POV: James Potter | September 29th, 1998
James opened his eyes, groaning in pain as the deconditioning took its toll. He had been in cryostasis through the entire day, and had just woken up in the evening of September 29th, 1998. His memory was clearer than before, allowing him to think more clearly. His godfather was Sirius Black, his friends were Hermione and Ron, and he had arrived here through the Veil of Death in the Department of Mysteries, having fallen through while trying to save Sirius. He had been captured by Umbrella, used by them as a weapon for two years before he was dispatched to Racoon City in order to assist Nemesis and the Tyrant. However, when his plane crashed, his inhibitor implants began to malfunction, changing the objectives he was given as well as his handlers. Now though, he was free to think for himself, and was somewhat better.
He was worried for Jill, who had left on the train out of the city. James hoped she was safe as he stepped out of the pod. He tore off what was left of his Umbrella uniform, leaving him naked as he conjured a pair of clothes that fit him. He had chosen clothes that were appropriate for the current situation. It was a fitted suit with grey sneakers, grey dress pants, a grey dress shirt with a high collar, and a grey cloak dropping wrapped around him that had a red interior and a popped collar. There was gold lining on the center of the dress shirt, and gold lining surrounded the edges of the cloak. It was made of elastic material, meaning it couldn't be ripped, and would expand if he were to change into his 9' 7" mutant form.
James pulled his bag off of the ground, slinging it over his shoulder as he moved out of the Bioweapon Incubation Room. He pulled out his infinite ammo Ravager, knowing that some controlled bioweapons would go for him now that he was officially rogue. James aimed towards the elevator door, opening it to reveal a bioweapon that he quickly eliminated. He entered the elevator, hitting 1F as the doors closed. The elevator rose to the top floor, depositing James into the Machinery Room. James stepped out of the room, moving through the halls as he easily dispatched bioweapon after bioweapon. He moved through the Incubation Room and the Server Room, before moving through the Experimental Storage room. He moved up the steps entering the underground storage area of the Hospital.
Moving out of the corridor leading away from the NEST 2 facility. He cast 'Homenum Revelio' and found four individuals within the hospital. James frowned. Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira, Tyrell Patrick, and Nicholai Zinoviev. With the turn of his heel James apparated from the depths of the hospital and reappeared in the top floor within a makeshift sickroom next to the lobby. There, he saw it. Jill was lying in the only bed in the room, a stab wound in her left arm. She was pale and green. She had been infected. Casting a diagnostics charm on her, he found Jill had been infected for almost ten hours. That seemed impossible, unless she had a natural resistance to the T-Virus. It would explain the slow change.
"How the hell did you get in here?" James turned to find Tyrell Patrick. At James' appearance, Tyrell froze, before relaxing a bit. "Jill told us about you and how you saved her. Said you fought Nemesis to buy her and Carlos time to escape. All the good it did you though. Nemesis came back and infected her earlier this morning. Where have you been?" Tyrell asked.
"I sent myself in for reconditioning. I was able to change my own mind and instead participated in deconditioning. I was able to separate myself from Umbrella, and can make decisions for myself," James replied. Tyrell frowned, but didn't comment on it as James turned back to Jill. He rested his hand on hers, and frowned. He had been selfish to return to NEST. If he had stayed with her she wouldn't be infected, and no spell that he knew could cure her. There were potions that could do it, but he didn't know how to brew them. "Where's Mr. Oliveira?"
"Carlos? He's down in the lab beneath us trying to develop a cure for Jill. I'm trying to find a way to contact the government, because by the 1st this place is gonna be nuked to hell. If Carlos can find a suitable cure, we can tell the higher-ups that the city can be saved," Tyrell explained. James frowned, his hand still on Jill's as he took in Tyrell's words. The city would be blown to hell, and all those infected and survived would be killed. Good. The infection would mutate within the next few days, gaining the ability to spread via air. Once that happened, it could spread down-wind to any other city or region. And even if a cure was developed, there was no way that it would be able to be distributed in and over the city in five days. He voiced his thoughts to Tyrell, who frowned. "Ok...so what do we do? Just sit here and let the bomb blow us to hell? Or is there another way out?"
"Well, I can transport a minimum of two people out at a time with apparition, but can take a dozen individuals with me somewhere else with the use of a portkey. I know for certain that there are survivors within the Racoon City Police Station. I can head there now and escort any and all survivors out of the city. Once Carlos returns with the vaccine and gives it to Jill, the four of us can get out," James explained. Tyrell nodded in agreement, taking a seat at the makeshift desk as he began to type away. "I'll need a reference to apparate. If you have an image of the Police Department's exterior or interior, I can use that to apparate there," Tyrell raised an eyebrow, but nodded as he pulled up an image of the R.P.D lobby. It was a large lobby, with a white statue in the back looking down at the front desk. "Perfect, thank you,"
"How many survivors are in the building?" Tyrell asked.
"My 'Homenum Revelio' in that area earlier revealed two dozen individuals, though I believe that number could have decreased recently," James replied. "I'll eliminate any bioweapons within the building and escort survivors out of the blast's vicinity," Without another word, James turned his heel and apparated away from the Hospital, appearing directly in the center of the city. He was on the roof of a small building, peering down the edge to find the Racoon City Police Department. He cast another 'Homenum Revelio' on the building, and frowned. It had gone from 22 survivors to 5. Taking a long deep breath, James jumped down from the roof, slamming into the ground with an assault rifle in hand.
He was formulating a plan in his mind as he reached the front gates of the Police Department. The virus in his blood made him immune to bioweapon's attention, making the only reason for killing them to be convenience. If they were in his way, he would dispatch them with ease and move on. It was the Lickers, the MA-39 Cerberus', the Lurkers, the Tyrant-T Type 'Nemesis' as well as the T-00 'Mr. X'. The five were present in this part of the city, and it made James fearful. He would have to limit himself when it came to magical output. This made sense, seeing as his inability to control his magic had resulted in the explosion in the southside of downtown. It would be terrible if the same thing were to occur in the Police Department. Especially with survivors within the building.
His attention was pulled away from the police department by a large roar, as well as the sound of someone slamming into the ground. The scent of the creature reached James' nose as he frowned. Nemesis. James spun around, ready to face the beast as a fist slammed into his face. James flew back, slamming into the front steps of the police department as Nemesis stood over him, machine gun in hand as he let out an entire clip on James' face. James screamed out in pain as his face was torn to shreds, his hands outstretching. His left hand grabbed the barrel of the gun, while his right hand grabbed hold of Nemesis' face. With a burst of energy James ripped the gun from Nemesis' grip before sending a banishing curse at the creature. This sent Nemesis - who was beyond its original form - flying back several blocks.
Getting to his feet, James slowly felt the monster inside him rise. It wanted to mutate. To go into his second form. He wouldn't allow it. James pushed his magic into the creature, forcing it down within him as he began to slowly heal. James growled in pain, channeling power from the planet's ley lines to funnel more magic into suppressing the monster inside of him. It was when he began to suddenly apparate around the street, disappearing and reappearing on top of buildings and on top of cars that he began to panic. His vision began to blur slightly as James felt himself slam into the roof of a nearby car, before disappearing from the street all together. The last thing James saw was a bright neon sign shining down at him. Mizoil.
