Atlantis
Two combatants were locked in battle in the city of Atlantis, Both of the individuals were engulfed in lightning from the black trident of dimensions that belonged to Queen Clea of Atlantis 75'00 years ago and was currently being wielded by King Arthur while at the same time, The dark magic came from the spear of his opponent Slizzath (Leader of the giant born).
Slizzath had a silver snake like body, He had 4 arms (2 normal ones covered in dark red stripes, Under his 2 ordinary arms were 2 large lobster like arms with pincers on the end of each one, He had grey hair that went past his shoulders, A red battle helmet was on his head).
The Giant born leader currently had his spear of destruction stabbed all the way through the left side of the King of Atlantis chest whose lung was now punctured while at the same time Arthur had stabbed Slizzath in the chest with the black trident of dimensions.
75'000 years ago
The giant born feud with Atlantis had first begun 75'000 years ago during the reign of Atlantean Queen Clea, A long time before King Atlans existence.
Atlantis had got word that a tyrant known as Slizzath was using his giant born army to wreak havoc & destruction on wooden ships from the surface world that would carry cargo to other countries & they would also attack ships carrying soldiers from various nations that needed the ocean to get across the world.
With this happening it caused major disruption to trade routes which in turn instilled fear into Merchants, Soldiers and Nation leaders to not use the ocean until the giant born were defeated somehow.
This tyranny was not going to be tolerated by Queen Clea of Atlantis, Leader of what would eventually become the7 seas/Kingdoms, She first attempted a diplomatic approach by meeting with Slizzath to negotiate a peace deal with him on behalf of the surface world but it was futile because Slizzath was not interested in bowing down to Atlantis.
Queen Clea told him that she had no intention of making him bow to Atlantis, She just wanted her oceans to be safe for everyone and that his acts of violence was a problem that Atlantis could not ignore any longer.
Slizzath told her that if she wanted him to go away, Brute force would be the only for that to work "Are you declaring war on Atlantis, Slizzath?" "Yes" he replied "You don't want us fighting you, It would not end well for your side" she replied "How do you know that, My army is not to be under estimated" he replied "I am trying to be peaceful here Slizzath, I didn't come here with hostile intentions" Queen Clea replied "Maybe not originally but I have no intention of giving up my oceans" he replied.
Clea eyes became ones of anger "Your Oceans, You mean my Oceans, I am Queen of all Oceans" she replied "You are for now but once I kill you that title is mine and your oceans will belong to me, Now rung along you little bitch & prepare yourselves for war" Slizzath replied "What a fool you are" said Clea.
The Queen walked backwards as the oceans engulfed herself & her personal guards
A week later Atlantis went to war against Slizzath, With it resulting in Atlantis becoming the victors. After Queen Clea defeated Slizzath (Sparing mercy upon him) and his army, She had a prison dimension created in the Azores & imprisoned him and his army inside of it, Shutting the rocky door behind them, Locking them up for eternity.
Engraved in the stone door was the shape of a trident as she then pulled out her black trident of dimensions from the door itself "Goodbye Slizzath, May the gods of Atlantis have mercy on your soul."

A 5 foot 6 woman with blond hair dressed in a purple buttoned up shirt, white t-shirt under it, Blue Jeans, White trainers and green winter coat knocked on the door which was then opened, She was greeted by Mera who was holding 1 year old Arthur curry Jr in her arms "Hi Jennifer, How are you?" the Queen of Atlantis asked
The woman was Jennifer, She had moved from Ohio to Maine in 2009, Her house was not far from Arthurs house which made her their nearest neighbour, She worked in the diner in the nearby town as a chef "I am okay Mera, Hello you adorable little man, How are you and he" Jennifer replied "We are good, I just fed him his breakfast, Please come in, What brings you here so early?" said Mera "It's this newspaper that I came to show you, Is Arthur in?" she asked "Yeah he is just in the garage getting his tools ready, So he can do repairs on the lighthouse beacon itself, I will go get him, Do you want to hold him for me" Mera replied "Sure" Jennifer replied, Taking Arthur Jr from Mera's hands.
Mera went to the garage "Arthur my love, Jennifer is here, Says she needs to speak to us about something" "Jenny is here, Do you know what it is that she wants to talk about" he asked "No but come along and we'll find out".
The two of them walked back into the living room "Hey Jenny, How are you?" "I am good, Arthur, How you doing" "I am alright, Mera told me you have something that you need to talk to us about" said Aquaman, Arthur Jr stretched out his arms to his father as Arthur took him from Jennifer.
Jennifer grabbed the newspaper, Placing it down onto the table "Over the past few weeks, There has been an archaeological dig on Terceira Island in the Azores looking for remnants of items that were left behind during the 15th & 16th century, Yesterday this was discovered instead" Jennifer opened the page of the newspapers.
Arthur & Mera eyes widened at what they saw & looked closer "Is that a stone carving of a" said Mera "Trident, It looks like it fits a different kind of trident, I would have to go to Atlantis and see which one it resembles" said Arthur "Why would Atlantis create something like that onto the surface world?" Mera asked "It must have been for a reason but I won't know until I figure out which trident it is" Arthur replied.
Jennifer then asked "If I may interject, From what you are saying, The trident that you need is a key to whatever this is, That means it is a door and if so maybe whatever is behind that door is meant to be locked away".
Mera nodded her head in agreement "She has a point Arthur" "I agree she does, We have to convene the council & tell them about this, Maybe our historians can tell us why this door was created & what is behind it, Thank you Jennifer for showing us this" said Arthur "You're welcome, I wanted to make sure you knew about this" she replied "Hey if you want to, You can stay and I will make you a hot chocolate if you want?" Mera asked "Thanks for the offer but I got to get to work, I will see you later" said Jennifer as she then left their house

Council room
Arthur and Mera had gathered the council together to inform them of what had been discovered in the Azores. The members of the council consisted of

"I will begin, The reason we have gathered the council today is because over the past few weeks there had been an archaeological excavation on the surface world in a place called the Azores in order to find items from centuries ago, So they could be recovered in order to display them to the general public" said Mera "4 days ago this was found instead" said Arthur, He placed a gold cylinder into a circular port, Thus activating it, The top of the cylinder then displayed the image of the stone carving like a projector.
The council eyes looked on in shock "What would something like that be doing on the surface world?" Tula asked "That is what I am wondering, This stone tablet clearly fits one of the other tridents that was used by a past king or queen but what we need to know is why this exists in the first place" said Mera "(Koah, Kae, Wavi, Rowa), Do you have any information about this, A friend of ours who informed us about this, She theorises that this is a doorway and all it needs now is it's key?" Arthur asked "This is the first we have seen this but your friends suggestion about it being a doorway may be correct" said Rowa "Koah & Kae do the archives mention anything about this door?" Mera asked.
The two historians looked at the image in deep thought "We'll have to delve into the archives and see if we can find anything out about this" said Kae "What if behind that door is something evil that is meant to be locked away" said Neol "He has a point Arthur" said Kahldur "We won't know until the archives are searched through" said Mera "And if nothing comes up then I will have to use the correct trident & unlock that door" said Arthur
Urn voiced his opinion "What about just leaving it as it is, Not knowing might be a better choice, Also we should attempt to try & remove the whole structure from the surface world and bring it down here for safekeeping" "That can't be done, However long this Atlantean structure has been there, It has become part of the Azores itself, If we remove it the whole thing could collapse" said Arthur "Kahldur your task will be to scout the place out, Find out when it is most quiet and what kind of security there is protecting the site, The rest of you know what you need to do, Me and Arthur will now try to see which trident matches this structure" said Mera.
The council disbanded, Mera and Arthur headed for the King & Queen armoury room.
Armoury room
The King & Queen looked through the various tridents of past king & queens of Atlantis "So many here but which one could it be" said Mera "We know that it is a trident with three prongs, So that narrows it down a little" Arthur replied.
It took some time but eventually they found the one they were looking for, Arthur took the trident and matched it with the image of the stone carving "It is definitely that one" said Mera "Queen Clea Black trident of dimensions" Arthur replied, It was at that moment he started to realise that Urn idea of moving the structure would work "It is a dimension and this trident unlocks the door, Urn was right we can move the entire structure and bring it near to Altantis because it won't damage the dimension itself, All we would have to do is remove the outer edges and keep the Atlantean symbol intact but we would need to do it when security is at it's lowest" "Which would be at night time but first let's get everything so we know what we are dealing with" said Mera.

Atlantean council room
"We couldn't find anything, There is no information on why this structure exists, Maybe whatever is inside that dimension is something that Clea didn't want any future king & Queens knowing about" said Rowa "That is understandable but at the same time it is foolish because now with it being discovered and not informing what it was for, It leaves us at a 50-50 on whether to unlock it or not" said Neol "Maybe Clea never expected to be discovered, In her mind she saw it as a secret that would hopefully never be revealed" said Urn "I think we should take a vote" said Arthur "All in favour of unlocking it raise your hands" said Mera
Arthur, Kae, Neol, Wavi and Koah voted to unlock it, (Mera, Kahldur, Rowa, Urn & Tula) voted against it "We are at an impasse" said Mera "What do we do then?" Arthur asked.
Kahldur pulled a coin from his pocket "I kept this just in case we got to this point, Trident side is heads, Atlantean symbol is tails" "We can't decide this on a coin toss" said Tula "Kahldur do it" said Mera
Aqualad flipped the coin into the air.
Azores

Arthur, Tula, Kahldur, Neol & Mera had knocked out the various police officers that had been tasked with protecting the dig site & had destroyed any cameras nearby.
The 5 of them approached the dig site "Just like we planned" said Tula. Arthur used his Quindent, Mera used her water powers and Kahldur used his water bearers to form a hammer as the 3 of them went to work dismantling the outer area of the structure, Of course this did create some noise and would eventually attract attention but if they did this quickly, They could be gone before anyone starts investigating.
The outer areas of the structure gave way, Mera used her water powers to hold the lower parts of the structure and slowly lifted it out, Aqualad & Neol got to work wrapping Atlantean chains around it and then fitted a cargo hook with cables on top of the chains & placed the hook itself onto the centre of those chains to hold it all together "Tula, Make the call" said Arthur.
Tula dialled a number on Arthur phone which was then answered "Ready when you are" "On my way" the voice replied. Ten minutes later a (CH-53E Super Stallion) Helicopter arrived as it then lowered itself down a little.
The man who was flying it was Aaron Cole (a.k.a) the operative, His grandfather was Joshua Cole, The original operative who was a member of the others but was now retired and had passed on the mantle to his grandson.
Mera used her water powers to lift her self up while also holding the sling cables, She attached the cables to the hook that was on the underside of the helicopter and lowered herself down to the ground.
The 5 of them stood away from the vicinity of the helicopter as it's pilot made the helicopter go higher, Lifting the Atlantean structure with it, Once Operative was at a high enough altitude he flew towards the direction of the North Atlantic ocean where Atlantis was.
North Atlantic Ocean
4:00 am
The helicopter lowered the structure down through the hatch of the large Atlantean flagship, The structure eventually made contact with the floor, The Atlanteans detached the cables "Mission accomplished, King Arthur" said an Atlantean soldier. Arthur gave a thumbs up to operative who nodded his head and began to gain altitude, Flying away.
Aquaman jumped down into the hatch, Landing on the floor, The hatch closed automatically above him.
Koah & Kae were now examining the structure to see if there was any markings or text that could solve what was behind the door to this dimension "Clea covered her tracks up very well, There is nothing on here that identifies the history of this thing, Find anything Koah" said Kae "Only thing I have found out is how old this structure is" Koah replied "How old is it?" Neol asked "According to this, 75'000 years old, A very long time before even King Atlan was born".

Aquaman & Mera Flagship
Arthur held the black trident of dimensions and was currently staring at the concrete structure, Behind him were Neol who was armed with a gun, Tula was holding an Atlantean Kunai, Urn had a gun, Aqualad had used his water bearers to form hard water constructs of samurai swords while last of all Mera was armed with two scythes attached to her wrists that were created via her water powers, The 5 of them readied themselves for a fight in case whatever was behind that door was evil
Koah & Kae stood to the side, Waiting for their king to unlock it "Before I do this, You need to know that if this goes bad, I take full responsibility and that the ones that sided with me on opening this are not to be blamed, Do we all have an understanding".
The rest of them nodded their heads in reply.
Aquaman approached the structure & placed the trident into the carving, The carving of the trident & the door itself lit up while at the same time the Atlantean symbol around it lit up in bright blue, A red beam of light blasted through the door which launched the black trident into the air, Koah caught it & threw it back to Arthur who was now backing away from the structure, The beam of light was powerful with it now blasting a hole through the roof of the warship.
Arthur eyes became one of horror "What the hell have I done", A hand reached out through the door, It's fingers gripped the concrete as the individual pulled himself up and out of the dimension "FINALLY WE HAVE BEEN FREED!" said Slizzath "Who are you" asked Arthur.
Slizzath saw the trident in the hands of Arthur "A new king of Atlantis, How long have we been locked up?" "75'000 years" said Kae "75'000" Slizzath replied "Who are you?" Mera asked "My name is Slizzath, I and my army have been locked in that prison for 75'000 years, We went to war against Atlantis and their Queen Clea for control of the seven seas, After she attempted to negotiate a peace deal with us to not attack ships carrying soldiers and cargo that we would steal from for ourselves, I told the bitch that she doesn't get to dictate what I and my army can and can't do, You want to stop me then the only way for that to work is brute force" he replied.
Neol then asked "You lost, So she had you and army locked up for all those years?" "Yes when we lost to Atlantis, Queen Clea imprisoned us but now after so long we are finally free, Thank you king of Atlantis" Slizzath replied.
All of a sudden he pulled out his spear & launched himself towards King Arthur who fought back with the black trident, At the same time the giant born army had now freed themselves as well and began to attack Mera & the rest of them.
The fighting eventually broke out of the ship & into the city, Resulting in Atlantis going to war for a 2nd time against the giant born, Various areas of the city had now become complete chaos.
Atlantean citizens fled for their lives in order to seek safety from the enemy.
The war went on for a few hours, Aquaman & Slizzath were both bloodied and bruised. The King of Atlantis channeled every bit of power that the black trident of dimesions held into making sure he could deliver one last attempt in trying to deliver a killing blow to his adversary, Slizzath had the same idea, His dark magic charged his spear to it's maximum power.
King Arthur swam down towards Slizzath at great velocity, At the same time Slizzath swam upwards towards the king of Atlantis. Screams of rage came fourth from their voices as they then clashed, The black trident of dimensions had now impaled the chest of Slizzath while at that same moment, The leader of the giant born had forced his spear into the left lung of Arthurs, Resulting in the lung being punctured.
Both of the individuals were engulfed in lightning from the black trident of dimensions and dark magic from Slizzath spear of destruction.
The Atlanteans and Giant born had stopped fighting in shock at what was happening in the fight between their two leaders.
King Arthur & Slizzath were now in agony, Both of them screaming in pain at what they had done to each other.
Arthur forced the trident in further, Killing Slizzath who had used the last bit of his strength to pull the spear out which resulted in Arthur letting out a painful scream of even greater magnitude, In doing so it was producing sound waves/Sonic booms and due to this happening underwater, It strengthened them.
Everyone in Atlantis had stopped what they were doing and looked on in (shock, fear & awe) at what was happening to the king of Atlantis
The sound waves were so powerful they were destroying Atlantean buildings, The kingdom itself took damage as well.
Atlantean medical dome for sea creatures
Inside the medical dome Doctor Makaira who was the lead Aquatic veterinarian for underworld creatures was in the middle of healing a large wound on an injured dolphin while her fellow veterinarians and students were busy with the other various sea creatures, The dolphin she was healing then began to react in pain at something, At first Makaira thought it was because she had gone too rough with the healing of the wound but then noticed the other sea life in their care were in pain as well.
All of a sudden the front entrance to the dome shattered as the soundwaves made their way inside, With this happening the full force of the scream became too much for the sea creatures to bare, Blood flowed out of their noses, eyes and ears which resulted in most of them dying.
The veterinarians then saw where the sound waves were coming from as they looked on in horror at what was happening to their king
Xebel
The whole of Xebel looked up in shock at the sound waves that had breached their barriers, Normally the only thing that would be able to get past their barrier were ships that they would destroy and use the parts of to create buildings.
Their homes were literally made up from old ships & Aeroplane wreckage parts, Their city was not like the other kingdoms which were much more vibrant and lively, The Xebellians had to improvise to make their city a livable one "Where is this coming from?" King Nereus asked "My King look" said one of his soldiers.
The king then saw the sea dragons that would be used for his army were being affected as well, A few of them died from the sheer force of the scream.
Kingdom of the brine
The Brine all ran for cover due to the sound waves currently destroying their ships which were now breaking apart, The debris was landing everywhere which resulted in it destroying homes & killing the citizens.
The brine king did as best he could to safeguard & rescue his people, He looked up and saw that one of the military ships that had been destroyed by the soundwaves was about to crash down on a young mother brine crab and her daughter.
He moved quickly, Pushing the two of them out of the way, The ship landed on him instead.
Kingdom of the Fishermen
King Ricou, Queen Rina and their daughter Scales as well as their guards were now laid out on the floor of the throne room, Clutching their heads in pain, Blood flowed out of their eyes & noses.
Ricou head felt like it was about to explode, Taking his hands away from his head, He slowly swam to his daughter and wife to be near them if this was to be their deaths, They would die together "It hurts Father" said Scales "I know but it will be okay, We are here" Ricou replied.
Queen Rina eyes saw what was happening to the city "Ricou look". The King turned his head & saw his kingdom falling apart, Various buildings were now collapsing, Unfortunately his citizens were in the same situation as the royal family.
They were also in excruciating pain and could not move as fast as they normally would, Thus making them unable to avoid the collapsing buildings.
Kingdom of the Trench
The Trench king and his fellow trench were in the same situation as the fisherman kingdom, The noise was becoming too much for them to bear as they laid on the floor.
The king then began to notice the cavern they lived in was shaking violently which meant, He roared loudly, Issuing a command for them all to get up and swim fast before the cave collapsed on them all
The trench got up and swam fast while their king was now pulling some of them up to their feet and handing them off to their fellow brother and sisters to swim out of the cavern, He roared again, Telling them to hurry as most of them were able to get out. Their king was the last one to leave.
Once outside of the now collapsed cave, He and his people saw the soundwaves traveling across the ocean above them.
Antarctica
The soundwaves reached a cavern that was covered in ice, Seven statues stood tall, Each one was of past king & queens of the 7 individual kingdoms when they agreed that
.Atlantis would still be the leading kingdom of the seaven seas
.Xebel
.Lost Nation
.The Deserters
.The brine
.Trench
.Kingdom of the fishermen
The centre statue was that of the king of Atlantis but it was not Atlan nor Queen Clea, It was someone else that resembled Arthur a lot
Underneath the statues was an icy throne with an undead individual sat on it who was entombed in Ice and was wielding an Atlantean sceptre. The sound waves hit the throne itself which resulted in the eyes of the person sitting on the throne, Opening up quickly.
Hearing the scream of pain, The ice that he was entombed in shattered from the power of the sound waves "False king of Atlantis, You have no idea what you have done and I thank you for it, The seven sea will be mine again, I king Atlan will reclaim my throne".
I hope you enjoyed this new chapter which is covering what happened in 2014 with Atlantis and the next chapter will be set in 2015, So that you can see what happened in Arthur life for the remaing two year, All the way to when he & Mera joined the JL
You have most likely noticed that I used the opening scene of JL Extended Edition where Superman scream woke up the motherboxes when in fact this actually happened with Aquaman in the New 52 Death of a King graphic novel, He didn't scream but his telepathic ability to communicate with sea life woke up King Atlan.
Snyder took that moment that was supposed to happen with Aquaman and gave it to Superman instead, I decided to correct that mistake and give that moment back to Aquaman, I am using a lot of the source material to formulate ideas for this story arc of Aquaman and the whole entire story in general.
Like how Snyder based Cavill Superman via Injustice storyline, That is an insult to Superman, Lois Lane isn't his link to humanity, He should not go insane just cuz Lois is dead and that he accidentally murdered her due to the Joker's actions, His parents raised him with good values, They are his link to humanity, Clark is a lot like Steve rogers, Good man with values and sticks to their integrity at what they believe in.
So instead I used New 52 JL origin/JL war movie where the parademons catch superman and then Desaad begins to torture & indoctrinate Superman into being their servant, You saw how he kills Desaad and then tries to fight Batman on Apokolips, He wasn't in control of his own mind due to what Desaad had been doing to him
Also I think my story here is a lot better than what Snyder did with these characters, I showed this fanfic to a few friends of mine and they said this is way better than JL Extended Edition
