A Deal is a Deal
A pair of redheads was drawing quite a bit of attention as they sat drinking coffee in Starbucks. Thankfully the onlookers were not listening in the conversation, merely just taking photos. The woman was Mary Jane Watson-Parker well known model and actress, named Life's Sexiest Woman Alive twice and had graced the cover of numerous magazines including Playboy and Penthouse despite not appearing nude in either. She drew attention no matter where she was considering she was one of those people who was honestly beautiful. Her coffee partner was not anyone that was known in this world, but was more than famous in his own. Sirzechs Lucifer was the literal King of Devils, the undisputed strongest of the current Four Satans of Underworld. Given that one of his contemporaries could accidentally wipe Japan off the map by sparkling carelessly that was saying something. Nobody who observed his would have ever guessed he was anything but a very handsome man who looked like he could have been Mary Jane's long lost older brother.
"I was surprised that you summoned me again, Mary Jane. It's been, what, twenty years for you since we spoke and from the funds that keep rolling into my accounts, I would say you are still wildly successful as a model." Sirzechs said after he took a moment to savor his mocha. Unlike what people would have assumed he loved the simple things. "I have to say, you are quite lovely. It's interesting to see what my sister will look like in about ten years."
"Twenty two to be exact, I'm thirty four." MJ offered the slight correction. She remembered when she had accidentally summoned the kindly Devil King the first time. Her father's carelessness had led to her being horribly scarred in an accident. She had not cared about the bullying over her facial scars, but it had destroyed her dreams of being a model and actress. Sirzechs had offered to give her the appearance of his little sister in return for a tenth of everything she would ever earn with her beauty. He'd laughed off her offer of a soul saying that Devils didn't deal in those anymore. Of course with what she wanted now, she wasn't too sure she wouldn't have to pay with that today. "How much do you keep track of my life?"
"Ohhh, just the major events, I've not resorted to spying on your entire life. This universe is so chaotic but some of it has been entertaining." Sirzechs admitted with a shrug on his shoulders. "I know the broad strokes of everything, but I am not certain why you summoned me. One would think you'd deal with the demon that approached you and your husband." The way the redhead spat out the word demon a person would have thought it was poison in his mouth.
"Well, that's the thing. With all the shit Mephisto has done I don't trust him as far as I could throw the Rhino." Mary Jane said simply. "Healing Aunt May and hiding Peter's identity for the simple cost of our Marriage? I know a deal that looks too good to be true when I see it. He gains nothing from the deal and that is not his style."
"He gains your daughter, body and soul." Sirzechs shrugged. "Giving him your marriage means he gets your child: a powerful spider-totem who is also a mutant."
Mary Jane stared at Sirzechs for a full minute before that sunk in completely. In all the years since May had been stillborn, Mary Jane had done all she could to avoid thinking of her daughter. It had destroyed both her and Peter on levels that nothing had ever come close to until recently. So it wasn't strange that neither of them had thought of little May at all in this deal. "Fuck… that's twisted."
"Nearly as much as Osborn stealing her in the first place." Sirzechs replied casually as he took a bite of his croissant. He might be a kind being who valued family, but he was a devil and nothing he ever did was entirely altruistic. It was in the rules of being a Devil after all. "Your little May is being raised by Peter's enemies. She is being trained to assassinate him when the time is right."
"Oh God!" MJ blurted out and covered her mouth in sheer horror. Tears streamed for her eyes as she realized just how far Normon Osborn would go to destroy Peter. "I was just going to ask for what Mephisto offered, but…"
"Well, my price will be your Marriage, but not in the same way as that Demon." Sirzechs again spat out the word like poison showing it was definitely his distaste for the being in particular. "As far as you'll remember Peter will have disappeared shortly before you found out you were pregnant. You will have your daughter back and Aunt May will be hale and hardy to help you raise your little girl. None of his enemies will have ever connected Peter Parker and Spider-Man, not even Norman Osborn. Peter will have to serve my little Sister in return for the return of your daughter."
MJ stared dumbfounded at Sirzechs. Could she give up the love of her life? The man who made her realize she was more than just a pretty face and hot body. Peter had changed her for the better and she loved him almost more than anything, except their child. Mary Jane had loved little May just a touch more than Peter, but could she live with trading him away for her daughter? The answer wasn't nearly as hard as she imagined. She just had questions and other demands.
"How can my agreement lead to Peter having to serve your sister? Doesn't he have to consent?" Mary Jane decided to go right for the big question first.
"Marriage vows are interesting that way," Sirzechs shrugged. "There have been countless husbands who have offered their wives up to devils as payment to contracts. Wives aren't much better to be honest, it's just that until recently not many women were raised with the belief they owned their husband in such a manner." He chuckled softly then took another sip of his coffee. "You can make the deal and it's binding on Peter, especially as this is not causing him any harm. Even after your marriage is dissolved it will remain in effect."
"Couldn't he serve her and remain married to me?" Mary Jane asked after a moment.
"Your marriage is the price for healing Aunt May and the erasure of his secret identity." Sirzechs countered with a shrug. "Him serving my sister is for the return of your daughter and wiping her memory of the programming those monsters have done. This is a rather good deal for you, Mary Jane. I understand your reluctance, I truly do. If I had to sacrifice my marriage to Grayfia for my son Millicas I would be torn as well, but I would choose Millicas every time."
"Fine, but don't alter my memories nor Peter's." Mary Jane said after a moment. "I want him to know I made a deal to save Aunt May that wouldn't take away the happy memories we had, but don't you dare let him know about Little May."
"That will work, but he will likely resent you for this." Sirzechs smiled as he snapped his fingers and provided a contract to be signed. "You can read it if you want."
"No offense, but I will." Mary Jane took the contract and began perusing the contents.
Rias Gremory stared at her older brother like he was a moron. To be fair the man was imitating the infamous Will Smith pose that has been seen countless memes. Rias had seen this pose too many times; usually when Sirzechs was presenting her a new gift that he swore would knock her socks. She had to admit a few of them had, including the fully functional Aphrodite A cosplay suit he talked Ajuka Beelzebub into making her for her twelfth birthday. However this time he was presenting a rather unassuming man. He had literally teleported into the ORC clubroom with the man and introduced him to her as Peter Parker and expected her to gaga. Rias would admit the brown eyed brunette was handsome by human standards. He didn't have that too perfect look that most supernatural beings had. However he had the rugged muscled body that Rias appreciated in her cousin Sairaorg Bael, even if the frame was a bit smaller. Overall, Rias would say she really liked the looks of the man, but that couldn't be the only selling point as her brother was acting like this was the best present he ever gave her.
"Well, he's certainly handsome, Onii-sama. However, I am not so shallow as to just take on Peerage members just because they are cute. That's more Riser's thing than mine." Rias commented in complete deadpan. "You're acting like you brought me the Holy Grail of servants."
"How can you not be excited, Ria-tan? I worked hard to get him for you." Sirzech was pouting now as he dropped his pose. "I had to travel through the Dimensional Gap to find him. I negotiated a deal and effectively stole him away from another Devil King. I had to smuggle him here so Serafall-chan didn't try to steal him."
"Serafall-sama isn't the type to chase after any boys for her peerage, even handsome ones." Rias rolled her eyes at what she thought was an outrageous lie on her brother's part. "No offense meant, Parker-san."
"None taken, so far the worst thing you've called me is handsome." Peter Parker was chuckling at the scene. Sirzechs had been bragging that his little sister would smother him with hugs and kisses for the thoughtful gift. It was a little funny seeing that his prediction was falling flat. This was almost worth agreeing to the deal all by itself.
What Rias was unaware of was that she was being evaluated. At first sight Peter had mistaken the red head for Mary Jane's twin, but it only took a few moments to see the differences. Rias's hair was crimson, hung down to her thighs and sported the most adorable ahoge he'd seen. Her eyes were a captivating seafoam green and showed her every emotion if you knew what to look for. Rias's figure was shocking similar to Mary Jane's, except her bust was fuller. Her face was similar, but was more… perfect… was the only word that came to Peter's mind. Her physical appearance was not the only thing, Peter was evaluating. After many years of dealing with the spandex set he'd learned to read people rather well from their actions and surroundings. Rias held herself with the poise and grace only seen in those who were nobility and royalty. The books on the shelves spoke of wide ranging interests from Archaeology to Zen Meditation as well as numerous mystical tomes. She kept several pictures of her family and friends near her desk, which spoke of her close bonds with other. Finally was the slight mess on a mostly organized desk and that spoke of someone who worked for what she had. This told him that Rias did not make decisions lightly and she just needed more of a push.
"Sirzechs, perhaps Miss Gremory would be more excited if she understood just who she was receiving as a servant." Peter said after he finished his analysis of the eighteen year old. "I mean you did just introduce me as Peter Parker and told her nothing else."
"That… would probably help considerably." Sirzechs had gone to contradict Peter but realized that there were only three people in the world who know what Peter could do and Rias was not one of them. "I could tell her, but perhaps a demonstration would work better. Ria-tan I suggest pitting your other servants against Peter-kun. If you are not impressed by his showing, you won't have to reincarnate him."
"Onii-sama, don't be ridiculous. How is Parker-san supposed to impress me by losing to my peerage?" Rias frowned at her brother. "You said they are quite powerful for their age."
"Yes they are quite powerful, Ria-tan." Sirzechs nodded. "Together they might actually pose a decent challenge for Peter-kun."
"Question: What happens if she decides not to reincarnate me?" Peter was wondering for a moment if found a loophole exit to the contract. His service to Rias was a HUGE part of the payment for what he and Mary Jane received. He had no illusions that some things would change if Rias refused to accept him.
"Then the deal is off. I will restore everything back to the way it was before you signed the contract." Sirzechs shrugged nonchalantly. He might have been a nice guy for a devil, but the operative word was devil. "I am sorry to be difficult about this, but I expended quite a bit of power and traded a few favors to be able to do this at all."
"Well, that's fair I guess." Peter sighed heavily. Steeling himself for what was coming, he turned his attention to the redhead behind the desk to issue his challenge. However the moment he locked eyes with Rias he saw only concern.
"What did you ask for, Parker-san?" Rias asked her voice tinged with concern. The Gremory heiress could see the haunted look in Peter's eyes when her brother stated things would return the way they were. "What could have been worth millennia of service to someone you had never even met?"
"I'm not sure. I do know that my Aunt May's life was saved from the sniper's bullet she took. I know she and my Ex-wife are now safe from my enemies." Peter said with a slight shrug of his shoulders. "We would have received the same from Mephisto for just our marriage being erased from history, so I am not sure what Mary Jane gained in addition for what is effectively selling me into slavery." He paused for a moment as he needed to gather himself so he could continue without his voice breaking. "Your brother here wouldn't tell me, but I have my suspicions. On the off chance I am right, I'll prove that you'll want to keep me as a servant."
If Rias hadn't been trained to suppress her emotional responses she would have rushed forward and hugged the man before her. There were many tales of men selling their spouses and even children to devils in pacts. Most of them predated the Devil Civil War, but there had been quite a few afterwards. It was always a tale of betrayal and greed, something she didn't think her brother would involve her in, yet here she was embroiled in one of those messes. Rias was always rescuing strays. So far every member of her peerage was one. There were some who thought her tendency to save people was more fitting for an Angel than a Devil, but Rias would not change that about herself for the world.
"Proving yourself won't be necessary." Rias finally spoke after what was about ten seconds. Rising from her seat behind her desk, the buxom devil strode up to Peter and then hugged him like he was a long lost friend. "You have a place in my family, Peter-kun. I won't ever abandon you."
*Click! Flash!* Sirzechs Lucifer, the King of Devils, had just taken a picture with his new StarkTech Parker 2000 Digital Camera. "Aww, Ria-tan likes her gift. This is going in the scrapbook with the rest."
Rias Gremory was flummoxed. She was trying to reincarnate Peter as a devil, but the Rook piece she had used just wasn't doing anything. It simply sat on Peter's bare chest like it was some ordinary chess piece. It had been the same with the Knight before it. This meant that Peter had a great deal of power, more so that either Kiba or Koneko. She briefly considered attempting her Bishop in the hopes that it would be like the last time she used one, but decided against it. Her brother had said Peter's talents rested in his physical abilities and he lacked magical talent. With a frown on her face she picked up the Rook.
"Okay, not to be the doofus, but what's wrong?" Peter asked as he looked up at Rias's frustrated expression. He been told there was a method for reincarnating others into Devils, but he wasn't given the specific on it. "Am I supposed to be doing something to help the process along? Like chanting, or declaring my loyalty? Maybe the fusion dance?"
"Ummm… no… Peter-kun, that isn't necessary. The Evil Pieces are supposed to work automatically, even on those who've been dead for a short while." Rias explained before biting on her thumb in thought. "Basically it works by using part of my Power to remake you into a Devil. How much power is needed depends on your power relative to my own. Each Pawn is roughly one eighth of my power…"
"Ah so, a Knight would be worth three pawns as would a Bishop, and a Rook is worth five." Peter continued on the explanation by extrapolating what he knew of Chess. "Can you combine pieces?"
"Yes, but the pieces need to be the same to avoid possible issues," Rias nodded. "I've already used my Queen, one Rook, one Knight, and one Bishop, but I do have all my pawns. I am just surprised that you need more than a Rook as I am pretty powerful."
"Yeah, I kinda get that sense around you." Peter nodded. He wasn't the least bit insulted. "Just being near you reminds me of Jean Grey and isn't just the hair and eyes. I don't know what to tell you."
"Well, it could be you've got some hidden potential you haven't tapped. Onii-sama does have an eye for talent, after all." Rias laid six of her Pawns on Peter's bare chest and waited a moment. When there was no result, she added another. "Seven Pawns and still no result? That's unheard of." Rias mumbled before putting the eighth Pawn in place. "Finally!"
The eight Pawn pieces glowed, bathing Rias in vermillion light, as they moved on Peter's chest into position as if they were mimicking the spider-legs of his alter-ego's insignia. For the briefest of moments, the Evil Pieces were superimposed with the image of massive spider. Then they began to meld into Peter's chest signaling the beginning of the reincarnation.
"I, Rias Gremory, call upon Peter Parker and lay claim to his body and soul." Rias intoned as part of the ritual. "Cast off your old life and bonds, and rejoice in your new life as my servant!"
Peter Parker's eyes rolled back in his skull as the flood of power flowed into his body making his back arch. Reincarnation through the Evil Pieces was just that, the body and soul were reborn as Devils with every bit of power they being had, plus a bit more. The power of the Evil Pieces was literally remaking Peter's flesh and soul into that of a Devil. Unfortunately there was a snag with the process. Decades ago, Peter's DNA had been irrevocably altered into something more than human and his soul had been touched by the Web of Life. He had become a Spider-Totem which came with a different form of reincarnation. While normally Parker Luck would have the two forms battling it out and cancelling each other out, something ancient took notice of Peter at that moment and that altered everything.
Rias could only watch in shocked amazement at the sight of hundreds of spiders appearing out over magical circles and dropping onto Peter's body. Before her very eyes the many different species began weaving a cocoon around the man she had been trying to reincarnate. For a split second she considered blasting them off of her new Pawn in an attempt to save him, but something stayed her hand. With all of her other servants the reincarnation had been instantaneous. One moment they weren't connected to her, and the next she could feel them as if they were a part of her. The connection was limited, she could only tell roughly where they were and if they had need of her. Peter's connection was taking longer to form, but one part of it was active: she could sense that the cocoon was helping her servant.
Issei Hyoudou was having the best day of his life. He hadn't even started his second year at Kouh Academy and he'd been asked out by a beautiful girl. Raynare was a bit older than him, but he didn't care about age. Not considering how she dressed so sexily for their date. Her hip huggers had shown off a perfect whale tail with her black thong and her baby-tee was showing a lot of underboob. They had done all the traditional first activities, with a slight twist. For the shopping part, Raynare dragged him into Frederick's of Hollywood and they both modeled a few outfits before buying a choker for her with his initials monogrammed on it. They went to an arcade where Raynare wanted to play all the bloodiest games. She had dragged him into an R-rated movie full of tits and ass, and made comments about how she would have preferred porn. They had gone out to eat and Raynare's foot had been in his crotch for the whole meal. It was the type of date that Issei had only read about in Penthouse Forum. Now, they were finishing the date by making out in the park. Well, Raynare had called it making out. Honestly she was dry humping him as they kissed.
"Issei-kun, this has been the best date I've ever had." Raynare whispered to the boy she had just been tongue raping. "There is something you could do that would make it absolutely perfect."
"What is it?" Issei immediately pounced on the idea of making the date perfect. He wanted to impress Raynare enough there would be more dates. "What can I do, Raynare-chan?"
"Oh that's simple, come back to my apartment, and have a wild foursome with my friends Kalawarner-chan and Mitelt-chan." Raynare smiled as she saw what she said dawn on the unrepentant pervert. "If you do that, all three of us can be your girlfriends."
"You mean like a harem?" Issei asked, the hopefulness in his tone was the auditory equivalent of the puppy dog eye.
"Yes, like a harem, Issei-kun." Raynare smirked as she reeled in her target with that potent lure. 'Kill the Red Dragon Emperor? What a stupid idea. Unlike Vali this one has a working libido. With a little bit of training I'll have a loyal attack dragon to sick on the Devils. Even better is I won't have to go to any of those clubs to get a good session.'
'I'm going to be a Harem King!' Issei crowed in his mind. "Yes, let's make this the perfect date, Raynare-chan."
"Koneko-chan, why do you have a baseball bat in the clubroom?" Rias Gremory had just entered the clubroom to see the youngest girl in her peerage wound up like a batter at home plate. The smaller girl was obviously aiming for the cocoon that was hanging in one corner of the room. "It's not a piñata."
When Peter hadn't cut himself free by the next morning she had it hung in the corner so the couch was freed up. Since then each of the peerage had treated the temporary decoration differently. Kiba literally ignored it, treating it no different than he would another piece of furniture. Akeno had taken to decorating it in various ways, including painting it green and hanging Shamrocks on it for St. Patricks Day. Rias read some of her manga to it, when nobody else was around. As for Koneko, she had decided after three days she was going to open it, violently.
"Yes it is." Koneko said showing a little more emotion than she normally did. "There's treats inside."
"The only thing inside of there is Peter-kun." Rias countered. "How exactly does that translate to treats."
"Eye-candy and Beefcake." Koneko said as she started to swing…only to have the baseball bat be destroyed by the Power of Destruction when Rias caught it. Seeing the baseball bat dissolve, Koneko pouted. She had gotten it because they had warded the cocoon specifically to keep the closest part of her two feet away. "Damn it. Back to the drawing board." With that Koneko made her way to her usual spot and sat down with a huff. "It's been three whole weeks. Buchou."
"I know." Rias replied as she walked to her desk. "We will be opening the cocoon tomorrow. Kiba will be bringing an IV stand and some saline bags. Akeno will be bringing some food that won't cause refeeding syndrome as well as thiamine supplement. With how long he's been in there I am half-afraid he's been starving."
"The scent is all wrong for that." Koneko shook her head. "He'll probably still appreciate it."
Rias almost questioned how Koneko knew Peter wasn't starving, but stopped short. She remembered the reports of what her childhood was like before they were taken in Frederick Naberius. If anyone of her peerage knew what starving people smelled like, it would be Koneko. "What does he smell like then?"
"Chocolate and Spiders." Koneko replied seriously. "If you buy him aftershave, I will never forgive you."
"Maybe something cinnamon or vanilla based." Rias ventured.
Koneko considered that for a moment before nodding. "That will be acceptable."
Rias was burning the midnight oil finishing the last of the paperwork for the week contracts and pacts. As usual, Gasper the group's hikikomori managed to out earn everyone else except herself. Even her lead wasn't all that great as one would imagine. Nobody in her peerage was doing badly at all and in fact they were all well above the average for their age and rank. Something that she knew made a few other nobles jealous. However as she only had four active peerage members the cumulative was much lower than those with fifteen servants. Still she was proud that her little family was consistently in the black financially without the bounties on Stray Devils. She was engrossed in her balance sheets that she didn't notice what was happening with Peter's cocoon.
Earlier in the day, Akeno had redecorated the cocoon. She had left the silk green, but instead of being festooned with shamrocks, there were hundreds of sakura blossoms covering the surface. One would have thought that the ORC had a blooming cherry tree in their clubroom. That illusion was shattered as four giant arachnid legs pierced through the layer of spider-silk before retracting so only the tips were visible. With the sound of four pairs of scissors cutting fabric the tips moved along the surface. In moments the cocoon falls away to reveal the occupant.
Peter Benjamin Parker drops to the ground and takes a few steps, frowning a bit as something feels off. Looking down at his hand and arms he notes they look normal except for the slightly discolored patch on the back of each hand. As he concentrated on them for a moment he recognized the organic web spinnerets he used to have on his inner wrist. 'Well, I can use this and still wear the webshooters. Best of both worlds.' A moment later the stingers he had extended from the back of his had from just behind the spinneret. 'That's more convenient as well.' He was so engrossed in examining those changes he hadn't noticed he was naked or that he had company.
"Peter-kun?" Rias Gremory knew there was only one person who could have exited that cocoon. She had seen it formed. She performed the security spells to make sure it could not be stolen. She could even feel the pawn pieces at this moment. The problem was that the thirty six year old man she had met three weeks ago was not who was standing in front of her. The young man she was looking at was only sixteen if she was any judge of age. He still had the rugged muscles as before as well as the handsome face, brown hair, and chocolate brown eyes. He just looked younger, not to mention was a bit smaller. Though as she looked over him she couldn't help but think if that part of him was any smaller than when he was older, then his ex-wife was a complete moron for giving that up.
Peter looked up from his hands to see the young woman he'd pledged his life to serve. "It's me, Rias-san." He answered, but frowned as he heard his own voice. Peter had been cursed with his voice changing twice during his life. He'd gone from the typical treble as a child, to a tenor in his teens, to a baritone in his mid twenties. Now he was back to his tenor voice. "What the hell happened to my voice?"
