ugh sorry about the absence; I've been busy with helping my parents redo our deck the past week... and its STILL not done, were just taking a break for bad weather. Anyway, happy father's day if it applies to anyone reading this!

Continuing the story from last entry:

Entry 101

...Things were not different.

Apparently, me passing off one joke gave the twins and Snotlout "permission" to make more. I decided I'd had enough for the day when Snotlout straight up tried to pull my prosthetic off me because Fishlegs said he needed a hammer. Luckily, Astrid wasn't there to see that… she probably wouldn't have held back like yesterday.

"Snotlout! That's not what I meant!" Fishlegs said.

"Oh, come on, it's perfect!"

"But Hiccup needs that; you can't just take it from him!" Fishlegs scolded. "I'll just fly home quickly…" he thought for a moment. "Actually, Hiccup, can you and Toothless grab the wood and bring it to my house? We can finish working there."

I nodded, getting on Toothless and having him pick up the unfinished cart. When we got to Fishlegs' house, he told me to come inside with him. It was kind of weird, because I hadn't been in Fishlegs' house since we were little… but it was just how I remembered it back then.

"Sorry about that. I figured you might want to get out of there…" he said once we set the project pieces down.

"Ah, it's not really a big deal…" I replied. "He's always been like that."

Fishlegs made a sound that could have been mistaken for a Terrible Terror. "He… he has, hasn't he. That's… just unfair." He looked back at me. "I'm really sorry, Hiccup. I should've stood up for you…"

"It's okay, Fishlegs," I assured him, smiling. "You've more than made up for it." He smiled back. "But still, thanks for the save, either way. I'm glad I can count on you in moments like these."

Fishlegs didn't say anything else, but he didn't need to. So, we finished building the new apple cart in his house, and by the time I left, everyone else was back home.

I really do hope that those three come around in the end. But for now… I'm just happy to have two people I can call friends.
