Yay! We're finally getting into it! I finally buckled down and started writing now that I have a week off, so I figured it was time to finally start posting this.
I hope you like it!
Chapter 1: Echoes of Evil
"You're a fool!"
"I had hoped your position would rid you of such arrogance," the older man, whose dark hair was streaked with greys and whites, sighed heavily. He hadn't even turned to look at the woman who was glaring at him, which only made her more furious.
"It's not arrogance! I'm simply thinking logically!" she shouted, before taking a breath. "Gaius," the woman spoke in a softer voice. "Listen to reason, I implore you," she pleaded.
"What reason is there in what you speak, Eidolon?" Gaius turned to the dark haired woman, whose eyes gleamed with anger and...something more. "You speak of creating a senseless war. All to prove yourself," he shook his head, disappointed.
"Not myself," Eidolon pushed, shaking her head. She had to get him to see she was right. If she convinced Gaius, then everyone would listen, instead of avoiding her. "These artifacts, they're powerful. We're powerful," she lifted a hand to demonstrate her power, collecting in her hand. "We could end all conflict out there. By using what we have to our advantage, we could-"
"There is a reason we store these artifacts, Eidolon," Gaius interrupted, shaking his head. "It is not to flaunt ourselves as higher beings. It is to keep the rest of the universe safe from them. By using them, all we will do is threaten those sameself people, telling them that we are readying ourselves for a war," he warned her. Eidolon refused to back down, especially when he continued to watch her with a disappointed expression.
"And if someone comes for these artifacts? What if someone tries to steal them from us?" she challenged, and his eyes hardened.
"Then we will act accordingly, as you have been trained to do," his voice was warning now. "Eidolon, I have entertained these ridiculous ideas long enough. Return to your duties," he ordered.
"Gaius, please-"
"Go," he didn't raise his voice - he never did - but his voice gave no room for argument. Eidolon knew she wouldn't get any further with him. Without a word, Eidolon stormed off, shoving past the recruits passing by, and headed back down the stairs to the lower levels, where only a few worked.
"Oh Gaius," she hissed to herself, furious that once again she had been dismissed without being heard. "You're a fool," she looked around at the collection of artifacts that had been deemed too dangerous to see the light of day. One in particular, kept in a case on a high shelf, made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up as she got close. She could feel its power. "All this power. We could rule the universe, and it wouldn't matter if they knew we were readying for war. Nobody could stop us," she shook her head.
Eidolon took a deep breath. If Gaius wouldn't listen to her, then she would just have to show him. Him, and anyone else who thought she was arrogant. Her eyes darted around for anything that would make for the perfect example, and she smiled when she spotted an orb nearby. "Perfect," she murmured, lifting it down. Immediately it began to pulse with light that matched the colour of her powers. "Just a little…" she let her hands light up with energy, and the orb grew brighter. To her confusion, however, the light grew brighter and brighter, starting to siphon her energy. "No!" she gasped, dropping it.
It hit the ground, and the light exploded out, engulfing her and everything around it.
Waking with a jolt, Eidolon looked around, before sighing heavily and putting a hand to her face as she cursed, dismissing her dream of the past. Shaking her head, she got up from her makeshift bed, and started moving, wandering the silent ship.
The Warrior Dome was a wreck, and had been since the asteroid had smashed into it. Yet she and Odius had lived, along with the presenter Cosmo, and a few others. They'd tended to their wounds, plotting how to get the power they had let slip through their fingers.
"Hurry up, slowpokes!" the rough voice made her stop, and frown. That wasn't a voice she recognised. Nor was the whimper that followed. Silently she made her way down the corridors, coming across Odieus, whose golden eyes seemed to glow in the darkness. She motioned for Eidolon to remain quiet, and they followed the sound of the intruders.
"This is some kind of stage," the leader of the intruders considered. When something sparked, there was a shriek of fear. "Must be from a TV show," the leader considered.
"Huh? Galaxy...Warriors?" the whimpering voice read aloud.
"Hah! Fantastic! That fool Galvanax must have met a real nasty end!" the leader laughed. "I can sell this whole ship for scrap!" he declared.
"Scrap?" Odieus burst out, storming towards them as they whirled around. "Just try it!" she snarled, her small hammer raised in warning.
"Who do you think you are?" the armoured leader snarled, pointing a blaster at them.
"Let me present, Madame Odius!" Cosmos declared grandly, gesturing to her.
"If you mess with me, I'll scrap you!" she threatened.
"Easy!" the intruder growled, sounding less threatened and more entertained by her words. "I'm Sledge, Bounty Hunter and scrap collector," he told her, and Odius immediately reared back.
"Impossible!" she snarled as Cosmo gasped in alarm. Eidolon frowned, not understanding. "You were destroyed by those Power Rangers months ago!" Odius growled, and Sledge gave a snarl.
"Power Rangers!" he kicked aside some of the rubble, and Wrench yelped as it narrowly missed him. "Don't make me laugh! They could never destroy me!" he declared.
"We witnessed it ourselves! That terrifying boy wielding the Dark Energem!" Cosmo declared. Galvanax had sent his cameras down ahead to see what was happening. "Killed you in one powerful blow. Made for rather disappointing views, I must say," he shook his head. Sledge only laughed.
"That boy? The only ones he destroyed were Fury and that traitor Snide," he scoffed. Cosmo tilted his head as Odius hummed in consideration.
"And how did you get here?" she asked, thoughtful.
"Through a wormhole, avoiding those brats when they tried to take down my ship," he growled.
"A wormhole!" Odius laughed. "You fool, you jumped across timelines!" she taunted, and he growled.
"Look, it doesn't matter. I thought your ship was abandoned. It looked like that asteroid destroyed everything," he explained, and she laughed again.
"I'm tougher than that. I just want to get out of here," she replied.
"Maybe we can help each other. You want to get your ship running, and I want that worthless...rock. Give it to me, and I'll fix this tin can, as good as new," he offered.
"Yes!" Cosmo cheered, excited.
"Why do you want the asteroid?" Eidolon asked, eyebrow raised. "If it's worthless," she repeated the word he had used.
"Uh, well, my wife, Poisandra, loves rocks," he laughed weakly. "Loves them, especially asteroids. Right, Wrench?" he turned to the robot beside him. "Right?" he repeated, hitting him.
"Oh! Yes! Loves the rocks," he groaned. "Rocks, asteroids!" he insisted as Sledge listed types of rocks.
"Fine, we have a deal," Odius agreed before he could continue.
"Excellent!" Sledge declared. "Wrench, get these prisoners to work," he ordered. "I want this ship ready to go, pronto!" he shouted, walking off.
"Go on, you heard him!" the robot shouted to the prisoners behind him.
"Pleasure doing business," Sledge slammed a hand to Odius as he passed her.
"Yes, the pleasure was all...yours," Odius muttered when he'd gone.
"Take me with you when you leave," the female prisoner requested when the others had gone. "And you'll have my undying loyalty," she promised.
"All of my underlings are loyal to me," Odius scoffed. Eidolon rolled her eyes, hoping she wasn't being counted as an 'underling'. She was using Odius, as much as the fox-faced witch was using her. "What makes you special?" she asked the prisoner.
"When you're a prisoner, you overhear things. I know why Sledge wants that asteroid so badly," she whispered to them.
"Tell me more," Odius turned to her, interested, and freed her from her shackles.
"Thank you!" she sighed, rubbing her wrists. "Have you ever heard of...Ninja Super Steel?" she whispered.
"Super Steel?" Eidolon repeated.
"I like the sound of that," Odius murmured. "Come with me," she ordered the pair, laughing as she walked off.
It didn't take long at all to get the ship back up and running, and as Sledge's ship pulled the asteroid away, the Kudabots started up the engines on the Warrior Dome.
"Sledge and that dreadful asteroid are gone! Time for your report, Badonna, Eidolon," she ordered the two.
"I extracted all the Super Steel from the Asteroid," Eidolon said, sounding bored as Badonna held the case out to Odius.
"Sledge was too busy fixing your ship to notice," she laughed, opening the case to reveal chunks of metal that shimmered purple.
"It's beautiful!" Odius gasped. "Now, not even the Rangers can stop me! I was right to trust you, Badonna!" she laughed, and Badonna bowed to her.
"Thank you, Madam," she murmured.
"Kudabots! Take us to Earth," Odius barked over to the two manning the controls. They chittered, starting up the systems. "Cosmo!" she shouted.
"Yes, Madam, at your service!" Cosmo burst into the room and gave a deep bow.
"It's time to put 'Galaxy Warriors' back on the air!" she declared, and Cosmo gasped with excitement as Eidolon rolled her eyes. Typical. Odius was as bad for theatrics as Galvanax had been.
"Fabulous! It'll be great to have my adoring fans back! Yes!" Cosmo skipped out again, laughing to himself.
"Now we just need to find the Nexus Prism. Those Earth teenagers are in for a nasty surprise!" Odius laughed, and despite her feelings on Odius' plan, Eidolon smirked. With enough power, she'd restore Sentai-6, and prove to Gaius and all the others that she had been right all along.
Heckyl always found that he slept better, on the nights that Teddie sneaked into his room.
Nightmares of the past, of the destruction of his home planet, of Snide and Arcanon, became non-existent when she would slip in. It still surprised him, that she was able to do so and not wake him, or her keen-eyed guardian who was very determined to make sure the pair stayed in separate rooms. But apparently it was something to do with Ninja training, and he didn't question it.
Especially when he woke up first to her curled in against him. Fast asleep with her unruly black hair covering most of her face while also splayed out around the pillow, Teddie was the picture of innocence. Something that she was most definitely not. One hand was curled into his chest, lightly holding onto his shirt, as her head rested in the crook of his arm. For a moment, Heckyl considered the idea of staying there forever, and his face warmed at the idea, and he quickly pushed the thoughts away.
Pushing Teddie's hair from her face, he studied her sleeping expression. Peaceful and relaxed, like she hadn't gone through hardships and tough times, especially over the last year. At least they finally had some time to relax, after Galvanax had been defeated and his ship destroyed. Even now, the hardest thing was returning to school, now that the holidays were over. Heckyl then gave a small sigh.
"How long are you going to pretend to sleep?" he asked quietly. For a moment, Teddie didn't react, before her big brown eyes finally opened and she looked up at him innocently.
"I wasn't pretending. I was just..not accepting that I was awake," Teddie replied, voice thick from only being awake, and she gave an innocent smile that Heckyl only ever saw her use when she was trying to make people think that she was innocent.
"Uhuh," he said dryly, not about to believe it. Teddie giggled, never able to keep up the facade with him for long.
"You're awake early. Normally you sleep way later than me. Everything okay?" she asked, concern making its way into her expression. Heckyl didn't reply at first, watching her as he stroked her hair idly, knocking some of it back into her face. Her caring nature always tugged at his heart. It still caught him off guard, that she cared about him; that she would look at him that way if something seemed off. Teddie was powerful in her own right - he could feel it, especially when so close to her - but it was the gentle actions and things she said that always hit him hardest.
"I think I'm in love with you," the words slipped from his mouth before he realised what he was saying. It was only when Teddie's eyes widened that Heckyl realised what he'd said. Embarrassed beyond belief, he wanted nothing more than to hide under the covers and disappear, but he didn't try to backtrack, knowing that he'd only spoken the truth. Sure that his own alarm mirrored Teddie's, Heckyl stared at her, not sure how he wanted her to respond.
"You think?" whatever way he expected her to reply, it wasn't by parroting that part of his sentence. Teddie pushed herself up, keeping her hand on his chest as she leaned over him, face impossibly still - something he had seen her mother do a lot. "Huh," Teddie then grinned. "I know I'm in love with you," she confessed. Heckyl could only stare at her, looking baffled. It made the girl giggle. "How could I not be?" she asked softly, and leaned in to kiss him.
Teddie was sure that her heart was about to burst from her chest. It wasn't how she expected her morning to go, but it made things interesting. As he pulled her down into him, the two sharing kiss after kiss, and Teddie could feel his own heart pounding too. She knew he still felt guilty for the things he'd done, but she didn't hold him guilty of any of it. After all, Ryan had done awful things too, and she didn't blame him. The same could be said for many of the Ranger family that she knew. Teddie just wanted him to realise that too.
A bang on the door made her yelp, and Heckyl jolted, falling out of the bed with a cry.
"Out. It's time for school," Minos' unimpressed voice echoed in, and Teddie groaned, sinking back down under the covers.
Summer had gone far too fast. Daisy was certain of it, as she eased her way into the parking lot and killed the engine of her bike. She pulled off her helmet, letting her hair fall back around her shoulders, and adjusted the bag on her bag before heading towards the school building.
"Daisy!" she smiled when she heard Teddie, and saw the girl hurrying towards her. "It's good to see you. Your hair! It's so pretty!" she exclaimed, admiring the shorter hair, that had a mix of black and red tips. She blushed at the compliment.
"Thanks," she smiled, fidgeting with a lock.
"How was your summer? It feels like it's been forever since I saw any of you guys," Teddie commented, making her laugh lightly.
"It's only been a few weeks, Ted. And it was uneventful. How about you? That play you were in was great!" Daisy told her as they walked inside, where students were bustling around, catching up before classes started.
"Thanks!" Teddie smiled widely, glad that her friends had been able to attend the performance. "I got lucky, getting to do it, considering I was only an understudy," she shrugged, and Daisy gave her an incredulous look.
"You were great. Especially since you've never done that stuff before," Teddie blushed at her friend's adamant words, pleased. She'd auditioned for a role in a play in Summer Cove during the holidays, and had been selected as a backup for one of the main roles, giving her plenty to do. And she'd loved every minute of it.
"Man, we had such a great summer," they looked around as Brody and Levi walked in, followed by Sarah, Preston and Dane. "But I'm still glad to be back at school," Brody grinned as he looked around.
"You've got to be the only person here thinking that," Teddie told him as they walked over to the pair.
"Teddie!" Levi lifted her in a hug, making the girl giggle.
"It's good to see you too, but you don't have to break me," she told him as he set her down.
"Summer Cove High hasn't changed one bit," Sarah commented, hoverboard under her arm.
"It's not even been that long," Daisy laughed. Her smile softened as Brody took her hand, linking their fingers.
"It has been for me," they looked at Dane as he looked around, feeling nostalgic. He'd come with them, to return his old trophy to its place in the cabinet. No longer a hiding place for the Ninja Steel, he felt it should go back to the school. "Over twenty years since I graduated this place," he chuckled, looking around as he remembered. He was still attending the Flame Ninja Academy at the time as well. "Anyway, better put this back where it belongs," he approached the trophy cabinet, which was left unlocked, and returned his trophy to the empty spot. "And I'll see you boys after school," he nodded to the pair.
"Bye dad!" Brody and Levi called as he left.
"Must be great to have your dad back," Sarah commented as they walked through the foyer.
"Yeah, it's pretty epic," Brody had to agree. After ten years as a prisoner, separated from his brother and believing his father was dead, it was something he'd slowly gotten used to.
"Teddie!" the Earth Ninja laughed as Hayley almost knocked her over in a hug. "It's great to see you!" she smiled brightly at her friend.
"It's not been that long," Daisy laughed.
"Aww, is someone feeling left out?" she gave a cry as Calvin hugged her suddenly, and started laughing.
"Get off, you goofball," she shoved him off, still laughing as he grinned at her. They all took a seat, with some time left before classes started, they were enjoying each other's company, not having spent as much time together since school let out.
"Huh…" nearby, Aaron watched his cousin as she laughed at something Calvin said. He spun the ball in his hands, wondering when Daisy had become so friendly with others. Despite his best attempts, she'd always been more of an outsider, and seemed to prefer it that way. He shook his head, and turned his attention back to his own friends, happy that she seemed to be having fun.
"Hey…" Sarah murmured as she saw Savannah walk past, looking exhausted. She glanced at the group, and glared at them.
"What?" she demanded, but kept walking before they could say anything.
"She's as cheery as ever," Brody said dryly. "I guess your spell did stick, Ted, or we'd probably have a lot more problems," he considered, thinking about the events that took place before the summer break. She hummed, watching Savannah for a moment longer.
"Thanks, for getting us out," she turned to Savannah in surprise when the girl thanked her. She tilted her head, watching her silently.
"It's what we do. Besides, you guys were caught up in this because of us. It's only right," Teddie finally said with a shrug.
"Even so," Savannah shrugged. "Don't get me wrong. I still don't like you," she said bluntly, making Teddie smirk.
"And I don't regret pouring milkshake over your head," she replied.
"Oh, that's how I know you," Heckyl murmured, remembering that day clearly. A small smile played on his mouth as he thought about that day, and when he caught Teddie's eye, he saw her grin too.
"Urgh, can we just get out of here?" Addison complained.
"Before you go," Teddie spoke, stopping Heckyl from activating the teleporter. They all saw her hand start to glow green, and the four backed away.
"What are you doing?" Monty asked nervously.
"Wiping your memories. Partly because we need to keep our identities secret," Teddie answered, and they all flinched, putting their hands to the heads. "And also because nobody should have had to go through what you went through," she said in a softer voice.
"How sweet!" Teddie looked around quickly, only to be blasted off her feet with a scream. She landed with a heavy thud nearby as Odius laughed.
"Teddie!"
"Get them out of here!" Teddie shouted as Heckyl went to move. He nodded, and hit the last button. The four, still clutching their heads, disappeared in a flash of yellow light, and Teddie got to her feet.
Odius had hit her right as she was using magic to erase their memories. She'd been worried that the spell hadn't taken, but the longer that time passed, the less it seemed that they remembered. After all, none of them came out with claims that they had been captured, or that they knew the identities of the Power Rangers. But something didn't seem entirely right, considering how tired Savannah looked.
"I guess," she finally murmured, her good mood soured as she thought about what had taken place on the Warrior Dome, before they'd defeated Galvanax and lost their powers. Brody's phone beeped suddenly, and he lifted his from his pocket.
"Guys, Redbot wants us back at the base," he told them quietly, and they all frowned. They hadn't been back since the summer holidays had started. "He says it's important," he added. The group got up, grabbing their bags, and headed out to the base in the back of the workshop.
"Oh...this isn't good!" Redbot was groaning when they arrived.
"What's so urgent?" Brody asked as they moved the fan to slip inside.
"I detected a spaceship on the long-range scanners," he told them, and they all looked a little less worried.
"Redbot, there are tons of ships going in and out from New Tech City," Daisy reminded him, a hand on her hip. He shook his head quickly.
"No! I checked, and there shouldn't be any at this time, nor at this location, if they're to land in New Tech," he told her. "Look!" He brought up footage from a satellite of a ship headed right for them. "Oh no...someone, or something is teleporting to our coordinates!" Redbot yelped.
"What?" Preston frowned, before a noise earned their attention. Purple lights sparked in the middle of their base, creating a static-like noise as they all prepared for trouble. To their surprise, Mick appeared from the lights, flailing a little and struggling to stay balanced.
"Mick!" they smiled as he looked up and broke into a wide grin.
"Hi, Ranger friends!" he greeted with a wave. They all ran in and hugged him tightly, telling him how much they'd missed him.
"It isn't the same around here without you," Brody told the man who had become his guardian on the Warrior Dome. "It's so good to see you back!" he exclaimed happily. He'd missed Mick a lot, when he'd gone back home to see his family.
"It's great to see you guys too!" Mick told them, before groaning as he stretched. "Man, I hate riding in space taxis," he complained, making them laugh.
"So, why the visit?" Brody asked, and Mick's smile faded.
"Unfortunately, this isn't a social call," he admitted. "I have terrible news. The hit intergalactic TV show, 'Galaxy Warriors', is back," Mick warned, taking them all by surprise.
"How?" Daisy demanded.
"We defeated Galvanax, and the Warrior Dome was smashed into by that asteroid," Teddie shook her head, confused.
"Not quite…" Mick lifted a white and red disk. "See for yourselves," he placed it on the desk, and activated it. A hologram of Odius appeared, under the banner reading 'Galaxy Warriors'.
"This is a season you'll never forget! Now get on with it," she growled to Cosmo.
"Madame Odius," Levi frowned, not soon about to forget the witch who'd tampered with his memories.
"She survived?"
"In today's episode, the search is on for the Ninja Nexus Prism!" Cosmo announced, and they all went pale. "Come on out, Smellephant!" they watched as a new contestant for the show appeared in the small image.
"My mighty trunk will find the Prism!" the alien resembling an elephant declared. "I can already smell it! Odius was right" he declared with a snort. "It's still on Earth!"
"Stay tuned, because soon we'll be arriving in the Milky Way galaxy!" Cosmo's laugh seemed to echo, even after Mick switched off the video.
"So much for a normal school year," Teddie muttered.
"She thinks the Prism still works…" Brody considered as he walked to the back of the base, opening the casing that revealed the damaged Prism. "That's why she wants it!" he looked up at the massive magical crystal, which was shattered in the middle.
"The asteroid...it had Ninja Steel in it," Hayley remembered the reason for it crashing into the ship in the first place. "What if she has it?" she asked the others. "With Ninja Steel and the Nexus Prism, she could make Power Stars," Hayley theorised. "But she doesn't know it's broken," she shook her head.
"So how do we fight here?" Sarah asked quietly, arms folded. "We don't have our Power Stars, so we can't Morph," she reminded them.
"Like that's ever held us back before," Teddie grinned, punching her fist to her open palm. "After all, we all fought in the first place without the power. And we've all got training," she told them confidently. Brody nodded his agreement.
"First, we need to hide the Prism, so that Odius can't find it," Levi told them.
"Or…" Brody grinned, an idea coming to mind. "We could use it as bait," he considered, wandering across the base.
"You mean, like a trap," Calvin caught on to what he meant.
"Exactly. And I know just where to hide it," Brody laughed.
"Oh, Rangers!" Redbot walked over with a case. "Looks like you'll be needing these," he opened it, revealing their communication devices they'd left with him after their Ninja Stars were destroyed.
"Our Ninja Comms!" Daisy smiled, having missed having hers. They'd all been repaired, seeming good as new, and everyone took theirs, returning them to their wrists.
"Alright, let's go," Brody nodded to his team.
The park was bustling after school, with people of all ages enjoying the last days of the summer before the cooler weather set in. However, none of them noticed the Ninjas hidden throughout the park, with Calvin and Teddie in a tree looking out for anything.
"There!" Calvin spotted the Buzzcam as it flew through the air.
"There's more. They're on their way," Teddie nodded as she saw more.
"We got Buzzcams," Calvin contacted the others, right before there was a flash of light. People screamed as they saw Odius, Smellephant, Badonna and Eidolon looking around.
"So, this is Earth?" Smellephant wondered, not bothered by the screams.
"Of course she's fine too," Teddie hissed as Eidolon looked around, bored already. Calvin put a hand to his leg, remembering the last time he'd gone up against her. While it was healed now, he remembered the pain without his suit to protect him.
"Find me the Prism, Smellephant!" Odius ordered, impatient.
"Yes, Madame," he nodded, and snorted loudly. "It's close! In that statue!" he pointed to a statue nearby, and Odius rushed towards it. "Who would hide the Prism in a statue?" Smellephant wondered as Preston peeked up from behind the paper he'd been pretending to read. He raised his dragon wand, and murmured a spell.
"What?" Odius gasped as a cage fell from above. "Nice try!" with a flick of her fan, she destroyed it.
"Dammit!" Teddie raised her hands, and vines burst from below the ground.
"Please," Eidolon rolled her eyes as Badonna yelped. She flicked her fingers, letting her power fly out and wilt the vines before they could touch them.
"Her magic is so strong," Preston gulped as the team regrouped quickly, knowing their cover was blown.
"Compared to your child's play? Of course it is!" with another flick of her fan, Odius conjured a new cage that appeared around the Rangers, trapping them.
"Well that's just not nice," Teddie complained.
"Ignore them, we have work to do," Odius turned back to the statue, using her magic to push it back and reveal the Prism inside.
"This isn't good," Preston muttered as she raised the Prism into the air.
"It's broken," Eidolon realised as she saw the shattered centre. What light had originally filled the Prism had long gone, leaving it completely lifeless.
"Interesting…" Odius murmured. "Then the Rangers don't have their powers!" she realised with a laugh. "Perfect! I'll just revive the Prism and turn it evil," she decided, to their horror. She flicked out the small hammer she held, and black magic began to flow from it.
"I feel sick…" Preston muttered as the air around them turned heavy.
"Me too," Teddie struggled to focus.
"We have to stop her," Daisy hissed as the Prism turned purple for a moment. The darkness then vanished, leaving the Prism as good as new. Odius laughed loudly at the sight.
"She repaired the Prism…" Hayley breathed, both in awe and horror. With the Prism back to its former glory, Odius was now free to use it as she wanted. The Rangers fought with the bars, trying to get free, but the magic had enhanced the bars, leaving them stuck.
"Yes! And now I'll make my own Power Stars, and be even more powerful than Galvanax ever was!" Odius declared loudly. "Time to show you something special, that I found on an asteroid," she laughed. Eidolon rolled her eyes, looking entirely disinterested as Badonna opened the bulky case in her arms. "Ninja Super Steel!" the team stared at the metal chunks in the cases, which sparkled with purple light.
"Ninja...Super Steel?" Calvin repeated, looking to the others. Both Preston and Teddie winced as Odius used her magic to insert the Super Steel into the Prism, which began to spin.
"She's using dark magic to make evil Power Stars…" Brody hissed, horrified. "We have to get out of here," he turned as best he could in the cramped cage to Preston and Teddie.
"Presto," Teddie fought off the nausea that the darkness in the air brought on. She offered her hand, managing a smile, and he nodded back.
"Together," he took her hand, and let the familiar rush of magic flood through him. Speaking together in the Mystic language, Teddie raised her hand as Preston held out the Dragon Wand. Their combined power caused the cage to vanish, and the team didn't waste any time.
"Huh?" Badonna gasped, turning quickly as Brody kicked her hard. She landed in a heap with Smellephant, dropping the case in her hands. "No! The Super Steel!" she screeched as the case burst open and the remaining metal rolled along the grass.
"Nice on guys, I've got it!" Hayley ran over and scooped up the Super Steel.
"Get your filthy human hands off that!" Odius shrieked, not moving as she tried to keep the spell going.
"Finally, something interesting," Eidolon rolled her eyes and let her hands light up with blue energy. However, vines burst up around her and she growled as they surrounded her.
"I can't keep her in here forever," Teddie warned, fighting back as Eidolon attacked her prison from the inside. "Preston, get the Super Steel out of here," she called. He nodded, raising his wand and focusing on the case that Hayley had repacked. It vanished in blue lights, causing Odius to scream in fury.
"You'll pay for that, Rangers!" Smellephant warned as he got back up with Badonna.
"I can still forget this piece of Super Steel," Odius snarled. "Keep those powerless Rangers back!" she ordered.
"Yes, Madam," Badonna nodded.
"We need to stop her from turning the Prism evil," Daisy muttered.
"Right. Let's do this!" Brody shouted. The fight broke out, as the vines finally exploded out, and Eidolon took a deep breath.
"An amusing attempt," she started, her dark eyes on Teddie as the girl glared at her. "But you know you can't beat me," Eidolon taunted, smirking confidently at her. It amused her that such a creature would try and challenge her. Just more opportunities to show that she was capable of so much more than she'd been allowed to show before.
"The only reason you won before was because you threatened to kill my brother," Teddie let her hands light up with golden energy. She then gave a mocking smile. "Or has the memory of you running scared from me been wiped from your mind?" she asked, and to her horror, Eidolon felt her face flush.
"I'm going to enjoy killing you," she vowed, letting her power crackle to life again. Something then slammed into her back, shoving her to the ground.
"Not gonna happen," Levi vowed, winking to Teddie as she smiled at him. Ignoring the pain humming under her skin, Eidolon rolled over and threw out her hand, forcing the singer to dive out of the way. Eidolon then let out a cry as vines wrapped around her wrists, tugging her back towards the ground as she tried to get back to her feet.
"Your tricks are entertaining, little girl, but that's all they are," Eidolon growled at Teddie. Nearby, the rest of the team were overwhelming Smellephant and Badonna with greater numbers and skill, as they put their training to good use.
"Sometimes tricks are all you need," Teddie replied softly, watching as Eidolon's power burned through her vines. Her mind was racing as she tried to stay one step ahead of Eidolon. Nearby, Brody leapt over Odius' head and kicked her away from the Prism. She screamed, her spell interrupted, and she dropped her hammer as she rolled along the dirt.
"You broke my spell!" she realised as the dark magic was expelled from the Prism. Badonna and Smellephant ran over to help Odius up, and Eidolon rolled her eyes, scoffing at Teddie and Levi as she stormed back towards the woman in charge. "This is a disaster!" she snarled.
"What's happening to the Steel?" Daisy wondered as orange light filled the repaired Prism. It hadn't stopped spinning; instead it seemed to be moving faster. Lights then exploded out, one after another, firing towards the Rangers who instinctively reached out to catch them. "Whoa!" Daisy gasped as the force nearly knocked her off her feet.
"Our Power Stars!" Sarah laughed as the light faded to reveal her Star. More lights then shot out for them to catch.
"And our Element Stars!" Preston smiled, and two more shot at Brody.
"Plus the Lion Fire Armour Star and Lion Fire Zord Star!" he exclaimed happily. "The Prism remade everything we need to beat Odius," he grinned.
"Feels good to have them back," Hayley smiled brightly.
"Now we have our Stars, and the Super Steel. There's no way you can beat us!" Brody shouted confidently to Odius, who growled.
"I got their Stars off them once, I'll do it again," Eidolon let her power flow again and took a step towards the team, but Odius stopped her.
"No. Smellephant!" she turned a snarl on the new challenger. "Do you want to be a Galaxy Warrior's Champion or not?! Destroy them! And bring me back those Stars!" Odius ordered. She, Badonna and Eidolon then vanished in a flash of light, leaving Smellephant to face the Rangers alone.
"Smells like it's finally time for your destruction!" he shouted, more confident than he felt.
"Funny," Levi chuckled, taking a step forward. "That's not what time it is at all," he smirked at the alien.
"It's Morphin' Time!" Brody shouted, calling on his Morpher. The others did the same, lifting their Power Stars. "Power Stars!"
"Lock in! Ready!"
"NINJA SPIN!" the team Morphed, drawing their weapons. "Ninja Rangers, fear no danger!" they chanted. Smellephant gave a shout, racing towards them. With enhanced capabilities, the Rangers dodged each of his attacks easily and sliced through his thick armour.
"Time to finish you!" Calvin shouted.
"Wrong!" Smellephant sneered, and they were blasted by the yellow beams that shot from his eyes. All but Brody were knocked flying, landing heavily a few feet away.
"Look out!" Preston shouted as Smellephant gave chase.
"We aren't scared of you," Daisy warned him as he laughed.
"Hey Rangers!" Brody caught up to them. "Let's show this monster why they always lose," he told them, and turned to Smellephant. "It's because we fight together. As a team!"
"Yeah!"
"Ninja Spin!" Brody used the Lion Fire Star, calling on his battiliser.
"Fancy armour won't stop me!" Smellephant shouted, unimpressed by them.
"Ninja Blaster, Whiplash!"
"Ninja Star Morph!"
"Ninja Spin! Earth Hammer Strike!"
"Lion Fire Flame Strike!" Smellephant screamed as he was bombarded by each move that slammed into him, and exploded.
"It's nice to have our powers back!" Brody laughed.
"You said it," Hayley agreed as they high-fived.
"I feel stronger than ever!" Preston cheered, looking down at his gloved hands. They had only been without their Ranger powers for a few weeks, but the surge in strength was a rush.
"I think we might be," Teddie considered, but before they could ask what she was thinking, Smellephant reappeared, growing much larger.
"He's a big one...let's fight fire with fire!" Calvin suggested.
"Good idea Calvin," Brody nodded. "I have just the Megazord for that," he raised another Power Star. "Lion Fire Zord Star, lock in! Ninja Spin!" he shouted, summoning the powerful Zord that Viera had gifted him. "Lion Fire Megazord, energise!" Smellephant shrieked in alarm as it appeared, changing to its Megazord form.
"I'll freeze you with my eye beams!" the yellow beams shot from his glowing eyes, but the Megazord turned, causing the burning lights to bounce off a shield and shoot back towards Smellephant. "Ah! The Zord froze me!" he screamed as he went rigid, unable to move.
"Now it's my turn," Brody called, moving his Megazord forwards and cutting across the monster with the shuriken it carried. "It's over for you. Lion Fire Slash! Final Attack!" the Megazord changed forms again and raced forwards, slashing through Smellephant and finishing him off.
"All I can smell is defeat!" he wailed, before exploding.
"Show's over! Ninjas win!"
Eidolon cursed as they watched Smellephant lose to Brody.
"How could this happen?" Badonna groaned.
"Bah! Turn it off!" Odius roared angrily at the Kudabots, who quickly did as she ordered.
"This is exactly why you should have let me handle the Rangers," Eidolon turned to her. Odius' glowing eyes focused on Eidolon, and she didn't speak for a moment.
"You think you could stand up to all eight Rangers?" she sneered. Eidolon's fists clenched at the doubt in Odius' voice. "You succeeded before by splitting them up and stealing their Power Stars while they were distracted," she reminded Eidolon, whose anger grew. "You have power, yes, but I have better plans for you. Patience," Odius then turned back to Badonna, clearly dismissing Eidolon.
"Patience?" Eidolon repeated, and Odius sighed. "You told me to have patience when dealing with Galvanax. Now we're no closer to the Prism, the Super Steel is in the grasp of those pathetic heroes, and I am no closer to-"
"Tell me. Why do you want to restore your planet?" Odius cut her off as Eidolon's words grew more heated. She paused, a little surprised at the question. "You aren't the sort to be doing it for noble reasons. You don't want your world back because you miss it. You have another motive," Odius still wasn't looking at her, and Badonna fanned herself as she listened eagerly. Eidolon took a deep breath, staring at the woman. As her anger faded, she remembered why she was still there. Odius was powerful, she'd proven that. And cunning. She was her best chance.
"I…" Eidolon stopped, berating how soft her voice was. "I'm going to prove that I was right. That we are powerful. With the arsenal collected on Sentai 6, the universe would be easy to rule," she lifted her chin. "Easy for me to rule," the woman declared, and Odius finally looked at her.
"Then surely having that power back will be worth the wait," she told her. "Patience. I already have another plan in mind, one that will tear the Rangers apart from the inside," the fox-faced witch started to laugh, and Eidolon's eyes widened.
"That...of course," she breathed, and her fury melted away. "As you wish," she agreed.
"And a one...and a two...and lift!" Mick shouted, and the Rangers groaned as they worked together to lift the Prism up. Made of solid crystal, it was heavy, and took all of them to move it. "That's it! Perfecto!" Mick laughed. They all stepped back once they were sure it was balanced, and froze.
"Uh...what is that?" Calvin asked slowly. With the fight taking place immediately after they'd received their Stars again, and then the rush to get the repaired Prism to safety, they hadn't taken a proper look.
"Is that a…"
"A new Power Star," Daisy finished for Teddie, all of them stunned as they saw the Silver Power Star shimmering inside the Prism.
"There must have been some Super Steel left over from the chunk Odius used," Mick considered as he peered closely at it.
"Then we have a new Ranger to find," Teddie ran a hand through her hair. "Good thing too, Odius is going to be tough," she reminded the team, who nodded.
"Not forgetting Eidolon," Hayley murmured.
"It's okay, cause the Rangers are back in business," Brody grinned to the team.
"At least until we deal with them," Sarah commented.
"How about you, Mick?" Hayley asked their mentor. "Are you still going back to the Lion Galaxy?" she asked the question that had been on all their minds. His eyes widened, and he fell into thought about it. "I mean, we'd understand," the White Ranger tried to sound upbeat as he nodded.
"No!" he exclaimed with a laugh. "Come on. The Rangers without Mick?" he demanded, making them all laugh.
"Good, cause let's face it, we'd fall apart without you," Daisy told him. Mick's smile grew wider as the rest of the team agreed.
"I'm with you, Rangers. As long as it takes," Mick told them confidently.
"It's wonderful to have the whole team back together again!" Redbot exclaimed as he walked over.
"Well, we're missing one person," Sarah considered, looking at Teddie with a grin.
"Good thing I dragged him here," they looked around quickly as Minos spoke up. He clapped Heckyl on the shoulder, and earned a glare as he rubbed where it stung. "Next time, tell us that there's trouble? Or you know, answer your phone when your big brother who generally knows when a monster attack happens calls?" Minos told Teddie, who cursed and dove for her abandoned bag.
"Oops…" she muttered when she saw multiple calls from Spencer.
"Oops is right. If I hear one more threat about a dragon, I might flee the planet," Heckyl told her lightly, and she rolled her eyes at him.
"Well, now we're back to action," Brody spoke up, eyes on the Silver Power Star locked safely inside of the Prism. "We better get training," he declared, turning to the team as they groaned.
"And hey, don't be forgetting about your homework," Levi said cheerfully, earning more groans.
"Anyone for dumping them in the river?" Daisy grumbled, earning laughter from the brothers as the rest of the team agreed with their Black Ranger.
I hope you liked it!
