I do not own boku no hero academia/my hero academia

Chapter 5

A semi little (not really) chapter detailing some facts about the world.

After mom had a chat with the school, she gave me the go ahead to start looking for online courses. It didn't take me that long to find one actually, after putting in my personal details i got cracking.

I spent the first week just brushing up on old subjects. Math, science, English and surprisingly, Japanese were the easiest ones to review. A combination of having already finished school, having a bigger brain and 'living' two lives, both with different native tongues meant it was pretty much child's play and so didn't need much brushing up. The biggest problem i faced was social studies i.e history, geography and political science, thought not much that last one yet.

You'd think having already done history and geography courses would help in this regard but as i studied it become more and more apparent that i couldn't rely on it. Most of this worlds history is pretty much the same as my old one up till, i'd say, the end of the second world war. Some inventions are still made but by people with slightly different names, some companies have completely different ones but do the same job, hell i think the biggest change i came across around the 2000's was that terrorism was nonexistent. The 9/11 attack certainly didn't happen, probably because the middle east is so different here that things must of changed. Which leads into geography.

Many countries have different names and wildly wrong borders. the Middle East is completely unrecognizable with southeast Asia not far behind, and that's even before we get to the 23rd century.

Lets move back to history for a second. The current date is 2215 with me turning 16 in a few months, thank you bedroom calendar and the first recorded case of a quirk is the baby in China glowing, that was 2050. Since that first instance people all over the world started to develop quirks which led to tons of civil unrest, violence and just a total lack of sympathy for peoples fellow man. It took about twenty years before things started to calm down, All For One most likely started operating just before then, lets say 2060.

Technology ground to a halt in most fields, the space programs around the world were hit so hard they never recovered. Tech had to start playing catch up with people developing powers that wouldn't let them live a normal life with help. A man in the early quirk days that any body part of someone he touched made them numb and unresponsive, not a great power for a surgeon i know, but it says that they make a really thin arm length glove that still allowed for a sense of touch but didn't trigger his quirk.

Obviously the rise of heroes and the 'hero profession' is something worth noting. It didn't take long for the field to be legitimatized and governments all of the world following suit, America being the pioneers on that one. Speaking on some note worthy people from around the world.

With the rise of quirks it has lead to some interesting cases, these casing being something called 'caution classed people' or the slang term, 'class x'. The three most interesting cases i had found when slacking off from studying that are active today is firstly, a man that goes by the tag 'neanderthal' and is right now living in north pole, alone with no tools, just a torn shirt and bottoms. He's quite allusive but what we do know about him is that he appears to live in some sort of ice snow cave, eats fish and the occasional seal, once was caught on camera knocking a polar bear out in one hit and the only words we've heard him ever say are "go away."

the second person i found interesting is a case of a person being so strong that they tend to...take what they want, sound familiar? They go by the name 'Dune' and in this case it's the 'king' of the biggest Middle Eastern country called 'Finbaray' Fin-bar-ay. We have even less to go on with Dune but what we do know is that they don't like outside...anything from coming into his land and the shocking footage of a helicopter flying a few miles away from the nations only city though it is very big results in a massive arm made of sand rising up out of the desert and taking a swipe at the copter before it banks hard and gets out there as fast as it can.

And the last person i read about is also a case, or was? A case of someone using their powerful quirk for personal gain, not quite unlike Dune in fact, just on a smaller scale and with...competitors. She did go by the tag 'Siren' and was a gang lord that ran one of the southeast Asian islands though the islands are split up even smaller than in my past life. All we the public know is that they are in fact a woman, more than likely has a manipulator quirk a stronger version of Shino i'll guess and that a few years back a team of international heroes went in and sent her packing. Whether that means jail, death or slipped away i don't know, though my money is on the last one.

Regardless, after my brushing up on subjects and studying this new world I've found myself in i spent the next three weeks, nose to grind stone prepping for tests then taking said tests. Then after a whole month i stumble out of my room with a brain short circuiting like a future classmate of mine, hand mom my certificates that i printed off saying i pasted everything, getting a tear filled hug, then stumbling back to bed to rest all the knowledge off.

After a weekend of resting my overworked brain it was time to start working my body to just under breaking point for the rest of the nine months remaining.

...

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay...

And now our MC as finished all his school work and can now devote the last 9 months to just training. There's also some history/lore that may or may not play a role in the future. if i ever run out of canon material to work off of and i still want to keep writing this story I've got stuff to work off of. seeing as the manga looks to be ending soon without us ever seeing how quirks have effected the rest of the world (I-island doesn't really count but it's close) i might just write a lost story instead. who knows? not me! till next time.
