POV: Harry Potter | November 2nd, 1998

Harry Potter stepped out of City Hall, brushing some dust off of the shoulder of his suit as he stepped onto Main Street. At his sides were Claire and Jill, who had both stuffed their respective handguns in the back of their pants, ready to use them if a fight broke out. Harry himself was ready as he stepped up to the head jeep. There, he was met with a general, a few lieutenants, and a private. The general hopped out of the jeep, stepping forward as his entourage followed. Harry held out his hand, shaking hands with the General, who spoke. "I must tell you, it took quite an effort to get through that barrier of yours. But we were lucky enough to get some help from someone like you," The general motioned towards the back of the jeep. There, a hooded figure sat. Harry could make out the shape of a man beneath the robes and frowned. The man raised his left hand, waving it before dropping it lazily.

"So...you know who I am?" Harry asked.

"Harrison Potter. Lucky for you you're a Lord, or else you would be in handcuffs faster than I could say zombie," The general replied. "You've been giving the entire U.S a shitty time trying to understand what it is that happened here, and how you've been recovering since what happened last month. It took him coming to us to get past that barrier of yours,"

"Well, it explains why I wasn't notified of your arrival. I wasn't aware full-on bypassing wards was possible," Harry said.

"Well, kid, when you're as experienced as I am...anything's possible," The hooded figure spoke. There were no signs of youth in the man's voice. Harry didn't recognize it, dismissing his thoughts that it was perhaps Sirius trying to reach him. Harry shook his head, turning back to the General. His eyes shined with determination as he went into business mode. "The facilities below the city are gone. Self-destructed during the outbreak. What was left was destroyed by me and filled in with dirt to ensure the city didn't collapse due to the holes in the foundation of the city. Anything else is being rebuilt and remodeled. The city's come a long way in the past month, and I don't plan on letting it fall so soon,"

"Don't worry kid, we're not here to suppress you or anything. We're here to assist in rebuilding," The General spoke. "But we have come here for two other reasons. We came here for not only you but for her," The General pointed down the street. There, Leon stood with Sherry. They were moving up the street towards them.

"Hell no. You're not taking her," Claire said.

"Says who?"

"Say's me," Harry spoke up.

"Watch it, son," The General warned.

"I'm no son, General," Harry bit back. "Watch it. This city is under my protection, as are its citizens. And Sherry is one of them. If you want her, you and your men will have to go through me, and I don't do kindly with governments. They tend to piss me off," The General raised an eyebrow, but shook his head. He turned to his first lieutenant, pulling a file from his bag before opening it. After a few moments of silence, Leon and Sherry reached them just as the General spoke. "Due to scans done by our friend here -" The General motioned to the hooded figure. "- we believe that Ms. Birkin here holds traces of the G-Virus within her blood,"

"Bullshit. I've scanned her myself and found nothing. And she hasn't shown symptoms," Harry replied.

"Well kid, I've gotten better at magic in my time. In a few years, you'll get there," The hooded figure spoke.

"I don't want to hear anything from you. We both know how you got here," Harry bit out.

"And I know how you got here. An innocent child clinging to his last chance at a family. Idiotically jumping through the Veil itself to save someone he didn't know he'd lost so many years before. Sirius...Orion...Black," The figure laughed as Harry clenched his fists. The wind picked up on the street, and it took Claire grabbing hold of his wrist for him not to explode on the man. "I knew his father. Orion. Decent man, all things considered but was kind of a dick. I was glad to hear that he died. One of the last things I heard of before those assholes at the Ministry pushed me through,"

"So...what did you do to get pushed through? Did you kill a kid? Cast an Unforgivable?" Harry asked, the wind picking up even more.

"Massacred a family. Father owed me some money and failed to deliver. Figured I'd visit him. Never intended to kill him, but I had a lot more fun that night than I'd planned," The man replied.

"There's a reason they only send monsters through," Harry spoke.

"Ah...don't be like that, kid. Name-calling is never nice. If anything, you were close to a real monster for almost a year, and you let him train you," The man told him.

"Remus is a kind man. He wouldn't hurt a fly unless he had to," Harry defended.

"Sure. I'm sure he thought that when he was tearing Black up in the grass," The man told him.

"I have no idea what you two are talking about, but we don't have time for this. The girl's coming with us. You would to if you didn't have diplomatic immunity, but we're fine with taking the girl," The General told him.

"You aren't taking her," Jill told the man.

"We have to take her. We've received orders from the President himself to retrieve a G-Virus sample. The samples in the underground facility are gone now with the facility, and she holds the only living trace," The General told the four.

Four Privates rushed forward, moving to grab Sherry only for Leon to speak. "Don't take her. We'll do anything,"

"Leon, don't," Harry warned.

"You suggesting we take you instead, Rookie?" The General asked.

"Yeah...just don't take her," Leon replied.

"Leon, don't," Harry warned once more.

"If it keeps her from them, then I'm willing to do it," Leon told the wizard. The General seemed quiet for a few moments, before shaking his head. He motioned to Leon, and the four Privates stepped forward. They grabbed Leon, pulling him towards the back jeep. "Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. Just make assured they don't get hold of her," The rookie told Harry, who gave him a firm nod as the wind grew stronger. Claire's hand slipped down to his, grabbing his hand in hers as she whispered for him to calm down. He couldn't. This day had gone so far from what he had expected. A magical was partnered with the military, the President himself wanted Sherry, Leon was giving himself up to them as a weapon, and Harry could do nothing unless he wanted the brunt of the U.S Army on his back.

Harry, Claire, Jill, and Sherry watched Leon get placed into the back of the jeep, which then spun around and took off down the street. Leon smiled, waving to them before he left their view. After a minute of watching him go, the General shook his head. "Well then. I suppose we should get going," Harry expected him to get into the jeep and leave, but was caught off guard when something slammed into his neck.

"What the hell?!" Claire shouted, pulling out her gun only for her to be shot in the shoulder with a small dart. Jill didn't even get the chance to pull out her gun before she too got a dart to the neck. Harry yanked his out, growling as the virus tried to take over. Two new soldiers rushed forward as Harry's eyes began to fog over. They grabbed Sherry, who let out a scream as Harry tried to reach for her. Three more darts slammed into his chest as he was sent flying backward by a gust of wind, slamming him into the wall behind him as his hands turned orange. "Let her go!" He screamed, his eyes flashing black as he let out a dark growl. All of the soldiers turned their guns on him as Sherry was led away, but the General held up his hands.

"Let him turn. See if this town lets him stay Mayor if he tears his little girlfriends apart. We've got the package, so let's roll," The General climbed into the passenger side of his jeep, motioning back as the jeep and the two behind it began to back away. They all performed a U-turn, before speeding off out of the city. Meanwhile, Harry was grabbing hold of his head, trying to breathe as he felt himself enter his first form. He was able to hold his mind the last few times because he had a goal. Protect his friends and kill Nemesis. But now, all he had to do was let loose, and he was afraid. This was what Remus must have felt. Losing control of your mind until there was nothing to do.

Channeling all of his strength, Harry used the last of his willpower to apparate away, not trusting himself to remain beside Claire and Jill. The last of his vision passed as he fell to the ground. The last thing he could see was what looked like a werewolf growling down at him. Kind of poetic. The last thing he saw before becoming the equivalent of a werewolf...was a werewolf.
