Miraculous: Tales of Dove Papillon, Cat Noir, Night Crow and crew.

Chapter 12: Timebreaker Averted.

(Author's notes: In this chapter, just when the racing dare between Alix and Kim is about to start, Night Crow's "son" Seamus will be holding onto the rabbit-themed pocket watch, he will secretly teleport it into Night Crow's laps and Seamus will replace it with a replica that acts in the same manner as the Rabbit Miraculous in the sense of the hologram projector working, but not actually acting like the real deal one hundred percent. That's mainly because of the fact that Night Crow is still gonna proceed with his plans to destroy the Rabbit Miraculous before Bunnyx comes into existence to ruin Night Crow's future. In Night Crow's view, because Bunnyx chose to keep such a dangerous, world-ending secret of a magnitude equivalent to the Multiversal War from Transformers and Crisis on Infinite Earths from DC Comics put together, the Rabbit Miraculous has caused nothing but disaster.

Additionally, as the Heroes of Paris find out from Night Crow, Leona, and from Seamus Emmett Williams himself, the laws of time travel are the same as what we all saw in the Back To The Future trilogy. But not the crappy time travel laws we saw in Avengers: Endgame.

Moreover, there'll be a scene where Night Crow makes sure that the first Rabbit Miraculous – the one Alix is given for her birthday – is permanently destroyed in this timeline so that way he can grant the other one to Bunnyx's permanent replacement. Not even the Order Of The Guardians can do a thing about it! MWA HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Lastly, up until a few weeks ago, I didn't know the real transformation phrase for the Butterfly Miraculous in the hands of a heroic user. But even though I'm now aware what the heroic transformation phrase is, I prefer my version. For those of you that don't know, the transformation and detransformation phrases for the Butterfly Miraculous in the hands of a heroic user – chronologically, of course – are Nooroo, Wings Rise and Wings Fall. BLEH! I would've preferred it if the transformation and detransformation phrases were Nooroo, Bright Wings Rise and Bright Wings Fall.

(Paris, France, April 4th, 2015, third person POV...)

In the Dupain-Cheng bakery, Marinette walks down the stairs and sees her mother attaching a flower to her hair.

Sabine asks, "Well? With the flower or without it?"

Marinette answers questioningly, "Uh, with?"

Sabine asks again, "You're sure it's not better without the flower?"

Marinette answers, "Either way, you look perfect, Mom."

Sabine states, "You know? It's not every day you celebrate your twentieth wedding anniversary."

Tom calls out from downstairs, "Marinette! Could you come here for a minute, please?"

Marinette rushes towards her father in the bakery downstairs.

Tom turns around and asks Marinette, "Well?"

Marinette asks in response, "Well, what?"

Tom replies, "My mustache. I trimmed it. Is it too short? Should I shave the whole thing off? Maybe it's crooked on one –"

Marinette interrupts his rambling, "You look perfect, Dad. Uh, except for one thing."

She points at his dirty baking apron, which he happens to still be wearing.

Tom looks at his apron and says, "Uh? Thanks, sweetheart."

Tom runs off to change out of his apron.

Marinette chuckles and calls out, "No problem, Dad!"

Later, Marinette pushes her parents out of the doors to the bakery.

Marinette says, "You're going to be late!"

Tom states, "Now don't forget Ms. Chamack will be coming by to pick up the Eiffel Tower cake in thirty minutes. I'm depending on you."

Marinette replies, "Yeah, I remember. No sweat. And if I need to be somewhere because of an akuma?"

Sabine asks, "You can just use a clone."

Tom and Sabine leave while Marinette goes back inside.

She lets Nooroo out.

Marinette remarks, "Wow, they've been married for twenty years. That's pretty cool, right, Nooroo?"

Nooroo replies, "Most definitely cool, Marinette. Time flies when you're having fun."

Marinette remarks jokingly while holding up her completed homework, "And it stands still when you're doing homework."

Nooroo chuckles in response.

At the Grand Paris Hotel, Tom and Sabine sit down at a table to eat their anniversary dinner.

Tom notices Alix Kubdel and waves at her. Alix waves back and her father, Alim Kubdel notices.

Alix explains, "They're Marinette's parents. You know, one of the chicks I hang out with?"

Alim responds, "Yes, I remember. They make the best bread in the whole of Paris. And I definitely loved the Christmas tree logs Marinette gave us for Christmas last year." Alim notices one of Alix's sneakers and asks, "Couldn't you have made more of an effort to dress nicely?"

Alix asks in response while pointing at her cap, "What do you mean? I took off my cap."

Alim states, "But this is a special day."

Alix replies, "Well, it's only a birthday."

Alim explains, "No, this is a special birthday." He reaches inside his jacket and pulls out a pocket watch, unaware that it's actually the Rabbit Miraculous. Alim continues, "This family heirloom was made by one of our ancestors many, many years ago. It's been passed down from one generation to the next, traditionally passed down to the youngest child on their fifteenth birthday. And today, it's your turn to inherit it."

Alix says in response, "its pretty sweet, Dad. But I've already got a watch, synced up to my smartphone."

Alim states, "But sometimes there's more to things than meets the eye. Let's just say that our ancestor was..." He opens the pocket watch as he finishes, "...ahead of his time."

The hologram projector shows a woman holding up a large enough clock.

Alix gasps in awe.

However, Alim closes the pocket watch before the hologram can reveal anything at the wrong time.

Alim continues, "Of course, I'd understand if you'd rather have me buy you a new pair of rollerblades."

Alix says quickly, "No, Dad! I'm stoked to have it. It's awesome. Thank you!"

Alix's phone rings.

Alim inquires, "Are your friends waiting?"

Alix replies, "Yeah, but I don't wanna bail on you. It's cool."

Alim replies back, "No, no, go ahead. Now take good care of it."

Alix nods and proceeds on her way to the race where her little bet with Kim was to take place.

Meanwhile, in Marinette's bedroom, Marinette was finishing her science homework.

Thanks to her photographic memory, Marinette has become nothing short of a professional in her science classes.

Of course, Marinette had to remind Nooroo that she doesn't like being distracted by even encouraging words when she's trying to concentrate.

Just then, Marinette's phone rings to signify that Alya was calling her.

Marinette picks up and says, "Hey Alya! What's going on? The what? The bet between Alix and Kim? No, of course I didn't forget! I already did make the banner for it. Yes, I did double check my calendar. And yes, I do have a photographic memory. I know everyone's counting on me. In five minutes? You don't say. No sweat, I'm on my way. See you guys there." Marinette hangs up and turns to her clone.

Marinette says, "Clone, I need you to stay here. If Mom and Dad call, it'll be to inform you about Ms. Chamack arriving to pick up her Eiffel Tower cake. But bear in mind that Ms. Chamack might be coming earlier than 20 minutes, so be ready."

Marinette's clone replies, "Yes, Marinette. I'll be ready and inform you about my progress."

The real Marinette says aloud, "Nooroo, Bright Wings Rise!"

Marinette transforms into Dove Papillon without her transformation sequence.

She flies away to Trocadéro, detransforms, arrives on time and shows everyone her banner.

Surprisingly, even Seamus Williams is delighted by the banner.

An unknown person says, "Oh, that's beautiful!"

Adrien states, "Impressive, Marinette!"

Adrien winks at Marinette and she smirks in return.

Kim then states arrogantly, "You all picked the wrong side to cheer on. Looks like Alix isn't even showing up! Probably too chicken to race an extreme athlete like me."

Seamus growls a little demonically, scaring even Kim a little bit.

Seamus says in response while doing his best impression of Blackheart, "Don't. Ever. Call Alix Kubdel a chicken AGAIN."

Alix then states, "Spoke too soon, Kim. And I will agree with 'Blackheart;' don't EVER call me a chicken again."

Everyone cheers her on.

Alix continues, "Your ridiculous bets are over. I'm gonna leave you in the dust, meathead!"

Kim retorts, "You're no match for me. My neck is bigger than your thigh."

Seamus could barely hold in his laughter.

But it seriously unnerved everyone a bit because practically nothing could make Seamus laugh.

Max then intervenes and says, "Let's review the official rules. Two laps around the fountains; approximately five hundred yards. The first one over the line will be declared the victor. If Kim triumphs, Alix will relinquish her rollerblades to him. However, if Alix triumphs, Kim will be prohibited from making another dare for the rest of the school year."

Juleka says in agreement, "We're through with all of them stupid dares!"

Ivan then states, "Uh-huh, that's right!"

Nathanael then says, "No more dares!"

Seamus then calls out, "Hold on! Isn't Alix forgetting something?"

Alix then remembers, "Oh, yeah!" She then hands the Rabbit Miraculous to Seamus, who gladly puts it in his pocket.

Seamus then vows, "I vow that I will protect your family heirloom with my life, my dear Alix."

Alix blushes a little bit before she gets in position.

Of course, unseen by even the crowd, Seamus secretly and discreetly teleports the Rabbit Miraculous into Night Crow's clawed hands, and replaces the real deal with a non-magical replica that only has the working hologram projectors.

Max calls out, "On your marks, get set... GO!"

Alix and Kim start racing, with Kim on foot and Alix on her rollerblades while everyone cheers on.

About fifteen seconds later, Max calls out, "Last lap!"

After another ten seconds, Alix and Kim are still racing. They are about to cross the finish line. Seamus quietly chortles to himself as Alix crosses the finish line first. And thankfully, nobody notices because they have one brain cell, so to speak.

Alix cries out, "Yeah! Hahaha!"

Kim states, "I call a rematch. The short delay threw me off!"

Seamus croons evilly, "Nope. Alix won the race fair and square. I'm a witness, and you can sue me all you like; in the end, it ain't gonna work."

Alix skates over to Seamus and hugs him in gratitude, completely taking everyone off guard.

Seamus hugs her back and gives her back her "family heirloom."

Alix thanks Seamus and kisses him on the cheek, completely surprising everyone once again.

Seamus' thoughts were going into overdrive as he realizes that Alix Kubdel loves him. Something that Night Crow didn't think was possible since Alix Kubdel had no chronological romantic relationship with anyone in the "primary timeline" and also because of her averted fate as Bunnyx, the weak and pathetic excuse for a guardian of time and space.

In his lair, Night Crow anticipated this and so, in the past, he and Leona decided to have a child after they got married.

The real Seamus Emmett Williams was born on the same day that Night Crow was born: January the fifth, 2000.

In the present day, Night Crow clasps his hand around the Rabbit Miraculous and whispers to himself, "Fluff, Master Fu, I'm sure neither of you will forgive me for what I'm about to do to get rid of a pathetic excuse for a superhero and a pathetic excuse for a guardian of time and space below the levels of Vector Prime and God Himself. And I don't expect either of you to actually forgive me for what I'm about to do. But the Rabbit Miraculous must be destroyed. Time travel is too dangerous to be used, whether for good, for evil, or as a last resort. This infernal time machine should never have been invented. It's caused nothing but disaster. And secrets of a world-ending magnitude like the Cat Blanc timeline should never be kept secret from the protagonists of the story. Cataclysm."

Night Crow's Cataclysm disintegrates the Rabbit Miraculous, literally leaving nothing but a pile of dust and ashes.

Meanwhile, Alix is enthusiastic that she won the race and that she has someone she never thought to depend on for taking care of her own family heirloom.

Of course, Seamus said, "While I'm glad that you consider me a friend, it's your responsibility to take care of your own material possessions. Think about it. If either of these guys dropped the pocket watch and you skated over it, you would've gotten Akumatized just because you didn't know you were supposed to take care of the heirloom yourself. Besides, have you even forgotten that your pants have pockets to put the watch in so that you don't drop it?"

Alix's expression was more than enough of an answer that Seamus needed.

Seamus continues kindly, "If you want to take care of your material possessions, you must be able to consider the consequences of letting someone else do it for you."

Alix is brought to tears as she realizes Seamus was right.

Seamus hugs Alix and she graciously accepts it.

Chloe whispers to Alya, "Is it just me, or is Seamus coming out of his shell?"

Alya replies, "Yeah. Seamus hates physical contact because of his fear of germs. And yet, he's comforting Alix Kubdel of all people."

In Hawk Moth's lair, Hawk Moth monologues, "This isn't over yet. I'll get my next champion. I swear it. No matter how long it takes, past, present and future, I'll get the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses and change the past."

Meanwhile, Daniel was explaining to Master Fu what happened while leaving out the details of the Rabbit Miraculous and his alterations to the time stream. To be honest, there was no need to, for Master Fu already knew and he understood.

Although, Master Fu also said that if Night Crow wanted to find a permanent replacement for Bunnyx, he must find someone from his home dimension with the essential qualities of being a guardian of time and space.

Meanwhile, during the whole thing, Marinette's clone was able to successfully give Nadia Chamack her Eiffel Tower cake while avoiding suspicion.

To say the least, Dove Papillon was there to make it look like she was on patrol just in case Nadia got any ideas about who Dove Papillon really is.

"Marinette" says, "I hope you like your Eiffel Tower cake, Ms. Chamack, because me and my parents worked very hard to get the details right."

Nadia smiles and is sent on her way.

A few minutes later, Tom and Sabine arrive from their anniversary dinner.

The real Marinette drawls, "Hey! So, did you have a nice anniversary?"

Tom replies, "We sure did. Although, Ms. Chamack said she saw Dove Papillon on patrol."

Marinette replies, "Oh yeah. I made myself appear with my clone to make sure – for added effect – that Nadia doesn't think that Marinette Dupain-Cheng is Dove Papillon."

Sabine remarks, "Well, thanks to that, your identity is safe."

Tom adds, "Never forget, with or without perfected clones or perfected Sentimonsters, there's only one Marinette, and we're counting on her to save the day. In and out of the butterfly armor."

Tom winks and Marinette and her parents hug each other.

Meanwhile, Night Crow was flying across the world while humming out loud the Superman theme song.

Night Crow eventually flies outside of the Earth's atmosphere and smiles for the camera.

Also, some clarification: as the title implies, Alix's Akumatization into Timebreaker was averted because her "family heirloom" wasn't destroyed in front of her. But Night Crow is still proceeding with his plans to have Bunnyx permanently replaced.
