Chapter 3

Albedo, Aura and Anzio were walking through a forest as the sun was nearing it's highest point. Anzio was humming a merry song as he listened to the chirping of birds and rustling of leaves as they walked. This was the first time he was in a real forest. It was an incredible feeling as he enjoyed the sounds and smells of nature around him. Blue Planet-sensei I hope you're here somewhere in this world. Anzio was snapped out of his thoughts when someone messaged him.

[Message]

(My lord forgive me if I am interrupting something important but the eight edge assasins and shadow demons have spotted some knights approaching the village.) The voice of Demiurge could be heard.

(Continue monitoring them Demiurge if they prove to be hostile towards the villagers I will intervene.) Anzio decided. Thoose knights might just be collecting taxes. If they are there just to do that it would be a bad move to antagonize an entire country.

(My lord the knights have just entered the village and have began massacring villagers.) Demiurge reported swiftly.

(Seems like they aren't just tax collectors. We'll go and deal with them. Monitor us with the mirror of remote viewing and be ready to send Cocytus and Shalltear if we run into a challenging opponent.) Anzio ordered.

(I hear and obey my Lord) Demiurge replied and ended the message.

„Aura, you head back to Nazarick. Albedo go and get into your battle gear then join up with me. I plan to defend this village." Anzio looked at them then put a mask on. One half was white with a red gem where his eye should be and the other half was black with a green gem where his eye should be. I should not show my face yet just in case.

„My lord but you will be without protection while I am gearing up !" Albedo protested.

„The village is surrounded by shadow demons and eight edge assasins. Now please get moving !" Anzio ordered and then hurried towards the village.

[Fly]

Anzio cast the spell deciding he won't reveal his wings to any of the villagers or knights. He looked around noticing many villagers running around being chased by knights while some were bunched together near the village square. He then noticed two young girls running away from two knights. He was the girl trip as one of the knights slashed her back. The sight of this infuriated Anzio.

[Greater Teleportation]

Anzio teleported right in front of the knight which was about to bring his sword down and kill the older of the two village girls. Anzio appeared just in time and grabbed the knight's sword snapping it in half.

„W-who the hell are you ?" The knight cried in surprise and shock as his sword was snapped into two by this mysterious man.

[Starfire]

Anzio cast a fire spell of the 10th tier at the knight in front of him. A small ball of white light radiating with unprecedented energy made it's way to the knight and as soon as it touched his armor he was engulfed in white flames untill not even dust remained.

Anzio smirked and looked at the other knight who was scared out of his mind. He had never seen a fire spell where not even dust of the victim's corpse remained. He looked at Anzio and then began running.

„You have no problem with chasing women and children but as soon as you meet someone more powerfull you are just a coward ?" Anzio sighed

[Dragon lightning]

Anzio cast a spell of the fifth tier this time and as a magic circle appeared in his hand a trail of dragon shaped lightning snaked around his hand and propelled itself at the target with immense speed. The lightning spell killed the knight without a problem and just a burnt corpse remained.

„Dying from fifth tier magic ? You really were pathetic."

[Summon mid tier demon – Infernal Knight]

Anzio cast a summoning spell which would summon a level 50 Infernal Knight but unlike in Yggdrasil the summoning flames engulfed the body of the knight Anzio had killed with his lightning spell just moments earlier. Fires surrounded the corpse and it looked as if a portal leading straight to hell would open. The corpse disappeared and in it's place appeared a tall muscular demon with reddish skin and dark red eyes. He wore dark crimson armor and a red cape and two long massive horns were portruding from holes in his golden helmet. The demon knelt when he gazed upon Anzio and spoke.

„Thank you for your generous sacrifice your highness. I am grateful to have been summoned by someone as mighty as yourself. How may I assist you ?" The demon spoke with a deep and mighty voice. Anzio was confused for a moment as he looked at the knight. Oh maybe because I have some levels in the Prince of Hell class he sees me as demonic royalty. Anzio concluded.

„Go and kill the knights attacking this village. Do not harm any villagers." Anzio commanded

„I hear and obey !" The Infernal Knight bowed and ran to the village.

Anzio took a deep breath and looked at the two girls which were holdin each other trembling in fear. He noticed a deep gash on the older ones back. He took a minor healing potion from his inventory and crouched down handing it to the older girl.

„Drink this." He spoke in a kind tone but due to his mask it came out more as a commanding tone.

„I-is that blood ? I'll drink it but my sister-„ The older girl spoke but was interrupted by the younger of the pair as she began pulling at her hand.

„Sis don't !" She yelled.

Anzio was standing there unsure what to do. Didn't they trust him ? Anzio hadn't noticed a gate had opened behind him and Albedo had stepped through.

„How dare you reject a gift of the Supreme One !" Albedo roared. „You lower life forms !" Albedo lifted her axe ready to execute them.

„Albedo stand down ! It's alright theese girls are just scared." Anzio tried to defuse the situation and Albedo did lower her axe.

„It's a healing potion it will help with the wound." Anzio spoke as the girl hesitantly took it and drank it. The wound instantly vanished and so did the pain as she looked at her back in disbelief.

„Have you heard of magic ?" Anzio asked

„Y-yes a friend of mine who is a pharmacist he sometimes visits this village he can cast magic." The older girl spoke.

„Well this is easy to explain then. I'm a magic caster. My name is Anzio of Ainz Ooal Gown." He introduced himself.

„I-I'm Enri Emmot and this is my sister Nemu. We are grateful for rescuing us !" Enri bowed down and Nemu did the same imitating her sister.

„It's alright. As a person to whom I looked up to used to say. 'Saving those in trouble is common sense.'" Anzio quoted what Touch-me always used to say.

[Anti-life cocoon]

[Wall of protection from arrows]

„I cast some protection magic on you. You two should be safe as long as you stay here." Anzio spoke and handed them two horns of the goblin general.

„If you blow it a small group of goblins will appear and obey your orders. Use it if you run into any more of the knights." Anzio smiled and left walking towards the village.

At the village the knights were about to start killing all of the villagers which were huddled up at the village square. Before their commander gave the order to kill the remaining villagers they were distracted by the sound of heavy foot steps and clinking of heavy armor plates. They turned towards the source of thoose sounds and gazed upon a 2.3 meter tall mountain of a man covered in crimson plates of armor.

„W-who the hell are you ?!" One of the knights spoke.

„I am an Infernal knight. By the will of the Supreme One I have been summoned here to slay all of you." The knight spoke with a deep rumbling voice as he grabbed a massive looking sword which was holstered on his back. The sword was shining a dark purple almost black in color and it looked so heavy it would take at least two people to pick it up but the one who called himself an 'Infernal Knight' was holding the weapon in one hand with ease.

„Wh-who is this Supreme One ? Are you talking about one of the 6 gods ?" One of the knights asked.

„No. I do not know of theese 6 so called gods you speak off." The demon spoke with mockery in his tone.

„I serve only the Supreme One. To him even your 6 are mere dust beneath his feet." The demon spoke then lunged at the closes knight slicing him clean in half.

The knights were shocked at the sight of their comrade get sliced in half with such ease but one of them still managed to say. „You dare mock the 6 Great Gods ?! Blasphemy. Kill this infidel at once!" One of the higher ranking knights ordered and as soon as thoose words left his mouth the Infernal Knight appeared in front of him and crushed his head.

The rest of the knights either charged him or were frozen in place too scared to move. Thoose that did attack were dispatched almost instantly as the crimson armor of the Infernal Knight turned even a darker shade as their blood splattered over it.

„That's enought Infernal Knight." A voice of authority spoke and the knight looked at the voice then bowed when he saw Anzio land down onto the ground the Infernal Knight knelt. „I hear and obey."

„Now. Since I am a merciful man I will allow you to flee in defeat as the cowards you are. But please do tell your superiors that this village is protected by Anzio of Ainz Ooal Gown ." He spoke in a commanding voice. Wow acting is so hard.. good thing I spent so much time with Ulbert-senpai.

The knights ran away without a second thought and Anzio looked at the villagers which were still huddled up looking at him eyes shining with relief but worry aswell.

„Please be at ease you are all now safe." Anzio tried to calm their suspicions but their gazes of unease kept growing. Hmm seems like they don't get much help for free huh.

„Ofcourse I haven't done it for free. I am new to this area and by the looks of it you will need all the money you have to repair your village so I am willing to accept some information as payment." Anzio spoke. I hope I wasn't too rude.. demanding payment after saving someone feels so wrong..

The villagers sighed in relief and two middle aged villagers approached him.

„Thank you for saving us Lord Anzio. I am the village chief and this here is my wife. Let's go inside so we can tell you what you want to know." The village chief spoke politely.

Anzio nodded but noticed his summon was kneeling down waiting for further instructions. Huh.. shouldn't have the summoned Infernal Knight disappeared by now ? „Uh just a second I need to speak with my servant." Anzio looked at the kneeling Infernal Knight. „You're a summon how come you are still here for so long ?" Anzio asked.

„My lord, thanks to the human corpse you provided as an offering I can stay in this mortal realm for as long as you need me." The infernal knight spoke.

„Hmm very well. Albedo notify Demiurge and Shalltear we have a new servant. Have Shalltear gate him to Nazarick and find him an area he can guard for now." Anzio decided then went to the village chiefs house.

Anzio was sitting beneath one oak tree right next to the village. The funerals of the killed villagers were carried out and Anzio was considering resurrecting them but decided it would draw way too much attention. Some village children gathered around him beaming with curiousity and they asked him lots of questions mostly where he was from or could he use any magic so he decided to show them some low tier magic spells and tricks which would usually entertain children. They looked at his magic in awe and admiration untill their parents had called them to go and eat or help with work. Now he was playing with a cat while Albedo stood guard a few feet away from him. Anzio tried to persuade her to relax but Albedo refused by talking about how Anzio is the last Supreme Being and how she couldn't relax around so many low life forms. Anzio knew she was too stubborn so he just kept playing with the cat. Wow cats are so fluffy. I never had one but they are just adorable. Anzio enjoyed petting the cat and the cat purring and leaning into every headpat Anzio gave her made it even better. Cats were almost extinct in the world of 2138. They couldn't survive outside due to the poisoned air and food for them was expensive so mostly rich people could afford to keep pets such as cats. Anzio and the cat were completely oblivious to Albedo's jealousy and envy. How could her master give such attention to a low life form and not to her..

„Hey Albedo wanna pet the cat with me ?" Anzio looked at her. He didn't sense her jealousy but he didn't want her to feel left out. In his eyes just standing next to someone as they were doing something else would feel awful.

Albedo was surprised at the sudden question but decided to give it a try. The village was surrounded by shadow demons and eight edge assasins so there should be no danger. She crouched down next to her Lord and looked at him.

„Now do be gentle. I know your strength stats are through the roof so you don't want to hurt the cat." Anzio instructed her and Albedo obeyed hovering her hand slowly above the cats head and patting it very gently like she had seen her Lord previously do. The cat leaned into her palm and purred. Albedo was surprised and looked at Anzio.

„Well done she seems to like you." Anzio giggled and Albedo nodded nervously.

„M-my Lord forgive me if I am being disrespectfull but why are you treating theese low life forms so nicely ?" Albedo asked.

„Well they didn't give me a reason to treat them any other way. They were gratefull., kind, hospitable, gave me some useful information. Why should I treat them differently ?" Anzio asked her.

„B-but my Lord they are low life forms. They shouldn't be even worthy of your presence ! And to be surrounded by those filthy children and do tricks to entertain them. Why would you still keep being so kind ?"

Anzio sighed. „Albedo I don't see them as low life forms. I won't punish you because of your way of thinking because you were created to feel that way. But I would appreciate it if you could try and view humans differently." Anzio spoke and decided to give her a small lesson. „You think that humans can't be usefull or cannot be powerfull. Is that correct ?" Anzio asked with no signs of anger in his voice.

„Yes my lord in my eyes they are just insects." Albedo confirmed.

„Theese humans at their current stage of development could be seen as such. But they have a lot of potential aswell. Even insects like ants can be fascinating to observe and interact with." Anzio spoke and Albedo nodded.

„I understand my lord ! You see them as potential tools which may be usefull to you plans !" Albedo spoke happines and admiration in her voice. I cannot comprehend the plans of my Lord just yet but if he says theese humans have potential he must have already formulated a plan ranging hundreds of years into the future. Oh what an amazing Lord we serve !

„Uh yeah something like that." Anzio sighed. Calling humans tools isn't exactly the way he would put it but he didn't want to lecture Albedo any further. Not at this point in time at least.

Anzio looked towards the village and noticed something was happening. Before he could approach them he was stopped by the sound of a message spell activating.

[Message]

(My Lord, shadow demons have spotted some knights on horseback heading towards this village. Judging by the conversatios the demons overheard they aren't hostile.) The voice of Demiurge spoke.

(Thank you Demiurge.) Anzio ended the message and made his way towards the village square followed by Albedo.

Soon the gallop of horses could be heard as the knights entered the village.

„I am the Head Royal Warrior of the Re-Estize Kingdom, Gazef Stronoff. I have been ordered by the king to defeat the knights which have been attacking nearby villages !" The one that introduced himself as Gazef spoke with a deep voice.

„The Head Royal warrior ?" The village chief spoke with admiration in his eyes.

„I am the chief of this village." The man introduced himself and Gazef nodded looking at the two mysterious people behind the village chief

„Who are theese two people behind you ?" Gazef asked. He didn't sound too rude but he was wary.

As the village chief was about to introduce them Anzio stopped him and decided to introduce himself.

„My name is Anzio of Ainz Ooal Gown. I am a magic caster. And this here is my bodyguard, Albedo. We saw this village being attacked so we decided to help them out."

Gazef got off his horse and bowed down to Anzio and Albedo shaking Anzio's hand. „Thank you. Mere words cannot express how grateful I am. I know that I have nothing to give you right now but allow me to offer you a reward on behalf of the king." Gazef smiled at him. It was clear that saving villagers meant a lot to him. Anzio admired that kind of man. Gazef somehow reminded him of Touch Me.

„Captain-dono ! We are being surrounded by an unknown group of 50 magic casters !" Just as one of the knights said that Demiurge messaged him notifying Anzio of the same thing.

„Hmm this will be interesting.." Anzio smirked. 50 magic casters was a proper way to meassure the strength of this worlds inhabitants

AN: Hey sorry it took so long to update. I already wrote this chapter and the battle against the Sunlight scripture but then the file got corrupted and it took a lot to get the motivation to write the exact same thing again.
