A.N: Hello again, everyone! Here's a short oneshot I wrote based off a suggestion from my friend WiiFan2009. It is the sequel to another oneshot I wrote a few weeks ago entitled Truth or Dare. For those who read it, it is part of my Danganronpa series, although you don't need to have read it to read this fic. There are no real spoilers for any of the games, although it's better to have played the first game to read this story.

Let me warn you: this fic is silly. Enjoy!

Hifumi's eyes shined with hope as he finished reading the letter. The Ultimate Fanfiction Writer would never have expected a letter to slide under his door when he woke up that morning, but it had been his salvation.

"Am I dreaming?!" he wondered, staring at the letter as if it was the scroll of truth. He rubbed his eyes. "Am I reading this correctly?!"

The otaku had few close friends in the class, but he had come a long way since he had enrolled. Hifumi had not quite maxed out his friendship stat with anyone, but Makoto was a good friend, and he was on good terms with people like Hina or Celeste (he hoped).

However, Kyoko Kirigiri was not on the list of people his talent and chivalry had impressed. So to receive a letter signed by the hand of the Ultimate Detective was definitely a surprise.

Especially a love letter!

"I'm really not playing truth or dare with you anymore, Makoto." Kyoko glanced at the letter sheet and grabbed her pen. "This better not land me in trouble."

Her boyfriend giggled and watched her as she got to work. "I'm sure it won't. I'll take full responsibility if something happens. After all, I'm the one who suggested it."

"Indeed, you are. Hifumi probably won't believe his eyes, especially after the cosplay incident," she added, glancing back at the Ultimate Lucky Student. "Perhaps your little joke will fail before he even gets his hopes up."

Makoto shrugged. "I'm sure it won't. I just hope it won't break his heart."

"You should have thought about it sooner, you know that?" Not that I care, after he tried to get me to cosplay for his fantasies… So, how does one even write a love letter? I've never done that before… The Ultimate Detective thought. Her field of expertise was investigations and trials, not love. Perhaps she now had a boyfriend, but it had not changed. Let's see…

"Dear Hifumi,

I just cannot keep this to myself any longer. For the longest time now, I have been forced to endure the feeling of my inner-self being dissatisfied. I felt a lack, that being the lack of a warm and familiar presence in my life. However, the second I laid eyes on you, I realized something: I had found the one I had been craving for all these years.

In fact, there is one word to name what I found when I met you, Hifumi, and this word is the most beautiful of all: love. I love you, Hifumi Yamada, and I have loved you for a long time. For all this time, I have forced myself to repress my feelings and act like my usual self. But now, I just cannot go on pretending.

Your sympathetic and passionate nature is nothing short of remarkable; I am admirative of it. Every day, I dream of becoming more akin to you, Hifumi. I dream of being closer to you, but I just could not find the words to tell you that. Now, I have.

I offer you my sincerest apologies for not saying this to you in person, but I am just so intimidated. I know it is not in my nature, but having to face the boy I love every day for so many months can do just that. My hopes are placed within your heart, Hifumi, and know that I yearn for you. There is not anything I would like to learn more than that you return my feelings.

Now, I feel better knowing you will not be kept in the dark anymore.

May you have a nice day, because this is what you deserve, my beloved.

Kyoko Kirigiri."

The detective sighed as she placed her pen back on her desk. She turned to her boyfriend and handed him the letter.

"There. You cannot imagine how embarrassed I'm feeling right now." She facepalmed, thinking, This is the stupidest thing I've ever done in my whole life. Grandfather would kill me if he knew I was writing a love letter to that pervert…

Makoto took the letter curiously and began to read it. Quickly, an amused smile appeared on his lips before it turned into a few chuckles.

"S-Stop laughing!" she ordered, flustered. "T-This is not funny!"

"I-It is, though!" the Luckster said, unable to hold back his laughter. "This is comedy gold, Kyoko! The letter itself is super cute, but just knowing who it's for is funnier than you'd think!"

Kyoko pouted as her boyfriend continued to read the fake love letter, giggling some more. Once he was done, he shook his head, clearly proud of the dare he had suggested for his girlfriend.

"Do you want me to go slide it under his door, Kyoko?" The question made the Ultimate Detective realize that he had not even planned that far. "Since I'm taking responsibility for it, it's probably better if I do, in case someone sees me."

"Makoto Naegi, are you seriously telling me that you asked me to do that without even having a plan…?"

She glared at him, more seriously than when she was only joking. The boy scratched his head embarrassedly.

"Hm… no…?" Makoto admitted, seeing his girlfriend's glare had hardened. "L-Look, I'll go put the letter under his door, and I'll tell him that it's a prank if he asks, alright? Don't worry about a thing."

She sighed. This was Makoto at his best: not organized. It was no surprise his room was always a mess. Unconvincingly, the Kirigiri Detective nodded.

"Alright, cool! You can go wait for me in the cafeteria, alright?" He leaned in and pecked her on the lips. He cradled her cheeks and smiled at her. "Don't frown like that, Kyoko; it's just a harmless little prank!" He looked at his beloved with his puppy eyes. "Can I get a kiss from my pretty girlfriend…?"

This boy… Kyoko blushed. You haven't even realized that I wrote the letter thinking of the Makoto from the past and simply replaced your name with Hifumi's… "You really are the boy I fell in love with, aren't you?" She chuckled once before kissing him back. "There you go. Happy?"

"Definitely, yeah," the Ultimate Lucky Student answered, taking a step back and blushing in turn. He turned towards the detective's door. "Well, see ya at the cafeteria, Kyoko! Love you!"

She crossed her arms and didn't reply, although she knew he knew she meant it. Once he was gone, she rolled her purple eyes.

What wouldn't I do for this silly boy…?

Hifumi closed the door to his dorm room and noticed Makoto walking in the hallways towards the cafeteria. Of course, the letter he had received had warmed the Ultimate Fanfiction Writer's heart, but it left him with a few questions.

Wasn't Miss Kirigiri supposed to be enamored with Mister Naegi…? Could this have been a distraction, perhaps?

Knowing that he had to be subtle, the otaku quickly finished locking the door and, knowing that he couldn't run to catch up to the Ultimate Lucky Student, decided to call out to him.

"Mister Naegi!" he shouted, noticing the brown-haired boy turn around almost immediately. "W-Wait up, please!"

The Luckster did as he was told, allowing Hifumi to catch up to him. He tried not to look nervous and was reassured to see that Makoto looked clueless.

"Hey, Hifumi. What's up?" Makoto asked. So far, nothing seemed off. "Did you have something to tell me?"

"Right, I actually did," the other boy replied, feeling his heart beat faster and faster. "It's about Miss Kirigiri."

Makoto cocked his head to the side, seemingly surprised. "What about Kyoko? Is it about that cosplay incident once again?"

"N-No, no, it's not, actually." The writer recalled his heartbreak when the detective had refused to cosplay as Princess Piggles for him. She had not been the only one, but she had been the angriest. "I just wanted to know if she'd been acting strangely recently. I ask you since you're the one she's with most often."

"Well," the Ultimate Lucky Student was apparently deep in thought. "I don't think so. At least, I didn't notice anything, but that might be because I can be a little clueless at times. Why do you ask?"

Hifumi felt the pressure travel through his body. Making sure not to stutter, he replied, "O-Oh, nothing… Don't worry about it, Mister Naegi."

Makoto glanced at him surprisingly but did not add anything. This was a small yet significant victory for Hifumi. After all, if Kyoko's alleged boyfriend had not heard about the letter, it probably meant that the Luckster was not a threat to him!

As the two Ultimates entered the cafeteria, Hifumi's heart skipped a beat as he noticed the Ultimate Detective already having lunch at a table. In all of her stunning beauty, she sat there, eating with grace.

Perhaps it was the fifth time of the year, but Hifumi Yamada had fallen in love with a girl from Class 78th. He just prayed that he would not mess it up, unable to notice the grin on the Ultimate Lucky Student's lips.

Kyoko sighed when the doors of the cafeteria opened, revealing Makoto and Hifumi. Her boyfriend seemed comfortable around him, and Hifumi had clearly no idea that he had been tricked.

Makoto let nothing show, and the Ultimate Detective had to admit he was convincing. After thinking about it some more, the lavender-haired girl realized that she should not feel embarrassed about all of this. After all, this was maybe the best punishment Makoto could have found for the perverted otaku: breaking his heart.

Perhaps a little cruel, but Kyoko could be that at times for those who deserved it.

I have no doubt that Hifumi will want to talk to me as soon as possible… She thought, seeing the two boys approach her table. She had prepared some food for Makoto to eat and was awaiting Hifumi's reaction.

"Hey, Kyoko!" Makoto said smilingly. Upon seeing the second plate on the table, he giggled. "Thanks for the food, Kyoko. You didn't have to bother, though."

"Don't worry about it." She gestured to the second chair, prompting Makoto to sit. She then turned in Hifumi's direction, seeing him stand there. "Can I do something for you, Hifumi? If not, I would like to have lunch with my boyfriend."

The detective made sure to stress that last word strongly. It seemed to have an effect.

"O-Oh, um… I-I had something to ask you about, Miss Kirigiri," the Ultimate Fanfic Writer said, fidgeting a bit. Kyoko's brow furrowed. "I-It's about a letter I received under my door… It was signed with your name."

Makoto perked up at this, and Kyoko had to admit once again that he was excellent at feigning surprise. "Really? Kyoko sent you a letter? What did it deal with?"

You're so adorable, you know that? The Ultimate Detective wondered, wanting to sweatdrop at her boyfriend's silliness. Still, she remained silent and stoic.

Hifumi blushed a deep shade of red, pulling out the letter from the pockets of his pants embarrassedly. "I-It was this letter… and u-uh…" the fanfiction writer paused, mumbling something under his breath.

"What did you say, Hifumi?" Makoto asked sweetly and innocently. "I didn't hear; I'm sorry."

At least Makoto's having fun. Good for him.

"I-I said it was a love letter…" he repeated, now fiddling with the letter.

The Luckster's hazel eyes widened in false surprise. His mouth formed an o in "shock" as he turned towards his girlfriend.

Well, time to put an end to this charade. Kyoko tapped her boyfriend's leg under the table to make him understand what she was going to say. "A love letter, you say? And signed by me, too?"

The other boy nodded fervently, the blush not disappearing. Hopefully, he said, "D-Does it mean…?"

Kyoko chuckled hollowly. "Oh, God no! I'm afraid there's been a misunderstanding, Hifumi." She glared at him as darkly as she could. "The truth is, I wrote you this letter as a dare, you pervert. I didn't mean any word of it as the only thing I think of you is that you are a dirty pig, understood? Consider this payback for asking me to cosplay that… thing."

The entire cafeteria could hear Hifumi's heart breaking as he suddenly felt embarrassed, but for another reason. "Oh… A-Are you sure that…?"

"Yes, I am quite sure, thank you very much." Hopefully, that'll teach him some manners… The other girls shouldn't be bothered by him now. She pointed at the letter she had written. "Now, take that letter and either shove it up your bum or use it as a tissue the next time you fantasize about one of your stupid 'waifus!'"

It was clear that Hifumi was hurt, but he did not seem able to rebut the Kirigiri Detective's sharp attack. "I-I'm sorry, Miss Kirigiri… I'll leave now…" he said, shame filling his voice.

With that, the Ultimate Fanfiction Writer left to go find another table, prompting Kyoko to sigh and Makoto to shake his head.

"That performance was Oscar-worthy, Makoto." She chuckled. "You play the part of the shocked boyfriend to perfection, you know?" The boy giggled amusingly. "While I was admittedly reluctant at first, I found a way to make this dare convenient to all of the girls in the class. This is at least something."

"Well, I hope it'll dissuade him from showing his pervy ways in front of others, yeah." Makoto took a mouthful of the pasta on his plate. He made sure to swallow it before speaking again. "It's pretty gross to think he could fantasize about my girlfriend. He probably kinda deserved it."

Kyoko nodded in agreement. "That he did. Well, enough about him." She smiled at him lovingly. "I want to have lunch with my real boyfriend, for whom I have real feelings now, alright?"

The boy blushed adorably. "Sure! That sounds like a good deal to me, haha."

Feeling her heart melt, Kyoko grinned and dug in her plate, thinking about the many love letters she could write for her one and only love Makoto…

The End.

A.N: I hope you liked it! This was fun to write, at least. If you liked it (or even if you didn't, actually), please leave a review, and I hope you have a nice day!
