I Don't Own Yu-Gi-Oh

"Hey kid, are you going to actually do anything? I have others I need to test you know" I blinked to myself at those words, mostly because I had no idea what the hell was happening. I had just been sitting down in the hole that is Wikipedia when suddenly I was standing in front of a man with a weird, clunky device strapped to my arm. Needless to say, I think my blink was an understatement to my confusion. But if their is one thing I know how to do, it's play something off.

"Sorry lost in thought, it's been a moment since I used this thing" The man in front of me looked shocked, in the way like someone said something just incredibly stupid and you weren't sure if they were joking or not. It was insulting but I didn't really care to much as his minor stunned silence allowed me a moment to myself. Which was all I really needed to take a lot in as I looked around and analyze my surroundings.

So I think it can be said even with that moment, I was pretty surprised to see a massive, screw you, huge dragon across from me blasting apart what looked to be a pig like man with a battleaxe. Blinking again, because it was a thing to do, I just turned and looked back down at my arm again as I actually looked at the thing. It looked vaguely familiar...hell if I didn't know any better I'd say it was something straight out of yugi-...oh. Oh. Oh god damn it! Again!

At this point I didn't even really care about the man in front of me as I looked down, now far more interested in my body. Yep, looks about the same but somethings are clearly off. For one, I'm wearing a scarf, no idea why, but that was a side note to the fact that I was small. Well I say small, I can only assume I'm a teenager, and for that I'm probably a bit on the taller side. Doesn't change the fact that I'm use to being at least foot taller than my current height.

So that's a second check mark. Next I raised a hand up and felt around my head, mostly noting the glasses and my hair, which was shortish. Still longer than most guys at a bit before my shoulders, but then again I'm in an anime now, hair is subjective at best. Still, at least it hasn't gone crazy. Shaking my head absently at that thought, I took another look around while noting the man across from me was beginning to look annoyed. I didn't really care.

This is the damn third time that this has happened to me, I think I'm allowed to take a moment and look at my environment. After all, it's clear I'm in the land of duel monsters, but right now I'm trying to figure out what series I'm dealing with. Because I'll be honest, I don't really know much about either the card game or the shows. Sure, I watched the hell out of the original and played for fun every now and again, but that was the only one I finished and that has so many inconsistencies when it comes to the actual card game.

Still, as I looked around, I noted a few things, everyone had jackets on, all ranging between three colors from the looks of it. Red, blue, and yellow. I'm in GX then. Damn it. I watched like half of the first season and a few random duels that happened. Like that thing with Yugi and Jaden that never got dubbed. So this is going to be the most blind I've been in a world before, but at least this is before all that bull with synchros and exceeds. So I don't have to play catch up there as I do actually know how to play. It's just been a while.

"Ok come on kid! I really don't have all day here!" I absently made note that the man across from me was more than likely a proctor for the entrance exam duel thing that happened in the first episode. Which means I'm probably at the start of canon at the moment, isn't that neat. Now then, on to more interesting concerns. What the hell am I going to do.

Because I don't even know what deck I have on me, for all I know it's cards I've never heard of before, not to mention I really don't want to get wrapped up in this plot. I don't know anything about it really besides a few things and while I would love to be able to stake my status in life at be being good at a children's card game, I have a feeling it won't really be that easy...I can think about that later I guess, right now I'm just going to go with the flow. This world doesn't have any crazy dangers that'll go after me specifically so I have some time on my hands to actually think.

With that I figured what the hell and looked down at the duel disk on my arm and noted the deck already in there. I really thought about just flipping the proctor off and look through the deck for a few minutes but decided that probably would get me kicked out from how long I am actually taking. It wasn't really worth burning a bridge just because I was being petty.

Looking over the disk some more, I finally found the button which I could only assume turns the thing on, so with that I pressed it. The activation was neat to watch as I looked up at the look on the man in front of me's face, which basically said 'freaking finally!' I found it rude but anyway, I just looked back down at my disk for another moment, mostly noting all the parts to it when the man spoke up.

"Since you made me wait this long, I'll be going first!" I just noted as I looked up as I watched as he drew his cards, I followed suit drawing my own five as I felt my eyes widen a small bit, not really finding a reason to hide my reaction as I looked at my starting hand. Nightmare Wheel, Mirror Force, and Nimble Momonga were the first three that caught my attention. Two strong traps and a monster designed to heal... I have a burn deck.

"Now then, I activate the spell card Six Samurai United! This allows me to place a counter on it every time I summon a Six Samurai, and guess what's about to come out! I summon The Six Samurai - Irou in attack mode(1700/1200)! Which means my counter goes up by one!" I nearly forgot everyone shouts out what they're doing, I didn't actually mind since I've only played a Six Samurai deck like once two years ago, which is actually fourteen years in the future. I would have continued to think about that if it wasn't for the fact that when he sit down his card a monster appeared before him.

Irou was an interesting card to look at as it stared at me in his black robes the same colored sword resting on his shoulder. Though I didn't frown a bit as I vaguely recalled his effects. He can destroy any face down monster, which was a minor counter to what I think my deck might revolve around. After all, I know some nice burn decks, and they might or might not be my favorites because I love pissing people off.

"Now while I can't attack this turn, that doesn't mean I'm done yet, by immediately using that counter, I can draw one more card!" With that he got rid of the spell, which I thought was a bit wasteful but wasn't going to complain as he drew his next card. Though I must say, I didn't like the smile on his face. Though surprisingly he didn't do anything which instantly made me think it was a quick play card. Interesting.

"Alright then, I guess it's my turn. I'll draw" I didn't say it like a question but it kind of was one since I wasn't really sure how to use this disk. Thankfully when I said I was planning on drawing, the disk ejected a card out, which I gracefully took and added into my hand like I totally knew what I was doing. Looking at it just confirmed my ideas of this deck as I looked at the Dark Room of Nightmare. Well, time to get started then.

"First I activate a spell card, Dark Room of Nightmare, meaning every time you take damage from a card effect, you'll be paying 300 more. Now, I set three more cards to keep it company and set one monster face down in defense mode. With that I end my turn" I'll admit it was kind of fun to explain everything, as I did grow up with this game for a period, though I wasn't into it near enough to shout out my actions.

"I see, scared are you? No matter, I draw!...Now I special summon Grandmaster of the Six Samurai(2100/800) since I have a Six Samurai on the field" Ah, so that's what he drew last turn, I wonder why he didn't bother summoning it then. He might have something up his sleeves...No reason to risk it.

"I'll have to stop you right there. I'm activating my trap card, Nightmare Wheel, and I'll be using it on that Grandmaster of yours, being you can only attack with it" I didn't really remember what it did, so I'm just stopping it now, though it wouldn't have hurt to let him gt some attacks off since I'm only working with 4000 instead of 8000 like I'm use to. The man just frowned at that before saying.

"Fine, with that I'll normal summon Spirit of the Six Samurai and use it's effect to equip it to Six Samurai - Irou! Increasing the attack and defense points by 500(2200/1700)! Now, I'll attack your face down card with my Irou!" I just shrugged like it was a thing to do as I watched as the card was summoned before being equipped to the Samurai, who now had a glowing blue aura around them as they sliced into my monster. And now I think it's time to use-

"Neat. My cards effect activates as it was flipped, now, I gain 1000 extra life points and get to place two more monsters face down in defense mode" I waited a moment to see if my duel disk would give me the cards but it didn't, so I just drew the deck out and pulled them out myself, which I was really glad to see as if these two weren't in my deck then tat would have just been kind of awkward. I thought about just placing the deck back before shuffling it a few times just in case, as I didn't plan on getting called out for cheating in case the disk didn't do that for me. Setting the two monsters back down I motioned for the annoyed proctor to continue.

"I end my turn" I just nodded to the man and gave a mostly fake smile before saying happily.

"Alright, I'll draw and then activate my Nightmare Wheel's effect. You now take 500 life points of damage, but wait theirs more. Since it's a card effect that's doing it, Dark Room of Nightmare increases that damage by 300, meaning you're down by 800" He growled at that as I watched his counter tick down to 3200. I got to say, this was kind of fun. Then again, I'm kind of sadistic so there's that. Anyway, time to see what I drew...Oh, interesting, I'm pretty sure this card was banned.

"I set one card face down and then end my turn" He seemed to frown a bit at that but continued on and drew anyway. There wasn't really much I could do as i don't have any monsters in my hand, besides he can't attack me directly yet with my two monsters on the field so I'm fine all the same. Though, judging by the near crazy grin on his face, I think the proctor might have just drew something good.

"I activate one card, Gateway of the Six which is another counter card, but we'll get to that later, for now, I set one more card then activate something to get rid of that pesky back row! I activate Harpie's Feather Duster!" Oh, that would actually be a problem, to bad I planned for that with one of my first face downs.

"That's nice, I activate one of my face down cards, which happens to be a trap I like to call Gryphon Wing. You see instead of my back row being destroyed, it's now your's. And since I'm in the giving mood, I'll activate that card I just put down as well, which is Magical Thorn, so every time you send a card from your hand to the grave you take damage" His face was quite entertaining as he got rid of his back row as I absently looked down at the only card in my hand at the moment. I wonder his reaction to this one.

"Fine! I attack one of your face downs! Go Irou!" I just smiled at that as the Irou attacked, only to reveal a second Momonga, bringing my life points up to a nice 6000. He just growled before ending his turn as I looked over at his hand. Time to put those life points to use, but before that.

"You'll be taking another 800 with my Nightmare Wheel and Dark Room. Now, just for fun, I activate this nice spell in my hand, it's called Delinquent Duo, I'm paying 1000 life points to get rid of one of your cards. I'll pick the one on the right, and since you have another one in that hand of yours, you get to pick another to get rid of" He was steaming as he put away what looked like a bottomless trap hole, it was worthless against me anyway, but then he sent away a Samurai, I didn't see what it was but it was a interesting choice. Anyway, time to add insult to injury.

"Oh yeah, because you just sent two cards to the grave from your hand, Magical Thorn activates, dealing 500 points for each, but we can't forget about Dark Room now can we? So in total that's 1600 life points lost on top of the 800 from the Nightmare wheel. Isn't this just fun?" He seemed to growl a bit as I was over one thousand points above the starting life points and he was down to a small 1000 only. We had more than a full life point bar between us right now.

"I draw!" He seemed to take in the card he drew for a moment before sighing and setting it down, nothing helpful then. From there he did the whole song and dance and attacked my last face down monster, which turned out to just be another Momonga, sending me back up to 6000 life points. And now it's my turn again. Honestly, I love playing like this, pissing people off is fun, but a challenge wouldn't be to bad either, this was fun but a bit dull...Oh well, if I care, then I'll build a new deck later on for a more beat down style.

"I'll draw, and you'll take damage, oh would you look at that, I win" The Nightmare Wheel glowed as his last remaining life points were drained in an instant. As the two duel disks turned off with the duel ended. With what I yawned, as I was quite tired, before removing the cards on the disk so they wouldn't fall off as I walked, placing them back into my deck, which I need to look at later, before walking away.

I need to look into a few things anyway now that that's over with. With that I walked over to the bleachers, ignoring the people that were looking at me, as I didn't really care about them as I pulled out my deck and looked through it for a few minutes, noting a number of interesting cards in here that I didn't have the chance to use. Though I didn't have a single worthwhile attacking monster, which was expected, this deck seemed to be pretty good though there were a few things that I could improve.

For one, there were plenty of combos but they were all situational a bit, as I only have three cards that make someone send cards to the grave from my hand, which was disproportional to the fact that I had three Magic Thorns in here are well. Plus I would really like to get some back row killers to my hand as well. Gryphon Wing is nice but highly situational, so having some Harpie's Feather Dusters would help me as well.

Besides that the deck was pretty solid though I still wouldn't mind building my own at some point, at least I would if it wasn't for the fact that I'm not the best at deck builder games. Give me a template of some sort to add onto to mish and mash and I'll be great, but building one from the ground up is a bit more tricky. Thoughts for later, as while this deck could possibly be the most important thing I own at the moment considering the world I'm in. Some background information would be helpful.

With that I looked around for a moment, just to find the area I was looking for, the registration desk. After all, I have no clue in hell where I live, though at least I have a pretty good idea on my name. It's always the same in these situations after all. So with that I walked over to the woman behind the desk, who seemed to notice me after a moment and looked up. So I just gave a fake smile, which she couldn't tell, and said.

"Hey. I know it's a bit weird, but I'm kind of the paranoid sort when it comes to this kind of thing. Do you happen to have my general information around? I just want to make sure it's right. The name is Kyu Malo" She blinked at that but seemed to fall for my slightly embarrassed tone and nodded as she moved over to a computer and seemed to start to search something up.

I really hope my name's the same as the other times, it's always been before so I don't see a reason to start changing it now, still it would be a bit annoying to deal with that. Thankfully after a second, the woman turned back to me and with her turn, she also moved the computer so I could see the screen.

"Is this all right?" She said it in a teasing way, so I just ignored the hell out of that and looked at the screen, quickly memorizing all the information I could see. My address and exam grades were the important ones, though the age was informing. I'm fifteen at the moment. With that I noted that I was set to be in Slifer. It took a moment to remember that was the lowest ranking. The fuck? I looked next to the exam rankings.

By the duel exam, there was a note that basically said I was a staler without any real plan. That was insulting and completely true. I was just using what came out of my deck, which I think requires more skill since I beat him with it while I was using a deck I had never even touched before this. Whatever. I'm pretty sure I can move up the ranks still so I can do that if the red dorm is that bad. Anyway, I've already seen everything I need, so with that I leaned back with a nice smile and said.

"Thanks so much, I know it's a bit strange but I can't help but worry you know?" I didn't really give a damn about her answer and as such just tuned her out as I just waited for her to stop talking so I could leave. And just when that was about to happen, I noted the form of a guy who was currently sprinting in my direction. Turning around, I blinked at the sight before me, of who I could only assume was the main character. Jaden Yuki. So I am in canon then. Damn it, that means I'll probably have to deal with that duel spirit stuff.

As I watched as Jaden quickly signed in and rushed off I noticed something slightly interested. That wasn't the word I was looking for, stuff, I was trying to say sh- huh. I can't curse, well damn. That's a bit annoying, I like cursing. Oh well, moving on, I watched as Jaden ran off into the duel arena for a moment before following after him. I didn't really know when I was suppose to set out and sitting would be better for me right now while I work out a few things.

Sitting down, I ignored the first full duel of the original show and instead just rooted around in my pockets for a bit, mostly to find anything on my person. I found a phone, a flip phone because clearly the holographic duel disks fit with this world tech levels. Anyway, it had a password, but that was an easy guess, two one three four one two. I used it a lot for my phones when I was younger which I technically am at the moment.

Anyway, I was at least use to this kind of stuff, so it only took me a moment to find all the relevant things to know from my phone. The picture gallery was mostly empty but there was a number of pics in there all the same. Most were prices to what looked like booster packs. Maybe for once I'm not broke...probably not. Still, I don't really know much about booster packs but I know the ones on this screen probably don't account for all the cards in my deck, so I probably have some more at my 'home'

Speaking of which, I also found a picture of some older couple, I'm just going to assume those are my parents and the person with this body before me wasn't a stalker. That would be poor form on the alternate version of me. Anyway, moving past that, my contacts were pretty damn barren, so not many friends, though there was a few under some names I don't recognize. Well, if they want then they can call me, otherwise I'm not going to bother with dealing with that.

Next was my wallet, it was mostly empty with only a bit of cash, no real shock there, but there was a few items, like my ID, which did in face have my new name on it, along with a picture of myself. It didn't really have anything new on it, as I already knew what I would look like since I've been this age already. Though, as I was about to close the wallet up, I noted a card. Blinking in slight confusion, I reached and pulled it out and looked at it for a moment.

Stealth Bird? Hmm. Weird, I don't remember exactly when this card came out, but I do know it was when I was more into this game as a young person. So 2006 to 2007 I guessing, and I'm pretty damn sure the year is 2004 give or take, at least that's when the show was airing so only those cards should exist at this time. Whatever, I could be totally wrong and besides it's a decent walling card and it's effects make it fit right in with my deck. I wonder why it's out of it then. Sure, it's a bit out of place but it's pretty clear beyond indirect damage, this deck doesn't really follow a theme.

Oh well, thoughts for later, besides it's not like my duel with that proctor guy could have gone much better even with this card to be honest, I completely flattened him after all. Though after looking through my deck, from the looks of it, I don't really think I can get a bad opening hand. Another reason why I like these kinds of decks, I don't have to worry about bringing my strongest monster out before my opponent to wail on them. Though beat downs are also pretty fun when you get lucky on a draw.

To bad my luck when it comes to cards always seems to suck, I don't think any heart of the cards bull is going to help that. Still, it really helps that getting bricked is quite a hard thing to do. I'm think about my deck to much I feel like, though to be fair, this entire universe revolves around this kid's card game, so getting really good at it can only mean success, thankfully I'm decent at this game already if a bit rusty.

Another reason why I'm glad I got a deck that doesn't really need a large amount of skill. Though I am getting sent to an out house of a dorm room because of it. Eh, I've never really been all that picky about my living conditions so I'll be fine...I've been staring down at this Stealth Bird card for the last five minutes. Shaking my head a bit, I pocketed the card, well I put it in my wallet. I didn't feel like bending these things when I have no idea how much they cost.

Actually, do I have a card case on me? I felt around my side and noted there was a box there. Interesting. Well no reason to keep my deck in my disk at the moment, so I just switched them out and with that I decided to focus up on to the duel in front of me as I watched Jaden play a field spell then destroyed Crowler's monster, a big stone looking thing. I really should find some card catalogs because not knowing all this stuff now that it's important is going to annoy me. Then again I'm pretty sure the number of cards is at least a thousand or two at this point.

Eh, considering it's this world, I'm sure if I run into anything I don't know about, then they'll just explain it to me in an over dramatic way. I wonder if I have to do that as a rule in this show. I'll think about it later if I still care. Moving on to something else then, because the last duel of the day just ended, meaning now I have to find a way back to my house in a city that I've never been in before. Yeah, and considering I never had the best sense of direction, this might take a moment.

Well at lest I'll be able to get to know the city a bit more before whenever the hell I'm heading to this duel academy, which is on a tropical island, with a heavy red coat. Why does everyone wear jackets? That seems like a great way to get dehydrated. I'll deal with it when I get to it, I mean, it's not like I can't just tie it around me waist or just not wear it, though I'm not sure if that's a rule or not at the school. Thoughts for later.

With that I stood up and headed my way out of the building, looking around at my surroundings for a long moment, just to take it all in as the city was pretty neat looking before heading off in a random direction. Going on like this would just have me lost, if I was actually trying to find my house, I wasn't. Right now I was looking around for a convenience store. After all, I do have some cash on me, enough for a map, which I'm sure a store would have as I would be surprised if this city wasn't a major tourist spot.

I had rushed into what I can only assume to be my room when I got 'home', thankfully while I wasn't use to being so short, doesn't change the fact that I know how to be very hard to notice when I want to. Old habits and all that. Anyway, as I looked around the room for a moment, I made note of the blue walls before moving on to the fact that I didn't really care much about that or the random assortment of furniture in here.

After all, I was looking for other things, though I did make note of a few picture frames in the room, just to make note that the two from my phone were in fact my parents, which wasn't that a strange thought. Anyway, where would the person who had this body before me put his important stuff... Well, if my password was the same, then the body was a lot like me before I got here. So that would mean-

With that I walked over to a small desk before pulling out a drawer and found and number of unimportant items, like paper and pencils. Closing it up, I then opened the one underneath that and found what I was looking for. In there was a sack of cards, reaching down I picked them up and then spread them out on the desk in front of me. There wasn't enough to actually build a full forty card deck and from the fact that most were lower leveled monsters with no effect, this would be a decent foundation but nothing that I could win in a real duel with unless I was fighting a child with nothing above six leveled monsters.

There are a few decent cards, like two Luster Dragons but those were basically the strongest of the monsters in front of me. and 1900 attack isn't anything special when it's the best you can manage. Well, it is decent right now as this is before that massive power creep that happened. Well, with all the spell cards in these extra cards, I could manage a few decent combos and if I added in a few from my burn deck, it might be decent, but my burn deck already seems pretty powerful so that would just be hurting myself.

I doesn't hurt to take them anyway though as there are a few nice cards that would go well with a beat down in here. Just nothing that goes well with each other, oh well, while I wouldn't mind another deck, playing the one I have is pretty fun already so I don't really need it, but I like having options, especially if someone makes a hard counter to my deck which would be annoying if I some how get dragged into a shadow game or something. I dislike being predicable.

Maybe that's a bit hypocritical considering my deck is designed around typical and predicable plays and hard countering them, but if that's true then whatever, I don't really care if I am one or not. Anyway, moving onto something else, I looked around the room for a moment as I dropped those cards into a second card case that had also been in the desk. After fixing it to my belt, I just looked around the room for a few more moments before walking over to the closet, after all, I have one more thing to check up on.

Pulling the door open, I blinked at the slightly to colorfully sets of clothing, so I do have more than one set of clothes which is nice, and while I really don't care much about what I look like, I do happen to normally just get things that suit me from what I've been told, and none of these had many dark colors to them...Hmm, there is certainly a joke here about these clothes, the closet, and my preferences. Nah, too low of a hanging fruit.

Moving on, I just looked down at myself for a moment before pulling off the scarf I was wearing before tossing it somewhere behind me as it had been bugging me for a bit, probably not landing on the bed like I wanted it to, but I didn't really care as I looked at the things in front of me before noting a suitcase. Right, the thing I had been looking for before I had been distracted by the weird choice of clothing.

After all, I would be quite surprised if I was that unprepared, even if I wasn't the me in control at the time. I wonder how meta that statement is. Anyway, moving on to something less headache inducing, I pulled the suitcase out and dropped it onto the bed and pulled it open. Nothing surprisingly, the clothing was a bit more muted but that was about it, though there were a few other items that weren't really important to point out, toothbrushes and that kind of thing.

A moment later, I just dropped my duel disk into the thing when I heard the door to the room open up. I blinked to myself as I spent a full second thinking over who all it could be before turning around. It was a familiar looking woman, a quick glance to a photo on the desk confirmed that it was in fact the mom.

"I thought you would have already left" Left? Ah, was I suppose to go straight to that boat to head to the island after qualifying? I guess so, well that's stupid considering my suitcase would be here, and I didn't see anyone else packed, so I should still have some time all the same though now I have to find out where the hell I need to go. Thankfully I have a free target.

"I had to come back and grab my bag, plus I kind of forgot some cards as well that I didn't want to forget...Hey, what's the address of the boat again?" The mom just rolled her eyes a tad with a faint smile on her face, ok then, good I've managed to mostly get the personality type she's use to right off the bat. That could have been a bit awkward if I went with something else.

"Right, it's just it took you a while to get back here, I almost thought you some how got lost. Anyway, come on, I can drive you there so you won't have to worry about being on time" I just gave her a smile at that, it was a hollow one but she didn't seem to notice as we walked out of the room, with me zipping up the suitcase before dragging it on behind me. Time to have an awkward silent car ride then I guess. I'll just look over my deck in the car and use that as an excuse to not talk.

"Hello, give me your name and I'll be assigning your room number along with giving you your outfit for your assigned dorm for when we get to the island" I just nodded and gave my name as I briefly turned and watched as a car pulled out onto the road and drove off. She didn't stick around long it would seem, I probably didn't help but barely giving anything to her conversation start ups but I just wasn't interested.

"Alright then Mister Malo, you're in room 112 on floor six, you're in Slifer Red, so give me a moment while I grab your jacket" She seemed to size me up for a moment before going to grab one that would fit me properly. I just yawned again as I waited, after all, I was very tired, I had already been up for far longer than would normally be healthy before getting sent here and so after the last few, very tiring, hours I'm just pretty exhausted. If I'm lucky then I should be able to just sleep through this entire trip as I've never gotten motion sick much.

That was when the lady returned and handed over the jacket, I just took it from her and looked it over. It was more of a blazer to be honest but it still worked, so with that I did the only thing I could do since I was already wearing a jacket, so I just used the arms to tie it around my waist. before walking up the ramp into the massive ship itself. It was a bit weird to wear since I hardly wear stuff like this, but it's better than having to open up my suitcase and dump my jacket in it.

So with that I walked on a bit and mostly spent my time just looking around as I tried t find an elevator or a staircase to go to the needed floor. I didn't really feel like spending time with a bunch of teenagers at the moment, and while it might be nice to duel again, as I will admit the duel disks are pretty neat, I would much prefer setting my stuff down and getting a nap in, not to mention I'm hardly a naturally social creature.

Meaning I was quite annoyed when someone bumped into me as had looked down just at the wrong time to have some of my hair fall into my right eye as turned to the stairs I had finally found. It was instinct when I growled out in annoyance as I took a very clear step back as I brushed my hair out of my eyes with my free hand, ignoring the tension in my shoulder.

"Hey, my bad dude" I noted the sight of a yellow blazer as a hand reached out, to probably place on my shoulder as from my reaction the guy probably thought I took a bigger hit than him. I in response just turned and walked off, as I walked quickly to the stairs as I really didn't want to deal with an idiot anymore. I've already been in a pretty questionable mood so far as I feel would be justified in my current situation, so that certainly didn't help.

Making my way to the room, I opened it up, ignoring the very panicking thought about the fact that the door didn't have a lock which had an interesting effect on my naturally paranoid as hell mind. I'll just put a chair in front of it when I'm sleeping, it's not like I haven't done that before, which I'm sure speaks volumes about me as a person, character? Technically character is the right word. It's getting back to meta and that headache inducing so with that I just tossed my case onto the bed as I closed the door behind me.

With that I pulled my jacket off my shoulders and dropped it onto the very small table next to the equally small bed. I was about to untie the one on my waist as well when the door I had just entered from had a series of knocks come from it. I sighed to myself as I looked over at the door for a long moment, debating whether it would be worth answering or not. It took a second before I walked back to the door and opened it up, only to see a yellow uniform and nearly sighed as I looked at the guy who ran into me.

"Hey dude, sorry to keep bugging you like this but you seemed to really be annoyed and I just wanted to see if everything was alright" Oh joy, a stock anime good guy. I felt the want to roll my eyes but instead I just answered back plainly.

"I'm fine, just I don't really like being touched is all" He looked slightly taken aback by that but I didn't really care, hell knows that I know it's a weird thing to be uncomfortable with but it's just how it is and it's something I have to deal with. Still after a minute of near silence, the guy seemed to realize that he was suppose to be the one to say something next and in an near embarrassed panic, jutted his hand out and said.

"Oh! Right! My name's Alexander Romine, my friends call me Alex though!" I just looked at him for a moment then looked down at his offered hand for another moment before looking back up t him with a raised eyebrow. It was amusing to watch his already kind of red face turn an even deeper shade of crimson, withdrawing his hand quickly as he stuttered something of an apology. I didn't like his tackling me, but otherwise, it's been entertaining to watch him make a idiot of himself.

"Mine's Kyu Malo, I don't really care what you call me" He gave an awkward smile at that, clearly not knowing how to respond, so with that I was about to just close my door to try and get a nap in when he suddenly blurted out.

"Wanna duel?" It came mostly out of no where but considering the destination that this ship is going to, maybe getting a request for a duel really shouldn't be a surprising thing to have happen. I thought about it for a second, noting the slightly anxious and still embarrassed look on his face for a moment before sighing. I have to get good at this stuff already so I might as well. Though forty some hours since waking up, on top of however long I've been here isn't the best period for learning. Well muscle memory isn't bad so whatever.

"Yeah why not. Give me a moment to get my disk" He seemed to perk up a bit at that so that's a minor plus I guess, though I'm really not doing this for him. It took a moment but I got everything set up pretty quickly, it wasn't a difficult thing to figure out after a try or two but I will admit it took me a moment but after that, the two of us just set out across the surprisingly wide hallway we were in. I guess this thing wasn't an uncommon occurrence if the damn ship was designed with dueling in mind.

"You can go first" He gave me a thankful smile at that though I wasn't sure why, I was just doing it to get an extra card, plus it doesn't hurt to have someone in a good mood before dueling me, since I'll probably have to deal with him at a later point so no reason to really piss him off. After a moment, he drew his five as I grabbed my five out as well and looked them over. Nothing special, two Dark Rooms and a Magic Cylinder were the main highlights, though no monster, but Magic Cylinder can work in the mean time.

"Alright! First I summon Skilled White Magician! Up next I activate Terraforming, meaning I can bring one field card straight to my hand, also adding a token to my White Magician since I activated a spell but that's not the only one I'm playing, after all, I just got this card, and I'm playing on using it! Yami!"

As he said that I blinked as for the first time the environment around us changed, the walls turning near pitch black as the floor began to seem to glow an interesting light red. Still, he already as a pretty powerful monster on the field especially with the 200 boost to it from the field card(1900/2100).

"Now I'll be setting a card face down and ending my turn" He was a lot more confident when he duels, he wasn't stuttering or making a fool out of himself so that's something interesting, maybe he's to wrapped up into the game to notice. Still, if he's confident that he's going to win this, then it wouldn't hurt to bring him back down to reality a bit.

"Ok then, I'll draw" I looked down at my hand for a moment before internally grinning as I saw it, first draw to, huh, maybe my luck is turning around. With that I placed the card down to activate it and called out to Alxander.

"I'll be playing Pot of Greed, drawing two cards" I know, explaining it was stupid but the disk was voice activated in a strange way, meaning I seemed to have to say that to have the latch come down to let me draw, I could still remove the deck itself but I couldn't single draw for some reason. I feel like this thing is really old. Anyway, back to the point, I drew my next two cards and let a smirk pull on my lips as I looked at them.

"Ok then, I'll set one monster face down, then I'll be activating two spell cards, both called Dark Room of Nightmare. From there I'll set two more cards and end my turn" It wasn't anything special but it did add some nice set up for some of my future draws, though it didn't seem like Alezander seemed to care much about the set cards as he called out to me.

"I'll draw, but now I gotta thank you for that! My Skilled White Magician has an effect, every time a spell is activated, he gains a counter, and when he gets three of those, I get to summon a special card from anywhere, my hand, the grave, and even my deck! Now I tribute my Skilled White Magician and it's counters to bring out Bluster Blader(2800/2500)!" Interesting but hardly a real threat at the moment.

"Now, I still have my normal summon left, and I think I'll be summoning my second Skilled White Magician!" Sure he had some fire power but I have plenty of tricks left up my sleeve, and it looks like in his excitement he'll be falling right into them.

"Attack his face down monster Skilled White Magician!" I just nodded at that as the card was flipped over to reveal Momonga, that squirrel is just the best. Anyway, time to continue on with my stuff.

"You just flipped over Nimble Momonga, meaning I can now set two more, and I'l be gaining 1000 life points as well" It didn't take as long this time to get the two out of the deck, but it did take a second. After that he seemed a bit more annoyed but continued on and attacked another of the Nimble Momongas, giving me another 1000 and still having another set monster to defend me. With that he ended his turn, bringing it right back to me.

"I'll draw" Looking down at my hand as I pulled my card, I hummed briefly to myself as I looked at it. It was a new monster, and by that I mean I haven't used it yet, but it's effect is pretty nice, so with that I called out to Alexander.

"I'll set one monster and end my turn" I need a Nightmare Wheel or one of my Magic Thorns to really start doing damage to him, I already have a Delinquent Duo ready to go from my starting card. Anyway, Alexander drew, looked at his hand again for a moment before calling out.

"I summon Apprentice Magician, and with her effect, I can add one counter to Skilled White Magician, and then I'll set one card and start attacking! Bluster Blader attack the one on the right!" Oh you poor fool, I could just let it go through but I am tired after all, and holding back yawns are starting to make me realize accepting this was a bit of a mistake, so with that I called out.

"I activate my trap card, Magic Cylinder. Normally meaning you'll be taking you Buster Blader's attack points straight to your life points, but those two Dark Rooms of Nightmare have an effect, both add an extra 300 damage to any card damage effect, so that means you'll be taking up 3400 damage" He winced a bit as his card stopped right before he destroyed my face down, before turning and slicing in his direction as his life points shot down.

"Damn, fine, I attack with Skilled White Magician, and I'll be targeting your left card!" I just nodded as he destroyed my last Nimble Momonga, bring my life points up to 7000 while he only had 600. From there he ended his turn as I reached and drew from my deck once more, only to blink at the card in my hand. It wasn't something I could use but it was a new monster. Yeah why not.

"I'll set one more monster and end my turn" He seemed annoyed that I was beating him pretty soundly without attacking, but surpisingly he didn't seem angry really, just a bit put out as he drew his card before calling out.

"I activate this card on the field, Pitch-Black Power, allowing me to to add a second counter to Skilled White Magician. Now I play the spell I just drew, but before I get to it, I now have three more counters on a Skilled White Magician, allowing me to bring out another Buster Blader!" I'll be honest, his deck was pretty good, if it wasn't for the fact that my deck is designed to counter basically everything I think could be used in this game's age, he would have been much more difficult. I never really liked playing on easy, maybe I really should look into getting another deck.

"But I'm not done, because I can now activate the effect of that spell card from before, and it was Megamorph! Placing this onto my Bluster Blader doubles his attack power(5400/2500)! And with that I'll set one monster face down and I end my turn" I'll admit I wasn't seeing that coming, after all that was some serious attack power, and he seemed to figure out that attacking me was a no go.

"I'll draw" I pulled my card and looked at it for a moment before shrugging at the sight of the card, I could now end this by next turn, and I'm planning on it, but I decided to do something out of character a bit for me as I called out.

"I set one card and end my turn. Now, fair warning, you'll lose next turn if you can't defeat me now, so good luck" He seemed to just grimace a bit before nodding, seemingly understanding I wasn't bluffing as he drew what would be his last card and he smiled.

"Now I play Graceful Charity! Meaning I get to draw three cards as long as I send back two from my hand!" That isn't banned either? Is nothing banned? Those thoughts would have to come in later as I watched as he drew two cards as I noted his face down card, I knew enough about flip effect to be wary of it, especially since Alexander knows I don't attack. Oh...damn it, I forgot to use the effect of the monster I set a while back, it's a slip one as well. Oh well, only thing to do is see how this plays out.

"Now I've gotten rid of the two I don't need, I play a card, United We Stand! Meaning my Bluster Blader is getting one hell of a boost!(7000/2500)" Oh? That's just enough to defeat me if he can get by my defenses. I felt a small smile appear somewhere on my face as I noted the glee Alex was having. Sure I might like pissing people off, but this is a game, and to be honest games are more fun if everyone has a chance in my opinion, at least as long as you don't annoy me.

"Now! I flip up my set down card, Old Vindictive Magician, and activate it's effect, meaning I can instantly destroy one of your monsters, and I'm targeting the one of the right!" Oh damn, I watched as Solider penguin was sent to the grave by an effect meaning I could use it's own effect, his plan would actually work, it wasn't hard to see his plan as he grinned as he shot a hand out and called out to his monsters.

"Buster Blader attack his remaining face down!" And with that my monster was revealed, a simple Golem Sentry, that if I had activated would have instantly ruined his plans, oh well.

"And now, my all powerful Buster Blader, attack Kyu directly!" I got to say, I could lose, he would never know I could have defeated him, and I really thought about it for a few moments before deciding I liked winning a lot. Sure I wouldn't really give a damn if I lost but in this world card games are kind of everything, so while I wouldn't mind giving myself a challenge with another deck, I don't think it would be wise just just allow myself to lose. After all, I kind of don't want to piss of the heart of the cards when I've had some pretty good luck so far.

"Sorry mate, I activate my last trap card, Nightmare Wheel. It's an equip and like all the others on the field, it's going to that Buster Blader. With this card attached, your Buster Blader can no longer attack" He was pretty clever and damn if his deck was good, he would smoke anyone with a dragon deck with ease if he could get his counters up fast enough.

"What! Darn it! Fine I'll attack with apprentice Magician and Old Vindictive Magician then!" I nodded as that was fair as the two cards charged me with nothing I could do to defend myself. I still was above 6000 though so it's not like I was worried.

"I guess I end my turn" I got to say, I did get pretty damn lucky with my draw thinking about it, even if I didn't tell him I would win, I'm sure he would have done this play as he had everything for it ready so I won because of a lucky draw. Yeah, maybe the heart of the cards aren't so bad.

"Then it's my turn and Nightmare Wheel's effect activates, you take 500 life points of damage, and both Dark Rooms activate as well, adding 600 more to your total and more than 500 than you have available. Good game" He nodded at that with a small sigh, it was clear he was disappointed, which he shouldn't be, he got me damn close to losing, which is saying something when I have over six thousand more life points than him.

"I guess, but you really are really strong!" He was whining but I decided to ignore it as I gave one last remark before heading back into my room.

"I'm more tricky than anything, I'm open to a rematch though, you're the best I've dueled in a long time, closer to beating at least" It wasn't a total lie, I mean I haven't actually dueled in this game in at least a year or so, at least not at all seriously, and the only other duel before this I won without any real effort. That Alex guy is actually pretty damn strong himself.

I didn't bother listening to whatever he said in response though as I am really tired, and just want to lay down for a bit, even though I know the chances of me falling asleep are pretty low.

First off, don't analyze the duels to closely, it's been a long as hell time since I've played this game or even watched the show but I got back into it a lot more recently and read a few good stories and decided to give it a try myself. I'll point out now that you should not expect consistency like at all for the cards in a accurate release timeline way. I mean I like researching but I simply refuse to look into every single card on top of building all the OC decks for all these duels to make sure every single card is both made in correspondence to the ones available at that time and aren't fully banned for something. This was mostly a one shot idea but if this goes into something more I just want to point that out. It's why Nightmare Wheel is here along with some other interesting cards in Kyu's deck. Anyway, See ya.
