I've noticed that there are several thoughts about Blake being tempted to give info on Ragna and Jin. So allow me to clear up a few things.
The reason Blake was tempted to give up information on Ragna was because of what happened when he went berserk. All of Remnant was watching and because of the known racism against the Faunus. The Humans believed that because the Faunus are part animal. They have a relation to the Black Beast and are therefore attacking the Faunus. The way Corsac and Fennec explained the situation made things worse and as a result Blake suspected that if Ragna was turned in, it might help prove the Faunus had nothing to do with what happened.
What made her not say anything is because Ragna has always done good by the Faunus and he even stood by and helped her when she was revealed as a Faunus. Going against Ragna would have been the ultimate betrayal since it would be the same thing that many racist humans have done to the Faunus.
As for Jin, Blake and Jin did not start things off on the best of terms. Because of Jin's harsh nature and his major criticisms against the White Fang. But over time, Blake has seen that despite Jin's harsh nature, he isn't racist towards the Faunus and over time saw that a lot of Jin has a point about the White Fang's actions and realized that Blake has to do something different other than run away.
Helping things further is that the brothers have saved her life on separate occasions and despite being tempted. She knew that revealing information would be a major betrayal and it would do more harm than good.
During the party Weiss understood Ragna's anger at the nobles and is seeing the point Ragna has made about those in power. Blake understanding Jin's points is making progress but its taking a bit more time than expected. At the very least, she's not smacking and Yelling at Sun as often as she did during RWBY canon Volume 4.
As for how Nu knew that Ragna was in danger. It was because of the life link they have which has been confirmed they have in a previous chapter.
For everyone's thoughts I've received on Volume 8. I see that most of you all agree on certain decisions in canon. I don't want to give away too much, but it makes me excited for my plans to divert from RWBY canon. Due to the surprises I have in store.
Throughout the Volume 4 portion of this story, I wanted to show the effects of Beast-Ragna's rampage during the tournament in which he killed a lot of people and showed the world that the Black Beast is still technically alive.
Chapter 69 Black and White
(The Schnee Estate)
It took Weiss a great deal of time, planning and patience, for her to go through with what she's doing at this very moment. Thanks to her father making his plans for Whitley clear, Weiss realized that she can no longer stay in Atlus and decided to set things in motion to take control of her life. One of the things she's done is to improve on her skills with her semblance. Over time, she has made great improvements on the use of her semblance. Even her ability to create her summonings has made great improvements since her initial attempts at it.
Getting stronger was only the first part of her plan to escape. Being able to get out of the Manor was another essential part of the plan. Fortunately, she was able to get help from the only individual she could trust in that Manor. After making sure that she has all the money and dust in her briefcase. Along with her trusted sword, she proceeded to make her way towards her intended destination. As she was going down the hallway, she heard some voices and as she went further, she realized that the voices are her father and the General. Before she realized it, Weiss found herself listening in on their conversation.
"I know this seems drastic, but you need to understand that this is what's best for Atlus." The General told Jacques
"Best thing for Atlus, this is the most drastic thing you've done since the dust embargo." Jacques responded to the General
"Given the threats that are out there in Remnant, I would say that this is far from drastic. The Head of the Yayoi family agrees with my plans." General Ironwood told Jacques
"I'm not surprised, but I can assure you that the head of the Kisaragi Household along with Hōichirō and myself. Will disagree with your drastic plans for Atlus. Your letting your fear control your sense of judgement." Jacques told the General
"WITH GOOD REASON!" General Ironwood told Jacques before he took a few quick breaths
"You need to calm yourself James. As you've reminded us repeatedly, you hold two seats on the Atlus Council. So maintaining a level head is required for the sake of Atlus." Jacques responded
"If only you know the threats that are out there. You would not only agree with my plans, but also encourage them. I can't allow what happened to Vale happen to Atlus. Until I have a clear idea of everything we're up against. I am prepared to take as many precautions as I can. Winter is dealing with a lead in Mistral and with the limited intel I have. I have to make do with what I have." General Ironwood told Jacques
"Well what about the Beast of Remnant? In case you've forgotten we don't know for certain where the beast is and the only individual that can fight him is far from Atlus." Jacques told General Ironwood
"There is still too much that we don't know regarding Ragna. So I think its careless for everyone to consider him a threat much less the Black Beast reborn. But I do understand that he can't be ignored, but I'm already looking into that." General Ironwood said as he made his way to the door
As Weiss listened in, she noticed the footsteps and realized that the General was coming. Reacting quickly, Weiss proceeded to us her glyph to keep the door shut and prevented the door from being opened. After she used her glyph, Weiss proceeded to run down the hall further. While hearing some banging on the door knowing that its likely the General himself.
(The Schnee Library)
Weiss was able to quickly make it to the library and was able to avoid being spotted by anyone. She waited patiently and quietly for the one who will help her escape the Manor. As she was waiting she felt a touch on her shoulder and when she turned, she saw that it was the family butler Klein.
"I told you I would come didn't I. Now calm down and let's get on with this." Grumpy Klein said as he was opening the secret passage that's behind the bookcase. After the passage opened up, Klein sneezed and his eyes changed colors.
"What do you plan on doing now young Miss" Klein asked in a worried tone
"I think there's a chance that Winter is still in the Kingdom of Mistral. I know it's a long shot but its my best chance of seeing her. I want to do some real good for Remnant but I can't do it under my father's thumb." Weiss told Klein
"Young Miss, I know that its unlikely. But with everything I've heard about the infamous individual Ragna. What would you do in the unlikely event that you cross his path?" Klein asked in a worried tone causing Weiss to think for a second before she answered
"I knew Ragna before all of Remnant and the media started calling him the Beast of Remnant. When Beacon fell, Ragna did something terrible to my friend and teammate Yang. He hurt her and he fought me and Yang. I even learned he did something terrible to Jin. For several months I've hated him, but recently I started to think about a few things." Weiss told Klein before she continued talking
"Since I met Ragna in Beacon, me and him never saw eye to eye. But ever since the fundraiser. I'm starting to realized that my attitude towards him is no different than the stuck-up attitude the Atlus nobles have. I never once tried to get his side of things and when it comes to him. My attitude is no different then what I used to have towards the Faunus. I doubt he'll have a good excuse for the things he's done. But I want to at least hear what he has to say, before I can decide on what to do with him." Weiss told her trusted Butler
"KLEIN, GET IN HERE!" Jacques yelled after the two heard the door bust open
"Once you leave, you won't have any family here. Winter will be the only family you have left." Klein said in a concerned tone
"That's not true, I'll still have you." Weiss said before she gave him a hug and left through the secret passage.
(The Mountain Cliffs)
When team RBAL encountered Hakumen, they all knew that he was immensely strong if the story of the Six Heroes is anything to go by. Hakumen was able to quickly deal with each of them with little effort. Though when he fought Ragna. Hakumen had put in more of an effort into fighting him. The group believed that if anyone could have a chance at holding his own against the White Void, it would be Ragna. Yet a few moments after a brief yet intense battle. Hakumen was not only able to best Ragna, he also stabbed him. the ones watching were shocked at the display of both power and ruthlessness.
"Wake up, come on Ragna, you've gotta wake up." Jaune said to a downed Ragna in a pleading tone before mustering the strength to go and help him with his semblance. Before Jaune could get any closer to Ragna. Hakumen stood in his way and blocked his path.
"I know what your semblance is, I cannot allow you to aid the beast any further before his life fades." Hakumen told Jaune before Lambda leaped towards Hakumen and tried to attack him.
"Why are you determined to kill Ragna? I know he has a dangerous power. But that's still no reason to kill him. Especially since all of us are going after the real threats." Jaune told Hakumen
"None of you know the full extent of the danger that the Beast will bring to the world. I know of the ones who threaten the world. Yet the threat that is the beast cannot be ignored. Therefore the beast must die." Hakumen said before he pushed Jaune away. After pushing Jaune away. He used his other hand to block Lambda's sword attacks. After blocking Lambda's sword attack, Hakumen tightened his grip on her sword and proceeded to throw her to the ground. After doing so, Hakumen stood over Lambda and gave her a silent glare.
"I know you are from the Murakumo labs. It is not within my nature to kill children, especially those who have been deprived of their lives only to live and exist as a weapon. But understand that if I will do what must be done. Consider my restraint and statement a warning." Hakumen said before he made a motion to walk away. Before he went too far, Hakumen quickly turned and made a motion to stab Ragna's downed body. Before the blade could reach him. Ragna was able to muster a good deal of strength and block Hakumen's attack. Everyone who saw this is relieved that Ragna is still alive. But they were also worried because they saw that his aura was flickering and severely injured.
"I see that it will require more strength to ensure your death Beast." Hakumen told Ragna while the two clashed swords against each other. Though a brief second later, they all heard Ragna chuckle while holding his ground against Hakumen
"You know, I admit that I don't know a damn thing about this power that made me world enemy number one. I also admit that in a way, you and that bitch Winter has made several good points about me. That it is too dangerous for me to go out into the world. Knowing that there is a real chance that I could go berserk again. But to be completely honest, being hated and feared by the world. Is something that I honestly couldn't give a damn about. But protecting the things in the world that matters to me, THAT'S WHAT'S IMPORTANT TO ME YOU MASKED FREAK!" Ragna yelled before he gathered a good deal of strength and managed to push back Hakumen. After pushing back Hakumen, Ragna continued to speak further
"There are too many people in the world that are suffering because of those that have power and like to either abuse it or just don't give a damn. So if I see anyone suffering before me, I will most certainly do what I have to do and I won't live with myself otherwise. So if the world wants to hate me, then let them hate me. If the people want me dead, then let them wish for my death. But if you think I'm going to stand by and do nothing and allow people to suffer in front of me. Then you don't know a damn thing about me!" Ragna stated before he started to radiate his energy and spoke the words that is coming natural to him
"RESTRICTION RELEASE V2 BLOODEDGE!" Ragna yelled before he released a powerful burst of powerful and caused the ground to tremble which frightened everyone except Hakumen
"Something else you should know, there are only five people I've met in my life that can fight me when I'm not holding back. So you can guess that its not often that I can fight without holding back. Safe to say, you're the sixth person I'm not holding back against. So since you've come to kill me, let's see you try you masked freak!" Ragna yelled before taking up a stance
"Then come and fight with the strength of your resolve Beast!" Hakumen responded as he took up a stance as well
A brief second later, both Ragna and Hakumen charged towards each other at a blinding speed and shortly after that. The both of them clashed swords against each other. Once their blades have clashed, a large and powerful burst of energy was released and it was felt by everyone. The rest of team RBAL felt the surge of power and the area started to have several cracks. It is clear that this is a now a fight between two exceptionally powerful individuals.
(The Airship)
After spending several months traveling on foot. Team RNJR along with Qrow are very much relieved to be able to reach their destination on the airship instead of having to continue traveling on foot. During their time on the airship, everyone continued to bask in this moment of peace that they've earned since they don't have to worry about the Grimm at the moment. Though as everyone was resting, the airship shook and the pilot almost lost control. The shake was felt by everyone and when they looked outside to see what was going on. They all saw a large explosion of energy and realized it's the reason the airship shook the way it did.
"What do you think that is?" Ruby asked Qrow in a curious and concerned tone
"I don't know, but if my hunch and common sense is right. I doubt its anything good." Qrow said before the onboard medic spoke up
"There is an outpost near that mountain. We've received a distress signal a few days ago but when we arrived it was deserted." The Medic said causing Ruby to speak up
"There's a chance some people might have come back and are in trouble. I know its dangerous but we have to go and help." Ruby quickly told the Medic
"We don't know what's there, for all we know it could be a super-powered Grimm or worse. The Beast of Remnant himself could be there and if he is there. Then none of us would stand a real chance against him." The Medic said in a concerned tone
"Then you have nothing to worry about, thanks to the treatment you guys gave us. All of us are in top condition and we have the Hero of Vale with us." Qrow said which got more of the Medic's attention
"The Hero of Vale, the one who saved Vale and managed to fight and subdue the Beast of Remnant?" The Medic asked in an impressed tone before turning her sights on Jin and realized its him
"Oh my, it really is you isn't it." The Medic said in an impressed tone
"That's right, so whatever we come across. We'll be able to protect all of you and as long as you keep the engines running. Then we can escape if things gets too dicey, don't we owe it to the people that's in danger to at least try?" Qrow told the Medic causing her to think for a moment before making a decision
"I'll tell the pilot to get us there. But the moment things become too dangerous. We're getting out of there." The Medic said before she went to the Pilot to tell him the new flight direction
"Do you think Ragna will be there uncle Qrow?" Ruby asked getting everyone's attention
"I don't know, but we need to be ready for anything." Qrow told Ruby
"Brother." Jin muttered in a low tone as they were getting to their destination
(The Mountain Side)
Ever since Ragna released his full power after getting a second wind. He started to hold his own against Hakumen and fought much better than he initially did. Ragna was able to parry a good number of Hakumen's attacks and everytime he noticed an opening, Ragna would make an attempt to attack.
Seeing the attacks coming, Hakumen would either block or avoid Ragna's sword attacks. After avoiding Ragna's attacks, Hakumen would increase his aggressive attacks and would maintain the attack pressure to prevent Ragna from trying any counterattacks. After maintaining the attack pressure, Hakumen proceeded to try to stab Ragna again but this time at a more intense speed.
Not wanting to be injured the same way twice. Ragna instinctively used his sword to block Hakumen's stab attack. After the stab was blocked, Ragna was the first to act and proceeded to attack Hakumen at an intense speed. This time, it was Hakumen who was on the defensive and despite blocking Ragna's attacks. The White Void was still able to hold his ground and didn't move from where he was. After blocking more of Ragna's attacks, Hakumen used a good deal of his strength and managed to push back Ragna by a good distance. After Ragna was pushed back, Hakumen started to gather energy to his sword.
"Empty sky true form: Judgement of the sword!" Hakumen yelled before more energy gathered to the sword and he swung his sword towards Ragna.
Once Hakumen swung his sword, a stream of energy was released towards Ragna. Knowing that the attack was dangerous, Ragna swung his sword and sent two dark energy streams at Hakumen. After sending the energy streams, Ragna followed up by blasting at Hakumen with the gun function of his sword. Hakumen's attack stream was able to match Ragna's dual energy streams and the two attacks cancelled each other out. Though after they were cancelled out, the gun blast Ragna made proceeded to reach Hakumen.
The moment the blast got close, Hakumen used his fist to destroy the gun blast. But this gave Ragna the chance to get closer and deliver a strong sword attack against Hakumen. The sword attack landed and knocked Hakumen back. But he was able to recover and made a move to counterattack against Ragna.
Seeing Hakumen making a move to attack. Ragna made a move to attack him while the two were close to each other. Realizing Ragna's plan, Hakumen proceeded to swing his sword at Ragna while he did the same. A brief second later, both Hakumen's and Ragna's respective swords clashed against each other. The second the swords have clashed, a powerful shockwave soon followed. The powerful shockwave was felt by everyone nearby and the area started to have more cracks on the grough and the nearby walls.
Once the shockwave ended, both Hakumen and Ragna jumped away from each other and Hakumen proceeded resume his aggressive attacks. Ragna proceeded to block and deflect each of Hakumen's attacks. This time though, Ragna is having a much easier dealing with Hakumen's attacks. Despite the gap in power and skill between the two. Which is something that didn't take long for Ragna to notice.
"I don't know how, but it's like I instinctively know his fighting style. This sense of familiarity is probably what's giving me a fighting chance against this masked freak." Ragna thought to himself as he was fighting against Hakumen
It didn't take long for Hakumen to figure out that Ragna adapted to his fighting style and quickly figured out the reason why. The moment Hakumen realized this, he started to throw several punches and kicks which admittedly caught Ragna off guard and he was hit by the punches and kicks. After hitting Ragna with the punches and kicks, Hakumen jumped into the air with his sword in hand and started to spin towards Ragna. Reacting quickly Ragna proceeded to block Hakumen's air spin attack with his sword. Unfortunately, Ragna wasn't strong enough to block the entirety of the attack and his defense was eventually broken through. Which allowed Hakumen to land the rest of his sword spin attack. After getting hit with the attack, Ragna was knocked back further but his aura started to flicker and his sword started to glow red and black much slower than before. Indicating that Ragna's power boost is starting to wear off.
"This has to end soon, or else I'll really be at the mercy of this masked freak." Ragna muttered before he started to gather as much energy as he can for one final attack
"You are at your limit beast, now is the time for you to die." Hakumen said as he gathered his own energy and after doing so. The both of them charged towards each other with a great deal of strength behind their attack. As Ragna was running, he sword was enveloped in a dark crimson energy. While Hakumen's sword is enveloped in a silver light, that felt calming and powerful. The moment the both of them got close to each other. The both of them swung their blades and a powerful shockwave soon occurred that was followed by a blinding light that blinded everyone.
Several seconds later, the blinding light dissipated and the rest of the group saw that a single individual was standing. When all of them looked to see who the figure was, it was clear that the person is Hakumen and Ragna is nowhere in sight. When the group saw this, they each shared a look of worry and fear at what happened to Ragna. Once the tense moment has passed, Hakumen withdrew his sword and calmly turned towards the group. The group were prepared to fight against the White Void. Despite knowing that they will be easily decimated.
"It is clear that you are all concerned for the Beast. Do not fret, despite what you see before you, it will take more than that to truly kill the beast. Though I do not know how much he clings to life. I am certain that the Beast still lives. If I am to cross his pasth, I will not hesitate to kill him." Hakumen stated to the group
"Are you going to kill us too?" Bullet asked while on guard
"Because you are no longer defending the beast. I have no quarrel with any of you. Another day, I will not hesitate to protect any of you. But if you will stand in the way of me bringing death to the Beast. Then I will not hesitate to strike any of you down." Hakumen stated to Bullet and by extension to the group themselves
"Master Hakumen, I admit that Ragna has an odd power. But surely there are other ways to deal with this aside from killing him." Bang said
"None of you knows the full extent of the Beast's destructive power. If any of you saw what the Black Beast is truly capable of, then you will not be quick to defend him as you have. Instead, you will see that the sooner he is destroyed, the better it will be for the world." Hakumen said before they all noticed an airship flying towards them
"It appears that more individuals will come soon enough. I must leave and pursue the threats to this world." Hakumen said before he started to walk away.
"WAIT!" Jaune yelled to Hakumen and getting his attention before he went too far.
"I know that this question is odd for you. But the thing is, you remind me of my friend in a lot of ways, his name is Jin Kisaragi. So I have to ask, are you related to Jin?" Jaune asked causing Hakumen to turn his head towards Jaune. Despite the mask not having a face, Jaune could feel a focused look from him.
"In a manner of speaking, I am." Hakumen said before he jumped down from the mountain cliff before the airship arrived. After the airship landed, the group was on guard for anyone who would come out. Once the doors opened up, the group was surprised as they were relieved. Because the ones who came out of the airship were Nora, Ren, and Ruby.
"JAUNE!" Nora excitedly yelled before she leaped towards her team leader while Ren followed her with less of the energy. Once Nora got to Jaune, she gave him a huge hug and smiled at team JNPR being reunited despite the loss of their beloved member.
"Bang, Bullet!" Ruby yelled as she ran out and gave the two a hug happy to see her friends again after so long. Once Ruby greeted them, Nora noticed Lambda and gave Jaune a questioned look.
"Who is she, she reminds me of Nu?" Nora asked causing everyone to look at the mysterious girl
"Her name is Lambda, as for why she's with us. To be honest, we don't really know either. The only thing we know for certain is that Lord Tenjo vouched for her." Jaune answered before he noticed someone stepping out of the airship. When Jaune looked, he saw that it was Jin and the both of them made eye contact. Once they saw each other, Jaune started to approach Jin slightly nervously.
"Jin, you helped my teammates, words can't describe how thankful I am for protecting my friends." Jaune said in a grateful tone to Jin
"As I said Jaune, if its within my capabilities I'll protect anyone." Jin said before Jaune quickly looked him over
"You know, your light armor makes you look similar to Hakumen." Jaune said causing Jin to speak up.
"Everyone else has been saying that, is it true that Ragna was here?" Jin asked in a curious tone
"Yeah, but he's gone after all of us fought Hakumen." Jaune answered causing Ruby to speak up
"That really was Hakumen here?" Ruby asked Jaune after hearing what he said
"Yeah you see . . . . . ." Jaune said before Qrow leaned out of the airship
"We can exchange notes later, we need to go before we deal with more surprises." Qrow yelled to the group
"Uncle Qrow is right let's get to the airship. Where are you all going?" Ruby asked
"We were making our way to Haven Academy." Bang answered causing Ruby to have a relieved look
"That's where we're going, lets get on everyone. It looks like we have a lot to talk about during our trip. It looks like all roads lead to Haven." Ruby said as everyone started to get on the airship.
"How are you related to Jin?" Jaune thought to himself before he got on the airship and they all started to go to their destination
(?)
After Nu felt a great deal of pain, she fell unconscious and she was placed in a room where she could get some rest. While Nu was resting, Salem found herself watching over the tormented girl before she fully realized it. Why Salem watched over Nu is something she herself doesn't fully understand. Part of it could stem from her wanting to make sure she doesn't lose a valuable asset. Yet Salem watching over Nu could also come from a motherly instinct that feels so familiar yet also lost from a long time ago. As Salem was watching over Nu, the young girl was able to muster the strength to wake up. When she did, Nu had a small smile on her face.
"He'll live, my Ragna will live. He won't die, because he belongs to me and he's mine to kill." Nu said in a small satisfied tone
"Yes Nu, you will have Ragna soon enough." Salem said before she started to leave the room. As Salem was walking own the hallway, Cinder stood before her along with both Emerald and Mercury.
"Your grace." Cinder said as she kneeled with her voice much less raspy than before
"Cinder, I see that your recovery is making remarkable progress. Is there something you need?" Salem asked while looking over Cinder
"Ma'am, I understand that for you to claim the Black Beast. Something Terumi has promised you. It is required that you have both Ragna and Nu. But from what happened earlier, I think that there is a connection between the both of them. A connection that I suspect Terumi hasn't told us about. Furthermore . . . . ." Cinder said before Salem spoke up and cut her off
"Save me your sales pitch Cinder, tell me what it is you want." Salem said in a commanding tone which intimidated Mercury and Emerald
"Nu felt it when Ragna was in danger earlier, which leads me to believe that pat of the connection they share is their lives. I know its extremely risky to test my theory, but I think that if we kill Nu, we can kill Ragna." Cinder told Salem
"Interesting theory, but I fail to see how killing her can benefit my plans. If anything, it'll cause a major setback that can cause a lot of problems. The loss of the Black Beast is something I cannot risk." Salem explained to Cinder
"But your grace, Ragna has proved to be a major threat to us and is likely getting stronger. If we leave this alone for too long, then Ragna can stand to be an even bigger threat than Ozpin." Cinder said in a pleading tone to Salem
"Then let's humor your little theory shall we. If for some reason I do agree to your suggestion to kill Nu which will in turn kill Ragna. We will lose Nu, which means half of the Black Beast's power will be lost to us. Even if Terumi knows of a way to track down the ones who has half of the Black Beast's power. There is no guarantee that the ones who hold the Black Beast's power will be as cooperative as Nu. So it will save us a lot of trouble if we continue to keep Nu alive." Salem stated to Cinder
"But your grace, we both know that the girl is mentally unstable. We can just . . . ." Cinder said before several hands came from the ground and started to reach towards Cinder
"I do not find any joy or pleasure in repeating myself Cinder, but I will say this one last time so you can understand. Nu is not to be harmed, if any harm comes to her while she is here. I will know that it was you and respond accordingly, do I make myself clear?" Salem stated with a lot of focus on her words and warning
"Yes your grace, forgive me for stepping out of my bounds." Cinder said as she kneeled once again.
"You are forgiven, though I appreciate your ambition and understand your desire for revenge. Do not allow your rage to blind you to possibilities. Especially to those that can help you deal with our current problems." Salem advised before she started to leave the hallway
"Is there anything you need us to do Cinder?" Emerald asked in a concerned tone
"Leave, until you are needed." Cinder said to the both of them causing them to leave and go off on their business. Once Cinder was alone, she went to the room that Nu is resting in and stood outside the room. Once Cinder was outside the room, she started to speak in a low tone
"Consider you and your brother lucky Nu. It's clear that I'm forbidden from killing you. But make no mistake that if a chance for me to kill Ragna presents itself. I will not hesitate to make his body a charred corpse. If you have a problem with it, then too bad. It's a cruel world after all, a fact that you know all too well. If those labs you spent your life in is anything to go by." Cinder said before her eye radiated energy before she walked away
(Café within Vale)
After Amane spent the majority of the day helping the people of Vale and taking on volunteer missions for the relief effort. He decided to finally get some much needed rest and relax as much as he can. Once Amane found a café he decided to enjoy some small cakes and tea. Once he was fully settled, Amane realized that it was night time and found himself looking at the shattered moon. As he was looking, Amane caught a whiff of rose pedals and decided to speak up.
"There is something quite elegant about drinking tea in the moonlight. I see why you do it as often as you do Rachel." Amane said causing Rachel to come into view and started to sit down on the nearby chair
"Indeed, a calming atmosphere can sooth the most troubled minds and give me a chance to think about many things. Though the tea pales in comparison to whatever Valkenhayn makes on his worst day. I must commend your willingness to give them a chance." Rachel told Amane
"We need a calming atmosphere, given everything that's happened recently. Do you think its possible that we can bend the rules even further to help the people of this world? I've made some friends and I would very much like to do more to help them." Amane told Rachel causing her to take a quick breath
"You know as well as I do the conditions of us to interact with this world. For us to do so, a vast majority of our abilities have been greatly restricted. Though my role allows me to do more. I'm afraid I can't do more than I am allowed. The restrictions also applied to you as well. I hope that you do not forget that." Rachel explained to Amane
"Well it was worth asking at least. So what do you think Salem plans to do now?" Amane asked in a worried tone
"I am not sure, but with both Terumi and Relius working with her. I cannot accurately predict their actions. Salem is already a problem, but Terumi stands to be an even bigger problem and threat. But I'm afraid that Terumi is working for an even greater threat. I do not know who it is. But I'm afraid that no matter the identity, it doesn't bode well for any of us. At this point we have to hope that the ones who will fight the threats will not make the moronic decisions I've come to expect. Like that mannerless brute who carelessly uses his power with no degree of skill." Rachel explained causing Amane to nod in a disapproving way
"Don't you think your being a little too harsh on people. I know that your position causes you to have a specific opinion on people. But don't you think that your judgmental attitude can creates more enemies. I've seen this pattern in the other possibilities when you talk with people. Yet over time, they played a role in helping the world." Amane explained to Rachel
"If they cannot handle my harsh words then they cannot handle the threats they wish to face. Though I do admit that I have been raised to not judge the worth of others so harshly. So I will keep your advice in mind." Rachel told Amane
"That is all I ask, but I do wonder that if Ragna was in danger. Why didn't you lend him a helping hand?" Amane asked
"That brute cannot rely on external help all the time. If he cannot develop the skills to survive and believes that help will come to him every time. Then he will not grow and his potential will be limited despite how lacking it is." Rachel explained her point
"Sink or swim training I supposed, well he is a strong dancer and I believe that he'll survive. I just hope that he's influenced by good people." Amane told Rachel
"There is something else on your mind, I can clearly see it on your face." Rachel told Amane
"During the tournament, I fought someone name I-No and she made a very interesting comment about what I really am. Do you know who she is?" Amane asked
"I heard that vulgar woman's comment as well. I tried to use my abilities to look into who she really is. But there was a power that blocked my attempts. The only thing I know for sure is that she is capable of using magic. Though she is quite comparable to Nine if she was able to block my sights. Whether or not she is affiliated to Terumi is something I do not know. But I would advise that you stay cautious of her. I suspect that she is much more dangerous than she looks." Rachel explained to Amane
"I see, well despite the circumstances. Your visit has been rather lovely Rachel. Are you sure you don't want any of the tea or cakes?" Amane asked in a kind tone
"No need, Valkenhayn will have tea ready upon my return and it is quite frankly worth more of my time. Though I must ask, when do you plan on reuniting with the friends you've made?" Rachel asked
"Soon enough, I'll leave once everything is stable enough for me to leave." Amane answered causing Rachel to stand up. Though before she left, she spoke further
"Do not be too discouraged at my absence. Because there is another individual that will want to spend time with you. I suspect your already familiar with her." Rachel told Amane
"Yeah, I know she's there too. Just as I know that she's ben watching and listening in. Until next time my dear." Amane said before Rachel left. A brief moment after Rachel left, Amane swiftly moved his hand and was able to stop an energy attack that was directed towards him.
"Professor Goodwitch, if you wanted to join me for tea. You could have asked, instead of trying to invoke a dance with me." Amane said in a clam tone before Glynda spoke with subtle anger
"I heard everything you've said to your friend. With everything going on I'm not taking any chances. Now tell me Amane, what is going on and what are you?" Professor Goodwitch said while pointing her crop at him
"Calm down Professor, my secrets has no effect on the things that are going on at the moment. Your secrets on the other hand does leave a few things to be desired. Like for example Ozpin's severely misguided favoritism towards team RWBY and their predecessors team STRQ. Or your questions about possible ways to fight Salem." Amane stated which surprised Glynda before she radiated her energy. Before she had a chance to do anything further. Amane appeared in front of her and surprised her
"Since your looking for answers . . . . ." Amane said in a menacing tone which made Glynda nervous
"Then I'll tell you, just join me for tea and cakes. You've ben working hard and you deserve a chance to relax." Amane said causing him to get a glare from the Professor
"Now don't look at me like that, I know I went too far playing with you like that but you can relax. I'm not going to hurt you, in fact I really will give you answers. A much answers I can give you at least." Amane said as he sat back down and drink some more tea before Glynda did the same. Once she sat down, she poured herself a cup on the strength of trusting the person who was once her student.
"Alright, now give me answers." Glynda said in a demanding tone
"Fair enough, for starters, me and the girl you saw me talking to. Her name is Rachel Alucard and the both of us are not your enemy. Rachel does have harsh words, is very judgmental, and full of herself most of the time. But she does have a kind heart, she just has a lot of responsibilities. Something I'm sure you can relate too." Amane told Glynda causing her look down for a second before Amane continued
"As for what I am, that's a bit complicated. I can't tell you everything, but what I can tell you is that I have a good idea of what's going on in the world. Also that Salem is the least of your problems." Amane said before he started to explain things to the stern Professor
(General Ironwood's Main Office)
After returning from the Schnee Manor, General Ironwood needed to sit down in his office and started getting arrangements in order for his new plan. The General knew that Jacques and by extension the majority of Atlus won't support his plans to close the Atlus Border. The opinions the people have of him isn't what's bothering him. What is bothering him, is that the fall of Beacon happened under his nose and not too long after selling out Ozpin and flaunting the might of Atlus to the world.
The Kingdom of Atlus is floating above the world with the intention to set an example. Now with Beacon's fall and the Kingdom of Vale in a chaotic mess. Along with Salem having an advantage regarding her plans. The more the General thought about the things that went wrong, the more he thought about one of the major factors in things going wrong. The factor is secrets and the lengths people will go to keep it. Though the General fully suspected that Ozpin is keeping several secrets from him and his inner circle. Ironwood also realizes that he kept certain secrets from those he trusted as well and also played a role falling for Salem's manipulations. This realization made him realize that things need to change. If they were to have any chance to effectively fight against Salem. While the General was deep in thought, his scroll started to ring and he knew who it was thanks to the specialized comm.
"Winter, how is everything going?" General Ironwood asked in a concerned tone
"Sir, there has been a complicated alteration with the mission. I was unable to capture Ragna the Bloodedge. When me and Potemkin confronted him, he proved to be too strong and the risk to ourselves and Atlus was too great." Winter briefly explained to the General causing him to take a deep breath
"I understand, at the very least we have a general idea of where he's currently located at. I'm glad that the both of you are safe." General Ironwood said before Winter spoke further
"Sir, even though we were unable to bring back Ragna, we managed to acquire another person of interest who should be able answer our questions. We were able to bring back Jubei." Winter said surprising Ironwood despite not seeing his face
"Jubei, one of the Six Heroes. Are you absolutely sure Winter?" General Ironwood asked
"Yes sir, me and Potemkin will be there with Jubei in a few days." Winter responded
"I understand, but this must be kept a secret. If the populace knew that Jubei will be here. There's no way to predict the response. Also, there is something we need to discuss." General Ironwood told Winter
"Understood, I will see you soon sir." Winter said before the transmission was cut off
"Seems like I came in at a good time." a voice said quickly surprising the General. When Ironwood saw who it was, he sees that it was Hazama who entered
"You have a lot of nerve coming to my office like this. You've gone dark for several months and you think you can come in expecting everything to be normal." General Ironwood said with a lot of suppressed anger
"Calm down General, I had a good reason for going dark like I did. For starters I was doing my job as head of the Intelligence Department. Part of the job description is to do the occasional investigation." Hazama told the General
"Then what's the reason Hazama, a lot has been happening recently and I can't allow carelessness." General Ironwood told Hazama
"Well for starters, ever since the fall of Beacon. I've been doing some investigation of my own. Some of the results of my investigation did point towards Mistral. However, those leads mostly trails back to the White Fang. So either the mastermind behind what happened to Beacon is using the White Fang or is trying to misdirect us. But that honestly pales in comparison to what I've learned from my investigation." Hazama said getting more of the General's attention before continuing further
"For starters, everything that announcer said had actually intrigued me. So I decided to look into what the announcer said and I've learned a few interesting things and a good portion of it goes back to Ronin Gai." Hazama told the General
"What does Ronin Gai have to do with any of this?" The General asked in a slightly impatient tone
"Ronin Gai and by extension Tenjo has several things to do with this. So please be a bit patient so you can get the full picture. After all, Tenjo has been hard at work with an ambitious project of hers. I did a lot of digging to learn this and I've discovered that she has been hard at work for the past few years to expand Ronin-Gai's territory. She's been doing it legally so for the most part its not a big problem. What the territory expansion means is what really makes things interesting." Hazama explained before he continued
"What makes this interesting is that Tenjo's ambitious plans is to establish a fifth Kingdom. The name of the Kingdom will be called Ikaruga." Hazama told General Ironwood
"Many Villages have made attempts to establish their own Kingdom. Unfortunately, many of them have failed due to a large number of factors. But from what I've seen of Ronin-Gai, Tenjo might have the potential to succeed where many Village Settlements and communities have failed. Especially with Ronin-Gai's unique resources that she refuses to distribute to the other Kingdoms on a large scale." General Ironwood said in a tired tone
"True, but along with the establishment of a new Kingdom. It will mean that Tenjo will have a great deal of political and diplomatic power. Which she will no doubt use, and thanks to my sources I know how she will use them. For instance, she plans to give amnesty to the members of the White Fang and is in the process of not only acquiring Menagerie but also give the Faunus citizenship. Now tell me, if the White Fang gains amnesty as well as citizenship. Won't that be a major benefit to the attackers?" Hazama said which has gotten more of Genera; Ironwood's attention
"I doubt Tenjo will give a slap on the wrist to those who attack innocent people. But if she establishes good ties to the Faunus, it will establish an alliance that the White Fang can make use of. Ronin-Gai can gain an army and slowly establish a military power." General Ironwood said voicing his thoughts at what he's heard.
"Establishing good relations with the Faunus and Menagerie isn't a real issue in the grand scheme of things. But offering an olive branch to terrorists after a major attack like that is either stupid, naïve, or is planning something quite major. Yet this is nothing compared to what else I've learned." Hazama told General Ironwood
"Is it something significant?" General Ironwood asked
"Oh it is, because my best source went above and beyond to help confirm my facts. He has to stay hidden, but he is a legitimate good source of info. The name of my source goes by the title of The One of the ten Sages. What I've learned is that Tenjo is in possession of a weapon that has the power to destroy Kingdoms. The name of the weapon is called Take-Mkazuchi and it is a Nox Nyctores." Hazama said which greatly surprised General Ironwood
"A weapon that is capable of destroying a Kingdom. If it's true, then that means Tenjo can destroy the other Kingdoms. I want you to give me a report on everything you've learned and this has to stay classified. I'm not doubting you or your source, but if this is true. Then that will make Ronin-Gai and by extension Tenjo a very potent threat, this can't be ignored." General Ironwood said in a worried tone at the realization
"My thoughts exactly General, I'll come by later with a report." Hazama said before the General called out to him
"Wait Hazama, since since you've informed me of something crucial and have provided some essential intel. It's only fair I confide in you with some intel I've acquired. I've sent out Winter on a classified mission. I won't go into details but she had to return but she's not coming back empty handed. Winter is going to be coming back with Jubei who is one of the Six Heroes. Given the classified nature of the mission, she will return in a few weeks." General Ironwood said getting Hazama's attention
"I see, well thank you for confiding in me. If there's nothing else I'll take my leave." Hazama said before he left and was in deep thought. Before he started to talk in a low tone once he was out of sight and earshot of the General
"If that Cat is coming to Atlus, then that means he either knows or suspects that I'm here. All Jubei has to do is look at me for my cover to be blown. Looks like I'm going to have to stay out of sight when he arrives, until I have an opportunity to act. I supposed it's time for me to collaborate with a few nobles. Looks like my evidence will give me a chance to make Robyn Hill useful for once." Hazama said before he started to chuckle to himself with a plan in mind
(River Bank)
As the water flowed alongside the land, a dark hand rose up from the water. Once the hand rose, it clung to the land and the individual pulled himself up from the water and made his way further to the land. The individual is Ragna and despite being heavily injured, he was very much alive. Once Ragna crawled to the land further, he mustered up some more strength to bring back his weapon Bloodedge and seconds later the weapon came. Yet once it did, Ragna fell to the ground with his remaining strength depleted. After he fell to the ground. Ragna proceeded to take several deep breaths as he looked up at the sky.
"Damn that masked freak. I hate to say it, but he won that fight and I was lucky to be alive. All the more reason for me to train and get stronger." Ragna said as he was taking his breaths. Before Ragna could try to figure out what to do. He heard several footsteps coming towards him and he didn't have the strength to look to see who it was.
"We found someone." A voice said before a group of people started to approach him. What Ragn was able to see, he recognized them as bandits and saw some of them surround his weapon. While a couple of them started to approach them.
"Leader, it's the one who's been all over the news. It's Ragna the Bloodedge himself." One of the Bandits said causing the third person to arrive. When Ragna saw this person, he recognized her immediately.
"I remember you, your Raven." Ragna struggled to say to Raven
"Looks like we hit the jackpot." Raven said to her allies
"What do we do with him?" One of the Bandits said
"He's a person of interest, some of you retrieve his weapon. While the rest of you will help bring him back to the Camp." Raven commanded the Bandits
"What if he resists us." One of the Bandits asked
"That won't be a problem." Raven confidently said as she looked at Ragna
"Wait. . . ." Ragna said before she kicked him in the face and knocked him unconscious.
(A/N)
The next chapter will either be a gag chapter or a side chapter. If I do the side chapter, it will take place between Volume 4 and Volume 5 of this story. It will be some time before I get to a main chapter because it won't bee too long if all goes well.
As for what happened, it was by luck that Ragna survived against Hakumen. But make no mistake that even though Ragna survived, he lost the fight against the White Void. I was tempted to have either Tager come and interfere with the fight or Rachel use her magic to help Ragna out. But for story reasons, Tager is nowhere near Mantle and as Rachel said in this chapter, Ragna can't be expected to be saved every time he's in danger.
I'm not going to reveal everything about Amane this soon. But let's just say he has a good idea of what's going on in the world. But he doesn't know everything and neither does Rachel.
Since it has been a good deal of time, I'm curious. What do you guys think of how I've handled both Ragna and Jin at this current point in the story. There's no special reason I'm mostly just curious.
So read and review
Thank you
