A/N Here is chapter 10 for you all hope you like it. Also like I've mentioned before updates may be slow and take me awhile to do
Standing in front of the man who called himself the dark lord was becoming something of a regular occurrence for Hermione, who not that long ago found herself in the exact same position. The only difference between then and now was that she wasn't half-naked with bandages saving her modesty, or that one of the most feared death eaters was holding her in their arms with such gentleness that no one knew existed. After a few awkward moments of silence, Bella lowered Hermione down slowly making sure not to irritate any wounds however it seemed being gentle was pointless because the second the young witches feet hit the ground, she threw herself at the dark lord, settling in his lap with a childish grin rubbing the top of his head.
"I wonder if I can make your head shiner" Hermione muttered unaware of the sneers and glares that were aimed in her directions from the crowd that had gathered around the room and the mortified look on her wife's faces.
Staring at the girl in his lap Voldemort couldn't help but feel amused and somewhat baffled at the behavior the Mudblood was showing. He had heard the stories from young Draco about how Hermione was intellectually better at almost everything, how she was a teacher's pet with, A stuck up know-it-all with next to no friends. However from what he has seen from the events that had transpired in the last week suggested anything but what Draco had described. Sitting in his lap is a woman who had just as much darkness in her as light somewhat balancing each other out. It was rare to see someone who could be called neither be full dark nor light, and things had been different he would have welcomed the young witch with open arms, to perhaps nurture her to become someone to truly fear. Yet as things stand he knew her loyalty lay with those who she calls friends which is why he would not attempt to sway her.
"My lord please forgive me for my wife's actions, I did not know she was feeling much better to the point of insulting you and forgetting that she is still indeed injured" Narcissa spoke up her voice taking on a hardened tone making Hermione the blonde was scolding her rather than apologizing on her behalf
Voldemort was about to tell the woman who was one of his precious followers that everything was alright. But before he could mutter a single word he was interrupted.
"My lord how can you allow such filth to grace your presence, and why the ever more do you allow a mudblood whore to speak to you. I say give her to me and ill make sure the bitch knows where she belongs" All heads turned to the man who dared speak out against their lord's decision. He was one of the newer members to grace the inner circle having to fill in for greyback, having been bitten by the man himself and turned. Those who were loyal and wise chose to keep their mouths shut when it came to the girl and the man they had sworn allegiance to because they knew that Voldemort would torture them or worse kill and they did not want the latter.
"One more word from your mouth and ill cut your tongue and shove it so far up your ass" If Bella wasn't focused on her little witch in her lord's lap she would have cursed the man who dared call Hermione a mudblood in her presence and do worse for calling her a bitch. So instead she let out a dangerous growl towards the wolf warning him
"How dare you speak to me, you deranged witch. Our lord should have killed you when he had the chance, you don't belong next to him"
Hermione turned her head slowly towards the man, as the atmosphere in the room darkened significantly dropping a few degrees at the insult. Before anyone could blink she had surged forward off of the lap of one of the most feared dark wizards and across the table grabbing the man by his neck, in a surprisingly strong grip allowing gravity to make him fall back with her on top straddling him. Her eyes had taken an almost black pitch color to them as she stared down at the man who had the audacity to insult not only herself but her wife as well, ignoring the pain of her wounds reopening.
"How dare you" She gripped harder against the flesh beneath her hand as the man struggled, clawing at her hand trying but failing to pry them away from his neck, his strength seemingly no match to the little girl above him.
If it had been any other day Voldemort would have allowed the men who sat at the long table to speak their minds having faith in them to know when they went too far and what would happen if they did, and he liked to believe that they would be wary of what they spoke of in front of Bellatrix as certain subjects tended to set her off, However, things were different. The poor choice of a replacement had just signed his life over by not insulting the young witch that seemed to find herself drawn into his business but by insulting Bellatrix in front of someone who wasn't afraid any longer to take what she wanted and to do what was needed to protect her own.
Narcissa wanted to walk over to the useless wizard and curse him herself once he had opened his mouth hating the fact that he had the audacity to say what he did to her wife and yes there was a small part of her that was angry on behalf of her sister but she had held herself back not wanting to make things bigger then what they were. But it seemed like someone else had the exact opposite idea to what she had because one moment Hermione was smiling happily on Voldemort's lap and then the next she was strangling the life from the idiot. She could feel the waves of anger rolling off her wife the more she pressed harder against the man's neck.
"Hermione love" Seeing No one wanted to approach the girl as they were afraid of the reaction from her Narcissa decided to approach Hermione placing a hand on the girl's shoulder, squeezing it slightly to gain her attention.
At first, Hermione didn't respond as she was to consumed in her anger and the need to kill the man withering under her, to notice that someone was trying to get her attention. Until she felt soft hands pulling at her own to let go of the man's throat did her anger subside enough to recognize the faint call of her name from her wife
"Hermione it's alright" Narcissa's voice held a soft tone to it one that was usually reserved only to her son and recently her wife.
As her anger disappeared the pain from her wounds started to make its way to the surface causing an involuntary gasp to escape her lip as she leaned away from her victim and into the warm embrace not caring that all eyes were on her.
"Narcissa take your wife, it seems like she had once reopened her wounds and is in need of healing" Voldemort spoke up pausing briefly standing up from his seat looking at the pair before him knowing that the younger of the two would not be able to bear the pain much longer, that and he also did not want her around for what was about to happen
"Bella stay behind, it seems like Mr. Cobbe has offered himself to be entertainment for the night as not only insulting one of my most loyal but also my guest. He will serve as an example for the rest of you who can not remember that while Miss. Granger is present she is to be treated with respect." He strode around the table slowly as Nagini slithered up his legs and around his shoulders seemingly appearing randomly out of thin air.
Not wanting to wait for anything else Narcissa scooped her wife up into her arms in a show of unseen strength leaving the room. There was so much she had wanted to say when it came to Hermione mostly to chastise the girl on taking care of herself better but that would have to wait until she was doing better and not wrapped in bandages.
