CandyLuv99; I can only say she's afraid but the truth will come out.. eventually.
To the guest that reviewed; I want to clear the way. I am the original Guardiansaint. The reason why I don't used my original account is because I don't remember the information. So I created a new one. As for the description of the story, that will pop up soon. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
Chapter sixty-nine, enjoy!
Prince Zeus doesn't scare easily even though he's three and a half months. But what happened at the gorge almost a month ago, really rattled him. He never been so afraid before or felt guilty like he did.
The death of his cousin still hunts him but he choses to keep it all to himself. Because he doesn't know how to handle it.
It was in the afternoon, he was by the watering hole with his brother and cousins. Along with the other cubs in the pride.
Dimitri had pinned Anastasia after chasing the pale gold cub around. Anastasia was a unique like her mother, Queen Rani. Because of the dark gold stripe down her back.
Dimitri's dark brown eyes wandered before he smiled brightly. "Mommy!"
Zeus followed his brother's gaze and sure enough, there was his mother standing by the grassy path to the watering hole.
"Mommy!" the reddish-brown cub smiled as he ran over to his mother and along with his pale brown brown brother nuzzled her legs.
Sherise smiled down at her sons and lowered her head to nuzzle them. While the fighting the odd feeling she seen this before.
"Boys... come with me. We need to talk."
Zeus and Dimitri shared a confused glance before they followed their mother. Eventually the brothers had followed their mother to the very spot Mufasa took Simba all those years ago.
Sherise sat and sighed before looking down at her sons.
"First I want to say Zeus...I'm very disappointed in you. If things went another way you could have been killed."
Zeus frowned as he looked at the ground under his tan colored paws. "I know...but it wasn't my fault! I had a feeling that something wasn't right and I-"
Sherise's purple eyes went wide as she listened to her son. "Zeus! That doesn't excuse the fact that you could have been killed as well! As a prince you need to know how to take responsibilities for your actions."
Zeus pinned his black rimmed ears and lowered his head. "Sorry mom."
Sherise closed her eyes and sighed. "Do you two want to know why I am speaking with you?"
Both cubs perked their ears a little as he looked up at their mother.
"There's something important I want to tell you..." she bends to get eye level with the prince as she smiles lightly. "And he said you're going to be big brothers in a few months."
Zeus' frown soon turn into smile along with his brother as his ears perked up. "R-r-really?"
Sherise smiled lightly as she nodded. "Boys, I only ask of you both to try to be a better example...for your sibling."
Zeus and Dimitri nodded with broad smiles. "Yes...we will be the best big brothers they could have!"
The dark brown lioness smiled proudly before moving her head to nuzzled her sons. But on the inside she was terrified, Zeus and Dimitri were the first ones she told. "I know you both would." then she looked to the sky and seen how late it was. "Come...let's go home."
Zeus and Dimitri nodded and followed the queen-in-command home.
...
Prince Jesús smiled happily as he watched his family sleep. With a determined look, the reddish-brown lion turned and headed down the stoned slope.
Jesús headed towards the Pridelands eastern border. Towards the no lion land that was in between the Pridelands and one of the new kingdoms they stowed a alliance with.
Out of the darkness, a pair of dark yellow eyes glowed as a growl vibrated into the cool air. "What are you doing here?"
Jesús rolled his dark brown eyes before setting them back on the young adult dull beige, dark brown maned lion. "Because Darius. I need your help."
The dull beige lion looked around before looking back at Jesús with a nasty sneer. "What I want to know, why in the deepest depths of hell, should I help you?"
Jesús looked at the younger lion hard. "Because the Pridelands and Easterns are allies. Also my queen helped you get on the throne." Jesús paused and tapped a paw on his chin that had a bit of black fur around it before continuing. "I did saved your life."
Darius glared hard at the reddish-brown lion. "You saved me? How?"
Jesús took a deep breath. "First off, the Queen and her mate were attacked followed by their cubs' murder."
"What!" Darius roared, his dark yellow eyes wide. "And I bet you let him do it, didn't you!?"
Jesús narrowed his eyes and growled. "Don't assault me, boy!" taking deep breaths he spoke calmly. "I believe my mother and her allies are behind it."
Darius scoffed. "So what? You need my help to protect your psychotic bitch of a mother! Well, you can turn around right now!"
"No!" Jesús yelled before taking deep breaths. "My mother and her allies are too dangerous to be living. I don't want them to be a threat to my cubs or Sherise.. anybody for that matter."
Jesús stopped and sighed as the next part is going to be a very touchy topic for the young Eastern king. "When you were left for dead after my mother's allies attacked your home pride, I was on a royal visit to the neighboring kingdom I found you and brought you to the Pridelands where Sena raised you."
Darius gasped as now he finally have the missing pieces. "Fine. I'll help you. Now what is it you need?"
Jesús closed his eyes and reopened them. "I need assistance in rescuing my daughter."
~PP~
She didn't understand the feelings and the emotions running through her. She was taught to ignore feelings, that tears were weakness.
But she can't help it. She feel nothing but guilt and regret. Of course she never had anything actually to do with the massacre of the Highlands.
It was Keres and his lackie, Draven.
She can't continue to live a life as a helper to murderers. Regardless how little of a part she has.
"Kenna!"
A gold pre-teen jumped before sitting at attention before looking up to lowered her head and pinned her ears at the refound look in the black lion's amber eyes.
"Yes sir,"
Keres sneered. "I'm heading out to get the status from Draven. You're coming with me. Your training is today and you need to be ready when it's time to strike."
Kenna nodded before standing and following Keres out of her cave and into the savannah towards his or his allies' new batch of land which was no more than a half of day travel.
When they got to the base, training was going on. And one of the means of training was sparring and a sparr match was going on. Between a male older than her, Akuma and a young light grey, faded grey maned lion.
While Keres headed off to talk with Draven, Kenna headed over to a spot to watch the sparring in the sandy, rocky ditch.
Kenna sighed softly, her yellow colored paws scuffling softly on the dusty ground as she returned her dark brown eyes back to the training.
Kenna completely hated boredom. It was so...exhausting. It crept slowly through her limbs, making her limp and utterly brain-dead at times. What a bother.
"Hey, Kay'." came a muscular voice that Kenna unfortunately knew all to well.
Kenna groaned before looking up to see a older whitish-beige, black maned lion. Who was currently looking at her with hazel eyes.
Kenna growled before shaking her head. "What do you want, Adonis?"
"Just wanted to know what you are doing tonight."
Kenna raised a confused eye brow. "Why?"
Adonis gulped and was about to answer when a roar from the ditch cause the two to turn their attention towards the ditch, the new opponents were climbing out.
"Kenna! It's your turn!" Valdimir roared calling the gold pre-teen.
Kenna stood up immediately, turning away from Adonis and approaching the edge of the sandy ditch. The young lioness felt Adonis' tail flick her shoulder, and she glanced back just before he trotted away to watch her besides Akuma and and the lion the auburn lion was formerly sparring against.
Kenna slid down the dirt to land in the sand, shaking the grit from her bright pelt.
"I'm ready." Kenna's determined voice was louder than usual as she gazed up at the black lion, feeling the eyes of Adonis and his buddies on her pelt. It gave her a strange tingle, and she straightened.
"I see." Keres replied, the corners of his mouth lifting faintly. "I want you to work with Sheba, as she is only slightly bigger than you." He informed the gold female.
Kenna thought that was an understatement, the reddish pelted teen was a bit more stockier. Still, Kenna turned to face Sheba without a complaint.
Sheba glared with black eyes, a smirk painted across her creamy tan muzzle and her tail twitching eagerly causing Kenna to sigh deeply.
"Alright Kenna, I want you to try and find the best way to knock over Sheba. Do it any way, as long as you succeed. I am just going to study your strengths, we'll work on actual moves later."
Keres directed, stepping back a bit and dipping his head for the two to begin.
Kenna's eyes flicked back to the older reddish female as Sheba stood waiting patiently. Kenna readied herself, making sure her claws were in and keeping her gaze fixed now on the older female.
"Come on, Ke-ke." Sheba muttered mockingly, her black eyes glinting.
Kenna huffed softly, feeling so very small. Sheba could be quite full of herself at times. A loud painful scream left, Kenna's muzzle as she felt a sting on her shoulder.
Kenna quickly looked to see Sheba holding up a paw that was stained with blood.
"Hey! What gives!"
Sheba laughed before crouching down. "Anything to win!"
Kenna glared and with a quick movement, she bolted forwards. Sheba was ready, and dodged even faster. But Kenna expected this, having seen the reddish teen do this many times.
Kenna turned easily and let her paws thump against the bit older female.
Sheba stumbled sideways, looking around at Kenna. She reared up, and before the gold pre-teen could move Kenna felt herself brought down under Sheba's paws.
Kenna struggled away, Sheba didn't have a good grip, and Kenna rolled quickly to her paws before charging back towards the reddish teen.
Kenna grappled with Sheba for a bit, swiping and pawing at her opponent. Sheba retaliated with harder and more effective blows, but they were fewer.
Kenna's slight smallness and agility helped her to wiggle free when trapped. After a few more minutes of combat, Keres stepped forwards.
"That's enough." He told the adolescents as they broke contact and panted up at him.
Kenna let out a long breath and sat down, sides heaving visibly. Sheba did the same, a bit less exhausted, but still looking beat.
Keres smiled proudly at the tired females. "Very good, you two."
Before either Sheba or Kenna could catch their breaths or they could say anything, the black, black mane lion stepped passed the exhusted adolescents and headed up the ditch.
