Hello please remember to like follow and review the story. I don't know how long this chapter is but I know that this story is already longer than I anticipated when I thought of the idea. So strap in and enjoy the long ride to the destruction of the shinobi world. TW depression, suicide, cutting, and cheating.
Chapter 4: Narutos Fall
Naruto had been pacing for hours. He wasn't sure how to react to the news of Hinatas pregnancy. A small part of him was excited that she was pregnant since it could be his but the thought of the child coming out looking like Ay made him want to explode.
When the sun rose a few hours later Naruto hadn't come to a decision about what to do if the child was his. Hinata was right he had always wanted a family. He thought he had one once he gained all of his friends. He had the love of his team seven and his other friends in and out of the leaf but most importantly he had a wife that he loved. He wanted to grow the Uzumaki clan, but he knew even if the child was his there was no way Hinata would actually involve him in its life. Naruto was once again despised by his village he knew the Hyūga clan hated him as he had gotten many threats from them and Hanabi had even attacked him once while he was out walking. There was no way he could be in his child's life even if it was his and he wanted to be. The child was going to grow up hating Naruto if they even come clean and tell the kid who their father is.
Naruto spent a long time inside his little dark apartment barely moving only getting up to eat and drink and go to the bathroom when necessary. He hadn't cut himself for a little bit, but he was extremely malnourished. When he was in the bathroom, he caught a glimpse of himself and he kind of looked like Nagato. He was extremely thin his hair was dull and was starting to grow long after not cutting it for several months.
He had hated himself for a long time as a child he believed the villagers and took their hate and added it to his own. He eventually decided to toughen up and realize it wasn't going to change. He stopped crying and hating himself, but those feelings never truly left. Thankfully with his regrowing hatred Kurama and him were friends and Kurama wouldn't take advantage of Naruto.
After not leaving the house for a month Naruto decided to get out in order to run basic errands. He had also decided to go straight to Kakashi and demand any mission he had. He hoped getting out of the village would allow him to focus for a little while. He couldn't force himself to accept Hinatas pregnancy and refused to open the letter she left. He was still furious over everything he had been numb to everything but after seeing her again she had only agitated his anger and added to the fire by giving him false hope about being able to see his kid if he was his.
As he made his way to the Hokage building he was lost in thoughts, so he had missed all of the glares and taunts made by the villagers. Eventually he had reached the building and he walked inside only for the secretary to try and get rid of him. However, he was persistent he was seeing Kakashi if he had to kill to do it. It didn't come to that as he had marched past the secretary and the Anbu hadn't stepped in yet. When he reached the door, he was stopped by two Anbu outside the door. Naruto wasn't a patient person, but he hadn't acted like himself in months so when they told him to wait outside until the group inside made their way out, he didn't say anything.
Once the door opened a standoff occurred. Neji, Kiba, Sakura and Hinata walked out the door to come face to face with someone that they believed to be Naruto even if it was hard to tell. Kiba was like usual all bark no bite trying to threaten Naruto as if he could do something to him even in Narutos current state. Neji didn't show any emotion, but Naruto could feel the distrust Neji had for him. Sakura however was just as scary as ever he could feel her hatred and he almost reacted to it but knew it was better to show no emotion towards anyone at the moment. Hinata refused to look at him and pretended to cower behind the rest.
"What are you doing here wifebeater. Get near Hinata and we'll kill you," Kiba barked at him.
"I'm not a wifebeater mutt but keep acting like that and maybe Hinata will let you have her next and if you must know I'm trying to get a mission from Kakashi," Naruto said cold as ice.
He preferred not to stoop to their levels, but he wasn't in a good mood especially as he felt their hate towards him and watching Hinata pretend like that made him want to rip Kiba limb from limb just to let off some steam.
"Hinata didn't cheat on you so stop trying to play the victim. You hurt her she would never cheat on someone especially not you. She loved you if you already forgot. She took your beatings and still loved you. You're nothing but a lousy piece of shit and if Kakashi does give you a mission I hope it kills you for what you did," Kiba screamed at Naruto before charging him.
Anbu stepped in between them before Kiba could attack Naruto. They couldn't let a fight break out right outside the Hokages office. Kiba was glaring at Naruto like everyone else. Naruto didn't react he lacked any emotion on his hollow face his eyes told no tale. If Naruto didn't face the same type of hate as a child, he probably wouldn't be able to hide his pain or anger or sadness the way he does by simply looking numb. That or faking it with a smile but eyes are harder to fake emotion through. He had mastered it over the years, and he could look as warm as the sun or as cold as the moon or as neutral as the color grey.
"Maybe you'll get your wish Kiba. I plan to ask Kakashi for another suicide mission if he has one. However, considering the last one he sent me on I came back from alive I think you should wait to celebrate until they confirm I'm dead," he said as he turned to the door and walked in.
He heard Hinata weep and if he had turned, he would have seen Neji and Sakura holding her to try and comfort her. They thought that she was upset over seeing Naruto, but she had started to cry because he wanted another suicide mission. She knew he was angry and depressed he deserved to be after what she did, but she had thought that the news of her pregnancy and her letter would have made him want to be there for the kid if it happened to be his. She tried to somber up so they could leave but it took a minute for her to get herself composed. They had been making their way outside as Naruto came behind them walking a bit quickly. He had a scroll in his hand so he must have gotten his wish of a suicide mission. Her heart wept as she blamed herself for his behavior.
Naruto sped up hoping to get back as soon as possible so he didn't run into any of them again disappointingly they had just made their way outside as he was getting downstairs. He decided if he just moved by quickly, he wouldn't need to worry about anyone and wouldn't need to see her again. Luckily even in his disheveled state he was able to move by quickly enough that they either didn't notice or decided to not interact with him. Either way was fine with him.
He quickly packed and left the village his mission would sound hard, but he had time to travel and regain some strength. He was going to be a distraction for some of Sunas forces. They had been requested along with the other five great nations to help with the skirmishes that had been happening around some of the small nations since the war ended. Naruto simply had to face the enemy head on as Suna had their ninja wrap around to attack from behind. This would be easy for any small army to do since Suna had to take the long route to get behind the enemy forces so they would take at least two days if they don't get held up and that would take minimal effort for a small strong force to handle. They decided to send Naruto own his own however hoping to either kill him of exhaustion or have someone strike him down after a days' worth of fighting. Kakashi new they had to keep relations with the other Nations good so without telling Naruto he sent a backup unit of Anbu just in case he did die fighting. That way they can continue the fighting and destroy Narutos body.
The mission would be hard even for Naruto, but he was glad that he could go all out and let off some pent-up rage on someone other than himself. He knew the mission was supposed to be a small army, but he insisted on going alone and Kakashi agreed. He had three days to get there as the fighting had come to a stalemate. He was surprised that ninja from Suna were getting pushed to a stalemate against some random ninja from a small nation. He wasn't told anything about the size of the enemy force or what type of abilities the big hitters had. So, when he got there, he had realized why the battle had even been brought to a stalemate.
From the cliff about two kilometers from the battleground he saw the enemy force had to be around twenty thousand while Suna looked to only have five hundred ninjas left. He wasn't at the beginning of the battle, but it looked like a good amount of the enemy force must have been killed but he also so a fair amount of Suna ninja in the midst of dead and injured bodies. He decided to meet up with Temari. If she knew of what happened with him and Hinata this would not a be a pleasant meeting.
"Temari! Temari! Narutos here," a girl he didn't know the name of yelled.
Neither Temari nor the girl seemed so happy with him, so he guessed she knew.
Temari was very blunt, "Naruto were taking the pass up and around a cliff that is roughly a day's journey from here. We will clear the troops from behind as you distract them here and we'll meet in the middle."
With that she glared at him called her troops and they left. He was glad she acted so professionally or this mission may have become even more dangerous. If Temari was glaring daggers at him he could guess he was no longer like in Suna which meant Gaara might even dislike him now. He realized that if news of his situation made it to Suna there's a good chance it reached other villages as well.
The enemy forces noticed there departure and started attacking but Naruto immediately began to counter them. He went through the enemies' forces like a monster. He acted like he had no soul and slaughtered enemy after enemy without even using a jutsu. No one piqued his interest and he had clearly scared many of his opponents as they watched their comrades get cut to pieces by a war hero of legend. They knew as well as anyone else how strong he was, and they also knew what had happened between him and his wife at least they had heard rumors.
Naruto fought harder and harder. Having no real goal, he just slaughtered anyone he came across. Two days into the fighting he realized that Temari's group must have gotten held up. He had made a major dent in the enemies' forces by himself and had forced them to retreat and regroup twice already. He didn't let them get far simply using an hour of rest as they retreated before catching up like he spent the whole time chasing them. At this point he decided he would need to speed this up he wasn't super tired, but he knew Temari should be there already.
Splitting into twenty shadow clones they split off and began to slaughter more and more ninja. He had been amazed such a small nation had twenty thousand ninja to fight but he had also suspected taht other small nations must have offered their ninja as well or these ninjas had chosen to come here to fight. Either way he knew they would all die by the time the battle was done. His clones had been throwing rasengans and rasenshurikens and he could see the destruction they were leaving. He was growing bored after two days of fighting and decided to experiment with some new jutsu he had started to learn before the incident.
"Lightning Style: Piercing Arrows," Naruto yelled.
Many arrows of lighting formed around Narutos body as he signaled different groups of them towards different opponents, he mostly hit his mark as he saw arrow holes in many Shinobi. He had surprised himself as he hadn't practiced any ninjutsu since his last mission and even then, he didn't use much other than the rasengan. He decided this move was effective and that he would try again until he didn't miss any of his targets.
After two more tries he was able to pierce not only one body but two if he focused and was able to hit all of his targets. He had become bored and wanted to try more of the jutsu he had learned and the one he was working on creating a few months back.
"Earth Style: Bullet Wall," Naruto yelled.
He slammed his hands to the ground and a giant wall of earth came up. As he hit the wall small sharp rocks sped out of the wall. The faster he did this the more bullets he was producing and slowly the giant wall was down to his feet. With more dead shinobi in front of him he decided to try and finish the battle with his new jutsu he had been developing. During his training to become Hokage he had learned to use the other chakra natures. Using his new skills, he decided to experiment with a new jutsu that he wanted as a deterrent against future wars. Naruto created four shadow clones before completing fifty hand signs and raising his hands towards the sky.
"Five Chakra Style: Storm of Chakra," Naruto yelled.
Naruto and his clones each produced a different chakra nature that combined to create a giant storm. The sky turned black as fire was rushed towards the sky above. Rain was pouring down and wind was whipping through the battlefield as the ground shook like an earthquake. Naruto watched as the storm created lightning and rose his hand towards the sky, he attempted summoning the lighting to try and tame it, but it backfired. He was sent flying into the air as super powered lightning hit the ground. The storm dissipated and Naruto realized the jutsu failed. The goal is to create a storm of chakra natures. Disrupting the ground beneath creates the enemy to fall off balance as super-heated rain poured onto the battlefield. Wind chakra whips across the battlefield throwing enemies around and slicing them into oblivion while Naruto finishes the jutsu with the taming of lightning. He decided without Sasuke or a sharingan he couldn't perform the jutsu properly.
Getting up he prepared to finish whoever withstood the storm. It may not be a perfect jutsu but he knew he was able to get results using just four chakra natures in the storm. Taming the lightning just allowed him to direct lightning through the battlefield to eliminate the enemy as the rest of the storm burns, cuts, and disorients them.
Once again running through the enemy like butter he was growing more tired and tired he decided if he died during this battle, he would win first. He didn't know how long it took or why Temari and her group hadn't made their way to the middle where they were supposed to meet but he did know he was covered in blood head to toe. When Naruto sliced through the last enemy ninja, he had saw Temari's group walking towards him. Slowly Naruto collapsed after fighting for four days straight he was exhausted.
When he woke up it was raining. His body was sore, and he was as stiff as a board, but he was alive shockingly. As he got up out of the mud, he looked around the tarnished battlefield and looked at his handiwork. If he hadn't been so angry, he would never been so brutal but the current circumstances he felt the need to just dismantle people like a bloodthirsty demon. Slowly he made his way back to report his missions success he wasn't sure how long he slept but most of his injuries felt healed.
Two days later Naruto trudged through the front gate looking half dead. The rain only rinsed some of the blood off of him so it would be his second time coming back from what should've been a suicide mission covered in blood from multiple sources.
He made it to the Hokage building and slowly walked into the office that Kakashi sat in.
"Well congratulations Naruto. You survived to fight again another day. I heard the mission went well even though you had passed out for a week once the battle was over. I had Anbu watching in case anything happened. Twenty thousand ninja dead by your hand that's shocking even to me. Some of Sunas ninja sent me a letter and they had called you "The Blood Storm Ninja of the Leaf" it's better suited for you than "Hero of the Leaf" nowadays. Anyway, I expect a full report by the end of the week," Kakashi calmly stated before dismissing Naruto.
As Naruto turned to leave Kakashi spoke up, "I think I'll be sending you on more missions like these if you're up to it."
Naruto didn't speak only nodded and left. He trudged home and hopped into a hot bath. He didn't like the nickname, but it was better than "wifebeater" or "demon brat" as he cleaned himself off, he found himself excited for the next mission. These types of missions even if they were easy for him, they kept his mind off Hinata and everyone that hates him.
Leaving his bathroom, he saw the letter he had never opened from Hinata. He was scared to see what she said. He was still extremely angry that she would come to him and tell him she pregnant. She knew even if she said she would try to involve him in its life that there's no way for that to happen. She knew that her actions were the straw to break the camel's back, but she still had the nerve to come to his house after he was forced to move from his home and lose everything, he held dear including her because she couldn't just speak up and let Naruto how she felt. She never said she was lonely when he went on missions or that she was still in so much pain due to the miscarriage he had thought she was doing better but she had just been hiding an old man from him so she could get fucked.
He continued to ignore the letter. Another month went by, and he had gone on three more missions all which the village had hoped he didn't come back from but if he could win a war, he could handle small problems like the missions he had been sent on. Eventually the missions weren't having the same effect that they did at first. They got boring enough that he was able to think during them and they no longer distracted him.
He kept looking at the letter Hinata sent and the few times he was out between missions, and he saw her he noticed she began showing she had to be about five or six months pregnant. It didn't help that he hoped it was Ays just so she had to come clean and tell everyone that she had been cheating on him. He thought that but knowing her she would probably lie and say she only started to cheat because of the abuse, there was no way he was redeemed.
He forgot how few ninjas were powerful enough to even touch him. He honestly thought he became too strong. He wasn't fighting Sasuke so there was no way he had a real possibility of dying unless he overexerts himself. He had gone back to hurting himself since no fight ever ended with him getting hurt enough for him to enjoy the pain. He knew how he felt in heart and mind, but he needed the physical pain to accompany the demons inside. After another month of coming back from suicide mission after suicide mission he sat at his table and looked at the letter in front of him. In one motion he ripped it open and pulled it out.
As he read it, he began to cry then he started to scream like someone had stabbed him through the heart. He sat on his floor as he had a panic attack. He woke up several hours later not realizing he had passed out. He pulled himself up and reread the letter on the table. He couldn't believe any of it he just knew he had to escape.
He quickly left his apartment he couldn't stay in this cursed village anymore. He couldn't see her again he couldn't see any of his friends he just wanted all the pain to end. He ran into a store and grabbed what he needed. He hadn't realized who he had bumped into as he left but if he did, he may have blew up the entire village just for the fun of it. He made it back to his apartment and quickly prepared everything.
Narutos heart was racing. He was tired of living he wanted out he had no meaning in life other than a weapon. He had no one that cared about him anymore everyone hated him from his village to the Hidden Cloud. He no longer had the support he once had that kept him together after all the years of hardship and pain.
He stepped up onto a chair. Fastened the rope and as the letter raced into his mind he stepped off.
Naruto Uzumaki was no more.

I wrote and rewrote this chapter so many times. Im not sure if i like the way the chapter went but i think this chapter needs to happen in order to create the rest of the story properly.
I feel like a lot happened. A direct confrontation with Hinata and some of his old friends. Kakashi speaks to him. Temari isn't very welcoming or friendly in anyway which raises the question of how other nations are going to treat him and how his friends like Gaara will treat him in the future. The first fight scene i did say i was going to mess around and create new jutsus and kind of mess around to make Naruto a bit OP. Twenty thousand troops may have been overkill but its Naruto and if anyone could go around killing thousands of mediocre ninja it would be a Post-war anger fueled Naruto. The fight scene took way to long to write as i wasnt sure how i wanted it to go. I kinda skipped his first mission but i felt like this one was a good showcase of just how powerful Naruto is. The chapter of course ended with the reading of Hinatas letter which drove Naruto to commit suicide. Obviously a lot happened this chapter and im sure theres plenty of questions which you can feel free to ask with a review or just pm me and ill respond.
Clearly Naruto doesnt die since this is the story of his fall and the eventual destruction of the shinobi world. He was pushed so far he broke and chose death. Naruto Uzumaki gave up. Depression is awful in any sense but Naruto isnt only depressed hes been destroyed as everything he loved was taken from him and the letter from Hinata was the final straw. After this there will be a bit more till he decides to leave the village. Hinata and him will fight once again. She will start to be fleshed out more and she will realize that she needs to fix the relationship if possible how she does that will be interesting and Naruto falling from depression to snapping to insanity will be a fun journey coming in the next few chapters.
In case anyone was wondering theres going to be either 1 to 3 chapters before Naruto is gone from the village and on the path of destruction. I also decided to post as i feel chapters are complete.
