Percy POV
The war is finally over. Or it finished a few weeks ago in fact and after this war, I am a changed person, or rather Demigod. Nightmares plague me every night, every time I fall into the realm of Morpheus, meaning I get very little sleep, maybe even less than Nico.
That still doesn't stop me from looking on the bright side of life, and as I have just turned 17 I wish to tie the knot with Annabeth. She is my life, even more than before Tar- Tar- the Pit. We both can't sleep without screaming in terror at what we saw. Only very select people know, and the ones that do include the members of the Argo II, Malcolm and Chiron. Chiron only agreed, if we did no funny business, in which we have complied with so. Malcolm also knows because one night he woke up and found that Annabeth wasn't there so went to my cabin to tell me, and found the two of us sleeping together.
Dam stupid ADHD. Where was I? Oh yes, I have already gotten the ring, and have already gotten the blessing of Athena, Mom and Annabeth's Dad. I got Athena's blessing from falling into the Pit for her and protecting her. I know that she still doesn't like me, but our relationship is getting better. I would have asked Leo, but he is currently Gods know where with Calypso. I have also have it engraved saying Κάτι Μόνιμο (Sorry that it is in current Greek I don't know Ancient Greek and this is what I have got off of Google Translate) The ring is simple and has two diamonds: One grey and one sea green. Anyway, I have gotten the ring and am just about to ask Annabeth to meet me at the beach after dinner as I have just seen her.
"Annabeth!" I yell as Annabeth walks away from me.
"Yes, Seaweed Brain" She replies
"I have got something to show you at the beach after dinner, do you wanna join?" I ask
"Sure, I have to go now to teach the new kids how to read Greek. See you later."
"See you later, Wise Girl."
- TIME SKIP TO AFTER DINNER -
As we hastily make our way down to the beach, I slow down slightly to double check that I have the ring and to make sure that I am ready.
"Now that we are at the beach, what is it you wanted to show me?" She asks
"Now this is a surprise, and you therefore need to cover your eyes." I reply plainly trying to hide my worry.
"You know how I hate surprises" She answers, however reluctantly covers her eyes with her hands.
I bend down on one knee with the ring out for her to see and simply say "Open up."
Annabeth uncovers her eyes and then covers her mouth as her eyes brim with tears.
"Annabeth, I have had a crush on you since I first saw you when we were 12. Then we became best friends over our quest. I then thought that I lost you when you were taken when we were collecting Nico from that school. At that moment I knew that I definitely wanted to date you and hope that we get to something more. Then we started dating after the Second Titan War, and those 4 months with you were brilliant until Hera decided that I needed a long nap and when I woke up with virtually no memories other than you. Then when we fell into Tar- the Pit, I knew that we would make it out alive because we had each other. Now after the Second Giant War I am asking you this question: Will you marry me?" I ramble on and ask.
She nods vigorously, and I let out a long breath as a sigh of relief. Then we hear a cheer from the forest as the campers celebrate and run towards us as I slip the ring onto her finger. "I thought, no hoped, that we would be able to do this on our own. Is that too much to ask for?" I complain as we are hoisted onto the shoulders of the campers
"Yes, it is too much to ask for. To the lakes!" Clarisse yells while laughing.
When we reach the lakes, we are tossed in and I create an air bubble to breathe. Our friends kept waiting for us to come up, but hey - when you're the son of Poseidon, you don't have to hurry. And it was the bust underwater kiss to rival the one after the Second Titan War.
