BEEEP! BEEEEP! "It's 4:30, you lazy bitch! Get up!" BEE-
A pale hand slammed down onto the 'Dismiss' button of the alarm next to the small bed, resting on it a few seconds as it's owner gradually awakened. A cascading waterfall of golden hair rose from the bundle of blue and red sheets atop the mattress, groaning as it rubbed its eyes. As Azrael Hendo wiped sweat from his forehead and sat up fully, he glanced at his hands. They were shaking. Closing his eyes, he breathed out once, then twice. When he opened them again, he was no longer shaking. Good, because the morning was only just beginning. Today was going to be an exceptionally wild morning too...
Tossing his sheets off himself and getting up, Azrael entered the bathroom across from his room to get his face washed and teeth brushed. Flipping on the lights and slipping the door closed, he took the time to fully look at himself in the mirror. His hair was a bit messy in the front, having been plastered to his sweating face last night. His eyes had this weird thing of drooping a bit so he always looked really tired, but he was always very active. It weirded people out on first meetings, but he didn't care all that much about the opinions of others anyway. He was 18, he'd had enough time to grow out of his 'emo' phase. He was very fit, but was still pretty lean over all. He already had a pretty face, the somewhat androgynous figure didn't help the 'mistaking him for a girl thing'...
Brushing his hair aside and snapping his green eyes back to the mirror, he sighed. Azrael was apparently the spitting image of his father, at least to his older sister. Though a bit taller at 6'2, she said that his height made up for the lack of brains their father had. Grabbing his toothbrush, he considered maybe putting cologne on or something. No, that'd just be a dumbass move. No one wants to be the 'cologne guy' at a new school, even if you're just there for your last year. As he scrubbed away, he hummed a little tune from a sermon he'd remembered going to as a child. He wasn't particularly religious, at least not compared to his mother, but he didn't hate religion either. Rinsing his mouth and placing the toothbrush back, he removed his t-shirt and boxers and started the shower. Hopping in, he closed the shutter and began mulling over his thoughts.
After finishing his shower and slipping on his black uniform pants, he gazed at his array of shirts to wear under his uniform jacket. Reaching out, he snagged a white t-shirt with no logo. Might as well go basic as a look. Slipping his clothing on and checking his watch, he sighed. It was already 5:00. He'd spent too much time in the shower. Jogging down the stairs to the first of the two floors, he immediately took a right into the kitchen, only pausing once he got in front of the fridge. What would Mother like for breakfast….Maybe some curry? Yeah, something basic like curry would be able to be taken in a bowl easily enough for his own lunch too. He snagged his ingredients and began boiling some water. He'd have to make sure she could get to it easily, considering, or else it might be a problem.
His mother hadn't always blind, at least according to her. She'd been blind since before she met their father, and was still blind now. The only thing he inherited from his mother was her ridiculously ironclad will. That woman had taken everything on herself when his sister Mary had gone off to university, saying that she would do whatever it took to make her children happy. But she couldn't do all the cooking, cleaning, and things like that. As a result of all her effort, she fell incredibly ill, to a point where neither child thought she would survive. But as if it were a miracle, she recovered enough to regain use of her body, her legs the only part of her so unsteady to require special treatment. So Mary and Azrael had taken it upon themselves to do those in her stead once their father vanished. As a result, one or both of them getting up very early to prepare things for her day was just routine. Snapping out of his idle thinking, he noticed the pot was boiling. Good, finally.
Azrael had always been an amazing cook, but he'd really excelled when Mary had left to pursue her dreams. The 14-year old had kicked everything up a notch to make up for his sister's absence, and cooking was just one of those things. Pouring the finished curry into a bowl next to some steamed rice and covering it with a plate, he placed it on the counter for his mother to have. The rest of the curry mixture would go into his lunch pack. Rice, curry, an apple, and a singular wafer. He wanted to treat himself. Sweeping up the floor, washing any leftover dishes, and placing his mother's wheelchair next to her sleeping frame, he smiled at the snoring woman, her brown locks bobbing in the soft air of her mounted fan. Stepping out slowly, he slowly closed the door and snagged his bookbag. Looking at the clock, he smiled. Perfect, 6:30. He'd be at Kuoh at around 7 and have an hour to get things he needed from his teachers. Heading out the door, the young man breathed in the air of a crisp April morning, beginning his leisurely stroll to the place that would change his life irrevocably.
Author's Note(Henceforth referred to as A/N): Hello! You may be wondering 'The fuck is this, Author?' The answer is….No fuckin' clue! I had the idea for a half-angel OC in High School DxD and ran with it. This story is going to start off rather serious, then start to devolve into DxD's usual insanity. This is NOT a 'OC takes Issei's place and is just better than him at everything because I said so'. Issei is still around, Issei is still(90% of the time) the hero of the situation. It's just the events that occur that require him to be a hero might change thanks to Azrael's involvement. So if that interests you, please stay tuned! I plan to go all the way to Volume 24, then even do some EX stuff after that if I'm still motivated! Any questions, etc; Do share!
