Rosalie made her way home slowly trying to figure out a plan. She didn't know how long it would take Isabella to not only get to Denali but to convince Tanya that she was who she said she was and that she knew who her mate was. Hopefully the fact that Tanya had waited a thousand years to find a mate would make it easier to believe. Then again she didn't know if Isabella had a way to prove it to her as quickly as she proved it to Rosalie.

So now she had to figure out a way to keep Bella away from Edward or at least keep them from being alone together. Not that she really cared about Tanya beating the shit out of her brother but she didn't think it was fair to Bella to be in a relationship with someone who wasn't her mate. Also the fact that Bella was most likely gay made her wonder if she was even attracted to men. She could be bisexual of course but if she wasn't then Rosalie didn't want the poor girl to force herself to be in a relationship with a man. She wondered if Edward's insistence of the mate bond was the reason they were together.

That was another problem she had to deal with. If there was no mate bond then Edward would know. Being mated herself Rosalie knew there was no way to mistake the feeling. Bella being human would explain her ignorance but there was no excuse for Edward. Feeling her anger boil at the fact that her brother was basically forcing a mate bond Rosalie found herself even more committed to helping Isabella unite Bella with Tanya. Bella may not have been her favorite person but that didn't mean Rosalie wanted her to be in that type of relationship.

"Why did I have a vision of you asking Bella to have a sleepover with us tonight?" Alice asked as Rosalie made her way into the house.

Rosalie flinched realizing that the block Isabella placed didn't stop Alice's gift. She would have to ask about that later. Trying to figure out exactly what she could say that would be believable Rosalie decided to go with a half truth. "I have been unfair to Bella and want to get to know her better. I was hoping she would want to spend some time with me but thought she wouldn't be comfortable without you there."

"So you want to get to know Bella Swan better? The girl who you have hated since she came to this town." Alice was skeptical. Rosalie had never been shy about telling everyone her opinion of the human.

"I don't hate Bella." Rosalie huffed. "I just don't think she should be dating Edward."

"Rosalie they are mates. They are meant to be together." Alice didn't miss the way Rosalie flinched when she said mates, that confusing her even more.

Rosalie walked into the living room kissing Emmett as she took a seat next to him on the couch. "Regardless if they are or not, I think it would be nice to get to know the human."

"Are we talking about Bella?" Emmett asked not looking away from his video game.

"Yes, we are. It seems Rosalie would like to have a sleepover with Bella to get to know her better." Alice told him, still not understanding Rosalie's reason for wanting to hang out with the girl. Something about this whole situation didn't make sense.

"I think that's a great idea." Emmett said. "Bella is our sister, we should all want to get to know her better?"

"That was exactly what I was thinking. Which is why I want to invite Bella over tonight for a sleep over. The guys can go hunting and leave us all alone." Rosalie was hoping Alice wouldn't put up to much more of a fight because she didn't know exactly how to keep Edward and Bella apart if Bella didn't stay the night with them.

Before Alice could reply Edward rushed into the house and stood over Rosalie. His face was furious. "Why can't I read your mind?"

Emmett grabbed Edward and toss him across the room. Luckily no damage was done. "You don't get in my mate's face like that."

Edward jumped up and started advancing on Rosalie again but stopped short when Emmett crouched in front of Rosalie. "I want to know why I can't read her mind."

"I don't care." Emmett growled. "You don't threaten my mate."

Rosalie smirked. It seemed like the block actually did work. Isabella said it would but she had had her doubts. Now that she knew it did for sure she definitely was going to see if Isabella would help Emmett. "I don't know what you're talking about Edward."

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. You are somehow blocking me from hearing your thoughts." Edward was sure Rosalie had done something to block him. There was no other explanation to why he couldn't read her mind.

"How could I in the time it took me to go hunting and come home find a way to block my thoughts from you?" Rosalie was loving this. Not only was she going to ruin Edward's life when Tanya came to Forks but it was going to drive him crazy trying to figure out why his gift wouldn't work. She would have to thank Isabella because it was like Christmas came early.

"I don't know but you did!" Edward exclaimed.

"If she had done something I would have seen it Edward. All she did was go hunting." Alice to was curious of why Edward couldn't read Rosalie's mind but she believed in her own gift. Unlike Edward's it never let her down.

Having heard Alice's thoughts Edward growled. "There is nothing wrong with my gift. Rosalie did something. I don't know what but I'm going to find out."

Emmett stood up from his crouch and sat next to his mate."I don't know but it seems to me that it is your gift that is screwed up because I am pretty sure if Rosalie had a way to block your gift she would have at least shared it with me so that I could do the same thing."

"I would tell him in a heartbeat." Rosalie agreed. It wasn't a lie, as soon as she could she was going to tell Emmett about Isabella. She just couldn't right now or it would give everything away.

"I'm calling a family meeting. We are going to discuss this with everyone. I'm sure Carlisle would like to know exactly what is going on and until then stay away from my mate."Edward glared at Rosalie one last time and walked away.

Being reminded of the false mate claim Rosalie had to hold herself back from attacking Edward herself. She knew her brother was slimy but this was a new low. The fact that he was trying to use that as a way to get her to stay away from the human just pissed her off. "If I want to spend time with Bella I will do so if she allows me to. Even if she was your mate you don't control the girl."

"What do you even if she was?" Edward asked."Of course Bella is my mate and because she is it is my right to keep her from whoever I seem fit."

Alice frowned hearing this. "She is not an object be controlled Edward. If she wants to hang out with Rosalie she can. You don't own her."

" I am the one who says what my mate does or does not do. Not you two."Edward growled.

"What's going on in here?" Esme asked as she walked into the living room.

"They are trying to take my mate away from me." Edward accused.

"Tell the truth Edward. You were telling them they couldn't be around your mate without your permission. Not even if Bella wanted to hang out with them. All that matters to you is your control over the girl." Emmett said.

"Bella is my mate and I don't want Rosalie around her especially since I can't read her or Bella's thoughts." Edward told them.

"So the reason you don't want me hanging out with Bella is because you won't be able to know what we talked about or did. You're such an asshole. It makes me question if you actually are Bella's mate." Rosalie knew she was pushing the limits of telling what she knew but she felt it would be alright to plant the seed of doubt hoping it would help Isabella in the long run.

Edward made a move towards Rosalie, once again being stopped by Emmett's hand around his throat." What did I tell you about touching my mate?"

"Well your mate better keep her mouth shut about mine." Edward tried to get out Emmett's grip but it was use.

"What's the matter Edward? Did I hit a nerve? Does this mean you have been lying and Bella is just your singer not your mate at all? Is that why you don't want to change her because not only will you lose out on her blood but she'll realize the truth as soon as she is a vampire." Rosalie taunted. She smirked at Edward as he began struggling in Emmett's grasp.

"That's not true is it Edward?" Esme asked. She had never said it allowed but seeing Edward and Bella together she had her own doubts about their mate bond. Even though Rosalie was being harsh it seemed like she had the same doubts as Esme.

Edward flinched hearing the thoughts of his mother. He knew he didn't have a mate bond with Bella but that didn't mean he didn't love her. She loved him as well. As long as he didn't drink her blood than everything would work out perfectly and no one would be the wiser. He just had to make the others believe." Of course that's not true. Bella is my world, the instant I locked eyes with her I knew we were mates."

"That's not true. The first time you saw her you wanted to kill her. The urge was so strong you had to go visit our cousins to get control." Rosalie felt the need to push a little more now that it seemed she got the others thinking maybe she was right.

"No, even though her blood is appealing to me I never wanted to kill her. All I've ever done is love Bella and I will not stand here and listen to you claim otherwise." Edward pushed his hands against Emmett grunting when instead of putting him down he threw him on the floor.

As Edward moved to leave the house Rosalie called out after him. "Alice is going to invite Bella over for that sleepover and if she doesn't answer her phone Alice will go in person to get her."

Edward stopped at the door and glared at Rosalie." And I'll make sure to inform Carlisle of your new ability. I'm sure he will be interested in studying it."

Rosalie rolled her eyes at the implied threat. She wasn't scared of her sire. The only loyalty she hat was to her mate so it didn't matter what Carlisle said or tried to do. She wouldn't let him. Hopefully Isabella would be back in time that it could all be explained. Thinking of Isabella, she wondered if she was having better luck than Rosalie.
