Kuoh Academy
Few weeks have past since the training with Riser Phenex while Kuroka and Virgil were about to become parents for their child, Virgil have told Serah, Snow, Lightning, Gabriel, his friends, and his biological parents that Kuroka is pregnant and soon, he'll become the father. It got them surprised at first, but happy to hear that which Serah would love to see the child and spoil the child rotten. Apparently, Kuroka has been in labor for months and there was a bulge in her stomach which she was going to have the baby soon, well babies.
Few days ago, Virgil have taking Kuroka to the hospital in the Underworld when the doctor have used the baby anatomy ultrasound to scan in her womb. To their surprise, Kuroka is having more than one baby which basically, they'll be having triplets and they were both surprised and happy about it. Virgil have given the news to Koneko that they'll be having triplets. When he told her the news, she was happy about the event, willing to support them for taking care of the babies since she's going to be an aunt soon while Cornelius, Griselda, and Lightning will soon to be grandparents.
Now, Kuroka was on temporary leave due to pregnancy while Rossweisse is taking her place as the new homeroom teacher. However, Issei was able to recover thanks to Koneko using her Senjutsu ability. Also, he heard that the second-year students were going on a school trip to Kyoto today which Virgil was worried that he'll be leaving Kuroka alone, but Koneko will stay and keep an eye on her sister, much to his relief.
But since there was no class today, the female students were busy discussing about the plans of Kyoto which apparently, they would mostly do sight-seeing on the second day. However, the perverted trio would usually discuss something perverted which Issei reminded the two that they'll be sleeping on a separate hotel rooms, but it doesn't stop them when Motohama was showing the porn website that was on a tablet. Kiryuu interrupted them, telling them that they need their opinions which neither of the two wanted their opinions since they'd rather talk about porno, much to her dismay and disgusted.
Virgil would rather not be in the middle since this is gonna take a while as he then stepped out of the classroom, until a certain Fallen Angel Azazel approached him along with Koneko and the two Fallen Angels.
"Hey there, Virgil." Azazel greets. "Got a few minutes you can spare for me?"
"Depends on what this is about." Virgil replied neutrally. "Is it something important?"
"Kind of, but nothing serious though." Azazel assured him. "It's actually something to do with the school. Care to discuss it over lunch?"
"Alright, let's head up to the roof." Virgil nods with an acceptance.
Few minutes later, Virgil and Koneko have meet up on the roof with Azazel, Kalawarner, and Mittelt when they were sat down eating lunch. Having finished most of their meals, Azazel set his box down and cleared his throat as he spoke.
"Right, let's get down to business." Azazel remarked. "I'm sure you all know about the trip to Kyoto for the second years, right?"
They nodded in confirmation as the white-haired l'Cie spoke.
"What's that have anything to do with it? I've got triplets on the way soon." Virgil told him.
"That I can understand that, but you've got a lot of helping hands since I told them that you're having kids soon and they'll be sending you some baby clothes and all that jazz." Azazel clarifies with a smirk, changing the subject. "But we're off the main topic, now the thing is, a personal problem arose for a member of the faculty who was supposed to come along to supervise, so they had to pull out the last minute. None of them were available to fill in for them either. Then someone suggested that we get a certain second-year to cover for them."
"I'm guessing that 'someone' is you, right?" Kalawarner questions with deadpan expression.
"Surprisingly, not this time." Azazel refuted cordially. "Although, I did put forward our favorite Snow White as a candidate."
"Look, I appreciate the gesture, but I'm not too concerned about the school trip." Virgil said with sigh. "If the staff decides to choose someone, let them, there's no sense to push me."
"Ah, that might be too late." Azazel stated in a faux innocent tone.
"You're a dick." Koneko said with deadpan expression.
"What did you do?" Mittelt asks, causing Azazel to grew his smirk, turned into a grin.
"The moment I suggested Virgil, they all jumped on the idea and officially put him down as replacement." Azael explains, leaving Virgil scowling at him with annoyance. "No need to be grumpy about it. You're getting a good time of your life in Kyoto, rejoice! Besides, Kyoto's a pretty interesting place...Well, see you around after school is over. I've got stuff to do and paperwork to deal with."
With that, Azazel, Kalawarner, and Mittlet then gathered their things and left the rooftop. Rias have revealed herself at the rooftop when she pass through the Fallen Angels.
"I notice you were having discussion with Azazel. What were you and Azazel talking about?" Rias questions.
"He's more likely yanking my chain since he selected me to supervise the second-year students." Virgil told her. "The reason is that none of the member of the faculty were available to fill in."
"I'm sorry to hear that." Rias apologize with sincere smile. "I guess Azazel didn't give you any choice since he put you in for supervising."
"That's Azazel for you, always doing whatever he wants." Virgil said with a sigh. "As far as I know, Kuroka isn't going to be happy about it."
"I can understand that since you and Kuroka were having a child on the way soon." Rias said.
"Children." Virgil corrected her, leaving her confused as he then raise his hand, showing three fingers which they'll be having triplets. Then, she was completely stunned when he told her about them having more than one baby.
"Congratulations, Virgil!" Rias said with a smile, earned a nod from him as she then cleared her throat while regain her composure. "I wanted to let you know that my family is having a gathering."
"Did Issei know about it?" Virgil asks.
"He did." Rias nods with confirmation. "We'll be stopping by to say hello. Since you and Issei will be leaving for Kyoto shortly, we'll go before the trip."
"Actually, my family will be stopping by at my house soon." Virgil told her. "I have to go meet them before the trip."
Rias gave her a nod with an understanding as she then left the rooftop while Virgil and Koneko does the same while leaving the school.
Town of Kuoh
When Virgil, Koneko, and Asia have made their way towards the house, they were greeting the white-haired l'Cie's biological family and his adopted family along with Gabriel since they've heard the news about Kuroka's pregnancy. Nevertheless, both he and Kuroka informed them that they'll be having triplets soon, much to their surprise and stunned at first, but they were happy to hear that.
"I can't believe that you and Kuroka were having triplets soon. It happens so quickly." Cornelius stated.
"Yeah and to think that we'll get to see them soon." Serah added with a smile.
"Virgil, are you sure you can handle them?" Gabriel asks her godson with worry. "Taking care of them takes huge responsibility."
"I don't know, I know taking care of those triplets is hard, but we still could use some help." Virgil answered honestly. "And I'm still a student in Kuoh Academy."
"We understand, being a student and a parent is stressful." Lightning nods with confirm. "But I know you needed helping hands."
"Which is why we're going to help taking care of those children." Griselda added with a smile. "Plus, my son is finally going to be the father and Cornelius, Lightning, and I will become grandparents to our grandchildren."
'Are they really that eager to become grandparents?' Virgil mentally questions with a sweat drop, but happy to know that they can help them take care of the triplets.
"Also, I can get to take pictures of you, Kuroka, and those babies." Serah chimed with a smile. "I can't wait to see them."
"A-Aunt Serah!?" Virgil shouts with embarrassment.
"That reminds me, I've remembered when you showed those baby photos of Virgil back in Gran Pulse." Griselda said with a giggle along with Cornelius chuckled, leaving Virgil blushed with embarrassment. "He was just so adorable the last time I saw him."
"MOM!?" Virgil yelled.
"Yes he is, I've grown so fond of him too when he was an infant." Gabriel agrees with a smile. "I even missed his cute baby face, but now, he is grown into a handsome young man."
"GABRIEL!?" Virgil yelled with embarrassment.
That got everyone, except Virgil, burst with laughter which to the white-haired l'Cie, it was embarrassing to him since Lightning and Serah having showed them baby pictures of him in Gran Pulse. For a few minutes, they've settled down as Lightning then cleared her throat as she spoke.
"I don't think that's the only reason why you came home early, is it?" Lightning questions.
"No, I'll be heading on a school trip to Kyoto." Virgil replies, leaving Kuroka upset. "It's only a few days trip, but I'm in for supervising the second-year students."
"Let me guess, Azazel?" Snow questions, raise his eyebrow as Virgil gave him a nod, causing him to sigh. "That guy was always up to his old tricks."
"Yeah, he can be a dick and a pervert." Koneko nods with an agreement, leaving Snow chuckle a bit.
"As far as we know, Azazel certainly does pull out the last minute before the events could happen." Cornelius stated with a sigh, changing the subject. "But you know about Kyoto, it's the main territory for the Yokai Faction."
Virgil was then widened his eyes with shock, didn't know that Kyoto belongs to the Yokai.
"He's right, Kyoto was in fact ruled by Yasaka." Kuroka added with a huff.
"Who's this Yasaka?" Virgil asks with confusion.
"Yasaka is the leader of the Yokai Faction and she happens to be a nine-tailed kitsune." Kuroka explains. "Also, she had a daughter named Kunou who happens to be the princess of the Yokai Faction."
Virgil was now completely stunned that Yasaka was the leader and a mother of her daughter which he doesn't know about it, but what got him realize that there might be a chance to know about the nekoshou taking refuge in Gran Pulse.
"Then, did she know about the incident about the nekoshou's long ago?" Virgil inquired.
"Doubt it, but she might have the right to know about it." Kuroka told him.
"I'll make a call with Hope, he'll be able to help out." Lightning said as she then begin to make a call with Hope.
Until, a magic circle appeared which it happens to be Rias and Issei arrived in his house.
"Rias, what are you doing here? I thought you're in for the gathering." Virgil stated.
"We do, but there's a reason why we're here." Rias told him. "Sirzechs wanted me to get you in the Underworld."
"What for?" Virgil inquired with his raised eyebrow.
"Apparently, Sairaorg wanted to fight you before you leave for Kyoto." Rias explains. "He's waiting for you in the residential suite."
With that, Virgil and the others then gathered towards Rias and Issei which Kuroka will be on a wheelchair so there won't be any unnecessary stress because of pregnancy as she then use the magic circle to teleport them to the Underworld to meet up with Sirzechs and Sairaorg.
Underworld, Gremory Estate
When Rias and the others have teleported in the Gremory Estate in the Underworld, they were making their way towards the residential suite when they saw Sirzechs and Sairaorg was at. Virgil was pushing Kuroka to them.
"Hey Virgil." Sirzechs greeted with a smile. "I've heard that you and Kuroka were having a child soon."
"Children, actually. We're having triplets." Virgil told him, leaving Sirzechs surprised, but smiled.
"Well, congratulations to you both." Sirzechs congratulating them, earned a nod from the two.
"Well, this is quite a surprise, a Warrior of l'Cie became a father. I would also congratulating you as well." Sairaorg congratulating him.
"Thanks, but I was told that you're waiting for me to come by here in the Underworld." Virgil told him. "Didn't forget that you want to fight me."
"Well before we get to that, the reason why he drop by for a visit is because he was kind enough to bring some of that famous fruit from the Bael Domain." Sirzechs clarifies. "Also, we use this opportunity to discuss the details of the Rating Game Rias and Sairaorg will be participating. Outside of the usual field-rule requirements, Sairaorg is also requested to remove any complicated rules of battle within the Rating Game."
Rias and Issei already knew about the explanation, but Virgil and the others didn't which they were surprised about the upcoming Rating Game which they were aware that Rias and Sairaorg are competing against each other, but the requirements and rules, that's news to them.
"So, what you meant to say was that you're going allow all of the powers in combat?" Lightning inquires.
"Yeah, that's exactly what I'm wanting." Sairaorg nods with a smirk. "If I can't take Rias' Peerage out of full strength, then I have no business claiming to be the heir of the Great Devil Family."
Virgil knew that Sairaorg means it when he wanted to fight with all of his strength which he can tell that Sairaorg was no fooling around.
"Also, they don't allow any outsiders to fight which I was pretty upset that I don't get the opportunity to fight against your son at the Rating Game." Sairaorg said.
Even though, he was right about it since last time Virgil fight at the Rating Game, he fought Riser and her Peerage which Rias and her Peerage have won the match with a help of the white-haired l'Cie.
"But we have a solution, Sairaorg." Sirzechs called him, earned his attention. "Weren't you still hoping to fight against Virgil?"
"Yes." Sairaorg nods.
"Perfect, then why don't we setup a quick battle right now?" Sirzechs suggests.
"Like right now, right now!?" Issei exclaims with shock.
"Virgil, what are your thoughts?" Sirzechs questions.
"To be honest, I was thinking the same thing." Virgil answered with a smirk. "If that's what he wants, that's fine by me."
"Virgil!?" Serah shouts with worry, but Snow placed his hand on her shoulder.
"He can take care himself, he'll be fine." Snow reassured his wife. "Besides, he's no stranger for fighting."
"I know, but Virgil is going to be the father soon and I don't want him get killed." Serah told him with worry.
"We understand Serah, but Virgil wants to prove himself that he can fight against Sairaorg." Lightning said seriously. "I'm worried about him too, but we can't go soft on him since he's been into fights countless times."
Serah knew that her sister is right about her adopted nephew, but she couldn't help but worry along with Gabriel, Asia, Koneko, and Kuroka since they know how capable that Sairaorg is and how powerful he is since the previous Rating Game against Zephyrdor.
"You've been a bad influence onto my nephew." Serah scolds, sighed. "But fine, he can fight. And Virgil, please be careful."
"No promises." Virgil shrugs simply, leaving Serah pull his ear as he wince with pain. "OWOWOWOWOWOW! Alright! Alright! I promise!"
Serah then let go of his ear with a satisfied smile as he then rubbed his ear. Asia, Kuroka, and Koneko couldn't help but giggle a bit, seeing Virgil was still on a short leash from his adopted aunt. Apparently, Serah wanted Virgil to have a safest career, not like a dangerous career like Lightning which he knows that she mean well, but it was his decision to make.
"Most excellent, I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of power the l'Cie possesses." Sirzechs said with a chuckle, thinking that it's funny as he then turn to Sairaorg. "Aren't you, Sairaorg?"
Sairaorg then nods with an agreement as they headed towards the arena where the two then face each other. Rias and the others were watching on the sidelines which some of them were watching on the first floor while some were on the second floor of the arena.
"I've been looking forward to this day for a while now." Sairaorg stated as he then pulls out his jacket, revealed his black tight shirt with pink accent which it was revealing his well-toned muscles.
Virgil then use his ability to requip his attire to his white jacket with black shirt underneath, blue jeans, black fingerless gloves, leather belt, and combat boots.
"Now, begin." Sirzechs announces.
With that, Virgil then use his paradigm to activate synergist.
"Vigilance" Virgil enhance his alertness.
"Hastega" Virgil then enhance his speed.
"Protectra" Virgil then increase the physical resistance since Sairaog was well-known for his monstrous strength.
"Bravery" Virgil then enhance his strength as he then use his paradigm to switch synergist to commando.
"You're not fighting me with your gunblade?" Sairaorg questions.
"Well, you fight with your fist so I'm going to use fists." Virgil told him.
"Fair enough." Sairaorg shrugs. "But, this should be interesting."
Virgil then charge after Sairaorg with his blinding speed as he then clench his fist.
"Brutal Bash" Virgil then thrust his fist at Sairaorg while gathered his energy, made an explosive impact.
Virgil then charge after him with his flurry of punches and kicks against Sairaorg, leaving him stumbled. However, those attacks didn't even faze him which Virgil was completely stunned with shock, failed to realize that not only that his strength was like a monster, but his durability was monstrous, like he's made out of steel.
"Not bad, Virgil." Sairaorg praised him with a smirk. "I'll admit, you caught me off-guard with that move you've used. However, that was a little too straightforward."
Virgil knew that he's right about that. Even though, he fought those enemies without any problems only because his opponents have battle-experience and they were a major threat to destroy the world, except Riser since he engaged Rias by force.
"That move might take down a weaker Devil, but I'm..." Sairaorg then charge after Virgil with his own blind speed, leaving the white-haired l'Cie shocked. "Stronger!?"
Sairaorg then thrust his fist at Virgil since he didn't have enough time to use his paradigm, leaving no other options but to use his cross block to block his punch. But with enough force, he was then flying which Virgil was able to land in the nick of time, just barely. Issei was completely shocked of that attack along with Lightning and the others which they've never seen anyone who would go fighting against Virgil.
'What...the hell!? That Sairaorg was a beast!?' Issei mentally shouts with his mouth agape.
"Shit...This guy is different!?" Virgil exclaims with a scowl, looking at his arm which it was hurt pretty bad. "Even with my enhancements, he's still able to punch through."
He then use his paradigm to switch commando to medic.
"Cura" Virgil then began to heal up his arm since he doesn't want to use too much mana within him.
"Ah, you're still standing." Sairaorg said with a smirk. "No matter, I'm just getting warmed up."
'And he calls that a warm-up!? He almost broke my arm!?' Virgil mentally shouts with anger as he then use his paradigm to switch medic to synergist.
"Enfrost" Virgil then began to increase his ice attribute.
"Enfire" Virgil then began to increase his fire attribute as he then use his paradigm to switch medic to ravager.
"Let's go!?" Sairaorg shouts as he then charge after him once more. Virgil then look to his left, seeing Sairaorg was able to get to him with his blind speed.
"Firaga: Caltrop Bomb" Virgil then slam his fist to ground as the fire then erupt towards him, leaving Sairaorg taking a few steps back as Virgil charged at him with retaliation.
"Blizzaga: Icy Charge" Virgil then embedded his arm with ice, delivering him with an iced-shoulder tackle as he then stumble back as he then use his paradigm to switch ravager to commando.
"Soaring Tension" Virgil then begin to charge after him while delivering a flurry of punches and kicks, finishing his combo with his icy uppercut while given him a jumping axe-kick.
"Avenging Fist" Virgil goes for another combo of punches, punching him in a rib and a stomach while finishing him with a hook punch to the face.
Sairaorg was then sent flying, crashing towards the pillar which he has enough time to recover as he then drew out his Hi-Ether potion, drinking it as he then recovers his mana since he used up a bit. However, Sairaorg then stood up, spitting his blood as he then rush after him. Virgil then gasp with shock as Sairaorg then retaliates with an uppercut, sent him flying as he then landed in the nick of time when the ceiling of the arena breaks with a web of crack.
'Dammit! This guy on a whole different level?!' Virgil mentally shout with shock.
'What a beast!? Is this guy really in a same generation as the Prez and Diodora Astaroth?' Issei mentally questions with shock.
[Yes, even I'm surprised. A power type that raised his physical strength to its upmost destructive limit. How interesting. I'll admit, he's peaked my curiosity.]
'He should've inherited the Power of Destruction, but instead, he was born into a Devil Household without it. The only thing he had was his own body. He became so strong on his own, he was chosen as the next heir. This guy doesn't half-assed anything.' Issei mentally thought.
Virgil was thinking the same thing which they both knew that Sairaorg should've been the heir of the Bael Household. However, Sairaorg then charges after him with his blind speed when Virgil then quickly uses the paradigm to switch commando to sentinel as he then thrust his fist at the white-haired l'Cie.
"Vendetta" Virgil then blocks his attack while counter with a roundhouse kick, but Sairaorg blocks while punch him, sent him flying as he was then knocked down to the ground.
"No way! Sairaorg manage to go through his defense!?" Issei exclaims with shock. "How did did he do all this!? Was he in some kind roid-use clense?"
"I don't think Sairaorg was into drugs since he worked his own body." Snow shook his head.
"He's right, I was sensing Youki within him." Kuroka nods with an agreement. "It explains why his strength was enhanced."
Virgil then stood up while recover from that attack, getting into his fighting stance. Sairaorg then smirked as he then charge after while Virgil activates his Mediguard, leaving Sairaorg deliver a punch in the stomach when Virgil prevents him by grabbing hold of the fist. The white-haired l'Cie then cringe from that attack while the Mediguard recovers which his hand was healing.
'I thought as much, the defense from the sentinel role can hold off that attack, but it won't hold for long from his monstrous attack.' Virgil mentally thought with a scowl, cursed himself from failing to realize that Sairaorg has built like a truck and his punch hits like a freight train. He then use his paradigm to switch sentinel to ravager.
"Blizzaga: Icefist Smash" Virgil then retaliates when his fists were embedded with ice as he then punch Sairaorg in the face in retaliation while punched him in the stomach and give him an uppercut, leaving him stumble back a little.
It was enough to give Virgil a little breather since he was able to fend him off.
"You know, I pack quite a bit of energy into those attacks." Sairaorg compliments, wiping the blood off from his mouth. "Your fighting style and your battle tactics are rather impressive."
"Thanks, you're not bad yourself." Virgil praise him. "You gave me a run for the money."
"Hmm...You seemed sounded like it's your first time fighting a strong opponent. Why is that?" Sairaorg questions with confusion.
"The number of enemies I fought weren't even compared to the monsters I fought in Gran Pulse, but some of them were a threat like Kokabiel and Loki." Virgil explains. "But when I'm facing you, this is different and you're able to outmatch me with your own strength."
"I get it now, but you were the opposite of Vali. You don't look in for a fight to challenge anyone who's strong, but you fight for only to those who were a threat between the Underworld, Gran Pulse, and Earth." Sairarog said, realized. "And to be honest, you fought like a warrior who went up against the Old Satan Faction, the Fallen Angel Kokabiel, and the Norse God Loki. All without time, no less."
Virgil then widen his eyes, stunned of what he told the white-haired l'Cie as he then smiled.
"Fighting with you has been a lot fun, and when you fight someone as similar to yourself, that's how you grow as a warrior." Sairaorg advised, pumped his fist. "Now come on, show me what you're really capable of."
"Fine be me." Virgil said with a smirk as they then fist bump each other as he thenuse his paradigm to switch ravager to commando.
With that, both Virgil and Sairaorg then began to trade blows to each other. It took a few minutes when they trade blows against each other which the arena was now a mess, some of the pillars were reduced to rubble and the walls were shattered into pieces when they give the destructive blows. Virgil was completely exhausted when he give everything he's got, but Sairaorg was no better since he too was exhausted and he also give everything he's got.
"What's wrong, Virgil? Is that the best you've got!? Are you really gonna let me defeat you!?" Sairaorg yelled seriously.
"Not a chance!?" Virgil retorts. "Because if I lose, then my adopted mother will kick my ass!?"
That got Lightning narrowed her eyes at his attitude which he does have determination, she'll give him that, but what he's doing was a bit reckless. She then shook her head since she don't need to kick his ass, but decided not to tell him that.
Virgil then charge after Sairaorg, leaving him raise his guard up as they then began to trade blows with flurry of punches and kicks which neither of them would even budge because they keep on parrying and counter each others attacks. Apparently, both Sairaorg and Virgil were seasoned veterans at there own rights because Sairaorg have fought at the Rating Game and won countless times because of his strength, durability, and speed which he is formidable. While Virgil have been in training from Gran Pulse by Lightning, Snow, and Hope since they've taught him to fight in combat, magic, and gunblade, but he's also has battle-awareness and a tactician which he's a force to be reckon with.
However, Sairaorg overblow him as he then thrust his fist at him, sent him flying as he was then knocked out to the ground.
"Don't tell me? Is that your limit?" Sairaorg questions.
Virgil then panted heavily, knew that he was in a serious pinch because he was fighting the heir of the Bael Household who had the strength of a monster. If he ever gave up, then he won't prove Kuroka that he would protect her and he won't prove himself to protect others if doesn't defeat him. So the question is, what can he do in a situation like this? It was then he remembered something from his uncle's words years ago.
Flashback
New Bodhum, Gran Pulse 13 years ago
Virgil and Snow were sitting at the bar on the counter as the young boy was drinking his orange juice while his adopted uncle was drinking beer from the mug, courtesy of Lebreau herself. And after Virgil told him that his adopted mother is going to train him to become strong, leaving him surprised as he spat his drink out and onto the counter and on Lebreau's new shoes which she was pretty pissed as she wipe the stuff off.
"You want Lightning to train you to become strong like her?" Snow asked his nephew, earned a nod from him. "What the hell! Why didn't you ask me! I'm strong too, and you know I wouldn't say 'no' to my Mini-Man!"
"Hey, cut it out Uncle! You're messing up my hair!" Virgil said with laughter, making him stop ruffled his hair which Snow got the idea.
"Then how about this? Whenever Lightning doesn't have time to help you, you can come to me for help, deal?" Snow asks, extends his hand to him.
"Deal." Virgil accepts while taking his hand, shaking it.
"And if you want to be strong like me and your mother, then you gotta have goals like a hero and there are three rules of the 'Hero's Will'." Snow told him.
"'Hero's Will'?" Virgil repeats with confusion.
"Yup, Rule#1: Never give up, even if you're in a pinch you must find a way to overcome your battles." Snow said, making him nod.
"Rule#2: Find those who are worth protecting and protect them however you can." Snow continues, leaving Lebreau smiled in approval to see him giving advice to his nephew like a good father would to his son.
"And Rule#3: Embrace your dreams. If you want to be a hero, you need to have dreams and honor." Snow concluded, leaving Virgil stunned.
"So what do you say Virgil? Can you do it? Can you follow 'Hero's Will'?" Snow asked him with a smile, leaving Virgil nod with confidence. "All right, just don't tell your mother on me, okay?"
Virgil then nodded again and they continue drinking.
Flashback Ended
Virgil's eyes widen at the memory before he smiled, leaving Sairaorg raised his eyebrow in confusion to see him smile suddenly.
"I'm not giving up." Virgil told him, leaving Sairaorg surprised. "Because that's what heroes do and heroes never give up! Even in a pinch like this!"
"That a boy, Virgil!" Snow shouts with a cheer while Issei, Asia, Kuroka, Koneko, Nora, Kiba, and Gasper cheered him for the support. Lightning and Serah figured that Snow taught him about 'Hero's Will' and he never told them about it, but decides to let it slide. Sairaorg then look at the spectators with confusion, notice that they're here to support as he then smirked while looking at Virgil.
"All right then, don't keep me waiting...Mr. Hero." Sairaorg said as he and Virgil then charge at each other when he use his paradigm to switch commando to ravager.
"Blizzaga: Diamond Gazer" Virgil then began to use his flurry of punches and kicks while his hands and feet were embedded on ice while blocking and counter his attacks, leaving Sairaorg grit his teeth in pain as Virgil then finish his combo by slamming his fist down to the ground when the ice erupts on the ground, sent him flying and knocked out.
"I'm not given up just yet, because I have something that you don't." Virgil said as he shifted his right leg away and left crouching, getting ready to charge at Sairaorg once more.
"Oh? And what's that?" Sairaorg asked.
"It's called the 'Hero's Will'." Virgil explained while tightening his fists, ready to fight, uses his paradigm to switch ravager to commando. "And if I want to be a hero, I need to have dreams and honor, so let's settle this once and for all."
Sairaorg was silent for a moment as he stared at the white-haired l'Cie, never in his life has he seen someone fight who was determined to defeat him with honor. Of course, if he would've brought out his gunblade, he would use it as a last resort, but he didn't, he just rather fight with fists and fight with everything he's got. Regardless if he wants to continues, that's fine, but he won't let the white-haired l'Cie win.
"Lets." Sairaorg said simply, taking the same stance he's doing and they both waited for the moment to strike. A couple of seconds later, they both narrowed their eyes to each other until a bead of sweat from the white-haired l'Cie drops down to the ground and they both charged each other.
They both exchanged a couple of punches and kicks to each other and as resulted, they collided whenever they try to hit each other. Virgil then saw an opening when he punched him in the face with his left hook, threw a couple of jabs to his stomach, and a strong uppercut to his face as he stumbled and fell back, making his eyes wide with shock.
'What is this?' Sairaorg mentally questions, wiping the blood off of his mouth while getting up. 'He's getting better all of a sudden. Wait, could it be that 'Hero's Will' only give him a morale boost?'
Sairaorg then narrowed his eyes before a smirk was present as things are about to get more interesting.
Virgil then charge at him again, delivering a reverse roundhouse kick when Sairaorg then block that attack before counter with a punch, but Virgil manage to jump up. Virgil then kicked him in the face before kicking him in the stomach, making him step back and stagger a bit. Sairaorg recovered quickly and then rush after him to deliver a roundhouse kick and Virgil blocked him, leaving him spin his body while deliver a spinning heel kick and the white-haired l'Cie blocked it again, and he finally did a reverse roundhouse kick while Virgil blocks with his right arm.
They stopped for a moment to take a breather while making eye contact with each other.
"It seems that this so-called 'Hero's Will' just give a morale boost." Sairaorg stated. "You should've used it when I had you in a fight."
"It slipped my mind." Virgil argued. "I fight you without using it and now I'm using it."
Sairaorg then threw a couple of punches, but Virgil blocked every single one of them until he counter his attack by punching him in the stomach three times, making his eyes widen and cough up his blood. Virgil then did a quick jab to his face and a sweep kick, forcing him to twist his body while landed on his feet and attempt to use a side kick which he blocked it. Virgil then deliver another punch to his face, making him stagger and held his face in pain. It looks like Sairaorg have met his match as he looked up to see him cross his arms and smile.
"In honor of Snow Villiers, leader of NORA, the heroes always win!" Virgil shouts as he then jumped up real high while balling his right hand into a fist.
"Sovereign Fist" Virgil then came down like a meteor hitting the earth.
Sairaorg widen eyes when he saw that incoming attack before smiling as he positioned his right leg behind him. He then put much power into his fist while swung it upwards towards the fist.
When their powerful attacks collided, everything went silent for a moment before an explosion engulfed the two, sending a shockwave much bigger, leaving Rias, her peerage, Lightning, Snow, Serah, Gabriel, Kuroka, Cornelius, Nora, Sirzechs, Irina, Tosca, and Griselda skidded from the wave while trying to take cover from the shockwave. Ten seconds later, they were looking at the two when they see a crater surrounding them both as they were both standing, sweating, and panting until they both fell into the ground. Virgil winced before he held his right arm and Sairaorg also held his right arm from the damage they both inflicted from their attacks.
Virgil's right arm is in the worst shape of his life after using Sovereign Fist to his attack, his arm felt like it got attacked too many times that he's not even sure if his Cure spell can help it heal. He looked at Sairaorg, aside from Lightning, Snow, Noel, and Hope who can match his l'Cie powers, Sairaorg is one of those who can match against his strength alone, but then again, he's the heir of the Bael Househould which he may not inherited the Power of Destruction, but he was able to rely on strength as his weapon.
And as for Sairaorg, his arm is in no better shape and never in his life has he ever felt pain like this after of their powerful fists collided against each other. He eyed at the white-haired l'Cie for a moment, he wasn't pleased that he didn't use the 'Hero's Will' in the first place, but decided not to hold it against him since which he knows that he was able to fight without using it and he use it since he's in a serious pinch. He gave him the best fight of his lifetime which made him satisfied.
It was then that the both fighters have reached an impasse, both of their bodies were in seriously bad shape, covered in bruises after trading blows to each other many times, their limbs are severely damaged that it would take days to heal, and they're both really exhausted as they are in no condition to continue their fight. So they save themselves the trouble, they both closed their eyes, took a deep breath, and said one thing.
"It's a draw." Both Sairaorg and Virgil said in unison before they open their eyes wide in surprise to hear what they both said at the same time. After a moment of silence, they both smiled and laugh while Rias, her peerage, Irina, and Tosca had confused looks on their faces to see them laugh while Lightning, Kuroka, and Snow shook their heads with a chuckle, Serah, Cornelius, and Griselda sighed, and Gabriel then bawled her eyes despite their injuries after they tried killing each other.
Virgil then stood up and walk towards him, reached out his hand to help him get up and Sairaorg took it as he then stood up.
"I must admit, you are quite the fighter, Virgil, never in my life have I fought such a worthy opponent." Sairaorg compliments, leaving Virgil smile.
"Thanks, you're not bad yourself, I haven't fought someone so strong since I've fight against my enemies and I was stupid for not going all out in the first place." Virgil remark, leaving Sairaorg shook his head.
"No you're not, you were a true warrior and a friend for you've done many things in a selfless act." Sairaorg told him. "And as for me, you didn't even bother drew out your gunblade when you decided to fight me with your fist. You gave your all with all your strength and magic without breaking any rules ever since I see you fight against Riser Phenex in the Rating Game awhile back. You are a fighter who fights with honor and skills and you have been a great hero."
That got Virgil chuckle a bit.
"I'll admit, that fight was intense." Rossweisse said with shock. "Our culture was similar, but never thought that it was this intense."
"I wanted to say thank you for given me the greatest fight in my life that no one else can, and I am proud to call you as my ally and my worthy opponent." Sairarog thanked him with a smile as he then look at Issei. "Issei, I'll wait until the Rating Game when we can fight as our best selves. On that day, grant me a power with the Red Dragon Emperor. Are you okay with putting until the next Rating Game?"
Issei widen his eyes with surprise for a few seconds before smiling.
"Sure." Issei nods.
"There is one more thing before you go." Virgil told him, leaving Sairaorg confused as he then use his paradigm to switch commando to medic.
"Curaga" Virgil then use his healing magic to heal both him and Sairaorg, leaving the injuries all over their bodies are starting to fade as well as the ones on their broken limbs. "Can't have you compete in the Rating Game looking like that."
"You never cease to amaze me." Sairaorg praised him. "I'm glad that we have you as our ally and until you get stronger, we shall fight once more."
Virgil then gave him a nod as Sairaorg then turn his head to his cousin.
"Rias and all those apart of Rias' house!" Sairaorg called them, earned their attention. "The next time we meet, will be on a stage that leads us to our dreams! Come and know that I'll take you down with everything I have! I look forward until the day!"
With that, Sairaorg then left the arena with a satisfied smirk on his face. It took a few minutes to have the arena repaired because it was badly damaged due to the fight between Virgil and Sairaorg.
"Well, what did you think? About fighting Sairaorg?" Sirzechs asks with a smile.
"I'll admit, he's a formidable opponent." Virgil admits. "And yet, his punches were like Issei's for some reason."
"Indeed, they were." Sirzechs agrees. "Sairaorg has trained furtherly to fill the gaps where he was lacking. That is how he became so strong, thus possessing something other Devils do not have."
Virgil then widened his eyes with shock, realize that Sairaorg was like Issei, they both trained while attacking in physically to face other opponents.
"I have to admit though, I was impressed." Sirzechs said, earned his attention. "Usually when people battle him, they give before the bout is anywhere close to over, their demonic power fails and they're overwhelm by his sheer strength and any demon who believes demonic power equal status will lose heart, especially anyone who comes from a High-Ranking family."
"Even though, I only fight to anyone who was a threat to destroy, but seeing that anyone who can match my strength, it looks like I have a rival." Virgil stated with a smile, seeing that he has now both Vali and Sairaorg as rivals.
Town of Kuoh
The next day, after Virgil have finished packing, he was on his way towards the train station along with Nora and Hope. The reason is because Serah asked her nephew to babysit since she wants to go on a trip to Kyoto and Hope wanted to have a discussion with Yasaka about the nekoshous taking refuge in Gran Pulse which the leader of the Yokai Faction has the right to know about the incident. Nevertheless, Kuroka wasn't too happy about seeing him leave which she wanted to come along, but she can't because it could cause some serious stress when it comes to pregnancy. Koneko will be there to keep an eye on her sister along with his biological parents.
When they have made their way towards the train station, he notice that Rias was having some discussions with Issei, Xenovia, Kiba, Asia, and Irina which it might be something important. However, Virgil doesn't want to be in the middle of their conversation as he, Nora, and Hope head inside of the train which both Rossweisse and Azazel invited them to join in the staff carriage for the school trip.
Few minutes, the train have started to leave as the second-year students were on their way towards Kyoto.
