The Shinigami of the Shinto

I do not own Bleach, or cancer known as Highschool DxD. They rightfully belong to Tite Kubo and Ichiei Ishibumi. And even though I do not like or watched the anime, I know a bit about it from other Bleach/DxD stories.

Most of the characters might be OOC, I was never the best at making them like their canon selves, so please forgive me.

Karakura Town

It was storming outside of Karakura High School, and Ichigo Kurosaki was watching it during his lunch break. Normally the orange head would be hanging around with his friends, but since his powers disappeared they started avoiding him, thinking that he would want to be alone.

Ichigo didn't blame them, he didn't blame any of them. Not Hat-and-Clogs, not even his father. He blamed no one for what is happening. But he did wish them to stop avoiding him. Every time he tries to talk to them, they get nervous or make excuses as to why they need to leave.

Ichigo spent so much time in his mind and watching the rain, that he didn't notice that the bell rang and the start of class. So with releasing a sigh he turned away from the window and looked towards his teacher. But when he did he found a bright orange ball in front of him.

Ichigo raised a barrow at the orb, and unknowingly he reached out to the bright orb. The closer his hand got Ichigo got the feeling like he was once again in his mother's embrace. Ichigo shook his head and noticed what he was doing. He reached out to his arm to stop it, and once he grabbed it he regained feeling and control of it.

"Kurosaki!" He heard his homeroom teacher yell out. He looked up to her, and when he did he found chalk being thrown at him. He swatted it away making the Ochi raise a brow. "Focus up here, Kurosaki. And what were you reaching for anyway?"

Ichigo looked to where the orb once was and found that it was gone. "Uhhh… nothing." He answered her question.

His teacher raised a brow and shrugged. "Well focus class has started, and even if your grades are getting better, you still need to focus." She finished looking back to the board and continued teaching.

Ichigo sighed and looked back outside to where the rain got heavier. 'What was up with that? And why was I reminded of Mother?" Ichigo sighed again and looked towards the front of the class where he focused on his lesson.

Little did he know that the spiritually induced people in his class, also noticed the orange orb, and the glow it gave. All of them gave a different reaction. But all had one thing similar, and that was something spiritual was happening to their residential Strawberry.

Later That Same Day

Ichigo was in his room laying on his back, as he looked out of the window, watching as the rain continued to fall. But in all honesty, his mind was claimed by something else entirely. What claimed his mind was the orange orb that showed up in class.

The orb reminded him of his mother's embraces, and how it warmed him to the core. But also how he felt compelled to touch it, and now that he thought of it, he also thought of the memories he had as a shinigami.

Ichigo shook his head, not wanting those thoughts. They were of the past, and he already gave up on the thought of gaining his powers again… so he thought.

With a sigh, Ichigo turned over on his side and closed his eyes. Only wanting to rest his eyes, and not have the thoughts of his powers, and his friends.

The room was quiet as he held his eyes closed and listened to the rain hitting his windows. In all honesty, it started to make Ichigo drowsy. The quiet of his room, the calming sound of the rain hitting his windows, and the quiet house he was in. This was the environment that calmed people's troubled mind, and soul.

Within seconds Ichigo fell asleep, his view turned to darkness, and an unknowing warmth warmed his back, almost like a woman's body.

'What!' Ichigo shot up and looked over to see where the feeling was coming from, but when he did he found that orange orb floating there. This time when Ichigo noticed the orange ball he moved his hand to it, getting a feeling to just do it, and when he placed his hand on the orb he felt a burning, a good burning, feeling in his hand.

The feeling soon moved up his body, giving him the feeling of drinking tea and as it warmed his body. With it, the orb slowly grew brighter, and brighter to where his room was filled with the light, and then a flash, one that blinded him with a bright white light, and soon Ichigo felt like he was flying, and then he felt himself lose consciousness, and then darkness.

Outside of the Kurosaki household, were both Yuzu and Karin Kurosaki. Both had wide eyes as they watched a bright light fade from their big brother's room. It didn't take much for them to realize what happened and both ran into their home taking off their shoes as they did, and both yelled out for their brother.

"Ichigo!" They both yelled as they slammed their brother's door open, and when they did they found Ichigo gone, leaving his school bag, and uniform jacket.

Both sisters looked to each other, and with a nod they both ran out of the room, one going for the phone and the other putting their shoes on to leave.

Somewhere Else

When Ichigo regained consciousness he slowly opened his eyes to see a bright sky, with a brighter sun. The sight was soon blocked by a beautiful lady's face. The lady had long flowing hair, bright orange eyes, and the smile on her face was beyond even that.

"So you've finally awakened my son." The lady spoke, and her voice made Ichigo's heart stop. When Ichigo didn't respond the lady laughed. "You must like your pillow, Ichigo Kurosaki."

With that Ichigo finally realized where his head was placed, and shot up into a sitting position, and looked around, and what he saw was breathtaking. The place was beautiful, with Japanese traditional arches, and houses. But what truly shocked Ichigo was the castle/shrine on top of a hill. The shrine was Himeji Castle but with pure, pure, bright white walls, bright red roofs and the building was glowing.

The lady smiled as she watched his reaction, and when she spoke, Ichigo found himself staring at her. "It's beautiful isn't it?" She asked, and watched Ichigo nodded dumbly, making the lady giggle, a heavenly sound.

After a few minutes of looking around, noticing fox eared, and tailed people looking towards them, all with wide eyes, Ichigo finally was able to speak, and the first thing he did was ask. "Where am I, and how did I get here?" He then looked over at the beautiful lady that he was just reminded of laying his head on her lap.

The lady smiled and answered with complete honesty, and the answer scared the orange head. "Well, you're in Takamagahara, the home of the Shinto gods, and Goddess. But also the place your soul was born." Ichigo lost all colour in his face, completely ignoring the last bit. That made the lady giggle again. "No need to worry my son, you aren't dead." The lady then reached out and cupped Ichigo's cheek. "And how you got here. Well, that's simple, Kurosaki Ichigo. I brought you here, and let me say that the Shintos and I have been dying to meet you." Everyone heard the pop of the orange-haired boy's jaw drop, making the now known goddess giggle, and when she stopped she smiled at Ichigo and spoke. "Ohh I almost forgot." She slowly got up. "Let me introduce myself, Kurosaki Ichigo." She gave a slight bow. "I am Amaterasu, the Goddess of the Sun, the Queen of the Kamis, and Ruler of Takamagahara. But also the Mother of the Shinagami, but that was centuries ago." She finished.

With that Ichigo stopped functioning, mouth held open, and eyes wide. But then he heard something, a whisper in his mind, something similar but not similar. "Look… f… me. Gr… m…." The voice wasn't familiar but even so, Ichigo started looking around, hoping to find where the voice was coming from.
