Part 96: Valkyrie armor
Long ago before the battle with the eye of the midnight sun and the day Asta and Noelle joined the black bulls. The royal house Silva had gone through a loss when Acier Silva passed away after Noelle was born. Later on as Noelle grew older her other siblings were rude to her. At meal times when Solid was rude to her.
Noelle had gone to eat when her plate was suddenly flung away, "What did I tell you about eating before I did," he said while Noelle looked sad.
But one day Solid went too far when he ruined her stuffed rabbit. "Please brother give it back," she said with tears in her eyes.
"If you want it back then do something about it, or if you can control your magic to do anything," he said smiling while Noelle cried. "Well its ruined now so I don't see the point," Solid said looking bored before tossing the torn stuffed rabbit away.
Noelle quickly picked it up and ran as fast as she could out of the castle. "It's not fair, Im trying my best but I keep messing up," she thought closing her eyes. Remembering how she kept messing up trying to fire just one spell.
"And Nozel wont even to listen to what I have to say," she thought before running further away. Eventually she found herself far away in a forest and its there she would meet the person who would help her get better.
A boy suddenly showed up and she almost attacked him. After introducing himself as Asta she told him her name as well. "Noelle, that's a nice name," he had told her smiling. He didn't judge her for how her magic worked but instead she could be powerful if she just practiced.
Later on Nozel had found her and brought her home. "You are not take off like that again, understood," he said.
"Yes Nozel," Noelle said holding the repaired stuffed rabbit close.
"Well look who made it back," Solid said before looking confused at the repairs done to the stuffed rabbit. "How did you get that fixed," he said looking annoyed.
"That's enough Solid," Nozel said looking serious, "Noelle you will go to your room now," he said.
Noelle just nodded her head before walking to her room and holding her stuffed rabbit close. When she walked in she looked surprised to see that her mirror had been broken.
"I know it must be tough to look at your face," Nebra said smiling, "Your lucky to have a kind sister like me," she said before leaving the room.
Noelle looked sad but then looked at the stuffed rabbit that Asta had fixed for her, "No I must stay strong and practice," she thought.
Over the next few years Noelle continued to practice her magic while making trips to town hoping to see Asta, but she never did. But then on the day before the magic knights entrance exam Noelle was looking at the painting of her mother when her older siblings walked into the room.
"You know I heard shes still practicing outside with a target but she ends up missing most of the time," Solid said smiling.
"You know I see her sometimes coming drenched, so at least shes good for something," Nebra said smiling.
"Yeah failing," Solid said as the two of them laughed while Nozel who was standing between them looked calm.
Noelle looked at them with a sad look on her face before looking back at the painting. When Nozel was just about to leave he suddenly stopped walking, "Noelle the magic knights squad you will be assigned to has been chosen," he said making her look surprised.
"Wait what?" She asked.
"The black bulls," Nozel said.
"The black bulls, but don't they only focus on hunting boars out in the sticks," Nebra said.
"Sounds like its perfect for you Noelle," said Solid as he and Nebra laughed before walking away.
"But I," Noelle said but Nozel didn't listen and just walked away. Noelle looked down before looking back at the painting of her mother. Then much later In the future she was now back home trying to defend her family from a controlled member of the golden dawn.
"You can try all you want, but your attacks wont reach me," she said.
"We will see," Nozel said shooting pieces of mercury at the controlled magic knight. But the pieces fell apart making him look surprised. Nozel then looked serious as more compass points appeared shooting towards them. He blocked the ones heading for him but then noticed ones heading for Solid and Nebra. He blocked them while trying to make a cover.
"Even with all my power all I can do is mostly defend," Nozel thought before groaning in pain as he held a hand over his wounded shoulder.
Noelle then held up her wand, "Water creation magic, sea dragons lair," she said trying to shield Solid and Nebra. But she then looked surprised when only a few splashes of water shot up around her feet.
"Sorry but while your in this room any spell your try to make will be under my control," the golden dawn member said as more compass points appeared. "Why bother wasting your magic when your going to lose," she said before firing. Another one stabbed into Nozels shoulder as he blocked more heading for Solid and Nebra.
One of them almost reaching Solid as it almost pushed through the mercury. "If we cant make any spells then what do we do, I'm still not the best at creation magic," Noelle thought before remembering something.
"But what if I was out of control," she thought remembering the state she was in the day Asta got his memories back. Noelle then pointed both of her hands forward, "Nozel I'm gonna need some help with this," she said looking serious.
Nozel looked confused before nodding and began to shield her and his siblings in a mercury dome, "What are they doing," she said. But Noelles hands were outside Nozels mercury magic as she shot out a large amount of water that began to flood the room.
The golden dawn member look surprised as she fell into water and tried to hold her breath. "The compass chooses the way magic flows, I better stop it so I don't get taken out by my own spell," she thought. Then as she surfaced she stopped the spell and the water crashed through the windows. Flowing outside.
"So what now," she said smiling. But under the rest of the water still inside spears of mercury shot up from the dome and hit the controlled golden dawn member. "No, impossible," she said before falling to the ground. Her body now being covered in Nozels magic.
The dome then fell apart. "I expect this from Nozel, but from Noelle," Nebra said sounding weak from her injury.
"They won," Solid said as Nozel looked at the damage Noelles magic had caused.
"Looks like we won, sorry if it was a bit out of control," said Noelle smiling.
"Yes, the way you fought wasn't like the way a royal would," said Nozel calmly, "But it did get us victory," he said.
"I wanted to keep you away from the battlefield as much as I could, you look so much like our mother that I worried I would lose you too," he said making Noelle look surprised.
"I grew worried when you ran away that day, but I noticed you started to get a little stronger from it," Nozel said, "But I still tried to keep you away from battle and that's why I had you put in the black bulls," he said.
"But you still had to fight anyway and you've become much stronger because of it," Nozel said turning to face Noelle. "What im trying to say is, I'm sorry Noelle," he said.
"Did Nozel seriously just apologize to Noelle," Nebra said looking surprised while Solid just looked shocked.
"Thank you, Nozel," Noelle said smiling.
"Now," Nozel said before looking shocked as three compass points stabbed into him. Then as he fell to the ground the Wilfull compass room spell started up again. The room once again surrounded by green light.
"Nozel," Noelle said rushing over to her brother as the mercury holding the golden dawn member fell apart.
"You've really done it now," she said with her hair down and her glasses off. "This time ill finish you," she said looking angry as the spell got bigger. Destroying the walls of the room.
"Theres gotta be something I can do, he said I'd got stronger," Noelle thought looking serious. "I'm not giving up," she thought as her grimoire opened up. A new spell appearing on blank pages.
Her royal knights cloak flew off as she stood up. Her magic power surrounding her.
"Just what is happening," the golden dawn member said looking surprised by the power coming off Noelle. Mages with a lot of magic power don't have any need to train while some people who do train end up gaining more powerful spells. Though they can also acquire new spells if they were in situation that they needed it.
Royalty with their power didn't see any need to train but instead would be guarded by other mages. But Noelle with all her magic power had trained and had fought in many battles. Its thanks to this experience that she was able to reach this level.
Noelles body began to be covered in water armor. Two flaps coming out behind her. A crown forming on her head. Armor appeared on her legs and arms. A spiral lance formed around her wand and then she was covered with a chest plate.
"Water creation magic, Valkyrie armor," Noelle thought looking determined.
"No, how does a human have this much power," the golden dawn member said firing multiple compass points. But Noelle flew out of the way and started flying around the room dodging the compass points.
She then flew at the golden dawn member who jumped out of the way just in time. She landed on a flying point as she watched more head towards Noelle. But Noelle had started cutting through the ones in front of her with her water lance.
"Is she controlling the mana around her, but how," she thouhgt looking annoyed. "How is she dodging so easily, can she sense where Im firing from," she thought.
Noelle who was flying around smiled at the feeling. "I never knew magic could make me feel so free," she thought.
"That form," Solid said looking surprised.
Nozel who was still conscious looked at Noelle still flying around. She looked almost exactly their mother in that armor. "The dancing princess of the battlefield," he thought.
Noelle flew right at the golden dawn member again, "Willfull compass," she said as Noelles lance hit a large compass. She looked surprised as her armor looked like it was starting to come off.
"Your mine now you royal brat," she said looking angry. But then she looked surprised as the compass began to go backwards.
"Any mana that touches this armor is under my control," Noelle said looking serious as she began to push through the compass. "This is over," she said breaking through and hitting the golden dawn member.
The spell surrounding the room vanished and the golden dawn member fell to the ground unconcious with a surprised look on her face.
