Chapter 14:
Paul/ Wolf pov
We need to protect her. Wolf growls in my ear as I lick our mark on Bella before heading out the door.
I know. I answer and he hums, painting violent pictures of killing Victoria and then how happy our future will be with our cubs and mate. I strip and phase as soon as I reach the woods.
"Over there, Jake!" Sam yells over the pack bond and through his eyes I see the redheaded leech throw herself after Jacob.
"Turn around!" I command. Jacob quickly changes his direction and evide the leech. "What is going on?" I demand as I let out a howl for the others to change.
We can not leave our mate. Wolf reminds me and I growl at him.
I know that but we can't let our pack mate be killed either. I remind him and he sighs but agrees silently.
"We found the bloodsuckers, there are twenty of them and they are stronger than normal. One of them saw us before we could head back to plan." Sam explains in a hurry while showing me exactly what happened.
"What is going on?" Seth suddenly joins our conversation when he phases.
"Head to Sam and Jacob." I command and he instantly starts running while we explain what has happened. Everyone except for Jared and Leah runs to their rescue since they are ordered to stay by my mate. I stay close to our house, pacing helplessly as I watch Jakob get injured.
Our pack! Wolf growls and I growl as well.
I know! But who do you want to protect our pack or our mate and cubs? I snap and he paces in my head.
Mate, cubs. He decides then he sighs deeply. Give Samuel the command for now. Go in to our mate and cubs and let Leah and Jared help the others. We are strong enough to protect our mate alone, the others need help.
"I will phase and protect my mate and our cubs. Sam, take command. I will send Jared and Leah to help you." I order and phase, running into the house and pulling my very confused and stressed mate into my arms while ordering the others to help Sam. Jared and Leah leap out the door and phase instantly. Wolf starts purring for our mate as I speak soothingly to her.
Claim her. Claim her. Claim her. Wolf chants and I growl at him to quiet.
She does not need sex right now! I refuse and he sighs, pacing back and forth in my head.
"Paul, please, what is going on?" Bella asks worriedly and I caress her cheek softly.
"Sam and Jakob have found the redhead and some other vampires helping her. They are fighting against them. I sent the others to help while I keep you safe." I explain and she sobs worriedly into my chest as I coe softly for her. "It will be okay, my princess." I whisper, rocking us both as I cover as much as possible of her body with mine. It is one of the instincts I get from my wolf, if I cover her no one else can get to her.
