Prompt: "Tomoe Gozen and Illya teach Shirou how to play videogames" — Mune

"So... I press the stick left and then B?"

"Yeah, just like that!"

Tomoe had sacrificed her seat on the couch to Illya, but didn't mind, as she got to lay her head between Illya and Shirou. Plus, the floor was nice and cool.

"Oh, you died again," Illya said.

"Sorry!" Shirou winced. "I keep making the death counter go up."

"Shirou, it's not supposed to be easy," Tomoe said. "No mountain climber ever climbed Fuji-san on their first try. The game is meant to be challenging."

"Yeah, but—"

"The counter isn't meant to tell you how bad you are at the game," Illya interjected. "It says it on a loading screen hint: it tells you how much you've tried and how much you're learning."

"...yeah, guess so."

The little pixel figure flashed as it clutched onto the wall, before dashing right and jumping off a spring onto a piece of solid ground.

"Yeah, you did it!" Tomoe threw her arms up in celebration.

"It's not much, really..." Shirou muttered awkwardly.

"Shirou, every puzzle you solve is an achievement," she said, "because it means you're getting better. You just started playing, you're definitely not perfect. But you're trying and you are succeeding. Please, please don't devalue that. Every step forward is worth something."

He didn't respond for a few seconds. She looked up to see a small smile on his face.

"...okay."

Illya leaned over to hug him, and Tomoe patted his knee.

"You'll get better as long as you keep trying. Promise."
