James Potter was, quite frankly, worried about Georgia. She hadn't answered any of his letters in the past week, and usually, when he sent Georgia letters, her response was an immediate one.

"I'm sure that it's nothing to worry about darling." Euphemia Potter tried to console her son. "She's probably just spending some time with her family."

"Mum, Georgia's family hates her, they treat her like dirt. Do you remember how Sirius' mother treated him at the Christmas Ball? Well, if Georgia's family had been there, they would have treated her the exact same way. They hate her because she's a witch. Her father...he may have hurt her."

Euphemia sighed softly. "Do you know where Georgia lives? If it makes you feel better then we can go to her house and check on her, make sure that she's alright."

James nodded his head. "Thanks, Mum."

"We'll go and check on her tomorrow, alright?"

James really hoped that Georgia was okay. Maybe his mother was right and maybe Georgia had just been really busy. He hoped that was what the case was. James went up to his room, writing letters to Sirius, Remus, and Peter, telling them the situation and asking them if they had heard from Georgia. He glanced out of his window, watching as it started to rain. "I really hope that you're okay, Georgie."

At first, Georgia had no clue where to go. She had escaped one of her problems, she didn't have to deal with her father and his abuse anymore, but one problem still remained: where was she to go? She obviously couldn't go back home, and she didn't know where else to go. James and Remus both lived out in the country, she had no idea where Peter lived, and Sirius...her eyes widened a bit. Sirius. That was it! She could go to Sirius' house. Of course, she didn't know how thrilled his parents would be with having a Muggle appear on their doorstep, but it was surely worth a try, wasn't it?

It took Georgia a couple of hours because she kept getting lost in the London streets, but she finally arrived. Grimmauld Place. Georgia looked up at the brick building, biting her lip nervously.

"Come on Georgia, man up," she muttered to herself. It was either this or go back to her father. That thought made her walk up to the door, her knuckles rapping gently on it.

The door opened a moment or two later, and a rather sour-looking house-elf stared up at her.

Georgia plastered a smile on her face. "I'm Georgia Kelly, a friend of Sirius', is he here?"

The house-elf squinted as he looked at her, and Georgia was certain that she must have looked a sight. It had been raining, so Georgia was soaked, her hair hung limply and her clothes were sticking to her body. It was cold too, so Georgia was shaking like a leaf on top of everything else.

But eventually, the house-elf shuffled off, and about three or four minutes later, Sirius arrived at the door. "Georgia, what the hell are you doing here?" He asked her in a whisper. "How...how did you even get here?"

"I walked."

"You...walked? In this downpour?"

"Sirius, I wouldn't have come if I had somewhere else to go, but something...something's happened. My father, he...he tried to attack me."

Adrenaline had kept Georgia from thinking about what had nearly happened, but now that the adrenaline was starting to fade away, she broke down.

Sirius pulled the sobbing girl into a tight hug, and Georgia clutched at his chest. "He...he came up to my room, he was drunk...he pinned me to the wall, his hands were going up my sides. I...I didn't know what he was going to try and do, so I...I fought him, I kicked him between the legs and then I ran out of the house. Sirius, I...I don't know what to do, I'm scared…"

"Ssh…" Sirius murmured, rubbing her back. "It's alright, you're safe now. Come on." Sirius led her inside and up to his room. "My parents and Regulus are all asleep, which is probably a good thing." Sirius knew that there was no way that his parents would allow a Muggleborn to stay with them, least of all the Muggleborn that had caused all the commotion at the Christmas Ball. Sirius still remembered rather well the tirade that his mother had gone on because Georgia had been sorted into Slytherin.

"Um, there's a connecting bathroom right there," Sirius said as they entered his bedroom. "You can use it if you want to take a shower or something, you can borrow some of my clothes until we figure something else out."

"Thank you, Siri." Georgia took his hand, squeezing it lightly. "You don't know how much I appreciate this." She went into the bathroom and shut the door, and a few moments later, Sirius heard the shower turn on. He rummaged through his drawers, getting her out a shirt and some pants that he thought might fit. He left them right outside the bathroom door and he sat on his bed with his back towards the bathroom, so that Georgia might have some relative privacy. There was a tapping at his window, and Sirius turned to see James' owl with a letter in its beak, and it looked pissed at having to be delivering a letter in the rain. Sirius stood and opened the window, and the owl flew in, dropping the letter on Sirius' bed before perching on the headboard.

Sirius grabbed the letter and he opened it, his eyes scanning its contents. He heard the shower get turned off a few minutes later, and eventually, Georgia joined him on the bed. "Who's that from?" Georgia looked far more refreshed and calmer, and Sirius handed her the letter. "Apparently Jamsie is quite worried about you, he and Euphemia were going to go to your house tomorrow to check on you."

"Well, I guess that I had better let them know that I'm alright then." Georgia went over to Sirius' desk, jotting down a quick letter telling them that she was with Sirius, but that all of her school things had been left at her father's house.

The owl flew off once more, and Georgia sighed, stifling a yawn.

"I think that someone needs to get to sleep," Sirius said with a chuckle. He insisted that Georgia sleep on the bed, even though Georgia tried to fight him on it. "Georgia, you're exhausted, you need someplace comfortable to sleep, I'll just take some blankets and sleep on the floor."

By this point, Georgia was far too tired to argue with Sirius, so she crawled into his bed, and she fell asleep the moment that her head touched the pillow.
