also stuff that Harry could not and would not talk about.
