Ruby found herself alone in the dorm room for once, most likely because she refused to get up that morning. Once she was up she got to work getting ready, which wasn't that that hard considering her looks were all magic based.

"Man this is so good, ready for the day with a simple swipe of the hand," Ruby said happily once the glamour was done and she was dressed for the day. "Weiss is probably super jealous she can't do this. Combing all that hair every day, I don't understand how the others can live with that!" Ruby ran a hand through her short hair and started to walk to the door out of the dorm when she stopped for a moment to look herself over in the mirror. She rubbed her chin in thought as she tried to figure out what was wrong, when it hit her.

"I have been wearing the same thing for a while now. Well, 'wearing' the same thing, but whatever." Ruby looked down at her fingers and, realizing she just air-quoted herself to herself, put her head in her palms and groaned into them. "I'm talking to myself again. Well whatever," Ruby dragged her hands down her face and looked at her reflection and after a moment of taking it in she nodded. 'A change of appearance is definitely in order,' she thought and snapped her fingers.

Ruby was surrounded by rose petals long enough for her black combat dress to be replaced with a gray sweater and overskirt with darker gray leggings. She looked the casual clothing she had worn not even a few days ago when she had fought Torchwick and that Paladin and shook her head. "No. I mean, it's nice looking, but it's not really the kind of thing I'd wear more than once."

She snapped her fingers again and her outfit changed again into the Haven uniform, which Ruby made a disgusted face at. "Not unless I have to. Uniforms, blegh!" Another snap and she changed into Cinder's usual dress. "No. Absolutely not." Ruby rubbed her eyes and sighed as she started thinking. 'Maybe I'm overthinking this? Why not something simple and believable for me to have?' One thing came to mind and Ruby slowly removed her hand from her face and snapped her fingers again to change her outfit one last time.

She looked in the mirror to look over her new outfit, which was just Yang's outfit shrunk just enough to fit her, or at least not hang off of her badly enough it would fall off in the slightest breeze. She did a quick twirl to look at the whole thing and grinned widely. "I'm a genius! And this will only be for one day, so it shouldn't be a problem." With another proud nod Ruby left the dorm to get whatever meal was being served in the dining hall.

While she was walking through Beacon Ruby noticed several people glancing her way. Not that she really cared what they were doing, but was it really so odd for her to be wearing something different? Most of them don't even know her! Once she got to the main promenade and saw Summer and Raven sitting on the Huntsmen statue she made a bee line to them.

"So that's what that was about?" Raven asked once Ruby had gotten into earshot.

"Yup, CFVY is on a mission for a while," Summer said with a nod and looked down at her sandwich, "We'll have to hold down the front for a while, which shouldn't be too difficult."

"What's the mission? Did they say that much?"

"A village sent a distress signal and needed aid for evac, so they sent CFVY. Apparently there was a lot of Grimm."

"For real? That shit's been happening far too often nowadays. I don't like it." Ruby stopped next to them and Raven was the first of the pair to notice her. "What the fuck is that?"

"What is what?" Summer asked and looked at Ruby, almost immediately giving the same look of befuddlement as Raven. "What?"

"Hey girls!" Ruby greeted with a wave before swaying slightly, "whatcha doing?"

"Just… talking."

"What are you wearing?" Raven asked flatly.

"Hey I can't help it!" Ruby defended and gestured at her outfit, "it's laundry day, this is all I could wear! That is unless you wanted me to wander around in my pajamas, which isn't happening."

"Why not wear your academy uniform?"

"No."

"…Well, she got me there," Raven said with a shrug, "I wouldn't wear it either if I didn't have to."

"Well I think it's kind of adorable," Summer said cheerfully, getting a 'what' and 'huh' from Raven and Ruby respectively. "Well, maybe that's just my nature as an only child talking, but I think it's cute when siblings share things. Clothing, experiences, naps, that kind of thing."

"Having spent most of my life forced to 'share' things with Qrow, I can guarantee you it's not as fun as you're making it seem," Raven answered annoyed.

"What, you've never worn your older brother's clothes when you were young."

"No, for many reasons as you know. And what the hell are you smoking? I'm the oldest sibling."

"You are?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah, by four minutes. It doesn't seem like a lot, but it was enough to keep me from being born on a 13th."

"…Ok?"

"Well, has he worn your clothes?" Summer asked tilting her head.

"No," Raven responded with a shake of her head.

"You sure?" Raven and Summer stared at each other for a moment before Raven's eyes narrowed dangerously and she gripped the concrete under her tightly.

"He better not have! Let's go find out."

"Sure, sounds like fun. I'll finish my sandwich on the way." Raven nodded and took off running as soon as she stood up, with Summer stopping long enough to give Ruby a wave goodbye before following.

'I really like them,' Ruby thought as she waved the girls off, 'I'm going to miss them when they're dead. Now which way was the dining hall again?'

"So how are those sessions going? Is Jaune getting any better?"

Pyrrha nodded and watched Nora bound around her in her usual energetic fashion as they walked away from lunch. "It's honestly amazing just how much progress he's made in the last few weeks. I knew he had it in him and I'm glad he's starting to see it too."

"Are you sure you're not just glad to be spending so much time with him?"

"I… don't know what you mean."

"Sure you don't." Nora stopped her prancing when she almost ran into Ruby, the latter jumping back a bit to avoid the energetic girl. "Oh sorry, I didn't see you there!"

"Yeah, I could tell," Ruby said as she rested her hands on her hips and looked both girls over, Pyrrha especially. "Well, no harm no foul I guess. Do you know the way to the dining hall?"

"Oh sure, we just came from there," Nora said and jerked a thumb behind her, "Just go back thataway and it's the big building with all the pillars."

"Yes, thank you, I know what it looks like. I just wanted to know where it was."

"Yeesh, sorry! I was just trying to be helpful. Right Pyrrha?"

"Is that… a normal outfit?" Pyrrha asked while looking very concerned at Ruby.

"What?"

"I mean, she's pretty young right? Isn't it bad for her to be wearing an outfit like that?"

"I'm standing right here," Ruby interjected and pointed at Pyrrha, "and my outfit is no worse than what you're wearing right now."

"Excuse me?"

"I'm just saying, isn't it kind of hypocritical judging me for wearing an outfit when you're wearing something just as revealing."

"My armor is not revealing!" Pyrrha crossed her arms in front of her chest, which only pressed Ruby further.

"Oh, is that what you think?" She asked with a smirk, "I was under the impression that armor was supposed to protect you, not leave a massive hole to provide eye candy for guys." That hit its mark dead on since Pyrrha flinched back and stared at Ruby with mouth agape and didn't move. For a worryingly long time.

"Uh… Pyrrha?" Nora asked leaning in front of Pyrrha, which got no reaction from the gladiator and neither did waving her hand in front of her. "Oh boy, not this again."

"Um… is she ok?" Ruby asked tilting her head slightly.

"She'll be fine. You go on ahead and get your lunch. Come on Pyrrha!" With barely another word Nora picked Pyrrha up, still not reacting and stiff as a mannequin, and slung her over her shoulder before walking past Ruby. Ruby stared after them befuddled before shaking her head and continuing her walk.

"Prude."

"So we're just camping out and I have no choice but to sit there useless because of my sprained ankle. Gotta say, that really sucked."

"I would assume so. Injuries are hardly anything to feel good about," Ren answered and took a sip of his tea. Taiyang's stories about his exploits the previous year were entertaining to be sure, but it would be better if it weren't for Yang practically hanging off of his every word.

"I wouldn't know, I've never been injured that badly," Yang gloated with a wide grin before leaning back over the table to look Taiyang dead in the eye. "So what did you do the whole time after?"

"Well, since we couldn't participate in any more of those stupid 'group activities' because of it, instead I spent the time just hanging around our campsite while the others patrolled the forest to keep Grimm away from the area. There really wasn't much else we could do since those activities could only be done as a team, but we did get that camp stove the first day so we didn't really want for anything else."

"Nice. Not that I'm worried about twisting an ankle myself, I'm not clumsy."

"Hey, holes can come out of nowhere!" Taiyang defended somewhat loudly and shook his head. "But I guess you are right in other ways. That Semblance of yours might keep you safe against most threats, as long as you're careful with it."

"And what's that supposed to mean?"

"Honestly, it's just a super powered temper tantrum." Yang flinched back in obvious offense as Taiyang continued, "Which to be fair does work for how you fight, but it can still go wrong if you just bulldoze through every enemy. One day you'll meet someone just as stubborn as you, and what'll you do if he's faster or stronger?"

"I've yet to meet a man who was stronger than me," Yang said with a roll of her eyes as she started toying with an orange on her tray and picked it up, "but I wouldn't worry too much. If I do meet someone like that and they do hurt me, I'll make them suffer." Yang punctuated it by crushing the orange swiftly, spraying juice everywhere and dripping off her hand onto the table.

"…That's dark," Ren said after a moment.

"Oh relax," Yang replied with a grin and threw the crushed fruit onto her tray before she began to stir her soup, "I wasn't talking about you. I'm not too worried anyway, I'm really tough even without my Semblance. It takes a lot to get to me."

"Yang! Do you mind if I sit next to you?"

"Ruby? Sure I don't mi-" Yang stopped mid-sentence she when she actually saw Ruby and narrowed her eyes as she took her in. Normally seeing her standing there with a tray filled with cookies would be barely worth noting (aside from Ruby indulging too much in her latest addiction while glamoured, something they'll have to have a talk about later) but then there was the fact that Ruby was wearing Yang's clothes for some reason. Yang took it all in, from the boots up to the jacket and even the fingerless gloves, and stopped at Ruby's face where she grinned widely at her.

'I don't feel good,' was the one thing Yang thought before she covered her nose and sneezed hard enough to smash her head into the soup bowl and cover her head with it.

"Shit!" Taiyang shouted and stood up while Ren scooted away from the hot soup.

"Yang! Are you ok?" Ruby said and rushed over to Yang's side, making sure not to spill any of her cookies on the way.

"I'm fine! I'm fine, it's just hot soup. I can stand the heat," Yang said shaking her head and opening her eyes through the soup as she looked down at her hands. "…Is that blood? Am I bleeding?"

"From your nose," Ren answered and leaned to get a better look, "and quite badly from the look of it."

"…I don't get nosebleeds," Yang said and wiped the back of her finger against her nose with it coming back bloody. "What?"

"Are you sure you're ok?" Ruby asked. Yang looked at her again and only got a quick glimpse her and that cute little jacket before she sneezed again and looked to see more blood in her palms.

"…What?"

"Wow, I didn't think that was a real thing," Taiyang said with a baffled look that was returned by Ruby and Yang. "You know, that stupid thing in anime where people get nosebleeds when they… well, think something perverted."

"…No, it's not a real thing," Yang replied only for a crash to sound next to her, which she turned to find it to be because Ruby dropped her tray and started looking at her hands in horror. "Ruby?"

"I should have known…" She whispered and clasped her hands into fists, "the looks, the reactions I never got before, and…" Ruby quickly glanced at Yang before hugging herself tightly and started muttering to herself much more loudly. "It's these clothes! These clothes are making me too powerful! I GOTTA CHANGE BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!" Ruby then took off in a sprint away from the group and knocked an approaching Jaune to the floor with a shout of, "Out of my way stupid!"

"My salad!" Jaune's cries were ignored as were his frantically trying to gather up his food since most everyone who had seen the event were busy watching Ruby run out of the dining hall as fast as she could.

"Well… that was strange," Ren said once Ruby was out of the hall and went back to his tea.

"…So why is your nose bleeding?" Taiyang asked Yang as she started cleaning up the blood with some napkins, "Isn't Ruby your sister?"

"I DON'T KNOW!"

I give you my favorite bit of fan content regarding Ruby. I cannot explain why though.
