Chapter 60: Down With The Sorceress Part 2
Zantor waited for the Sorceress to come at him. His cards flew around him as he waved at her, "When are you going to come again?" He wasn't cocky. He needed to let her use her magic to counter her attacks. It was the best strategy he had in mind in handling her. When it came to magic battle, there was one domain he was an expert at.
The Sorceress sent a lightning blast at him.
The slim dragon put a spell on his cards and moved it around. The blast touched one of the cards and bounced on it. It bounced every card and the last one sent it on her back. He jumped away when she casted another one and called back his cards by his side.
"You accursed dragon," she grunted.
"I told you it wouldn't be the same," he wanted to tell her how good he was, but chose not too. He shouldn't reveal anything about himself.
She casted ice shards and sent them at the dragon, "You won't believe that for long!"
He casted his own spell and the cards were on fire. The ice melted when it touched the cards. He released fireballs from them towards her.
She blocked it with a magic shield and growled at the yellow dragon. She would destroy him at any chances she got.
Meanwhile, the other dragons forced the door to stay closed. They grunted as it became difficult now. The dragons began to slid on the door. Whatever Bruno did on the other side wasn't enough anymore.
Too many Rhynocs were there, ready to crush them.
"Enough with this! Open the door or I'll blow it up myself!" a familiar voice declared furiously, "The Sorceress needs us right now!"
Titan closed his eyes and waited for the moment to give his order. The Peace Keeper felt the enemies were pushing in synchronisation now. That meant that each push was all of them at the same time now, "He's here," he whispered. He gazed at the young purple dragon and the young red dragon, "Go now!"
The two dragons and the dragonfly went away to take cover.
"Okay! Once I give the signal, we split up and let the door open. We strike from both sides," Titan ordered.
"I can't believe that Magnus and Bruno weight wasn't enough to slow them down further," Trondo commented.
Magnus laughed loudly while the other dragon in question took offense.
"You should know… never mind," Bruno stopped his reply as it was the worse time for an argument. That and Nestor warning glare.
"Focus Trondo!" Titan yelled. He took a deep breath. He needed to time this perfectly so they had a chance to torch them first, "Okay. Three. Two. One. Go!"
The dragons split in two groups and back away from both sides.
The Rhynocs pushed the door as the dragons left and they lost their balances. They slid on the ground and felt face first on the ground. They yelled in agony as the dragon's breath fire at the same time from different directions. Hunter fired a few arrows at them.
Many of the enemies were knocked out when the general of the Rhynocs came.
Demitrious face showed up. He was both angry and annoyed at the result and the dragons, "I have enough of your scaly faces!" he took out his sword, "Come at me."
Titan flew in front of him, his axe in his hands, "I'll handle their boss. You take care of his soldiers." He spun his axes and was ready to fight.
The Rhynoc came at him with his sword, but never reached the dragon as the axe was in the way.
The orange dragon smirked as he suddenly twisted it and made the blade slid on the ground. Without wasting a second, he used his fist to punch the face of the general and sent him away.
Demitrious rolled on the ground a few times before he crashed on the wall.
Titan didn't waste a second and charged. He swung his axe, but missed the target that rolled on the ground. He saw the sword coming at his legs and jumped in the air, avoiding the attack. He landed on the ground and blocked the next one. He blocked more coming at him and as the other one attacked quickly with his sword. The dragon knew that the sword man Rhynoc was dangerous as he tried to aim for the vital organs of the dragon.
Demitrious forced the dragon to raise the axe and kicked the gut of the dragon, sending him away. He followed up with a punch in the face, but missed by an inch.
The chief of the Peace Keepers rolled on the ground when another strike came at him and countered with a tail whip. He missed the other one. He jumped back and blocked more. Titan decided to stay on the defensive until he had a chance.
Malefor watched the two battles going on as he brought another Rhynoc down with a fist on his skull. He swung with his tail at one coming behind him. He jumped in the air and swing his tail at the face of another one. He landed on the ground and blocked one trying to hit him with a staff. He broke it with one swipe of his hand and sent him away. He checked on Spyro if he was alright.
The young purple dragon avoided everything coming at him with his speed and using his small size to his advantage. He torched a few who came at him. He had quick reflexes.
The dark purple dragon guessed that it was his experience as a hero showing off. He continued to push them back. He prepared to use his bracelet if it became urgent.
On his side, the small red dragon fought and used his power to torch them away from him. He was protected by Bruno who was at the other side with his staff. Flame dodged a few spears and hammers coming at him and passed under their legs. He turned their behind when he could and tackled a few others.
Bruno blocked a few attacks with his staff and smashed one away. He panted as fighting like that wasn't his strong suit. He wasn't a Peace Keeper. He was a Beast maker. Still, it was for the children. He gasped when he was hit on the face by the metallic part of the spear. Thankfully, it wasn't the sharp part.
Bubba came and made the one who attacked his leader regret his action. With one punch, he sent him on the roof and the Rhynoc was stuck there.
Zantor blocked more spells coming at him. His cards quickly went in the way of any evil magic coming from the ruler of the Forgotten Realm. The dragon didn't think of grinning or mocking her. He knew that this would bite his tail if he showed that kind of attitude at any moment. He dodged the next spell and spun his cards in the air. He focused the energy in the middle of his deck and created a ball of energy. He sent it at her.
The Sorceress quickly casted a shield and the spell exploded against it. She grumbled at how powerful the Magic Crafter was, "I should have made sure the curse would hold on forever!"
"We were far away and your magic isn't eternal," the slim one countered before he casted a few more spells at her.
She protected herself from each of them and turned her shield into a mirror for the last one.
His energy ball came back at him and couldn't protect himself when it blew against his chest. He crashed against a pillar behind him and painfully grumbled.
"It's time to send you back and hopefully, forever!" she casted the same curse that banished the dragons long ago.
Zoe quickly casted her own spell and prevented it from affecting the dragons.
Zantor was quickly on his feet and continued the fight. He never knew mirror magic like that existed, "I have to be more cautious of her magic," he grumbled to himself as he prepared his next spell. He decided to change tactic.
He split his cards and put different spells on each of them. One card was on fire, the other one was made of ice shards and the third one was electric. The others were shields to protect himself. He knew his magic had less power this way, but it was less predictable.
The Sorceress saw the fire coming at her and she blocked it. She managed to use her scepter to protect herself from the ice shards, but never saw the electric chain coming at her until she felt the shock of her life. She almost lost her balance after feeling that in her, "I will crush all of you now!" she furiously yelled as she realised that stupid dragon might defeat her.
It was then that Bianca appeared through the door discreetly. She saw the battle going on and noticed how violent it turned out. The humanoid bunny girl decided to quietly approach the Sorceress. She had a plan to help the dragons, but it was one she improvised. If anyone spotted her, she was done.
The dragons were too busy fighting to notice her except Astor who was at the corner and wacked one Rhynoc who came at him. Halvor was by his side to protect him with his large hammer, but on his own, he couldn't protect him from everyone.
Bianca noticed the dark purple dragon who had greater power than any of the other dragons. He was strong and quick as he beat each of the enemies who came to him with ease.
As she approached the Sorceress, she went near the battle between Demitrious and Titan. She made sure not to get in their way. If she was, they would quickly notice her and put lives in dangers.
Titan blocked the blade coming at him. He swung his axe back at the Rhynoc without effect. The orange dragon put his hand on his gut as he covered a wound he got earlier. He felt the blood coming out of him. He coughed a few times and growled. He jumped back when he saw another slash coming at him.
Bianca dropped down and the dragon stood just above her. She was between his legs and the tail of the dragon almost touched her. She gulped as she thought it was over. She sighed in relief when the dragon charged back at the other one. She stood up and continued her approach.
Spyro saw more bad guys coming at him and was ready. He jumped on the side and rolled on the ground. He heard his dragonfly warning of another one behind him. He lowered his head and pointed his horn forward. He charged with everything he had and sent one of them flying in the air and landed on another one. He slowed down when one was ready to crush him with a large hammer.
Hunter fired an arrow at that Rhynoc who dropped the hammer on his head and was knocked out, "You're okay Spyro!" he yelped when one grabbed him and sent him towards the group of Rhynocs.
"Hunter!" the purple dragon worryingly yelled.
The cheetah suddenly felt like he wasn't falling anymore and wondered what was going on. He realised he was floating in the air.
Zoe sighed, "Just in time," she said near him.
"Thanks Zoe," he replied. He grabbed his remaining arrows and fired at them from above, using his chances to get them without any risk of hurting the dragons.
Magnus grabbed two together and smashed their faces. He dropped them on the ground and aimed at another one. With one swift blow, sent him through the air and the Rhynoc landed on another one.
Trondo blocked many coming with his knives and used everything he could to attack or counter-attack. His head, tail knives and foot. He synchronised with Gunnar as they fought as one. They covered each other's and switched target for who the other one was facing.
As the chaos went on, Bianca reached her destination. She was near the Sorceress as the two magical beings were busing against each other's. The humanoid bunny grabbed her wand and prepared to cast her spell, "This is the right thing to do," she whispered. She already saved Hunter. She quietly casted her spell, aiming at the Sorceress. It was her perfect chance for a surprise attack. She simply hoped it would work. She created a ball of energy and sent it at her.
AC: And Cliff-hanger. Would it hit the Sorceress or not?
Next: It's the third part. The end of the battle against her. Would it end up in victory or not?
For those who are wondering why it isn't Spyro who fight her? Well… In the game there is another fight and Spyro is a child. A capable one, but his dads wouldn't let him fight a powerful boss.
