POV: Claire Redfield | September 29th, 1998
Claire Redfield shot up with a start, looking around as her hand reached for her holster. She looked around, and found she was alone in what looked like a train car. It was empty except for a few crates, the benches, and a small chair propped up by the wall. Claire slowly got to her feet, finding her gun in her pouch. She drew it, looking around cautiously as she slowly moved towards the door. Claire stepped through, and ran right into Sherry Birkin in the small passage between cars. The little girl held to bowls of soup, holding them carefully as she reeled back at Claire's sudden appearance. "Oh my god, Sherry, are you ok? Where are we? What happened to your father? What happened to Harry? And where did you get soup?"
"Calm down, Claire," Sherry spoke cheerfully, moving past Claire and back into the first car. Claire followed the little girl, who seemed joyful as she set the two bowls of soup on the floor. "I'm fine. Harry was a big help. He had some medical supplies in the trunk in the other car. Some type of spray. I've seen mommy use it, but I wasn't sure what it was without the label. I don't know where we are, because I haven't left the train, and my daddy...I think he's gone. Harry seemed hurt when he rescued us, but I think he...I think he put my daddy to sleep," Claire gave the girl a sad smile, not sure what to say.
"And the soup?"
"Harry. He has this really could thing that his trunk can do. I asked it for soup and it gave me soup. Then I asked for my favorite teddy bear, and -" Sherry dug into the back of her pants, and pulled out a stuffed teddy bear with a different material on the side, most likely having been a sewed 'injury'. "But Harry...he's been gone since the elevator. He left me a note for the trunk, but I couldn't read it. His handwriting was weird like my mommy's. All curved and slanted,"
"Harry was in the elevator?" Claire asked.
"Yeah. He's the one that rescued us," Sherry replied, playing with her teddy bear. "His pants were ripped and he was tired, but he did this magic trick that brought us here,"
"Apparition? Or did he give you an object that did it?" Claire questioned.
"You're necklace. It's pretty," Sherry commented. Claire frowned, looking down at her necklace in confusion. Then she realized what Sherry had meant. Harry had turned her necklace into a portkey. Like he had given the pencil to Leon back in the elevator. "I asked the trunk for a pair of clothes, but all it gave me was a pair of jeans, and I don't like jeans. Mommy always said they didn't work with my shirts," Sherry added, motioning to her buttoned up shirt and patterned vest. Claire smiled. Annette was right, jeans wouldn't have worked well with those. Now that Sherry mentioned fresh clothes, Claire realized that her red jacket was covered in grime and blood as was her jeans and black tank top below.
She opened the pouch on her belt, and pulled out the pouch that held the spare clothes Harry had given her and Leon in the Men's Locker Room. "I'll go see if I can find something for you in the other car," Claire spoke, getting to her feet as she left Sherry and her delicious tomato soup behind. Claire stepped into the other car, and found a large wooden trunk, a few open and closed crates, and a few chairs lined against the wall. Claire set the pouch aside, pulling of her belt and her thigh holster before dropping them onto the ground beside the trunk. Clare proceeded to pull of her red jacket, neatly folding it before placing it on the closest chair. She then stripped down to nothing, hoping to god Sherry didn't step in as she opened the clothing pouch Harry had given her.
Dumping its contents onto the ground, Claire couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at what Harry had chosen for her. Shaking her head, she pulled on the outfit, making the finishing touches before conveniently finding a mirror in the pouch. She pulled it out and examined herself, and Claire had to admit she kind of liked the look. She wore black heels, black tight jeans, a white buttoned up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to below her elbows with two loose buttons, black gloves, thin black suspenders around her shoulders, a black tie that was loosened, and she wore a black fedora with a white stripe around the base that finished the whole ensemble. It felt loose and comfortable, allowing her to move freely while also being a bit stylish. It made her wonder what Harry had given Leon.
Shaking her head, Claire stepped towards the trunk, opening to find it empty with the exception of a small letter. It read; 'To Sherry. Sorry if the ride was a bit overwhelming, but don't worry, it will pass. Claire might be out of it for a while, so if you need anything, you can find it here in my trunk. If you need anything, just ask for it, close the trunk, and open it again. It's a bit specific, so if you don't get something, you probably just didn't ask for it the right way. Say hi to Claire for me, and tell her I'm fine. Your friend, Harry Potter' Claire smiled down at the letter, closing the trunk as she spoke. "I want clothes for a young girl," Opening the trunk once more, Claire was met with a set of folded clothes. Perfect for Sherry.
Scooping up the clothes, Claire moved back into the other car to find Sherry enjoying her soup. Claire knelt down beside, holding out the change of clothes as Sherry smiled. "Thanks, Claire!" Sherry exclaimed, keeping her cheerful mood as she hopped off of the flood and dashed for the other car to get changed, not commenting on Claire's new outfit. Shaking her head, Claire took a seat, pulling her radio off of her belt as she pressed down on it. With the tower being above ground - and probably destroyed by now - Claire didn't expect any response, but she spoke. "Harry. Leon. If either of you are there, Sherry and I are located in the emergency train located somewhere in the facility. When you're done retrieving the vaccine and G-Virus sample, I'll get the train started,"
Letting go of the radio, Claire slowly got to her feet, pulling out her Lightning Hawk as she examined it with a frown. It felt different in her hands. It wasn't the gloves, that much she knew, but it felt...heavier. Odd. She pointed it at the wall, and fired, multiple times. Pulling out the magazine, Claire frowned. The clip had lost rounds. Harry's charm had...worn off. Claire felt an inner panic rise inside of her as she turned to the car door, which led directly to where Sherry was changing. She couldn't leave Sherry alone to look for Harry...no. No. She had to make sure the train was ready for them to leave. Taking a deep breath, Claire moved to her soup. Having not eaten anything since she had left Denver, Claire was both exhausted and starving. She mentally thanked Harry for the soup and the clothes as she ate spoonful after spoonful.
"What do you think?" Sherry's voice pulled Claire's attention to the door, where Sherry was standing with her arms wide. She had gotten a golden jacket, white socks, a black skirt, and black boots. It fit with Sherry's hair, as well as the golden pattern on her wristwatch. Claire smiled, glad that the clothes fit Sherry as she spoke. "It looks good on you," Claire replied. "Why don't you stay in here? I'm going to go outside and check for a way to put us down on the track. Can't get out of here if we're stuck on this platform," Claire explained.
"Is Harry coming back soon?" Sherry questioned, picking up her bowl of soup as she too slowly began to eat. Claire frowned, shaking her head as she became lost in thought. "I don't know, Sherry. I'm sure he will, but he's...well, he's got a job, and I don't think he's the type of person to just leave when its not done. But I have a feeling he'll come back," Claire replied. "I have to go look around, try to find a way to get these cars down on the track. I gotta get this train moving...no use using it if we're just going to stay on this platform and not go anywhere. I need you to stay right here, OK?"
"OK. I promise I won't move," Claire replied, still sipping on her soup.
"Good," Claire spoke as she got to her feet.
"Be careful," Sherry called out.
Claire peered over her shoulder with a smile. "Always," Stepping out of the car, Claire jumped off of the partition between the two cars. There was a door across the way, which seemed the only way to get out. She stepped through the door, and was met with a surprise. A full minigun just lying on a table. Frowning, Claire grabbed the minigun before moving towards the console beside her. Claire found a pair of power cells beside her, which fit into the console. She placed it into said console, before pulling down on the lever. This activated the console and the train lift, and she was met with...a camera feed. "Claire!" The voice of Leon called out as the static ended and his face appeared on the screen.
"Leon? Did you get the sample? Where's Harry?" Claire questioned.
"Harry destroyed William and the sample, but...Claire, he's turning. He saved Ada but last we saw it looked like he was mutating into something else," Leon exclaimed. Claire went wide-eyed. If he was mutating here into his second form..."The whole place is coming down. Listen to me, Claire. You need to get out! Fast!" Leon shouted through the spotty connection.
"Yeah...there's a way out. We all can make it. Where are you now?" Claire asked, only for the image to blur as the sound cut off. She could make out 'You still there?' before the image seemed to distort as they lost service. "Leon? Hey Leon, you're breaking up -"
"Claire! If you can get out, go! We'll find another way!" Leon exclaimed, only for the connection to die. Claire frowned. She didn't want to leave her new friend alone down in this shit-hole if she didn't have to, but the self-destruct timer had reached her location, and with Sherry on the train...she came first. Taking a deep breath to reign in her thoughts, Claire stepped out of the room, facing the train as she stepped forward. She didn't go far, seeing as the platform lurched, slowly descending as the wall above them suddenly imploded. And out same William Birkin, somehow still alive even after Leon confirmed Harry killed him. William was in his...third or fourth form? He crashed onto the top of the train, letting out a roar as three dozen orange eyes popped out of his body. She had targets.
Revving up the minigun, Claire began to open fire, filling William with led as shells fell to the ground beside her. William roared once again, jumping into the air right on top of her. Claire rolled out of the way, dropping the minigun as she pulled out her grenade launcher. She fired a few rounds directly into William, before finding that she had run out of ammo. Switching to her magnum, Claire reloaded and fired a dozen shots into the creature's belly, where a collection of eye's sat. Claire ran out of magnum ammo after a while, having not collected ammo lying around due to the fact that Harry's infinite ammo magic had given her all the ammo she needed. But now, she was left with very little ammo, a few grenades, her flamethrower, and her knife.
This is how things occurred for the next five minutes. Claire would dish out ammo or flames onto William - or use her knife if reloading wasn't an option - before dodging his attacks. He seemed to go for only two. One on ground and one from above. They were easy to maneuver around, but she had been hit once, and it had almost knocked her into the wall. She didn't want to do that again. After five minutes, the voice system spoke. "Two minutes to detonation," Claire grunted as she rolled out of the way of one William's sings, pulling out her knife as she stabbed William directly in the large eye on his right shoulder. This seemed to be the right thing to do as William screamed, backing away as bubbles began to form all over him. After a minute, they started popping, blood bursting out of the mutated William as his corpse fell to the ground.
Picking up the minigun, Claire sprinted for the train, climbing on as it descended onto the track. She entered the car, dropping the minigun as Sherry ran up to her. Dropping to a knee, the two hugged. "Claire!" Sherry called out, rushing towards Claire as she got to her knee. The two shared a hug, with Claire smiling brightly down at the young girl. "It's OK, I'm here. We are getting outta here!" She slowly got to her feet, looking out the window to find that the train was slowly pulling away from the platform. They were moving, and would be out of the blast radius when the facility blew. Claire moved back to the crate, picking up her bowl of soup as she continued to eat. Fighting that thing took a lot out of her.
After a few minutes, Claire spoke. "So what's the first thing you wanna do when we get outta here?"
"I want to see where you live," Sherry replied with a joyful smile at the idea.
"Good, cause I...need to take a shower," Claire said. The new clothes had helped with that, but she hadn't had the chance to clean up since that morning before she had left for Raccoon City.
"Yeah..." Sherry spoke, dramatically waving her hand in front of her nose.
Chuckling, Claire shook her head. "Really? That bad?" She held up her arm, and frowned. "Oh, yeah..." The two both let out a laugh at that, before their attention was brought towards the door, which slid open to reveal Leon S. Kennedy. His RPD uniform was covered in dirt and blood, his left sleeve was torn and in its place was a bloody bandage. He had been shot. "Leon!?" Claire exclaimed, her joy at seeing him again apparent. They hadn't seen each other since the elevator, which had been almost two to three hours. Leon looked up from the floor at her exclamation, a smile immediately spreading across his face.
"Hey...we made it," Leon spoke, looking between Claire and Sherry.
Claire had to resist the urge to correct him. Most of them had made it it seemed. But instead, she kept her smile for Sherry's sake. "Just like I said we would,"
Leon nodded, and turned to Sherry. "Who's this?"
"This? This is Sherry. The little girl Harry and I saved up in the lab," Claire replied. A sad expression past over Leon's face for a split second, but was immediately taken over by his smile as he nodded. He didn't get to say more than 'Ok' as the train suddenly lurched to the side. "What was that?" Claire asked, quickly recovering as Leon shook his head.
"I don't know,"
"You stay here with Sherry. I'm gonna go check it out," Claire told Leon. The two could have gone together to handle the problem, but she would prefer it if Leon stayed with Sherry to look after the young girl. Claire moved into the other car, finding a large storage crate. She opened it to find a box full of minigun ammo, some pistol ammo, a knife, and a few grenade launcher shells. She loaded them all into her weapons, before moving into the next car, which was completely empty. Claire was halfway through the door when the entire wall in front of her was suddenly pulled apart. There - behind the destruction - was a monster more horrific than Claire had ever seen. William was back, only now he was four times his normal size, appearing as a gooey blob of orange limbs and yellow eyes. It's fangs were sharp and positioned around the eye, appearing to call out for her. No longer was William Birkin present. All that remained was the G-Virus.
"We've gotta stop meeting like this!" Claire shouted, opening fire on William with her minigun, hitting him in a few exposed eyes as his main one was being protected by his teeth. "Hope you likes bullets 'cause I got a helluva lot more!" She added, tossing a grenade at William before shielding her face as the explosion rang through the train. Switching to acid rounds in her grenade launcher, she opened fire. The acid splashed over Williams 'face' but seemed to make him only scream as his body inched ever closer. "For fuck sake!" Claire exclaimed, firing another round. "How the hell are you still kicking'?" Her southern dialect was really shining through, something that didn't happen unless she was stressed or pissed, and she was both.
Switching back to her minigun, she opened fire on his teeth, hoping to chip away at them enough to gain entrance to his main eye. "Like Chris likes to say, "Show no mercy!" Claire shouted in anger, tossing a grenade while holding the minigun with her hand and somehow her knee. She could somehow multitask with something like a minigun in hand. At that, William shot forward, its teeth retracting to reveal its disgusting yet large yellow eye. With a lot more ammo in her minigun thanks to the ammo crate, Claire fired away at the eye, causing a scream from William as he lashed out and upwards. Two of his arms shot up, tearing away the roof of the car while a third swung at Claire. Fortunately for her though, the arm never landed as she felt herself be pulled back by an invisible force, slamming directly into Leon as the two fell onto the floor. "Claire!" Sherry exclaimed, rushing to Claire's side as both she and Leon groaned in pain.
The train continued to twist and lurch as William shifted from left to right, sending all three into walls as they were sent to either side of the car. "Leon! Lose the car!" A deep voice shouted. Claire looked up to find...Harry. But he wasn't the Harry he had been up in the lab. This Harry was giant, with spikes protruding from his spine, giant spikes for fingernails, large teeth that fit his expanded jaw, black eyes with yellow iris', and it seemed his entire suit had been torn to shreds. He now only stood in a large piece of cloth that covered his mid-section, with his legs, feet, and torso exposed. He had mutated like Leon had said, but it seemed he was still there with them somehow. "Do it now!" Harry shouted, launching forward as he landed in front of William, who let out a roar as he tried to eat Harry to no avail.
Leon rushed forward, pulling apart the plastic piece above the car connection panel. The piece went flying back, with Harry catching with it with a tendril as it shot into his hand. He jammed it into William's eye, before pulling back his right hand. His claws seemed to sharpen as he slammed them into William's eye, causing the monster to let out a blood-curling scream as yellow goo began to spout out from the wound. Leon kicked the small lever that kept the cars connected, breaking it off as the car connection suddenly loosened. The back car holding William and Harry suddenly began to slow down, drifting back as it completely separated. All Claire saw before fire consumed the car was William's eyes turning to a slit as he watched them, and a bright green light that consumed the entire car before it burst into flames, exploding with fiery.
"What the hell is that?!" Leon exclaimed, motioning to the fire. There, they could see an eye, swimming around in the air before disappearing. Claire fell down into a seated position, breathing heavily as she watched the fire get more distant.
"He's gone," Claire breathed, unsure of how to process that as Leon rested his head against the wall.
"Claire," Sherry called out. Claire looked up at the girl, who was looking down the car back towards the front. There, the door stood open. Harry Potter stumbled into the car, having returned to his normal appearance, falling onto his knees as Sherry rushed forward. Claire shot to her feet, moving forward as well as Leon followed. Harry accepted Sherry's hug, holding the girl as his eyes fell on Claire herself. He smiled at her appearance, before letting out a cough. Blood poured out of his mouth as he pushed Sherry away into Leon.
"What's wrong?" Claire asked, kneeling down beside him to find a large whole going right through his abdomen, letting her see through him to the floor. "Jesus..." She had to cover her mouth from vomiting at the sight, but she couldn't look away. Leon had spun Sherry away, burying her head into his chest as his eyes widened at the sight of Harry. "What happened?" Claire questioned, placing a hand on his knee.
"Son of a bitch couldn't just die without getting the last hit in," Harry replied with a chuckle, followed by a cough as more blood fell out of his mouth and onto his chest. If Claire was crazy, she might stare at his toned and muscular torso, but she had other things to worry about, like him dying. At their expressions, Harry sighed, pulling himself up as he leaned back against the crate. "Don't worry about me guys. I'll be fine," Harry spoke, appearing a bit dazed as his eyelids began to slowly close. Claire felt herself get teary eyed as she looked up at Leon, who shook his head. He didn't know what to do.
"I...is there anything we can get to help you? Something you have that can fix this?" Leon asked.
"Well...if you could repair the Ley Lines past their current health, that could do the trick," Harry replied with a smile, though it was obvious he was in a lot of pain. At their expressions, Harry coughed, before laughing, which seemed to only make him hurt worse. "I'm kidding. As...you can see. I'm already healing. I *cough* just need something to ease the pain, and maybe a pick-me-up. Hey Leon...can you do me a favor and head over to my trunk over there?" Harry asked, his bloodied hand motioning to the large trunk that Claire had used to get Sherry her clothes. Leon nodded, guiding Sherry over to the trunk as he tried to ensure she didn't see Harry in the current state that he was in.
"Close it...ask for a Pepperup Potion, and open it again. Once you've done that, open it again *cough* grab the potion, and then repeat the process and ask for a wand," Harry explained.
"You have...wands?" Claire asked.
"I, uh...kept them. Ran into some people in my time," Harry replied. Claire gave him a sad smile. She knew what he meant. He had run into them while working with Umbrella, and had killed them, no doubt keeping their...wands as some sort of keepsake. "I plan to bury them when I get the chance," Harry added as Leon moved to Harry's side, holding out a dozen wands and a clear bottle labeled 'Pepper'. "Thanks, Leon," Harry spoke, grabbing the wands and potion as Leon nodded, getting back to his feet as Harry dropped all but one wand.
Uncapping the bottle, Harry downed it all in one gulp, letting out a disgusted sound as the same feeling appeared on his face. After a moment, he stood up straighter, before pointing the wand he had kept in hand at the slightly smaller hole in his abdomen. "Torpere" He cast. It didn't appear to do anything. After another moment, Harry took another deep breath and closed his eyes. His fists curled into balls as his skin began to turn orange. The orange spread down his neck, and down his torso, circling the hole as it began to pulse inwards. Claire watched as his intestines, spine, and skin began to heal. It seemed he had used some form of magic to help himself stand, walk, and hold himself upright, but that had worn off when he fell back against the crate.
After a minute of silence and baited breath, the wound was completely healed. Harry opened his eyes, and Claire backed away. They were completely black, and they were staring directly at her. Harry let out a gasp, his eyes returning to emerald green as he looked around. "Damn that pepper-up potion was strong," He spoke. Harry jumped to his feet, seemingly very energetic as he looked around. He seemed to twitch slightly, before smiling and looking towards them. "Sorry about that. Damn monster couldn't just take the curse without stabbing me right through the middle. Had to finish him off with Fiendfyre after he only partially died," Harry explained as he looked down at himself. Noticing the fact that Claire was now indeed staring, he waved his wand. Claire looked away a little red in the face, looking back to find that he was back in his repaired grey and red ensemble. "I see you changed outfits," Harry spoke, motioning to both Claire and Sherry.
"Yeah...had a bit too much blood and virus on me for comfort. And Sherry needed a change of clothes," Claire replied with a smile.
"It was a bit difficult getting both of your dimensions, but I managed to figure it out," Harry said, looking between Claire and Leon. He turned to Leon, who had peered into is pouch. "I'm sorry about Ada, Leon. I lost myself a bit and...well. You know what happened," Leon nodded in understanding. Claire looked between the two, before receiving a look from Harry that told her 'I'll explain later'. Claire gave him a nod, and turned to the front of train. Sherry had turned back to Harry when the coast was clear, and had pulled him into a bear hug that the wizard returned with a smile.
"So, where is this going?" Leon asked.
"About six miles west of the city. It'll take an hour or two to get there, but when we do, I'm going to set up a shelter for survivors," Harry replied.
"What other survivors?" Claire questioned.
"Once I'm sure you three are safe, I'm heading back to the city for Jill. And...because I got this," He pulled out his hand from his cloak, revealing a vial filled with pink liquid.
"Is that -"
"T-Virus vaccine. Forget to get it while in the facility. I can make more in the NEST facility beneath the Hospital, but if I can get this through the city...there's a chance I can save it," Harry explained. Claire smiled, and Leon raised an eyebrow. "I've got a day to figure out the details, but once I'm sure Jill and the team are safe and Nemesis is killed, I can save the city and we can all start over..." He seemed to lose a bit of hope at his own words, but he smiled nonetheless, and turned to the rest of them. "So yeah...that's the plan,"
"You're not going back in there alone," Leon spoke.
"And risk getting you two killed. Nope, not risking it. Besides, someone has to be there to protected Sherry. Not that you need protecting, I'm sure your a badass on your own," Harry told Sherry who smiled at the complement as Harry returned it. He shook his head, returning to the subject at hand. "But no. Not happening. I plan to just get in, get Jill, develop another cure just in case, and see if I can save the city. If not, I'm going to collect as many survivors as I can, and get us to the safe house I'll be making tonight," Harry explained.
"At least let one of us go with you," Claire offered. Harry visibly twitched at this, and shook his head.
"I, uh...need a minute to myself," He said, separating himself from Sherry as he stepped into the other car. Claire exchanged a brief look with Leon, before moving to follow him. She stepped into the other car, and found Harry hunched over, his hands on a crate as he looked down at the floor. He was mumbling to himself, something about 'Snape' and a 'Stone'. He appeared to be having an episode, which was odd seeing as he had been completely fine the moment before. Not until she had given him the conundrum of picking between Leon and her. "I'm fine, Hermione," Harry spoke standing up as he turned to face her. His eyes went wide as he caught himself, his eyes flashing black as he turned away. "I'm sorry, uh...just misspoke,"
"Are you ok?" Claire asked, stepping to his side. She placed a hand on his shoulder, something that made him twitch as his right hand began to anxiously scratch the back of his neck.
"Yeah, of course. I'm just...you know...the pepper-up potion -"
"Don't lie, Harry. Is something going on with you? Like with...the virus?" Claire asked. Harry twitched again, the scratching on his neck speeding up as he dug even harder. His skin had turned red from the scratching, and Claire was worried he was going to tear his skin. He shook his head, a chuckle escaping his lips as he let his foot wiggle a bit. "No...no...no, no, no...no...no...no, no, no...no. I'm fine, Claire. Really. Why wouldn't I be? I'm just fine, all hunky-dory. Hell, I think I can take on Nemesis right now. I should go find him shouldn't I? After that I can go pay Spencer a visit. See if I can't turn him inside out. Watch as his brain flips inside out and explodes. Oh, that would be fun to see. Maybe I can do the same to HUNK and Tango. After all, those fuckers turned me into this!" Harry shouted. The walls of the train crunched, shaking as Claire looked around. "No...no...no...I'm fine, Claire. Just thinking of how to get back to my old life. My dead parents. My probably dead friends. My dead godfather. Maybe I can kill Voldemort. After all, I'm as much of a monster as he was, if not more! Hey! If I find him, I can kill him over...and over...and over. He would keep coming back, and would have to suffer as I pull out his followers' tongues before shoving my hand through their lungs. Watch them bleed out and gasp for air as they wriggle on the floor. Oh, I can't wait to see the look in Bellatrix's eyes when I slaughter her family, her precious dark lord for what she did to Sirius,"
"Harry, you need to stop," Leon had entered the room during Harry's rant.
"I know! Stop being a downer Harry! At least you're alive! At least you get to live when all those people in that city back there are getting eaten and torn apart by their family! Stop being angry because your life was destined to turn to shit before even being born! All because of some stupid prophecy that might not...even be talking about me!" He was now digging into the back of his neck, drawing blood as Claire took a step back. Leon had a hand on his holster, ready to use his gun if need be. "My family was lucky enough to die in a second. No pain as their souls left their bodies. Me? I was tortured. Broken down and eaten away at by my relatives...my friends...my family...and then Umbrella. Those fuckers are gonna feel pain when I get my hands on them,"
Blood was pouring out of him now as he scratched and scratched. Claire had a hand over her mouth once more to stop herself from puking or crying, she wasn't sure, and Leon's face was blank. "God it hurts! Just knowing that Bellatrix is having the time of her life with her Master. Dining with those other pureblood pussies who think their better than the common 'mudblood'. I can't wait to tear out her spine and beat her with it! Imagine all the pain I can cause that would only be a fraction to the pain she's caused others! I mean, look at Neville's parents! Tortured until they'd completely lost their minds, unable to recognize their own goddamn son, all because of that stupid FUCKING prophecy!" The walls were beginning to get pulled in. Leon had drawn his gun, aiming at Harry as Claire backed away into the corner. Harry's neck was torn to shreds, his spine visible as he continued to scratch deeper and deeper.
"I mean, why would I - the Boy-Who-Lived - be able to get revenge? I'm stuck in this shit-hole universe with no way out! Sirius is lost somewhere or probably dead! No doubt others who experienced the Veil are here to! I mean, if you could, everyone that exists here would have gone there! Way more people, more communities. Did you know that there were ninety million people like me back home? Here, there only ninety-thousand. And a large portion of that have been chipped away at by wars, civil wars, and fucking Umbrella. The goddamn nerve of those people, kidnapping kids to use as goddamn weapons. Someone needs to send a nuke to their goddamn front doors. If not, I'll be paying them a visit!"
Claire was about to tell him to stop, but saw something. In the hole in the back of his neck, Claire could make out his spin and brain-stem. Connected to both - but not fully visible - was an orange slug clinging to his spine. He was trying to pull it out. Was it making him say these things? Making him angry? "Merlin it hurts!" Harry exclaimed, tearing away at himself as he grabbed the slug. It tried to bite his fingers, but it seemed Harry didn't care. He yanked it off his spine, pulling it out of his neck before throwing it into the floor. He stomped on it, watching it explode in a puddle of yellow goo as he pulled out his wand. Green light filled the room as he fired two lines of green at the deceased slug. After a minute, his neck was healed, and Harry was breathing heavily. "Merlin that hurt," Harry spoke.
"Are you...back to normal?" Claire asked, clearly worried.
"Yeah...I think so," Harry replied, feeling the back of his neck as he sighed. "The parasite. NE-a. One of the three virus' I was infected with,"
"What was it doing?" Claire questioned.
"Controlling him," Leon said. "Like it did on the platform. You sent Ada flying but saved her. Which one was the parasite?"
"The banishing was all the parasite. It elevated my anger from the fight with William and being shot. It didn't help that she shocked it with that device of hers. But...I couldn't let her fall. So I pushed the parasite aside and saved her. But that was when I started mutating," Harry explained. "I guess the parasite saw the best opportunity to take over was right now. I'm exhausted - even more so now after having casted three killing curses - and I was just critically injured and reminded of my past. I was lucky that Umbrella had gotten their hands on a master in Occlumency to teach me the craft. Probably the only thing that kept me from killing someone," Harry explained, shaking his head as he rubbed his forehead. "So...anyone want something to eat?"
