Hello readers! Welcome to the first installment of the self-insert fic, RWBY: Remnant's of Another World.

However, this story was inspired by The Quebec's story of the same name. So all of the inspiration and credits goes to him. But to simply put it, this is my version of the story.

Now I do know that most writers tend to write Self-Insertion Fan-fics...mainly turning themselves into some sort of Flawless Edge God with enough power to destroy an entire planet planet. I do not intend to go with this route

In-case you didn't know what the world of RWBY is, here's the crash course of it: It takes place in the world of Remnant where humanity and a race of demi-humans known as the Faunus are being threatened by a race of soulless creatures known as "The Grimm". And protecting this world are elite warriors known as Huntsman and Huntresses...and every single weapon is a gun, hammers, gauntlets, nunchucks, purses...all we're missing is a frying pan

I do also do NOT intend to make the story all about me, teams RWBY, JNPR, and the other major character's will still play their roles in this series that I decided to make.

But the story will change, making is somewhat fresh, while also adding some of my own elements. This also includes a change of the OC of the story, which includes name, appearance, personality, etc. I should also note that I'll be including events from other RWBY media, like the comics, manga and the games

Also, this story will have multiple POVs, so that way that it isn't focused on the main character. These would include (My POV), (3rd Person POV), ( ? POV). (? POV) usually means from another characters standpoint

Not only that there are going to be things called "Action Sentences" These would include some sort of action that a certain character does. Here is an example "(R/N)! Where are you!? You need to-*gasp*". This would include other actions, like dodging attack or performing an attack

Now if you already haven't clicked off of the story already, then you probably just want to read it, well I won't keep you waiting, let's get started!

Disclaimer: I don't own RWBY, all rights to the series go to Rooster Teeth, please support the official release.

(My POV)

Well, we did it, we actually did it, we had one job, one freaking job, care for the planet, treat it like it was your own family, and for Gods sake! Don't start a nuclear war!

Well, as you can see, we didn't really listen. The human race is currently at the point of extinction because a few people were stupid enough to raid a top secret site, launch over ten-thousand nuclear bombs at opposing countries, starting World War III, otherwise known as Judgment Day

"Well, considering the people that were in power, I'm kinda surprised that this took so long to happen." I said to myself with a slight chuckle.

.

.

What? Give me a break, I just died! I think that gives me the right to poke fun at the world I live in!

Well...used to live in that is.

I mean, you think after two world wars, TWO, we would finally learn our lesson. Guess not. People said that mankind was it's own worst enemy, though I didn't think that we would be the cause of our own extinction. Then again, with how everyone's been acting before the war, it was going to happen sooner or later

"You'd think after Afghanistan became a nuclear wasteland, they would have called of the shots." I said "Nope! Let's just drag every single one of them down with us!"

Bunch of assholes.

Right, I guess I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Christian, Christian Pendraigen...I know, weird last name, and to simply put it, I'm dead, and probably most of the people living in the West Canada are either dead, about to be dead, or survived.

Then again...surviving in our world usually means that you have to live in a secluded and small areas. While that may be okay to some people...it tends to get a little...cramped. But I didn't die in a painless way, nope! I got blown up by a nuclear bomb and in-case you didn't know, it's not exactly the most painless way to go out

Then again, it's better than dying slowly from radiation poisoning. So I think it wasn't that bad

As of where I am...I'm nowhere. What I mean is that I'm sitting, well floating in some sort of empty void, everything I saw around me was black, void of anything. Now I don't is this is supposed to be purgatory, limbo or is there is some sort of god up there deciding if I should go up towards heaven or go straight to hell

But, Hell doesn't exactly sound that pleasant so being in here isn't so bad

"Though...it would be be nice to have SOMEONE to talk to!...It's quite lonely in here" I muttered

Well, I still have the same clothing I wore before I got blown up. Then again, it's better than a white robe, mainly I don't like white outfits...and it's not the way you think! It's just because white stains so easily and I had to throw out a ton of shirts because of that!

Then again, it would be better than wearing chains on my arms and legs

I'm currently wearing a black and blue short-sleeved checkered shirt. Under that shirt was a grey, long-sleeved shirt, dark-blue jeans and a pair of semi-white shoes with black laces.

In terms of appearance, I'm not drop-dead handsome, though I'm not exactly what some people would call ugly...at least that is what I think. I had short, blonde hair with blue eyes and white skin. I'm 16 years old and I'm 5'9 and weight about 140 lbs

...But now thinking about it, I guess there is no point now because I kicked the bucket, I don't that that'll matter in the afterlife.

I started to thin to myself as I floated around in nothingness, thinking about the events that just happened.

I really couldn't do anything, in-fact the only ting I could do now was think about my life, my friends and family, my hopes and dreams, everything I did or wanted to do...I started to recall the events that happened only mere hours ago

(Four Hours Ago) Quebec, Canada

It was all so sudden, everything seemed just fine, everyone was going about their normal day. Kids playing in the park, laughing and cheering as they throw and catch a ball. Adults were talking about whatever was on their mind about politics, sports or other topics in general. Teenagers were either playing sports, hanging out, talking what they were going to do over the weekend, such as going to parites, starting parties or playing Super Smash Brothers on their Nintendo Switches...or doing whatever some are doing these days. Like I said, everything looked and seemed fine at first

That's where I come in, I was with my friend Carson as we just got done talking about whatever could really come to mind. You know what a ladies man is...well...Carson is the direct opposite of that! He always seems to get a potential partner...only for them to break up for reasons I don't want to know

"Man, I can't believe I lost another one." He said is a disappointed tone, trying to get over his most recent break up.

"Meh, I wouldn't really let it get to you. Relationships are nothing but a trap really. You get into one and you can never get out without revealing your true self, in your case it's an asshole." I said.

"It's not all that bad man. It's nice to have a connection like that. Makes you feel as if you have someone to go through life with." Matt defended.

"Well, if we go by your logic, you just went through twenty-five lives. And that is not including the ones you're bound to pick up eventually" I said "I've been keeping track"

"Damn...that was cold man." He said.

"Perhaps. But you still stick around don't you?" I asked

"Yeah, it's good to talk to someone about this sorta stuff. Despite your method of talking is...blunt, you don't rat people out" Carson said

"I don't see anything wrong with being honest" I said "I just don't see the point of sugar coating things"

"What about you? Have you set your sights on anyone particular?" he asked

"Nah. I'm not really interested into getting in a relationship" I said "I'm just a one-man kind of guy"

"See, that's something I don't understand" Carson said "Why go through life alone, when you can't share at least a little bit of it with the people around you?"

I shrugged "I guess I just always prefer being on my own. Besides, this life is mine and I don't see the point of splitting it"

"You know you sound a little bit selfish, right?" He asked

"Maybe" I said "Anyways, when's number twenty-six coming in?"

"You make it sound like it's business" Carson said

"At this point, I can't take this stuff seriously anymore" I said

"And I was starting to question on how you can't get a date" Carson said

"The reason I can't get one is because I don't look for one" I said

"Well that and...your height. Girls tend to like guys that are taller than them" Carson said with a smirk

"Well they're missing out anyways!" I shouted

"Yeesh, you may be small but you have a big mouth" Carson said

"Well, what else is new?" I asked

Carson chuckled "Though I'm just messing with you. I'm sure there's someone out there crazy for you"

"Damn straight...But, don't get your hopes up" I said

"Still, I thought I really had something there' Carson said

"Well, there's plenty of fish in the sea! But you can't just keep on throwing in your rod, and reeling up every single fish that takes a bite" I said "I mean, one just click with you while others...not so much. But focus too much on one fish and you just might scare it off before you even had a chance with it"

Carson nodded "I guess you're right. Oh do you want to go out of town, I heard they'r rereleasing John Carpenters: The Thing at a drive-in theatre. I was gonna go out with Jamie...but you know how that turned out"

"We can't get out of town, remember?" I said, mentioning the constant patrol at the front of our town. Ever since this war started over a year ago, no one way able to travel anywhere. So the government decided that it would be for the best if we all stayed in our towns, our homes where the shelters were

I mean, I do appreciate everything that they're doing for us...but I hate the feeling of being cramped into a single area. I was able to endure it for a short while, but...patience can only last so long. As for some who had jobs outside of town, they had to quit their olds ones in order to help with patrols.

Patrolling the border, helping with supply runs, or just serving people who couldn't get back home for various reasons. Right now, most of Earth's countries are unable to support life because of the bombs, so a lot of people had to be sent up to other countries and cities to support them. Canada wasn't doing so hot either, Eastern Canada was pretty much a radioactive wasteland

So as of right now, everyone is currently fighting for land, and it doesn't help that our town had some of the best weapons our country had to offer...so that makes us a really big target for opposing nations

"Oh..." Carson said with disappointment in his voice "I just really hope that this god-forsaken war ends soon. I can't stand being cramped in here for much longer!"

"Tell me about it" I said

"So, if we can't do that...what else do you want to do?" He asked

But just as I was about to respond, Carson's phone went off, his ringtone was Bohemian Rhapsody...aka the best song in the whole world! Bite me! He was on the phone for the minute before he hung up and got up

"Sorry, but my mom wants me back home by six to help her cook dinner for everyone" Carson aplogized

I nodded, understanding that he had seven other siblings

"No offence...but your mom needs a new hobby" I joked

Carson chuckled "I'll be sure to tell her that"

"Well, see you around man." I said as I waved goodbye to him. He waved back as he got into his car and drove off. I decided that it would be best to head home myself. I didn't have a car and buses were always crowded, so I decided to walk home.

Well, it seems like everyone is doing something these days

I can't really do a lot to help around. I mean I do have my own problems to take care of...however...sometimes I do hate the feeling of being left out...of being useless while others are doing their best to help out as much as they can

However, every time someone in my friend circle tries to offer their help, they're always shrugged off and were told to just enjoy their childhoods...Pff as if!

A childhood with the constant loom of death and destruction over our heads! Best childhood ever!

There are multiple reasons why this town could be targeted, as mentioned, we have some of the best weaponry our country offers, we Also have most of our best scientists, soldiers, and medics working here.

Now why would the government make a decision like this? Well, not a lot of people expect there to be anyone important in a little town like this one. So they decided to cramp every important soldier, medic, scientist, etc in one area. So you can probably tell that it's really cramped.

Though even though that they're hard to find, they're not impossible to locate. It's only a matter of time until some random country decides to bomb the place.

Though that won't happen for a while.

.

.

Right?

I was just about half way home until I heard the sirens start to go off. Through the speakers, I heard the someone telling us to get to the shelter immediately.

"Incoming warheads, repeat, incoming warheads, please make your way to the shelter immediately."

.

.

"Well shit." I said to myself.I began to ran as fast as I could to my house to see if my mom was already packing to get to one of the nearby shelters...that is until I heard something like cannon fire in the skies above me. The only thing I could describe I saw was...Armageddon.

I started to breathe heavily as I whipped my head around to locate one of the nearby shelters "Come on, come on, where the hell is it!?" I shouted as I ran into town. As I ran back, I saw that there was no one to be found. I guess the town was already evacuated...but they FORGOT SOMEONE!

"You know...they should have signs for situations like this..." I trailed off as I whipped my head towards the sky "ESPECIALLY FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS!"

"Excuse me?" A voice asked

I turned around to see a little girl, probably no older than nine standing behind me

"What the fuck!? Is she lost or something?

"The he-heck are you doing out here!?" I asked, catching my swear

I never swear in front of a kid...however it would be funny

"I-I'm...looking for my mommy. Do you know where she is?" She asked

So she is lost...this is bad time to get lost kid

"No, I don't know" I said "But I think that she's in the shelter. I can take you there, however you'll have to ride on my shoulders. We're kind of running on a small schedule"

"What do you mean? What's happening?" She asked

...How doesn't she know!? Then again...it's probably better this way...especially for someone her age

"Something really bad is about to happen, and we need to make sure that we don't get in the way of that bad thing." I tried explaining as simply as I can.

"W-what?" She asked.

"Look, just come with me. I'll take you to where your mom is, alright?" I said.

"Really?! Thank you so much mister!" The girl said as she ran up to hug my leg.

"Alright, up and at em, we need to keep moving." I said as I picked her up and put her on my shoulders.

"Wee! It's so high up!" The girl said.

Heh, guess it's a good thing that she's able to keep her free spirits and all that.

"Let's get moving." I said as I started to run.

"Whoa! So fast!" She said.

We ran for at least five minutes, running down various streets, passing buildings and following the cars that were most likely heading for the shelter

"Hey, what's you name?" I asked "It seems kind of rude if I just keep calling you kid"

"Alice." The newly named Alice said.

"Nice name, the names Christian. Christian Pendraigen." I said.

"It's nice to meet you! Also, that's a strange name" Alice said

I chuckled "Yeah, I get that a lot. Apparently, it came from The Sword In The Stone"

"What's that?" Alice asked curiously

"It's a really old fairy tale" I said.

"Can you tall me what it's about?" Alice asked

Well...I guess this is a good way to pass the time...and to focus on something else besides the bombs

"Well...before any of us were born, the land was dark and treacherous. The people were divided, brother fighting brother" I said

"B-But why would they fight?" Alice asked

...Who knows anymore

"I'm not sure" I said "Anyways, the only hope for peace was in the legend of the sword known as Excalibur. For it was said that only the true king could pull this magical sword from it's stone...and unite the people. Many have tried, but all have failed. But then one day a little boy stepped forth and pulled the sword from the stone, this boy was Arthur Pendragon"

Yep...my mom named me after a legendary king

"Whoa..." Alice said in astonishment

I chuckled "With the sword at his side, he led the people out of the darkness and together the greatest kingdom was built...Camelot. Me and my mom love that tale. She used to read it to me when I was little before going to sleep"

"Hey, where are your parents?" Alice asked

'Well, I hope that my mom is safe at the shelter!" I said

"What about your daddy?" She asked.

My face soured at the word. "I...don't like talking about him."

"Why not?" Alice asked.

"Look, it's not exactly something I like talking about, so drop it." I said.

"...You don't have a daddy, do you?" She asked.

"Nosey one, aren't you?" I asked.

"That's okay, neither do I." Alice said.

"Wait...what?" I asked, turning my head back

Alice nodded "My daddy left when I was really young, mommy doesn't like to talk about it. But I would like to meet him some day!" She said.

"Why? He left you, he obviously doesn't care about you." I said.

.

.

Shit! That sounded REALLY insensitive.

"I don't believe that. Maybe he just had to go to keep mom and me safe." Alice said.

"Hate to be that guy but it's just me and my mom." I said.

"Oh! Sorry." She said.

"It's alright...I never had any desire to see that old bas- jerk" I said, catching my swear once more "He left me, so I don't care where he is or what he does."

"...Do you really believe that?" Alice asked.

"So what if I do?" I asked.

"What if he was just trying to keep you safe?" She asked.

"If that's the case, then he has a weird way of showing it." I said.

"We all do weird things. I do, mommy does, we all do. But that doesn't make us bad, right." Alice asked.

...Is this kid REALLY nine?

"How old are you kid?" I asked.

"Um..." She began, counting her fingers. "Eight."

E-eight? Like hell you are!

"R-right." I said.

"What if you met your daddy? What would you say to him?" She asked.

"I wouldn't say sh- crap to him" I said, catching a third swear "I would just punch him in the face." I said.

"That's not very nice!" Alice said.

"Well, he wasn't exactly very 'nice' when he left me." I said.

"What if he tried explaining to you why he did what he did?" She asked.

.

.

Good question, what if he did?

"I-I don't know." I said.

"Well, maybe you should give him a chance! I'm sure he's a nice man! I mean, your nice enough to take me to my mommy!" Alice said.

"Heh, you're a good kid. Don't loose that mentality, kay?" I said.

"I don't understand." She said.

"Don't worry about it, we're here." I said as I saw the pod leading down to the shelter ahead. "Okay, now all we have to do is-!" I began, only to read the words on the screen door.

Capacity: 587,923

Limit: 587,924

Are. You. Fucking. Kidding. Me!?

Alice must've noticed my distressed look "What's wrong Mister? Are you okay?"

"W-what? Oh, yeah, I'm fine." I said.

Oh who am I kidding, of course I'm fucking not! There's only room for one more person, and there's two of us!

"Where's mommy? Isn't she supposed to be here?" She asked.

I stood there in silence for a moment. I looked down at my free hand...thinking about what to do next. Sure we could run...but there is no way in hell we can outrun the blast radius of a nuke!

I sighed heavily, knowing what I had to do "You're a good kid. Stay that way for me, kay?"

"What?" She asked.

Though before she could question me any further, I shoved her into the pod and closed the doors.

There's no turning back now.

"M-Mister?!" She asked.

I didn't respond, I just desperately attempted to figure out how this pod worked. Shfting my finger up and down the control panel, trying to find the correct button to press

'Ugh! They could've at least made these simple!' I mentally scremaed

"W-what are you doing?! Why did you close the doors?! You need to get in!" Alice yelled.

"Sorry kid, only one of us will be making it down." I said.

Okay, I think you just press this button and-.Sure enough, the button leading down to the underground shelter activated. I saw Alice in the pod, descending safely underground as the final panels started to close

"W-what?!" She asked.

"Listen to me. You've got a bright future ahead of you, more so than me. Look for you mom and dad down there." I said, putting two of my fingers to my eyebrow. "See you on the flip side, kid." I said as the pod finally closed. I sighed and sat down on the ground. I saw the planes in the air, as they dropped the bombs...and were heading directly towards me.

I couldn't help but cry at this moment. I was going to die, sure I wasn't a good guy with me, but at least I lived my life happily. And in the end, I helped someone else...and I'm fine with that "...I'm okay with this. Be good kid, be better than me." I said as I closed my eyes

Sure enough, I felt the very earth tremble, meaning that the bombs had struck the ground and had detonated. I didn't feel any pain, everything was numb, I could only see a bright light in front of me as I felt my consciousness slip away. Though before I fell into unconsciousness, I could hear a voice calling out to me.

"You're going to be alright." I heard a female voice say.

Then, nothingness.

(Present Day) ?

And after that, I woke up here...in this empty void of nothingness. At first I tried to see if there was anyone else around me that could help me, and after calling out for a solid twenty minutes and getting nothing I began to try to see if I could move my body.

The only thing that I could only really do were flips and swing my arms around, after five minutes of that, I gave up and just floated, trying to process the events that have just unfolded. I couldn't believe it, everything was gone, taken from me in a matter of seconds. My family, my friends, my brother, my life, It was all gone.

"But...it was bound to happen eventually." I said. "Though still, out of all the things we could have done to kill ourselves off, we choose the most painful way to go...I wonder if that kid found her family."

.

.

"Maybe...I never liked thinking about things like this to hard. More questions just keep popping up." I said "What about my mom? I hope she made it to the shelters in one piece." I said in a concerned tone.

.

.

"Damn it, this is why I never liked thinking about this kind of stuff! It makes you a depressed mess." I said, burying my hands into my face "Still, hard not to think about it, I mean, it's really the only thing I CAN do at the moment."

After remembering the events that have just unfolded, a white light appeared in the distance.

"What the hell?" I asked myself as I looked towards the light "Is that the gateway to heaven or something? Or...is this reincarnation?" I asked myself. I fell to the ground with a loud thud, gripping my back in pain from the sudden fall. I started to get up.

"Jeez, a little warning would have been nice!" I yelled to no one in particular. After not getting a response I decided to look at the light in the distance. "So I'm assuming that this is the way to the afterlife?" I asked.

"Maybe the reincarnation theory is right after all, and the second I walk into this light, I'll be born as someone new without any memories of my past life." I said.

"Well, which is it?"

.

.

"So either this or that, great! I LOVE these kinds of surprises." I said in a sarcastic tone

However, I felt that the light was...calling to me.

Usually if a creepy voice is telling you to go towards the light, you should probably ignore it.

As I got up I had to make another decision, well the last decision I made costed my life so one more wouldn't hurt...right? Then again I came to that decision in the first place so no point complaining.

Back to the light, it was a soothing kind of light, it felt...warm, welcoming.

I shrugged as I began walking towards the light at the end of the tunnel "Jesus! Why is this light so fucking bright!? Are you trying to blind someone!?" I said as I shielded my eyes from the light in front of me

"Well hopefully this is the way to the afterlife, I hope I don't see any of mt friends or family in there, it'll give me some comfort in knowing they got out alive." I said.

I started to walk into the light and as the light began to fade, I could see my surroundings more clearly. As I looked around to take in my surroundings I could clearly see that I was in...a forest?

"Okay...not what I was expecting" I said, as I slowly got up, only for me grab my side in pain "Ow, ow, ow!"

While still holding my side, I got up as slowly as I could. As I stood up, I looked as I took in my surroundings. To the right of me was a fairly large pond, similar to the one I had at home. and surrounding this are was a series of trees, varying different shapes and sizes

"Am I in heaven?" I asked

...No, if I really was in Heaven, then I would be standing on clouds and not grass

.

.

Wait...what if everything that just happened, was just a dream?

I mean, it's the only thing that makes sense, right?

But...how did I end up all the way out here?

Thinking I might've been robbed. I quickly did a small pat down, until I felt two budges in my pocket. I used my left hand to pull out two items, which was my phone and my wallet

I sighed in relief at the sight of my wallet and my phone, both of which were still intact.I immediately put my wallet back in my pocket, and began to unlock my phone.

"I might as well try calling my mom...and that is a call I'm not looking forward too" I muttered "But, I guess it's better than being stuck out here" I said, as I called my mom. I brought up my phone to my ear and waited

But after a few seconds, I brought my phone down to see "Call Failed" on the screen. I glanced to the top right of my phone screen, only for me to realize that I had no signal

So, wherever the hell I was, I was way too far from any nearby settlement

My next option was to scream at the top of my lungs, hoping that someone...anyone can hear me. But then again, I might be attracting wolves, or other animals.

So that was off the list

I sighed as I closed my eyes and pinched my temples with my right hand and shook my head "What the hell is going on?" I muttered

But as I opened my eyes, I noticed that there was something big on-top of my right hand

"SHIT!" I shouted, trying to shake whatever was on my hand off. When that didn't work, I began to slammed my fist onto the ground "GET OFF! GET OFF! GET OFF!" I that also didn't work, so out of desperation, my hand shot towards the water, trying to drown whatever was on my hand

.

.

But...there was nothing...no squirming...no splashing...nothing. In-fact whatever was on my hand wasn't hurting me at all. I took in a deep breath as I slowly lifted my shaking hand out of the water, where I saw whatever was on my arm

Whatever it was, it was some sort of...blue gauntlet that covered the upper part of my arm. It had a large, red jewel that glistened traces of light and two golden spikes at the side

"What...the hell!?" I said in shock. I began to turn and twisted my arm, inspecting the gadget on my arm. However as I began to inspect it, I looked at my reflection in the water...but what I wasn't expecting was the shattered moon behind me

I whipped my head, as my eyes widened in shock. I quickly rubbed my eyes, making sure that I was just seeing things...only to be met with the same sight

D-Did the war escalate like this!?

Did they have to go after the fucking moon as well!?

But then again, it kind of reminds me of that series I watched.

I shook my head as I looked at the gauntlet on my arm. But...what was it exactly?

Well, whatever it is, it's coming off, NOW!

I began to pry the gauntlet off of my arm...but after a few minutes of non-stop pulling, it wouldn't even budge. I began to pull harder and harder, but as I did, it almost felt like the skin on my arm was getting pulled off as well.

But I didn't care. It might've been a bomb on my wrist and I refuse getting blown up a second time!

As I continued to pull the gauntlet off, something shot out from where the knuckles were, causing me to stop and stumble a little...it was some sort of silver blade with a blueish-red grip

...Okay...so it's defiantly not a bomb

Out out options, I sighed in defeat as I sat down and laid down against one of the trees. I lifted my head towards the stary night sky, towards the shattered moon

Probably for the first time, I didn't know what to do. It's a miracle that I was staying calm...aside when I was trying to shake that...gauntlet-thing off of my arm.

I was probably sitting there for at least ten-minutes. But I then realized, that the sooner I get up, the sooner I'd probably reach some sort of settlement

But, traveling around in the dark is the usually the worse idea that anyone could imagine...but hey...at least I have something to defend myself with. So, I guess it isn't that bad.

However...as I got up, I suddenly heard a very deep growl. I immediately froze at the sound of it and slowly turned my head around...to see a very large wolf in the tree-line

"O-Okay then...it's j-just a wolf...n-nothing to be scared of" I stumbled

But as the wolf made it's way through the tree-line, the moon's light sone on it's form. My eye's widened in a mixture of shock and horror at what it was

The wolf stood on it's hind legs, albeit with a slouch and is extremely muscular. It had a bone-like mask with red markings, as well as the bone-like spikes protruding from their arms, back, and knees. Their hands and feet are also tipped with long, sharp, white claws. And it had an "aura" the reeked of despair

It was a Beowolf.

B-But that should be impossible!

My whole body started to shake at the sight of the Beowolf as it started to circle me...almost as if it was inspecting me. All of a sudden, it lunged towards me with it's claws reeled back

By sheer instinct I immediately crouched down just as it swung one of it's claws at me, barely missing my shirt. The Beowolf crashed on the ground, it quickly spun it's body around mid-air and drove its claws into the ground to slow his momentum

Using that opportunity, I began to run like hell throughout the forest. I quickly glanced behind me to see the Beowolf running on all four and was quickly catching up to me.

As my focus was on the Beowolf, I suddenly tripped over something, I whipped my head to see that I had tripped over a very large root. Before I managed to get up, the Beowolf pounced on me. On instinct I closed my eyes and brought my right arm up, bracing for what's to come.

.

.

.

But...it never came. Instead of being torn to shreds...there was a sudden painful howl just from above me. I slowly opened my eyes to see I stabbed the Beowolf through the gut with my guauntlet-sword-thing!...I need a better name for this thing

"Heh heh...heh...that...was close" I wheezed

My train of thought was cut off when I realized that the Beowulf was still alive. I quicklt locked my right arm into place, with it being the only thing that was preventing me from being eaten

It began to snap it's jaws at me, as saliva drooled from its fangs. It swiped it's claws back and forth. I suddenly felt excruciating pain from my left abdomen. I yelled out in pain as I saw that the Beowolf drove one of it's claws on his hind leg's into my abdomen, splatering a nearby rock with a coat of blood

"GET OFF!" I shouted, trying to push the massive beast off of me

My arm was shaking like crazy, part of my arm suddenly buckled in slightly. Causing the Beowolf's jaws to come closer and closer. This made it snapped harder and faster than it did before. It then drove more of it's claws into my abdomen, making me cry out in pain once more as more blood spray across the grass

"GET OFF!" I cried once more, putting in more force into the push to no avail. The Beowold suddenly brought one of it's hind arms towards my stomach area and began to claw at it. Blood began flowing out of it as I felt weaker by the second

"I SAID..." I shouted. But unknown to me, the red jewel in the gauntlet began to glow a violent blood-red colour. The jewel was growing brighter and brighter by the second. The with the remain strength I had, I pushed up as hard as I could...only for something unexpected to happen "GET!...OOOFFFFFF!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.

But then to my surprise, my gauntlet fired a pure beam of crimson energy from it's palm, blasting the Beowolf in half, before vaporizing into nothing but ash

.

.

I started to breathe heavily at what just occurred "What...the...f-..."I could feel my conscious slipping once more as my eyes got heavier by the second...only for me to pass out on the forest floor

(Timeskip) ?, (3rd Person POV)

I could feel myself regaining conscious once more. My eyes slowly opened as they adjust to their surroundings. As I looked around to take in my surroundings I could clearly see that i was in a...hospital...and was wearing a hospital gown?

"Okay...not what I was expecting...but then again...its better than being six feet in the ground." I said to myself. My eyes widened as I whipped my head towards my right arm, expecting to see the blue gauntlet...only to see it wasn't there

I inspected my arm to see if their were stitches, scars, or anything to see if someone cut it off. After a few seconds of inspecting my arm. I then lifted my hospital gown to see if there were any signs of claw marks from the previous night...but there weren't any

I sighed in relief as I laid back down on the hospital bed "So...everything was just a dream...a dream inside of a dream"

But...everything felt so real...I felt the heat from the bomb...it was real

Maybe...the reincarnation theory was correct?

I shook my head as I got up from the bed, though as my feet touched the floor, my legs started to burn with a sudden pain "GAH!" I yelled as a I fell to the floor "Okay, that hurt, that really fucking hurt!"

After the pain had subsided, I got up, looked to the right of me to see that there was a tube in my right arm and was connected to some sort of IV bag, which was hooked on a metal pole. I grabbed the metal pole and pulled myself up.

I started to look around my surroundings. To the left of me was a small bedside table, and on top of it was a small vase with various kinds of flowers, just a few feet from it was a door rim, I tilted my head to the side to see a toilet, presumably some sort of bathroom. To the right of me was a large window, that was being covered by a large, green curtain. And in front of me was a large door with a smei-golden/yellow doorknob

'Yep, this is definitely hospital' I thought to myself. Using the metal pole as leverage, I dragged myself towards the bathroom and immediately looked into a mirror. I could see that my face didn't change in the slightest

I sighed "Good, I kinda like this face. So I guess reincarnation is out the window"

Then again, if it really was reincarnation...then I would be smaller, well smaller than I am now and I would be in someones arms. I also still I have my memories...maybe...everything was a dream

.

.

Then why would I be in the hospital?

Maybe I survived the blast...actually...that is highly unlikely but hey, it's the only possible thing I can thing of.

I began to lift up my hospital gown and checked my body for burns or any kind of wounds "Okay, legs...no. Arms?...no. Body? No! Okay, what the hell is going on!?"

I then turned my attention towards the door, which presumably will lead me into the main hallway.

I guess it's time to get some answers.

I stumbled across the room, still holding onto the pole, at least until I could properly stand. I reached towards the door knob, jiggled it and realized that the door was locked. I continued to jiggle it a few more times before giving up

Am I in quarantine or something?

If that was the case then there wouldn't be a window with a curtain covering it. Then again, I do appreciate the privacy. But there was still one question I would like to get answered "Where am I?" I asked as I opened the curtains.

Though what I saw made me question the very state of my sanity itself.

In-front of me, was a very large academy, consisting of multiple buildings, presumably some sort of living quarters

The courtyard consisted of a large circular pond feature surrounded by a pathway and a garden of red trees. And in the middle of it, was a large statue featuring two figures, one a male and the other a younger-looking female, standing on a rock outcropping. They are both dressed in a robe with hoods over their heads.

The male has a sword in his right hand, raised in a seemingly triumphant gesture. The younger female has a double-edged battle-ax in her left hand and looks off to the side into the distance. Below the two figures is a wolf-like monster looking in the same direction as the male figure.

But the most prominent part of the area was tower that was surmounted by a number of green lights, as well as an intricate clockwork mechanism consisting of many interlocking cogs and gears.

What I saw was Beacon Academy, from the internet series, RWBY.

I closed the curtains, then opened them again

Closed.

Open.

Closed.

Open.

I did this for a few more seconds, though every time I did, I was met with the same sight as before...as if somehow that was going got change the sight in-front of me

"M-Maybe this is some sort of simulation! T-That explains everything!" I suggested "Maybe they're just checking what kind of effects radiation has on me, mentality!"

...Actually...that doesn't make me feel any better. Wait, how did they know I even watched the series?

I sighed as I looked around the room, looking for something to throw. If this was some sort of simulation, then that would mean that the ceiling and the view outside were nothing more than just screens! I used the metal pole into the ceiling, only for nthing but dust to pour out, causing me to cough out a storm

"*cough*Okay, bad idea!*cough*Bad idea!" I said in between coughs. I shook myself as I looked for something else to throw. I eventually settled on the vase full of flowers, grabbed the vase and...opened the windows?

"Huh...shouldn't the windows be locked or something?" I asked. But I payed no attention to it. I grabbed the vase and threw it out the window, expecting it to hit something, a wall or at least a solid surface...only for it to continue it's path I threw it on.

As my eyes countinued to follow where the vase was going to land, I realized that someone was crossing the courtyard. And through sheer bad luck, the vase struck him on the head, immediately knocking the poor person out

"Oooo..." I cringed. However just as i was about to go back, I noticed what that person was wearing. That person was wearing a uniform that consisted of black suits lined with gold, accompanied by a blue vest and a white shirt with a red tie. I glanced to the left of him to see that a small device fel out of his pocket...it looked like a scroll

"Okay...what the hell is going on!?" I slightly shouted to myself. However, before I could question anything else further, I was cut off from the sound of someone fiddling with the doorknob from the outside.

My first instinct was to hop back into the hospital bed and pretend that I was asleep...but, Ive already made so much of a mess that they would immediately know that I was up

I immediately braced myself for whoever, or whatever was on the other side of that door. But as the doors opened, there was a woman

The women had a sort of peach colored hair, neatly tied into a bun, red eyes and sort of mocha colored skin. She was wearing what looks like a small lab coat with black outlines on it, what looked like a pair of safety goggles, a pair of black boots that went past her knees and black gloves that reached past her elbows.

Who has pink hair these days anyway!?

.

.

Okay...I guess a few people do. They can dye it too. But...red eyes!?

The woman yelped in surprise, not expecting me to be awake and out of bed, causing her to drop a tray of food that she was carrying

Damn...I was getting hungry, and that looked good too

The woman then regained her composure and fixed her googles she wore on her head back to where it was "I see you're finally awake now, you were out cold for quite some time, young man." She in said as she began to clean up the mess she just made.

"W-Who are you, and how long was I out for?" I asked her, confused and shocked at the whole situation that was taking place here.

"Oh, I'm sorry, where are my manners? My name is Vanessa Peach, I'm the doctor who was taking care of you. You were out for quite some time, I think it was about four days." She said as she finished cleaning up the spilled food.

"Oh, okay." I said, then after a few seconds, my eyes widened with shock "Wait, FOUR DAYS?!" I yelled in surprise.

F-FOUR DAYS!? It didn't feel that long in the void! It felt like hours in that place!

"Where the hell am I?" I asked

Vanessa placed the spilled food into the outside trashcan

Vanessa as she put the spilled food into the trashcan just outside "Now, now. There's no need to be hostile. Let's just take a deep breathe and calm down."

Calm down!? CALM DOWN!? How IN THE HELL AM I SUPSED TO CALM DOWN!? I'VE JUST BEEN BLOWN UP, AND I WOKE UP HERE, I WANT ANSWERS. I MEAN, I SHOULD BE DEAD!

But...I highly doubt I would get some answers, screaming like a banshee. So I took in a deep breath before speaking "If you answer the question, maybe I might calm down a bit." I said.

.

"Alright, fair enough. You're in the Beacon Academy's Medical District, young man." She said with a warm smile.

.

.

"I'm sorry...what?" I asked in complete and utter shock.

No, no, no! That can't be right. It's just a web series, nothing more.

"V-very funny. Now tell me where I REALLY am." I said.

"I'm not joking, you're actually in Beacon academy." Peach said.

.

.

Okay, this is getting REALLY old!

In a state of panic, I quickly rushed into the bathroom that was in the room. "Calm down, calm down." I said as I turned on the sink and splashed a hand full of water onto my face. "This is all some kind of joke! There's no way in hell you're in Remnant." I tried to reassure myself.

"Young man! Are you okay?!" I heard Vanessa asked.

J-just ignore her. Okay, think. How exactly can you prove that you're NOT in Remnant?

.

.

Right! If I look outside to see that there's nothing but dust and bits of metal from the bombs, then I can be sure that I'm on Earth!

I quickly rushed outside the bathroom and towards the curtains.

"Excuse me! I don't think you should be out of bed so soon!" She said.

She's not there, I'm just going crazy!

"I mean, the headmaster did find you with major claw wounds! You shouldn't be getting out of bed so soon!"

Just ignore her. Don't listen to her!

"He also said he found this mysterious weapon next to you, maybe you could tell us about it?"

Wait... a weapon...wait...the gauntlet!

.

.

"Damn it! What the hell is happening?! I shouldn't be here! I should be dead!" I said a bit to loudly.

"W-what do you mean?" Peach asked.

"SHUT UP!" I yelled, running out of the bathroom, falling down as I did due to the pain in my legs not yet subsiding. "GAH!" I yelled.

"Young man!" She yelled as she ran to my side.

Though before I could continue, a small crystal fell out of Peach's pocket and rolled past me...a Dust crystal

.

.

"Young man? A-are you okay?" I barely heard Vanessa ask.

You know, I'm sensing a slight sense of irony coming from this situation, and not the good kind!

Now don't get me wrong, I like irony just as much as the next guy, but this is too much, even for me.

So, I did what any sane human being would due put in said situation.

I passed out on the hospital floor once more, hearing Vanessa's cries of concern as everything faded to black.

And, heres the first chapter I guess. As mentioned, this is my own adaptation of "Remnant's of Another World". I do highly recommend it that you should read The Quebecs story. Just keep in mind that he discontinued it

And before anyone asks any questions, no the weapon is NOT a sword, well it partially is. But it is something, that some of you may be familiar with

I do want to change up the story as much as I can, which include the change of dialogue, characters and more
