Chapter two

Harry bought himself some sunglasses and a few different types of hats so he could move around places like Godric's Hollow without any witches or wizards seeing the-boy-who-lived. He was asked innocent questions by the shop owners. Harry explained that while he was on holiday, he was just sightseeing. He said his parents worked, so they allowed him to spend his days visiting different places, as long as he was home by dinner. He explained to the people that asked that he planned to write a paper for school about the different towns he visited. Harry even had a camera so it would make it look like he was just sightseeing, but the pictures would be added to his assignment. So far, everyone seemed to believe him.

He only went into the town of Godric's Hollow a few times, mainly to get something to eat. He did some proper shopping in other towns. He would buy some things in one town, then buy other things from another town. He didn't want anyone to get suspicious that he might be alone, or a runaway. Even though he technically was a runaway. He would catch bus's or trains, shop, the find somewhere secluded so he could call Dobby who would take them back to the house. Harry wanted to be seen, just not recognised, so he would take a bus or train somewhere but Dobby always took him back home.

Harry helped clean the house with Dobby, but he also looked through things his parent's owned. He loved seeing all the pictures around the house. There were lots of him as a baby, usually in his parent's arms, or Sirius was holding him. He saw a picture of himself flying a small broom, with his father beside him. When Harry had seen that picture, he had searched the house and found the broom. It was small, made for children. He found writing on it, it said to my godson on his first birthday, love Padfoot. Harry was going to keep that broom, maybe mount it on the wall.

He loved his parent's house, or his house, but he especially loved the cosy but well stocked library/office. Two walls were covered with shelves, which was filled with books. There was a large fireplace on the other wall, with a large comfortable sofa facing it. The desk sat near the last wall with a big window behind it. But what Harry liked about that was the desk was or he believed it was, an antique and very old, yet in really good condition. Harry knew his father's family were pure-bloods and an old family in the wizarding world, so he wasn't really surprised they had some old furniture. Not just furniture, he found a lot of very old books, all on the magical world, but some were books for things like charms or transfiguration.

While Harry had been going through the books, he found one call the deathly hallows death book. When he opened it to find out what this book was, there was nothing writing in it, which confused Harry. He thought it looked a lot like a diary or journal, but if it was then it wouldn't be called the deathly hallows death book. Even though he was confused, he put the book back. There was no use looking at a book when there was nothing written in it.

After breakfast Harry decided to find out more about his parent's and one way was to go through any type of papers, like letters or invoices, statements and stuff. He sat at the desk, running his hands along the beautiful mahogany wood and as he did, he couldn't help thinking about how his parents would have sat here. Just sitting here and looking at the stuff on the desk, he had a feeling his father used it more than his mother. After a minute of staring at the stuff on the desk, he began to go through the cupboard and drawers of the desk. He did find a lot of old letters from people that wrote to his parent's. He also found copies of letters they had written to others. There were many to Sirius and a lot from Sirius. Even though he smiled, he thought it was strange to find so many letters when he had found out that Sirius had basically lived here. Sirius told him he basically lived here, he spent more time here at the house than his own place. The room next to Harry's baby room was one of the spare rooms, but it was for Sirius to use. Looking at the clothes still hanging up, shoes on the floor, told him that Sirius spent a lot of time at the house, so he couldn't work out why there were so many letters. He didn't read them, he would do that later. For now he was just seeing what was in the desk.

As he was going through the last and largest drawer, he realised it didn't look as big on the inside as it was on the outside. Harry thought it might have a hidden compartment. He knew trunks in the magical world had hidden compartments, Neville had told him that and how he had a trunk that had that compartment and he kept things he didn't want others to find, mainly pictures of his parents. Harry tried for a while but couldn't find any way to open it, then he remembered the map and his father had been one of the marauders. He used the password and tapped it with his wand, the panel slid backwards. Harry hadn't been sure if the ministry would pick up his magic, even though he wasn't really using magic. Hermione had explained how the magic was in the map, the wand tapping it just activated the magic connected to the map. Harry figured this was the same.

Harry reached in to see a small, thin book. There was nothing written on the cover, so he knew it wasn't a book like the books in the shelves. He opened the cover and began to read. At first he was shocked, but he kept reading and realised why his parent's kept this book hidden, he would do the same the moment he finished reading it. No one would ever know about this book.

Harry closed the book, placed it back in it's secret compartment, tapped it again and the panel slid shut. He sat back in the chair, turned it until he was facing out the window and began to think about what he read in the book. He turned back around and his eyes went straight for the deathly hallows death book on the shelf.

'This is a dangerous book, but maybe it can be used for people like Voldemort, Peter and even Snape,' Harry kept staring at the book before he slowly got up and moved to the bookshelf. He's hand shook a little as he reached for the book and pulled it out. He sat on the sofa staring at the book.

'I saw the spirit of Voldemort when Quirrell died. Dumbledore said Voldemort was going to return one day and I heard Trelawney make that prophecy. Peter has probably gone to find him and the prophecy said he would return more terribly then before,' Harry heard Hermione talking about the amount of deaths there was during the war with Voldemort. If he returned, there would be deaths again. He stared down at the book, 'Maybe this book will help save lives, if it really does work.'

Harry thought about what the book he found in the desk said. Any name he wrote in the deathly hallows death book, then that person would die. He knew magic has been surprising him since he began at Hogwarts, he just never thought there would be a book that could kill. He knew Ginny had been possessed by the diary and she had opened the chamber of secrets. He had seen some of the books in the restricted section at Hogwarts, so he aware that books in the wizarding world could be dangerous.

Harry knew there was no use hoping people like Fudge would be able to stop Voldemort. Fudge was friends with Lucius Malfoy who had been a death eater and probably still is. If Voldemort returned then Malfoy would probably go back to serving Voldemort along with all the others that didn't end up in Azkaban, like that McNair bloke that was going to kill Buckbeak.

Harry never wanted to be the type of person who would hurt anyone and he never thought he would kill. But after his life with the Dursley's, after Quirrell, Voldemort and Snape, not to mention how Fudge acted, he knew if he was going to survive or even just have a decent life, then he would use anything he could to get rid of those like Voldemort.

'But how would I know if it worked?' Harry opened the book, stared at the blank pages. If he wrote Voldemort and Voldemort died, how would he know? If he wrote Peter, the same thing since Peter escaped, so Harry wouldn't know if he died or not. He could write Snape, but to find out if it worked he would have to wait until he returned to Hogwarts and he still wasn't sure if he was going to return to Hogwarts.

Harry realised that if he could get rid of Snape then Hogwarts might not be so bad. The other teachers didn't allow any student to get away with things like Snape allowed the Slytherin's to get away with everything. And if he went to the quidditch world cup with the Weasley's, then he would be there until they returned to Hogwarts so he wouldn't be able to stay away. Unless he didn't answer Ron's letter. Then everyone would know he was gone from the Dursley's.

Harry sat up suddenly, 'The Dursley's. Vernon and Dudley took great pleasure in beating me and Petunia thought it was perfectly acceptable to starve me and work me like a slave. She also allowed her husband and son to beat me.'

Harry always had the belief that if there were bad people, like Voldemort in the magical world, and child abusers and murderers in the muggle world, then those types of people deserved to die. He would be satisfied if they went to jail but that didn't always happen and criminals ended up free.

'I would be able to find out if the book worked if I wrote Vernon and Petunia's name. Dudley, well, I'm not sure about him. He was only copying his parent's, he might grow up sooner or later. He was taught from a young age that what he did to Harry was fine with his parent's. He'd basically been brainwashed, so yes, Dudley might change without his parent's influencing him.'

Harry knew Vernon and Petunia were child abusers and there was a chance that Dudley could have a child that was magical, which meant they might hurt that child. He nodded, he knew what he was going to do, write the names Petunia and Vernon Dursley in the deathly hallows death book then get Dobby to take him to Surrey to find out if Petunia and Vernon died. Harry read in the other book that explained how the death book worked that it was to be used to save innocent lives and to stop a war. He thought this could be the start of getting rid of criminals, in the wizarding world and in the muggle world.

'No, I won't wait. It's best to get rid of them before anyone else dies. First I have to make sure it works. If it does then I can work on plans for my life, one without the Dursley's, Voldemort, Peter and Snape.'

Harry grinned as he jumped up. He kept hold of the book, grabbed a self inking quill then went to speak with Dobby. It was time to rid the world of murderers and child abusers.
