POV: Leon S. Kennedy | September 29th, 1998
After discovering who Harry really was from Ada, Leon was conflicted as to what to do about the wizard/bioweapon. His trusting and sympathetic side told him that Harry was a good person, and wouldn't hurt anyone unless it was needed. But his logical and protective side told him that Harry was dangerous, and had already caused damage to the city and injured his friends when lashing out. It made it all confusing. Harry was his own person, with a personality, humor, his own past. He wasn't like Nemesis or the Tyrant, emotionless and blank. Leon didn't know if he would be able to pull the trigger if the time came, but knew that given the situation...he would do what was necessary. Whatever it took.
Now, Leon stood in Birkin's lab, in the midst of extracting the G-Virus sample within. He and Ada had gone through the sewers, fighting off alligator monsters and 'Hunters' as they moved further into the depths of the city. They had been ambushed by Annette, who fired a shot at Ada. Leon had jumped in front of the bullet, taking it in the shoulder before passing out. He woke up to find Ada gone, with him being alone in the sewers. Leon had set off to find her, doing so by rescuing her from the depths of a trash compactor. They had gotten to the cable car that led into the NEST facility, with that also being the location in which Ada kissed him. It had been a nice kiss, nothing big, but it was also something that felt right, given the connection they had formed while in the Sewers.
Leon had left her in the cable car, believing she was safe there as he went off to retrieve the sample. And there he was, unable to reach Harry or Claire using the radio as he stepped up to the spirally container full of empty vials. All except for the vial in front of him, which was filled with red liquid. The G-Virus. He grabbed it, frowning as he examined it. "Huh...that was easy...alright, now back to Ada" Leon said, expecting some sort of automated turret or at least a clue to crack. After placing it into his pocket, he turned and stepped out of the room, only for an alarm to blare. "Attention: Unauthorized removal of a [Level 4] virus detected. Facility lockdown initiated. Self-destruct sequence will begin when lockdown is complete."
Shaking his head, Leon stepped out of the P-4 Level Testing Room as he moved through the overpass looking over the Bioreactors Room. He was a foot from the door when the ceiling came crashing down to reveal the creature with the shoulder/eye. "You again," Leon remarked, holding up his magnum with an annoyed expression as he was shoved aside by...Annette? She was holding a silver flare gun, and spoke to him with a hint of anger. "Move. He's mine. This has to end," She spoke, firing at the monster as several gallons of acid sudden exploded all over the creature, causing to scream in agony. She shot it again, producing a 'What the hell is going on?' that he barely acknowledged until Annette actually responded. But not to him, but to the creature. "Sorry, William. You left me no choice,"
"You called this thing "William". Why?" Leon asked, kneeling beside the creature as he examined it.
"It shouldn't have been like this...It's Umbrella's fault-this whole mess," Annette replied.
"You're Umbrella, too. You're telling me you weren't involved in this?" Leon questioned.
"Yes...but we never meant for this to happen," Annette spoke.
"Then tell me everything. Right from the start," Leon told her, crossing his arms as Annette told him everything. From Umbrella's Security Force's Alpha Team coming for the sample, William being shot, his injection, turning into this monster. "So...you made this monster?" Leon asked.
"We made the G Virus, but we never intended this to -"
"You can spin it anyway you want. You're still responsible," Leon cut her off. Annette never got to respond as she was suddenly snatched up by William, who crushed her before throwing her against the nearby wall, all the while taking magnum rounds to the eye by Leon. "The hell?!" Leon exclaimed as the magnum rounds seemed to not be doing their jobs. After a moment, the platform they stood on suddenly began to lower. Leon spun towards Annette, his eyes wide as he found her at the console. "What're you doing?!" He shouted, not liking the idea of being trapped down here with that thing until either he kill William or William killed him. And Leon wasn't too fond of either option whatsoever.
"We can't let him get away!" Annette replied, falling back against the wall. Leon frowned, nodding as he realized she was right. William had to be ended once and for all. The system operating the facility hummed, speaking. "Class A breach detected. Lab quarantined until target is neutralized," Great. Now Leon had to kill Leon, or else he and Annette would be stuck in here when the entire lab blew. Pulling out his shotgun, Leon held that in one hand with his magnum in the other, he fired both weapons at once, nailing William in two eyes at the same time. Running forward, he ducked one of William's swings, before firing on the creature's back, hitting three eyes as William cried out, lurching forward in pain before suddenly swinging around, backhanding a surprised Leon.
He was sent flying back into the wall, dropping his guns as he landed on his ass. "Come on, Leon. Gotta get up," Leon told himself grabbing his magnum as he opened fire on William's main eye. The creature roared in pain, pulling its arm back, ready to impale Leon as William brought it down. Leon knew he would be hit at the speed he was rolling out of the way. It wouldn't kill him immediately, but it would tear him up badly. He was saved the pain when William suddenly grunted, his arm being yanked back before he was sent flying into the wall beside Leon. The confused cop looked up to find one Harry Potter, standing in front of him. He was nine feet tall again, and seemed to have orange goo clawing up his neck.
"Go Leon. The door's open," Harry spoke, reaching down as he grabbed William by the neck. Leon watch as Harry slammed William into the wall a few times, before tossing him aside, only to catch the monster with a tendril Harry fired from his hand. The tendril grabbed William by the ankle, pulling him upwards upside down as Harry began to spin around, sending William flying around as Leon was forced to duck. William was slammed into the bioreactors, roaring and screaming in pain as Harry let go, sending William flyting back into the wall. Harry's neck twitch, a growl escaping his lips as he moved forward.
Leon watched in both fear and anticipation as Harry grabbed William by the neck once more, holding out his hand as several tendrils flew around William, stabbing the G-creature in all of its eyes as Harry pulled back his left fist. He drew it back all the way, before slamming it directly into William. Instead of it punching the creature like normal, Harry's fist slammed through William's face, leaving a bloody hole as the tendrils coming from Harry's hand returned to their normal position. With no support, William's neck tore from his body, which fell to the floor as his head remained on Harry's extended arm. That to slid off and fell to the ground, with Harry turning to face a thankful and worried Leon.
"Are...you ok?" Leon asked, noticing how odd Harry looked. The wizard's fists were bright orange, pulsing as bubbles began to form. The orange had gone up his neck, reaching his mouth as Harry groaned. The wizard fell to his hands and knees, letting out a scream as Leon backed away onto the elevator. He pressed the button, rising up to the overpass as the system spoke. "Target has been neutralized. Ending quarantine." The door that had been torn open by no doubt Harry suddenly hissed, opening all the way as Leon moved to Annette's side. "Come on. We need to get out of here before he goes berserk," Leon spoke, grabbing Annette's shoulder as she let out a hiss in pain.
"I...can't. Please tell me...you'll...destroy the G-virus," Annette spoke.
"No. It's evidence. It's going to the FBI," Leon replied, sparing a glance towards Harry, who was breathing heavily as he pulled back, his back arching as he let out a blood-curling scream that made even Annette wince.
"You...you trust that bitch?" Annette asked.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Leon questioned, knowing she was referring to Ada.
"She's not FBI *cough* she's a mercenary. She's gonna sell it *cough* The G-Virus is gonna go to highest bidder," Annette explained.
"That's...that's bullshit," Leon spoke, getting to his feet as he gripped the sample.
"I hope you're right...but if the G-Virus *cough* gets into the wrong hands -" Annette didn't get to finish as she slumped onto her side. Leon shook his head, turning to find Harry standing beside him. The wizard was still breathing heavily and was sweating from head to toe, but he had seemed to be able to control the mutation enough to return to his normal appearance and height of 6' 1". "Give me the virus, Leon..." Harry spoke, grasping the wall. Leon noticed that Harry had blood all over his right leg, and the left leg of his pants were gone, making him barefoot on that foot.
"What the hell happened to you? Where's Claire?" Leon asked as he and Harry exited the Bioreactor Rooms, mostly due to the voice that spoke. "Attention: Self-destruct sequence initiated. Use the Central Elevator to evacuate immediately to the bottom-level train platform." They stepped onto the catwalk, with Harry speaking in an exhausted tone. "Claire...unconscious...rescued little girl. Both...are safe. Now give...the sample," He was completely out of breath, clasping at his shirt as Harry removed the grey and red cloak, pulling off his buttoned up shirt as he stood in only his pants. He looked like he had a fever, and was red and sweating. Leon admitted that Harry looked like shit. Deciding the virus was better in Harry's hands then Ada's, Leon passed it over to Harry, who examined it with a frown.
He never got to say or do anything with it as gunfire rang out. Harry was sent back multiple times as seven bullets flew through his chest, blood going everywhere as he fell to his knees. Leon's eyes widened in horror as he spun to find Ada at the main elevator shaft, rushing up to him. He held up his magnum towards her, causing Ada to come to a stop as Leon heard Harry gasp for breath before a growl followed. "What the hell did you just do?!" Leon exclaimed, looking back at Harry to find the wizard was once again turning orange. The bullet wounds had already healed, leaving a pissed off wizard facing off a pissed off mercenary.
"He needs to die," Ada spoke.
"No, he doesn't Ada. Can't you tell he's different?"
"Not from where I'm standing," Ada replied, reloading her pistol once more only for it to fly out of her hand as Harry got to his feet. The wizard's fist clenched as the virus' vial snapped in half, the sample going everywhere. "NO!" Ada opened fire on Harry to no avail, the bullets either bouncing off of Harry's skin or being sent flying off by Harry as he waved his hand. It had been two hours since the so called 'Ley Line' had fallen, leading Leon to believe Harry had recovered enough of his magic to comfortably use it.
"Harry! Stop!" Leon shouted, grabbing the wizard's shoulder only for said wizard to spin around, grabbing Leon's arm before flinging the rookie cop over his shoulder as Leon slammed directly into Ada. The two lay sprawled out on the platform as the facility crumbled around them. Leon had dropped his magnum only for it to fall off the platform, and he had lost his shotgun in the Bioreactors Room. This only left him with Matilda, a single grenade, and a flamethrower. All of which seemed useless against a B.O.W like Harry, who could so easily take down William.
"Don't you see, Leon?! He has to die!" Ada exclaimed. She pulled out a small device, and held it out towards Harry as she pressed the green button located on it. Harry let out a cry of pain as he fell to his knees. The wizard's hand shot to the back of his neck, letting out a roar as he held out a hand. Ada was sent flying back off of the platform, slamming into the wall before falling. She caught herself on the edge of the platform, dangling there as Leon shot towards her. He jumped, sliding on his front as he caught Ada's wrist, catching her from falling to her death. "Hold on... I think I can… Agh! Shit!" Leon exclaimed, turning to find Harry striding towards them, his face dark and his eyes yellow. He was mutating.
"Forget it, Leon. He's coming," Ada replied.
"Shut up! I've got you!" Leon cried out, growling in pain as he tried and failed to life Ada.
"It's not worth it," Ada told him.
"Don't do this," Leon begged, gripping even tighter as she intentionally pulled her weight down, trying to make him let go.
Ada gave him a sad smile, before she whispered. "Take care of yourself, Leon,"
Her wrist slipped from his grasp. "No!" Leon screamed, his hand extending as he watched her fall. She didn't go far though. A tendril shot past Leon at the speed of sound, grabbing Ada by the waist before yanking her back up. Leon turned and found that Harry had collapsed, his hand extended like Leon's. His eyes were green, but the tint of yellow was still there. Harry pulled Ada up, dropping her onto the platform before falling backwards onto his back. He groaned, visibly in pain as his body continued to bubble and turn orange. "Get...her out of...here," Harry told Leon, his eyes flashing between green and black as the wizard's fist's clenched.
"Leon," Ada whispered, holding her arm out as Leon took it. He placed the arm around his shoulder as Leon guided her down the platform. He spared a glance back at Harry, who had turned around and was now on his hands and knees. "Don't worry, I've got you," Leon told her, carrying Ada into the elevator as he clicked the correct button. He glanced one last time towards Harry, who was once more nine feet tall as he slowly got to his feet. The elevator descended lowering down into a small room. The countdown was down to seven and a half minutes. Once the door to the elevator slid open, allowing Leon and Ada to stumbled forward. He slowly guided her into a sitting position against the console, before turning it on. There, he saw...Claire. She was examining the other side of the image, before turning away. "Claire!"
"Leon? Did you get the sample? Where's Harry?"
"Harry destroyed William and the sample, but...Claire, he's turning. He saved Ada but last we saw it looked like he was mutating into something else," Leon exclaimed. Claire went wide-eyed, but he continued. "The whole place is coming down. Listen to me, Claire. You need to get out! Fast!"
"Yeah...there's a way out. We all can make it. Where are you now?" Claire asked, only for the image to blur as the sound cut off.
"Claire?! You still there?" Leon asked, the image returning as audio did as well.
"Leon? Hey Leon, you're breaking up -"
"Claire! If you can get out, go! We'll find another way," Leon spoke, before the transmission died. "Shit...seven minutes," Leon said. He turned to look down at Ada, but found that she was gone. Shit. Shaking his head, Leon stepped out of the room, moving down a ladder before moving towards the door. He reached it only for the ceiling to collapse behind him. He spun around, Matilda in hand as he spotted the Tyrant. "Come on, is this a fucking joke?" Leon asked, pushing through the door. He wasn't going to fight the Tyrant here. Not in such an enclosed space.
"Seven minutes until detonation," The system spoke. Leon was making his way through the ducts when the wall to his left blew with flaming red heat, fire going everywhere as Leon pulled up his arms to shield himself. He turned around, looking for another way to go only for the Tyrant to appear in front of him. The B.O.W grabbed Leon by the face, pulling him up like he had in the garage as Leon tried to kick himself free. Another oil tank blew to Leon's right sending the Tyrant stumbling as it let go of Leon. The catwalk began to slowly break apart as the rookie cop tried to get his footing, fire blazing everywhere as two more explosions sent Leon flying backwards onto his side. He'd definitely broken a rib or two.
The Tyrant's sudden absence gave Leon the time he needed to get to his feet and move out of the hallway, moving onto a large platform that contained a large lift that would take him down to the exit. Leon placed the two battery cells he'd grabbed earlier into the console, pulling the lift handle down as an explosion shook the entire facility. Looking up, Leon sighed. The Tyrant was back, only he was different. He was shirtless, having grown in muscle, and his right arm was like Williams - spiky and burnt - and the arm was on fire. And unlike before, the Tyrant looked pissed. Steel columns were sent tumbling as one crashed into the lift, sending Leon stumbling forward while another landed behind the Tyrant, who jumped down before landing in front of Leon.
Time seemed to slow down as Leon looked down at his feet, finding a black pouch. He quickly grabbed it, and opened it to find...his magnum, his shotgun, a few different grenades, and an SMG he hadn't had before. The card attached to the side was labeled 'I apologize, from Harry'. Leon grinned, pulling out the SMG as he unloaded on the Tyrant. He pulled out a grenade, gripping the clip with his teeth before yanking. Leon tossed it at the Tyrants feet, watching the explosion as the Super Tyrant stumbled back. Leon continued to dodge and weave around the Super Tyrant, using everything he had collected - weapons, throwables, and medicines - in order to survive until getting down to the exit.
The Super Tyrant let out a roar as it dug its giant spike arm into the ground, charging forward as it dragged said arm along. Leon felt someone push him aside, causing him to land against the railing as he noticed it. Harry Potter stood at nine feet tall, his entire body orange and his eyes black. His nails were sharp and covered in blood, and his teeth appeared sharper as well. There were spikes coming out of his back, and he seemed to had a large lump in the back of his neck that pulsated every other moment. He had gone into his second form. "TYRANT!" Harry shouted, charging forward with fury as Leon added additional support with his magnum. He watched as the two got into a full fist fight, exchanging slashes, tearing, biting, kicking, as well as an occasional stab that only produced a scream from one of the two as they continued.
Leon was caught off guard by the system as it spoke. "Three minutes to detonation," They needed to get out of there quickly. Luckily for Leon, a support beam slammed into the lift, causing it to tilt as a supply crate came sliding to his feet. It was unfortunate for Harry though, as he was sent flying off and blow the ramp as the beam slammed directly into him. Leon had no time to react though as he snapped the crate open to find a...missile launcher. Filled with four missiles. "How the hell did this get here?" Leon asked. He shook himself, deciding to focus as he grabbed the launcher, hoisting it on his shoulder as he aimed and fired. A missile shot from the barrel and into Mr. X, who let out a loud road as his right arm appeared missing. With a deep breath, Leon aimed at the head...and fired.
The missile shot forward with a WHOOSH!, hitting the Super Tyrant as smoke spread over the lift. Leon held up his hand, waving it in front of his face to try to clear it. When it did eventually clear, he spotted what was left of the Super Tyrant. It's lower half. It's entire upper body was gone in a pile of blood, leaving only the legs and lower abdomen. And even those fell forward dead. "Two minutes to detonation,"
"Shit," Leon muttered, looking around for any sign of Harry. Nothing. He must have been crushed by the lift or escaped in front of Leon. Deciding to see for himself when he reached the exit, Leon sprinted forward. He used his magnum to dispose of a few zombies present, before running onto the train platform. A yellow and black train was rolling by, giving him the perfect escape. Leon picked up the pace, stowing his magnum in his pouch as he tried to grab hold of the bar beside the center of the train, an area where he could rest. He jumped, grabbing the bar as he was dragged against the pavement. With a grunt, Leon pulled himself onto the train, breathing a sigh of relief as he looked back, watching as the facility blew to smithereens. "Fucking christ," Leon spoke, leaning back as he took a deep breath. It had been a long night.
