When his Servant had asked for a night on the town, Shirou had not expected this.
"I'm stiiiiill in a dreeeaaaam!" Astolfo sung into the microphone. "Snake Eaaateeeeer!"
Shirou had clapped his hands over his ears long ago because the singing had been so loud (though not all that bad, he had to admit). Karaoke rooms were designed to amplify and reflect sound, a fact he was none too happy about at this moment. Rin was similarly covering her ears, and they exchanged a small glance of commiseration.
The song slowly dialed down and Astolfo spun around happily.
"That was awesome! You guys are so lucky to have stuff like this!"
"Hey, how did you know what the song was?" Rin asked as she put her hands down again.
"Oh, I just figured it out as it went." Astolfo's bright grin lit up the dark room. "It was fun! Now, which one of you two are going next?"
Shirou looked to the side.
"I can't sing," he said at the same time as Rin, after which they turned and stared at each other in an uncomfortable silence.
"Sure you can!" Astolfo cared not for their protests, and Shirou's stomach dropped as his Servant grabbed his arm and pulled him up. "Just pick something and sing!"
He looked at Rin once more, pleading for help, but she was examining her fingernails.
Traitor!
He scrolled through the machine, not recognizing a single piece he found, and ended up clicking the "random" button. The screen flashed a few times, and then the TV began playing. The instrumental felt... familiar?
