Hi everyone! I haven't written in a long time but I am super excited to share this story, I hope you enjoy. The first chapter is super short as it is just an introduction. Feel free to leave a review but please be kind as I have said it's been a while! This story takes place the night that Percy and Annabeth get out of Tartarus. I had recently read House Of Hades and had an idea so I wanted to share it. I rotate POVs so I'm sorry if it gets confusing. I do not own Percy Jackson or the Heroes of Olympus no matter how much I wish I did. Sorry that was a long intro, Let the story begin. :)

Aboard the Argo II on the way to Greece, the seven demigods of the prophecy were sleeping peacefully after the exhausting and terrifying events that had occurred in the House of Hades.
At least most of the heroes were sleeping peacefully.
Annabeth Chase was able to escape her usual onslaught of nightmares due to the fact that her mind was so overworked that it couldn't even attempt to conjure up a nightmare. This was her first good night's sleep in weeks.
However Percy Jackson was not nearly as lucky as Annabeth.
Percy was currently tossing and turning in his bed, plagued with horrific nightmares from his time in Tartarus.
The nightmares consisted of his battle against the empousa Kelli, drinking an endless amount of fire from the phlegathon, and even fighting Tartarus in the flesh.
Although the part of the nightmare that bothered Percy even more than Tartarus himself, was his conversation with the Arai. (the demon ladies who had cursed and nearly killed him).
Every monster he had ever fought had cursed him in one way or another. Percy hadn't realized that until he experienced the curses first hand.
In his dream he could feel the pain in Geryon's middle, then the gorgon's blood poisoning his heart. It was just as painful in the dream as it'd been in real life.
The curse that affected Percy the most by far was Calypso's curse on Annabeth. The guilt of it was overwhelming. Percy had never meant to hurt Calypso. As far as he knew she was supposed to be somewhere in the mortal world living a new life of freedom and happiness. But no, the gods hadn't kept their promise and Calypso blamed Percy for it.
Percy knew he should've made sure that she'd been set free but after battling Kronos and losing so many friends he had honestly forgotten to follow up with the god's promises. Now he wished more than anything that he had double checked. His negligence had caused Annabeth more fear and more pain that she didn't need and on top of that poor Calypso was still trapped on her island prison, alone and thinking it was entirely his fault.
In Percy's nightmare the effects of the Arai's curses became progressively worse, voices and sounds from every monster and being he'd ever killed overwhelmed his mind, screaming and cursing at him and he could do absolutely nothing to stop them.
Percy was shaking violently in his bed, gasping for air as the voices threatened to overtake him. An intense pain in his abdomen flared as a single Ara's voice rose above the rest, cursing him in an ancient language he didn't understand.
Percy was thrashing in his bed, unable to escape the nightmare until he heard Annabeth call his name as if through a loudspeaker in his head.
Her voice snapped him awake, causing him to sit up so fast that his back cracked with a loud pop. His heart was beating rapidly as he tried to catch his breath from the terror inducing nightmares that felt far too real.
