Previous chapter: Bella - BPOV

I gasp for unneeded air as I realize that Jasper is right. We don't have rooms for the twins. Oh my god, how are we going to fix that?

Bella - BPOV

Jasper snickers as he places another kiss on my forehead and says: "Stop worrying, pumpkin. It's not like they need a place to sleep." I slap his arm playfully as Alec and Jane rush to my side and hug me tightly as they chime in: "Yeah, mom, we don't need a room right away, so please don't worry. We never thought that we would be able to spend so much time with you and dad. We will be happy with whatever solution you come up with. We love you, mom."

I sigh happily as I give them both a big hug and say: "I love you both so much. I'm so glad that Caius let you both stay with us. Now, let your mother go. I've got rooms to find and decorate." Jane giggles as she lets go and walks back to Michael. Alec smiles widely as he turns to look at Jasper and says: "May Bree and I come along, dad?"

Jasper's face lights up as he nods affirmatively and says: "Of course, Alec. That's a great idea. It will give your mom and Char some time and space to work their magic. Peter? Emmett? Do you want to tag along?" Peter nods vigorously and says: "Hell yeah, I'm still not recovered from all the redecorating that Char had me do at our house in Texas. I love her to death, but she's a slave-driver if you let her loose on a house." I giggle as Char rolls her eyes at Peter's back as he walks toward the door and says: "You had to paint one room, Peter. Stop exaggerating."

"Yeah, and now it will be two rooms. I will need the next decade to recuperate if you put me through that. Come on, Major, let's go. Emmett, are you coming?"

Emmett shakes his head 'no' and I raise my brow questioningly as I say: "Why not, Emmett? You're more suited than Peter. He doesn't hunt animals, but you do." Emmett smiles softly as he says: "That's true, but I want to help you with the rooms, and so does Rosie. I'm so sorry for what I said before, Bella. You're an amazing mother."

I snicker as Jane stalks his way, her eyes narrowed in anger as she hisses: "What did you say to my mom, Cullen? Do I need to hurt you?" Jasper laughs as he lifts Jane into his arms to stop her advance and starts to carry her outside as he says: "Calm down, tiger. Your mother already gave him his punishment, and he learned his lesson. But I promise the next time someone does something to hurt your mother, you can punish them."

I smile softly as Jane wraps her arms around Jasper's neck and places a kiss on his cheek before saying: "Thank you, daddy." Alec follows his sister and father outside, with Bree, Michael and Peter close behind him. I giggle as I hear him say: "Can I help Jane if that happens, dad?"

Jasper – JPOV

I snicker as I ruffle Alec's hair and say: "Of course, son, and I'll be right by your sides to help the two of you because no one hurts my Bella and goes unpunished."

Alec nods in agreement, and I briefly close my eyes as I soak up the love that's radiating from my children. My life had changed so much since I found out Bella is my true mate, and I couldn't be happier than I am right now. I have everything I ever wanted right here: my gorgeous Bella with her heart of gold, my two wonderful children who would do anything to keep their mother safe, and my brother Peter and my sister Char who would always have our backs. Even Emmett and Rose seem to fit in nicely with our little family, and I wonder if they're going to stick around.

A slap on my back makes me open my eyes, and I growl as Peter says: "Stop projecting that emo-shit, Major. You make me want to go out and buy Char flowers. Can you focus? The kid needs to hunt." I turn to look at Michael and wince as I register the level of his thirst. I nod at Peter as I swing Jane on my back and start our run into the forest.

I place Jane on the ground as I hear several heartbeats nearby and wait for the rest to catch up. I motion for Michael to come closer and say: "I'm going to warn you by forehand, Michael. An animal tastes nowhere near as good as a human, and it never quenches the thirst completely. For me, that's a small price to pay, knowing that I don't have to feel the feelings of my victims. I expect you to feel the same."

A hesitant smile appears on his face, and I send him a small burst of confidence as I continue: "I want you to listen to the sounds around us, Michael. Tell me what you hear?" He closes his eyes, and I smile as I see the loving and adoring look in Jane's eyes as she looks at her mate. Alec, Bree, and Peter are watching him expectingly. A second later, his eyes snap open, and he growls softly as he says: "Four heartbeats, about 300 yards to the north."

I nod affirmatively as I pat him on the shoulder and say: "Very well, Michael. Now, focus on that sound and let your instincts guide you. It will come naturally. Don't overthink it." I watch as Michael takes a deep breath, and his eyes turn dark as the smell of blood registers in his mind. A low growl escapes him as he gives in to his basic instincts and runs toward the four heartbeats. I stop Jane from following him immediately and say: "Wait for a second, Janie. He was very thirsty. If you follow too close, he could feel threatened and hurt you. He would never forgive himself."

Jane nods as she stares in the direction that Michael went and says: "You're right, dad, but patience isn't my strong suit. I just need to know that he's okay. I love him so much, daddy, even though we only just met. I never realized how strong the mating bond is."

Peter snickers as he pats me on the back, and I roll my eyes as he says: "The Major didn't realize that himself until like a week ago, little one. It was your mother that opened his eyes. He was completely oblivious before she came along." Jane giggles as I flip him off and says: "Uncle Peter is right, dad. I mean, you did believe that Alice was your mate for more than sixty years. I'm so glad that you and mom found each other."

Peter lets out a choked sound as Jane calls him 'Uncle Peter' and pulls her close for a hug as he says: "Your mother is the most incredible woman in the world, little one, but don't tell your auntie Char that I said that. I would like to keep all my appendages in place. Now, let's go and find that mate of yours." Jane smiles brightly as she returns the hug. I nod as Peter looks at me for confirmation and say: "Yes, let's go and see how Michael's first hunt went."

In the meanwhile - Bella - BPOV

I clap my hands as Jasper, Peter, and the kids run into the forest and say: "Okay, we don't have enough rooms to accommodate the kids right now. So, we need ideas on how to expand the house if that's even possible. I don't want it to lose the southern charm it has now. What do you think, Char? Emmett? Rose?"

Char plops down on the couch and points toward the back of the house as she says: "We could add two rooms outback and connect them to the kitchen. It would make the backyard smaller, but it's not like we need space to barbecue."

Emmett moves to sit in the chair across from Char, and Rose sits on his lap as he says: "The barn in the backyard can be transformed into three or four rooms quite easily. That way, you would also have spare rooms in case Caius or someone else decides to visit. We can do everything ourselves. I'm good at building stuff, and I know that Jasper is handy too. What do you think, Bella Boo?"

I move to the chair next to Emmett's and squeeze his hand as I say: "I love that idea. It's the perfect solution. What do you think, Char?" I turn to look at Charlotte and smile as she says: "I knew that old barn was still standing for a reason. Let's draw up a plan so that Emmett can go to the hardware store for materials. We can clear out the barn while he is gone."

Emmett tells us he's going to check the general structure of the barn while the three of us start discussing our ideas for the barn. It doesn't take us long to come to an agreement, and I smile brightly as we explain our plan to Emmett after he returns from his inspection. Emmett points out a few minor things but agrees with most of our ideas. Rose assists him in calculating how many materials we'll need and joins him on his run to the hardware store while Char and I start ordering decorations and linen for all the rooms. I smile happily, knowing that Alec and Jane are going to love their new rooms.

Jasper – JPOV

We find Michael in a small clearing, and I smile as Jane jumps into his open arms. He kisses the top of her head and says: "It worked, Jane. I almost can't believe it. I don't have to suffer each time I feed." He lifts his head to look at me and says: "Thank you so much, Major."

Jane smiles brightly as she turns to me and says: "I knew you could help him, daddy." I hug my daughter and pat Michael on the shoulder as I say: "There's no need to thank me. I will always be there to help you. You just need to ask."

Alec moves closer to hug his sister, and Bree hesitates as she walks up to her brother. Michael smirks as he pulls her close for a hug and says: "What's wrong, Bree?" Alec looks worried as Bree lets out a sob and hugs Michael even tighter as she says: "I'm so sorry, Michael. I tried to save you from this life. I'm so sorry you got dragged into this just because I had a gift. Please, forgive me."

Michael lets out a loud laugh as he spins Bree around and says: "God, Bree, there's nothing to forgive! I was so worried when you disappeared all those weeks ago. I thought you were dead and that I would never see you again. Why would I be mad at you when I get to be your brother for the rest of eternity? Why would I be mad when all this led me to Jane? You're being silly, Bree, but I love you for it."

Alec and Jane look at their mates with love-filled eyes as Michael hugs a giggling Bree to his chest and says: "I love you, sis." Bree smiles as she pulls back a little and says: "I love you too, Michael."

I snicker as Peter clears his throat and says: "It's not that I'm not a fan of all this lovey-dovey stuff, but enough is enough. Time to go home before my woman decides to redecorate the whole house. Believe me! You don't want that to happen."

I roll my eyes at his back as he sprints off. I turn to look at my kids with a smile on my face as I say: "Don't listen to him. Char is great at decorating houses. Come on, let's get back to your mother. I bet she has a nice surprise for you."
