Chapter 133: Historical Mystery Tour!
Ash, Brock, Dawn, Denise and Lucas were walking with Johanna and Claire while enjoying the Twinleaf Festival.
Dawn and Denise smiled as they ate the treats they gotten in the festival with Prinplup and Kirlia.
"Awesome."Dawn remarked. "These delicious Combee honey pies are the absolute best."
Denise munched on a small cookie that was covered in hazelnut and shaped as a Teddiursa head.
"The same goes with these nutty Teddiursa cookies."Denise chuckled.
"Whoa."Ash said as he ate a bag of chips. "These electro chips may cost a bit, but they are not too shabby either."
"Pika."Pikachu said with a smile.
"Hey folks, don't you think your overdoing a little bit?"Brock asked.
"If you get a stomach ache, your on your own."Johanna declared.
"And Lucas don't complain if you get your brain frozen like last time."Claire reminded.
Riolu chuckled gently at the respond from the mother of his trainer.
"Mum, I'm fine."Lucas assured in embarrassment as he held a shaved ice drink. "A Sneasel shaved ice never hurt me before."
"Besides, it's not everyday we go to a festival you know."Dawn commented.
"So it's important we enjoy ourselves as much as possible in this moment."Denise added.
"Alright, let's go-"Ash started.
Ash runs forward only to bump into Barry and the two boys dropped on the ground.
"Come on! Come on!"Barry complained as he stood up. "If you crazy festival people don't watch where you're going, I'm going to have to fine all of you!"
Barry opened his eyes and notice Ash.
"Hey!"Barry exclaimed. "It's Ash!"
"Barry?"Ash said in confusion as he stood up. "Why are you here?"
"Ash, isn't obvious?"Denise questioned as she came forward. "His here for the Twinleaf festival."
"Exactly, Denise!"Barry agreed and smirked proudly. "Not only that! I took a break from riggers of training and came home just for the occasion."
"Oh yeah, you, Dawn, Denise and Lucas are all from Twinleaf Town."Ash complemented.
Johanna and Claire walked forward with Dawn, Lucas and Brock.
"Say Barry, welcome back."Johanna greeted.
"How you've been doing?"Claire asked with a smile.
"Great, Mrs Diamond."Barry responded.
Johanna looked at Dawn and Denise.
"You see, girls, Barry's father and I have been friends for a long time."Johanna explained.
Johanna's sentence surprised Dawn and Denise.
"Whoa, I never knew that."Dawn commented.
"That's amazing!"Denise complemented in awe.
"Of course."Barry responded with a smirk and became confused. "Who's she anyway?"
"Seriously, you don't remember?"Denise scoffed.
"She's our mum, Barry."Dawn answered.
"Oh right. Nice to see you."Barry said with a sheepish smile before looking at Ash and Lucas. "Alright! Ash! Let's battle!"
"Huh?"Ash said in confusion.
"It's all about battling!"Barry declared excitedly. "I'm here to win the Festival Battle Challenge event and that's the main attraction!"
"You're entering too."Ash remarked. "That's great."
"Then let's have a double battle."Denise suggested. "You and Lucas vs me and Ash."
"Alright then!"Barry insisted and looked at Dawn. "And Dawn, you'll be the referee!"
"Me?"Dawn said in confusion.
"Okay, guys!"Barry instructed. "This way!"
"We're right behind you!"Lucas assured.
Ash, Denise and Lucas started running to follow after Barry.
"Ash! Denise! Lucas!"Dawn called out. "Wait a minute!"
"Prinplup!"Prinplup chirped.
"So Dawn, why don't you just go with them?"Johanna suggested.
"Why mum?"Dawn asked.
"Well, your entering tomorrow's challenge too, aren't you?"Johanna reminded. "It might give you new ideas."
"Johanna!"
Sayer came forward to talk to Johanna.
"There you are, Johanna."Sayer said.
"What's the matter?"Johanna asked.
"One of our booth salespeople suddenly became ill, so we're one salesperson short."Sayer admitted.
"Oh dear."Johanna said worriedly. "That's a problem."
"Well, I can't run the booth since I have my own one."Claire responded.
"If you don't mind, let me help out."Brock suggested.
"You would, Brock?"Johanna asked. "That would be wonderful."
"Very thoughtful of you."Claire responded.
"Well, so it's all settled."Sayer declared and patted Brock's back. "Time's wasting. So let's go."
Afterwards...
Ash and Denise were battling Barry and Lucas with Kirlia and Pikachu against Barry's Heracross and Lucas' Floatzel.
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"Ash ordered.
"Kirlia use Magical Leaf!"Denise ordered.
Pikachu started with a Quick Attack but Heracross blocked it while Kirlia sent Magical Leaf towards Floatzel, but the Sea Weasel dodged the attack.
"Heracross, get'm back!"Barry ordered. "Use Horn Attack!"
"Floatzel use Water Pulse!"Lucas ordered.
Heracross lands a strike at Pikachu using Horn Attack and Floatzel attacked Kirlia with Water Pulse.
Pikachu recovered from Heracross' attack as Kirlia landed back next to him.
"Hey!"Ash sneered. "Not bad, Barry!"
"Not bad? Awesome."Barry answered. "The truth is I'm a gazillion time stronger than you will ever be in a gazillion years."
Denise and Lucas shared a smirk with each other.
"Your Floatzel is stronger than before, Lucas!"Denise admitted.
"Thanks."Lucas thanked with a smile. "I say the same with your Kirlia."
Barry suddenly cried out in shock causing Ash, Lucas, Denise and Dawn to look at him.
"What's with you, Barry?"Dawn asked.
"Prinplup."Prinplup chirped.
"Will I be a yellow nosed macaria!"Barry shouted and pointed at the sky. "Check that out!"
Ash, Lucas, Denise and Dawn followed Barry's gaze and noticed a Xatu flying over.
"It's a Xatu!"Ash responded.
"No way!"Lucas said in disbelief.
Dawn looked Xatu up on her Pokédex.
"Xatu the Mystic Pokemon."Dawn's Pokédex buzzed. "This unusual Pokemon can see the past and the future as well. It watches the sun's movement all day long."
"Whoa."Denise commented. "It's a Psychic and Flying type."
"Kirlia."Kirlia said gently.
"No time to goof off!"Barry declared and looked at Heracross. "Heracross, let's move!"
Barry runs off following it with Ash, Denise, Lucas and Dawn in pursuit.
"Hey Barry!"Ash called out.
"What about the battle?"Dawn asked.
"Sorry, but I got no time for battling since the moment is finally here!"Barry admitted.
"Unbelievable."Denise retorted. "And you were the one who asked for a battle in the first place."
"But where are you going anyway?"Lucas questioned.
"Duh, straight ahead!"Barry responded. "I'm positive I saw it a long time ago!"
"Come on!"Ash encouraged. "Saw what?"
As the young trainers continued running, they see a big tent up ahead with a Grumpig, a Mr. Mime, a Seel and an Alakazam outside doing circus tricks and the Xatu they've followed was perched on the rooftop.
"Yes! I knew it!"Barry remarked. "So it wasn't a dream after all!"
"Is this part of the festival too?"Ash asked.
"I never seen this tent before."Lucas commented. "But maybe it is?"
"I doubt it."Dawn responded. "Even if it were, no one would come out here to watch."
"But you have seen this before, isn't Barry?"Denise asked.
"Yeah, it was before and during the festival."Barry admitted. "But at that time I was too young. So they didn't let me go to the tent that day."
The a clown approached the five trainers and invites them inside the tent.
"Hello! Hello!"the clown greeted in a cheerful tone. "Pokemon trainers! Glad that you've come! Time are wasting! So let's go!"
"No need to tell me!"Barry stated confidently.
Barry started heading to the tent causing Ash, Denise, Lucas and Dawn to follow after him.
"Go where?"Dawn asked.
"What's inside anyway?"Ash questioned.
"Maybe there is a circus show inside."Lucas suggested.
"I wonder if they are also selling cotton candy inside."Denise remarked.
"Allow me to escort all of you into a wonderful place that connects the past, present and the future!"the clown declared with a smile. "Off you go!"
Barry, Ash, Denise, Lucas and Dawn headed into the tent causing a bright flash of light to shun on them.
Then there was black out.
Ash slowly woke up and found himself in a field of tall grass.
"Huh? What's this?"Ash said as he stood up to call out to his friends. "Pikachu! Denise! Dawn! Barry! Lucas!"
There was no respond.
Suddenly the ground started to rumble and Ash looked up to see an enormous Nidoking and Nidoqueen walking past him.
"Nidoking? Nidoqueen?"Ash said in surprise. "But how come those two are so big?"
Ash quickly ducked as he heard loud buzzing and a swarm of Combee flew overhead.
He then saw several other Pokemon passing by, but all of them were larger than him.
"Did I shrink?"Ash said in surprise.
Ash heard growling behind him causing him to turn around and become shocked.
"Mightyena!"Ash panicked.
The pack of Mightyena started chasing Ash causing him to start running and dive into a hole to save himself.
When the pack of Mightyena were gone, Ash stood up from the hole and sighed in relief.
"That was close."Ash said with a hint of relief.
Ash looked up again and saw a Natu chirping as it hopped away.
"A Natu!"Ash responded and went out of the hole. "I better find the others quick!"
Meanwhile...
Dawn finds herself standing along a riverbank while calling for her companions.
"Prinplup! Dennie!"Dawn called out. "Ash! Barry! Lucas! Hey!"
Dawn quickly hid behind a rock as she sees a Fearow flying overhead, a Magikarp and a Feebas jumped out of the water.
"How did they get so big and I so small?"Dawn asked worriedly. "Not only that. Where am I?"
"Natu."A voice said. "Natu."
Dawn looked over to see a Natu on the ground, silently looking at the water.
"Natu...let's see."Dawn suggested.
Dawn reached for her Pokédex to scan the pokemon.
"Natu the Little Bird Pokémon."Dawn's Pokedex buzzed. "Natu evolves into Xatu and skillfully picks from cactus plants, avoiding buds and spines. It appears to skip about to move."
Natu then hopped away and headed to the other side.
"I gotta find Prinplup."Dawn stated and took out her pokeballs. "I need everyone's help."
Dawn wanted to send her pokemon out but her pokeballs were not working.
"Oh no! My pokeballs are not working!"Dawn said in shock and frowned. "I'll go find Prinplup myself!"
Denise was walking in a forest, looking for Kirlia and her friends.
"Kirlia! Ash!"Denise shouted. "Dawn! Barry! Lucas! Where are you?!"
Denise's voice echoed around the forest, but no one responded to her call.
"It's useless to shout."Denise sighed sadly.
Suddenly Denise saw a big Dratini slowly heading her way causing her to freak out and quickly move out of the way.
Denise looked above the sky and saw a flock of Murkrow flying past her head.
"What?!"Denise shouted in shock. "How did I get so small?! That's not possible!"
"Natu."
Denise stopped panicking, when she saw a small Natu skipping past her.
"A Natu."Denise said in surprise. "It looks almost like that Xatu."
The Little Bird pokemon paid no attention to Denise as it continued walking away.
"I should follow it."Denise suggested firmly. "Maybe it can lead me where Kirlia and the others are."
Denise stood up and started following after the Natu.
Barry was sitting on the edge of a cliff, watching groups of over-sized Tauros, Sandslash and Dodrio graze.
"Wow! These pokemon are huge!"Barry stated in amazement. "Wow! These Pokemon are huge! Who knew this place would be so fun? I'm sure glad I came here!"
"Natu."
Barry looked down when he saw Natu walking by from below him.
"A Natu? Oh yeah! Heracross has gotta see this!"Barry remarked and notice Heracross wasn't around. "Wait, where is Heracross anyway? Heracross! Hey! Heracross!"
In the Twinleaf Festival...
Claire was at her booth grilling her homemade takoyaki octopus balls in a grill pan and putting them in small boxes to give them to her costumers.
"Alright, everyone! Here!"Claire replied as she handed a few boxes to her costumers. "One for you! Three for you and your boyfriend! And two for you, young children! Enjoy!"
When the costumers were gone, Claire wiped away the sweat in her forehead and sighed.
Suddenly a familiar girl with caramel brown hair walked up to Claire with an Espeon next to her.
"Hi, Mrs Diamond."Amy said with a wave.
"Hello there, Amy."Claire greeted kindly. "How do you do? It's been a while since I last saw you."
"I'm doing fine, thank you."Amy answered. "Is Lucas here? I wanted to ask him something."
"Oh sorry, dear."Claire apologised as she checked her grill pan. "His not here at the moment. His busy hanging out with Denise and other friends of his in the forest."
An annoyed smiled grew on Amy's face at the mention of Denise before bringing her attention back on Claire.
"Well. Can I help you make some takoyaki until he comes back?"Amy suggested. "I'm quite a baker, you know."
"Why thank you, dear."Claire answered with a grateful smile. "You're such a kind hearted girl."
Lucas shouted in terror as he was chased by a bunch of Beedrill that wanted to sting him with their sharp stingers.
"Hey! Leave me alone!"Lucas shouted. "I don't have time to waste on you!"
Lucas continued running, but accidentally dropped on the floor as the Beedrill were coming closer to him.
Suddenly a figure jumped forward and sent boulders hurling at the Beedrill causing them to be thrown back and fly away from the area.
Lucas looked behind and saw the figure was none other than Riolu but larger.
"Whoa! Riolu! It's you!"Lucas said in awe. "Your big too!"
Riolu smiled and picked up Lucas to hug him.
"Okay. Okay."Lucas chuckled. "I'm happy to have found you too. Let's get out of here before those Beedrill come back."
Riolu carefully held Lucas before he started jumping from tree to tree to avoid any possible danger.
Denise continued walking and soon found herself in front of a lake.
"I lost sight of that Natu."Denise scoffed. "Now I just need to figure out how to walk past this river."
As Denise walked up to the lake, an angry Gyarados suddenly emerged from the water and roared at her.
"Yikes!"Denise shrieked. "A Gyarados!"
The Gyarados prepared to fire Hyper Beam at Denise causing her to shut her eyes from seeing the attack.
Suddenly Kirlia jumped forward and attacked Gyarados with Confusion to stop the Atrocious Pokneon from attacking again.
Kirlia then defeats the Gyarados with Ice Punch and sending it down back into the lake.
Kirlia glanced at her shrunken trainer and gave her a smile.
"Kirlia."Kirlia greeted with a wave.
"Kirlia!"Denise sighed with a relieved smile. "You found me! I thought I lost you!"
"Kirlia."Kirlia giggled gently. "Kirlia."
Kirlia carefully nudged her tiny trainer with her face.
"Thank you for stopping that Gyarados."Denise thanked. "Now let's go find everyone else."
"Natu."
Denise and Kirlia notice a Natu passing by in a field causing the trainer to quickly speak up.
"Kirlia! Follow that Natu!"Denise ordered. "It probably knows where the others are!"
"Kirlia!"Kirlia responded with a nod.
Kirlia started running with Denise safely in her hands to follow after the Natu.
Ash was walking in a forest as the sky started to turn dark above him.
"Pikachu! Dawn!"Ash called out. "Denise! Lucas! Barry!"
Ash moved out of the way as a Rattata scurried past him.
"Whoa! Sure makes you feel weird to almost run into a tiny Rattata!"Ash declared.
Ash felt something on his foot and saw he accidentally stepped on a Spearow's feather causing him to shout in fear.
The Pallet Town trainer started running as the Spearow began chasing him.
"Sorry!"Ash apologised. "I didn't mean it!"
The Spearow continued to follow Ash but was taken out by Pikachu, who was also larger than normal.
"Pikachu!"Ash chuckled and rushed up to his electric type pokemon. "Hey, buddy. It looks like you didn't shrink down like me."
Suddenly the Spearow recovered and called out to its group that appeared to surround the duo.
A group of Spearow show up and Pikachu takes Ash onto his back to run away from the flying types as it started to rain.
"Pikachu! Move it!"Ash ordered. "They're gaining on us!"
As the group of Spearow were getting closer, Pikachu stopped running and dropped Ash down.
Pikachu used Iron Tail and Thunderbolt to get rid of the Spearow.
The Mouse Pokemon went up to Ash to check if he was alright.
"I'm alright, Pikachu."Ash assured and went on Pikachu's back. "I'm fine."
Pikachu continued running as the rain ceased and the sky started becoming sunny again.
"I wonder where Piplup and everyone else could be."Dawn said.
Dawn shrieked in fear and flinched when an attack suddenly landed right in front of her feet.
When she looked up, Dawn saw several Ariados crawling on a giant spider web they had spun.
"Ariados!"Dawn gasped.
Dawn suddenly gets attacked by a group of Ariados which use their strings and trap her in their web.
"Stay away from me!"Dawn screamed in fright.
Suddenly a Bubble Beam was fired at the Ariados to move them away from Dawn.
Dawn opened her eyes and saw Prinplup glaring at the lone Ariados that had been left on the web.
"Prinplup!"Dawn called out.
Prinplup broke the web around Dawn with his Bubble Beam and caught her in his flippers.
"Wow!"Dawn replied with a smile. "Thanks for saving me and look, you're still the same size as you were before."
"Prinplup."Prinplup chirped.
Dawn and Prinplup notice the Ariados preparing to attack them again.
The Penguin Pokemon went in front of his trainer as the Ariados attacked him with Poison Sting.
Prinplup used Bide to defeat the Ariados and sent them back.
"Let's go while we still can!"Dawn ordered.
Denise and Kirlia were getting closer to the Natu that they were chasing.
"Natu! Wait!"Denise protested. "Slow down!"
As Denise and Kirlia followed Natu, they suddenly bump into Ash, Pikachu, Dawn, Prinplup, Lucas, Riolu, Barry, and Heracross, who were all following the same Natu.
"Man! I had enough to hear!"Barry shouted. "Someone it's going to get fined big time!"
"Barry! Dennie!"Dawn remarked. "Ash! Lucas!"
"We found you guys!"Denise chuckled.
"Great to see everyone is alright."Ash declared.
"You can say that again."Lucas agreed with a nod.
Pikachu, Prinplup, Kirlia and Heracross greeted each other, feeling happy that they were together again.
"Natu!"Natu tweeted while flapping its wings. "Natu!"
"Natu, I was chasing after it."Barry explained. "Hoping it might be able to do something or know something that might be able to help us go back to our regular size."
"It lead us to each other, so I guess it might know how."Denise insisted.
"Hey!"Dawn called out. "So what do we do?"
"You got to help us out!"Ash begged. "Natu help us!"
Then the Natu created an illusion of the Tent.
"Hey! It's the tent!"Barry said. "But where in the world did it go?"
Suddenly the vision vanished and Natu summoned a Camerupt in its place.
"A Camerupt!"Lucas said in disbelief.
The Camerupt started approaching the trainers and their pokemon.
"Prinplup use Whirlpool!"Dawn ordered.
"Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"Ash ordered.
"Kirlia use Magical Leaf!"Denise ordered.
"Riolu use Aura Sphere!"Lucas ordered.
Prinplup, Pikachu, Kirlia and Riolu fired their attacks at Camerupt, but it takes no damage.
"Camerupt didn't feel a thing!"Ash said in shock.
"How can that be?!"Dawn asked.
"It doesn't make sense!"Denise scowled.
"There is something weird about this Camerupt."Lucas retorted.
Reminded by the Hit-the-Camerupt game, Barry comes up with the idea that they should hit it on the rings on its side.
"You gotta hit Camerupt on the side!"Barry admitted and ran to the other side. "Aim for the bullseye!"
Ash, Dawn, Denise and Lucas stared at Barry in confusion.
"Heracross, Double Edge!"Barry ordered. "Let's go!"
Heracross fired a Double-Edge and one of Camerupt's craters erupt.
"I get it now!"Denise gasped in realisation. "Kirlia use Ice Punch!"
Kirlia hits Camerupt with Ice Punch causing its first crater to erupt again.
"Prinplup, Bubble Beam!"Dawn ordered. "Go!"
Prinplup fired a Bubble Beam and the other crater erupted.
"Ash! Lucas!"Barry shouted. "Have Pikachu and Riolu attack too!"
"Right!"Ash agreed. "Pikachu use Thunderbolt!"
"Riolu use Force Palm!"Lucas ordered. "Now!"
Pikachu and Riolu used Thunderbolt and Force Palm at Camerupt causing it to send out a large explosion.
Natu stepped in front and bursted into light.
Afterwards...
Ash, Lucas, Barry, Dawn and Denise all find themselves back in their normal sizes.
"What just happened?"Ash asked.
"Hey, it looks like it worked."Lucas stated in relief.
"We're back to normal!"Dawn remarked.
"Thank goodness!"Denise chuckled.
Heracross pointed at the sky and the group see Xatu flying above them.
"Xatu!"Barry called out and began to run off. "Hey! Slow down!"
Barry tried to follow Xatu again but he ended up bumping into somebody that was his father, Palmer.
Palmer was a tall man, who had orange eyes and yellow hair. He wore a green coat with yellow buttons, a white shirt, brown pants with a black belt, black boots and black gloves.
Both Barry and Palmer were surprised to see each other.
"Barry?"Palmer asked.
"Huh?!"Barry gasped. "Dad! It's you!"
Lucas' eyes widen while Denise's eyes sparkled seeing Barry's father.
"Dad?"Ash said in confusion.
"Your Barry's father?"Dawn responded. "Whoa."
"Yes, I'm Palmer."Palmer replied. "Nice to meet you."
Back in the Twinleaf Festival...
Amy covered her mouth and yawned tiredly as she sat on a box inside Claire's booth.
"Whoa."Amy groaned as she removed her apron. "Who would've thought running a booth would be so hard?"
"It is exhausting, but you get used to it in the end."Claire explained and smiled. "Thanks to you, I was able to make more customers happy today. You should be proud."
Amy was completely surprised at Claire's words as the woman began putting some boxes away.
"I made you and others happy?"Amy said quietly and looked down with a sad expression. "No one has ever said that to me before. You are the first."
Espeon snuggled against Amy's legs to comfort her while the light of the setting sun shun on her.
Meanwhile...
Palmer was heading out of the forest with Barry, Lucas, Ash, Dawn and Denise in tow.
"Interesting."Palmer declared. "So you've visited Xatu's Forest as well."
"It wasn't a dream, was it?"Barry asked. "Things didn't seem right."
"You tell me if it was a dream or reality."Palmer responded. "It all depends on you."
"Dad, what do you mean?"Barry questioned.
"I mean the past creates the future."Palmer admitted. "Depending on how hard you work in the present. That effort becomes your past and that connects to your future."
"You're absolutely right, Palmer."Denise remarked.
"Everyone has their own future and decide how they want to be in life."Lucas complemented.
"Indeed."Palmer agreed. "Also it said that Xatu is a pokemon that can see both the past and the future. Your youth may have caused past possibilities and so it decided to remind you of past events."
"Let's see..."Dawn started and looked at Prinplup. "Today Prinplup, you helped me out of the Ariados web."
"Prinplup."Prinplup chirped.
Ash smiled at Pikachu.
"And you remember how we were being chased by those Spearows?"Ash asked, remembering the event that happened of the day when they first met. "You know back in the forest."
"Today Riolu saved me by a swarm of Beedrills."Lucas chuckled. "Which reminds me of an event that happened no so long ago."
"Well, it can't be worse than the time I trained with Kirlia in a Gyarados' lake territory."Denise joked. "That's for sure."
Riolu and Kirlia share a smile with each other as they followed their trainers and companions back in the Twinleaf Festival, where a huge crowd of people was around a figure.
Suddenly Denise's eyes widen and gasped in awe since she recognised the figure straight away.
The figure was a woman with tan skin, blue eyes and wild black hair with many yellow hair pins in it. She wore a midriff-baring yellow top with long sleeves and lacy white trim around her neck and cleavage, along with blue skinny jeans and yellow high heels. She also has trimmed sparkling nails and a golden navel piercing.
It was Dahlia!
