After having a quick make out session and cuddling in the shower me and Cedric quickly dried ourselves, got ready and changed into new robes. My robes were a deep crimson, where Cedric's were a dark chocolate colour. Thankfully, I was able to use magic to quickly dry my hair before I tied it into a loose ponytail.

When we were both ready and everything in our robes that we may need for the evening, we then interlocked the fingers of both of our hands together as we smiled at each other. We both then apparated out of our bedroom together, with both of us looking very forward to seeing our families so we could let them know about mine and Cedric's engagement.

We landed outside of Cedric's parent's home with a slight thud; and when I turned my head to the left in the warm night air I smiled when I took in the side of the house. The lights in the dining room, living room and kitchen were already lit which told me that our families were waiting impatiently for us, so with this thought in hand I dropped Cedric's right hand. I then let him lead me down the garden path and towards the brown front door; I then watched as he opened the door so we could start our family night.

"We are here!" he called for the both of us, as I closed the door behind us.

"Hello!" I heard Cedric's father called. "We are in the dining room!" he advised, and I let Cedric lead into the large dining room, and I smiled at the scene that I was greeted with. Sat waiting for us were of course Cedric's parents, my parents, Harry sitting in a highchair, Harry, Ginny, Ron, and Fay Dunbar. In all honesty I kind of expected Fay to come with Ron this evening but I didn't want to just assume. I was so happy that Ron had found Fay, yes, I did share a dorm with Fay in Hogwarts, but Ron and Fay didn't cross paths until they both met in the Auror's office around six months ago. I always did get on with Fay; and she seemed the right fit for Ron, and I just wanted them to have everything that me and Cedric have.

"Hello everyone!" me and Cedric chorused as we stepped up to the two closed chairs nearest to the door, with Cedric on my right-hand side.

"Hello!" Everyone called back as we pulled out of chairs and we dropped into them, making our hands drop from each other's.

"How was your trip to Hogwarts?" Cedric's father asked; and I noticed that there was a playful glint in his eyes which told me that he was trying to gage my answer to Cedric's proposal.

"It went very well" Cedric smiled.

"I'm glad" Mr Diggory replied happily as the three of us all smiled at each other. I then cast a glance around everyone that was here this evening, yes family night was special anyway, but unbeknownst to them tonight was even more special. They were going to share in mine and Cedric's enjoyment over our engagement; something of which I couldn't wait for the whole world to know.

I thoroughly enjoyed the meal that we shared together, Mr and Mrs Diggory really did push the boat out this evening. For starter we all indulged in prawn cocktail, for our main we had a chicken roast dinner with all the trimmings. And finally for our desert we had hot fudge chocolate cake with custard, which I felt was the most perfect way to finish our meal.

"Mione?" I heard Cedric mutter after we had just finished our deserts.

"Aha?" I replied as I looked up at him.

"Are you ready?" he questioned cautiously.

"Yeah" I smiled warmly, and I watched as a large and eager grin spread across his face.

"If I could have everyone's attention- "Cedric began as he slowly stood up, and I watched as everyone looked over to him with confused looks on their faces. "I know a few of you already knew about this" he added. "But we wanted to tell you all tonight- "he advised, and I watched as the confusion showed more on Harry's, Ron's, Ginny's, and Fay's faces. "As you know we all went for a meeting at Hogwarts yesterday, however- "he continued. "There was an ulterior motive" he explained.

"Like what" Ron asked slowly for the four of them.

"It is my absolute pleasure to announce- "he grinned as he nodded up to himself and I smiled as I slowly stood up. Cedric then wrapped his arm around my shoulders as he quickly looked down at me, before looking over to our families. "That Hermione has consented to marry me!" he declared eagerly and on cue I then slid my left hand onto his chest, so my engagement ring was now on show.

"What?" Harry, Ron, Ginn and Fay all exclaimed as our parents all grinned at this. "Congratulations!" they called with our parents. They then all stood up and ran towards me and Cedric to pass on their congratulations, all of which were very greatly received. It meant a great deal that they all accepted our engagement wholeheartedly; yes, it probably was before it's time. But me and Cedric knew that there was not going to be anyone else for either of us; and I knew that this was never ever going to change. In this moment I was so ensued with enjoying this moment with our families; I knew that after tonight things were going to start to get busy for everyone involved. But I couldn't wait to marry Cedric; he was everything to me. He was my fiancé, best friend, soul mate, true love, and my dashing white knight. I couldn't wait to marry him so we can begin the next chapter in our lives – as husband and wife.
