I do not own Kuroinu ~Kedakaki Seijo wa Hakudaku ni Somaru~ nor do I own Dragon Age. All rights respectively go to Liquid, the studio who created Kuroinu, and Bioware, the gaming company who made Dragon Age.

Serenus, Eostia. For many people outside of Thedas, it is a country of unknown origin to them lying in the northeast, beyond the Amaranthine Ocean. But to those who knew of it, it was home. All five races dwelled in such a nation, the most dominant being human while the rest were elves, dwarves, beast-kin, and demon. These demons however were not like the spirits of the Fade but rather malevolent ones who have taken shape and form to match a more humanoid appearance. A Rage Demon for example can inhabit an orc and take possession, or even a Pride Demon for that matter. So long as there is the Fade where all mortals dream, then all demons come from there.

Eostia was once owned by the elves outside of Thedas. But like those from Elvhenan, the original civilization of the elves, they did come from there but migrated further away from the Tevinter Imperium when they heard their kind were being enslaved. Soon the land was granted to humanity's greatest family for its leadership in times of war, the Arcturus Family.

The country had known peace for a time, only for it to be replaced by conflict. Not in terms of a Blight but rather of the demon races that love causing mayhem and destruction. Orcs, imps, goblins, and many other minions took the pleasure in pillaging and raping, especially the latter provided that they were possessed by Desire Demons of the Fade. Men and children were either killed or enslaved while the women were used for breeding purposes. It gets to the point where they desire their tormentors to rape them more, where their minds are finally broken.

One day the conflict reached to its height when a huge fortress sprouted up in the north over a single night. Dubbed the Black Fort by the Eostians, it destroyed the very landscape it was surrounded by. The earth became barren and black, the water poisoned and turned into a murky swamp, and even the air was so toxic as the skies turned cloudy and red, impossible to discern day and night. To those who would know what it was, it was blood magic, meant to give the demons strength but also to keep them under control. The Black Fort was ruled by Olga Discordia, Queen of the Dark Elves and the last of her pure lineage. Some say that she created the Black Fort itself with such powerful magic not seen in the time of the Evanuris, while others claim there was some other powerful force at hand, one as ancient as the Maker itself.

For many centuries, Eostia has been in a constant war. Olga, the Dark Queen, has used her army of demons to attack the human lands. Opposing her was her counterpart, Celestine Lucross, who was believed to be a reincarnated elven goddess. It was she who led the humans and other races against Olga and the demons, a war that had continued for centuries. It was said that this war began around the time of the Second Blight.

In time, Celestine constructed seven city fortresses to defend against the north and recruited six individuals to help her defend these last lines of defense. There was Claudia Levantine, Celestine's right hand and leader of the Eostian Knights; Luu-Luu, leader of the dwarves from Kal'Arok, a thaig not known to neither Orzammar nor Kal-Sharok; Kaguya the Shrine Maiden; Maia, Queen of the Mercenaries; and the Princess Knights Alicia Arcturus and Prim Fiorire. With these leaders for each City Fortress, Celestine included, they would be known as the Princess Knights of the Seven Shield Alliance.

While each Princess Knight was formidable and battled against the Dark Queen, mercenary groups emerged to bolster the army's numbers. Soon it became a commonplace for mercenaries to fight alongside soldiers and knights. One group in particular, called the Kuroinu, rose up to fame for their insurmountable impact. Led by the mighty Vult, the Kuroinu had manage to push the demons so far back that it left them the opportunity to attack the Black Fortress. After so many years of war, the conflict seemed to have come to an end thanks to the Kuroinu. One more push, one last fight, and the war finally ends.

But where one war ends, another begins. Not in terms of the demons but of a rather darker more sinister force at hand. One buried beneath the surface of the world constantly digging to find the calling of the Old Gods who slumber beneath the surface of the world. One whose presence is all too familiar to the Grey Wardens.

Unknown to everyone in Eostia, even the Kuroinu, even Olga herself, darkspawn have been sighted in large raiding parties, pillaging and killing everyone in the vicinity. While it was not certain as to whether this is another potential Blight, it stands to reason that compared to Olga and the demons, the darkspawn are a much greater threat.

And yet no one seem to take the darkspawn seriously for they only appear at random and the attacks occur in remote locations. One moment they appear, and the next they are gone.

To that end, the Grey Wardens have decided to send one of their own to investigate and establish a Grey Warden presence in Eostia, to look for potential recruits and inform the rest of the order if another Blight is on hand. But they would not just send in any recruit or veteran, but rather of one whose firsthand experience with the previous Blight made him a hero of legend.

A ship soon pulled over to the docks and dropped off its supplies. But among those supplies was its passenger, a man in black dragon-like armor with a red glow on his chest to showcase the dragon and his helmet which had a red eye up front and center. He carried with him his sword, Vigilance, and a kite shield made from heartwood and embedded with a symbol of two branches whose stems cross over one another while forming a shape akin to a heart. But he also carried his blue travel bag with him, embedded with the symbol of two griffons facing outwards while standing on a rose on top of a two-headed flower.

This man in black armor was not alone for he brought his loyal canine companion with him. A mabari warhound whom he has had since childhood. The two of them soon step off the ship and onto the docks, looking out to the nearby port town before them and beyond that, the land itself.

"Well, Fenris," The man said. "Looks like we're not in Ferelden anymore."

*BARK*

The two of them quickly made their way onto shore and left the docks. Having heard of the war that has been going on, and of the Kuroinu's reputation, this man in black armor figured that the best way to learn more about the darkspawn was to "join" this mercenary group. He didn't trust them at all, let alone any mercenary group, yet he knew they were his only choice.

So for now, he'll play along.

So I wanted to do this ideal for a while, having accepted the Wimblegurk Brigade challenge (I know I am a latecomer to it) and having played the fanmade game Kuroinu Rebellion by LionheartXIII, whose final product is still in development. In this story, everything that happened from Dragon Age all the way to Witch hunt, including Awakening, is canon. Dragon Age II and Dragon Age Inquisition, I will not include because I didn't like those games and the stories. I am sorry to those who say otherwise.

As for how our main character arrived in Eostia, the Dragon Age map only shows the continent of Thedas but not the rest of the world. So I figured what if he set sail beyond the maps of Thedas? Say south to Eostia, a hidden country no one in Thedas knows of or have had little contact with.

EDIT ON THAT NOTE: Thanks to a reviewer, he suggested to make Eostia northeast of Thedas, beyond the Amaranthine Ocean. Thank you to Cyberpunk1-009 for clarification.

I know that this story is not labeled as a crossover but until I have captured a substantial audience with this story, I will wait. Unless reviewers and messengers say that this story should be labeled as a crossover.

I know this is a short first chapter but it is more of a prologue if anything. The rest of the chapters will be much longer and more detailed. And yes, there will be lemons. This is a hentai story after all and Dragon Age does have its sex scenes in the game.
