Chapter III: Isaiah 43:18

The night was the time for everyone to sleep.

Especially for high-schoolers considering it was a school night.

But not for this particular group…

For they were the Devils of Kuoh.

Lead by a devilishly beautiful woman with hair as crimson as a rose and eyes as blue as the ocean…

She was a High-Class Devil named Rias Gremory, the Crimson-Haired Princess of Ruin, and the Marquis of the Gremory's House.

And she and her group were on a hunt for a Stray Devil.

This group of five appeared on the outside of the abandoned house.

"Once in a while, there are those who betray their masters, or even kill them, then live however they please. They are Stray Devils," explained her Knight, Yuuto Kiba, to her newly recruited Pawn.

"We've gotten reports that this Stray Devil has been luring people into the abandoned house up ahead and then eating them," continued her Queen, Akeno Himejima, again, to her Pawn.

"Eating?" her newly recruited Pawn, Issei Hyoudou, questioned with a surprised expression.

Rias looked at the abandoned house and also was about to answer the question.

"And our job tonight is to put it- "

Rias was about to finish her sentence, but she was interrupted by a shocking view far in front of her.

On top of the abandoned house was a man being showered with the moonlight.

He was featured with hair as white as snow, skin as dark as mahogany wood, red and black clothing…

…while also being smeared with blood.

She then looked at his left hand and what it was holding…

She could tell for sure but it looked like it was holding some sort of bowling ball or a round bag…

For Rias, it was like seeing a ghost…

And even the distance was far, she could see the man's eyes.

They were the colour of iron.

Rias then couldn't resist blinking…

And in the blink of her eyes, her ghost was gone.

Her Queen took notice of her King's frozen stance.

"Rias, is something wrong?" she asked.

"Akeno… did you see him?" Rias answered with another question.

Akeno then looked in the direction of Rias's focus.

The house's roof, and on top of it was nothing.

"I don't see any man… or anything at all," she answered.

Rias was confused.

Was it just her imagination? Was it really a ghost? Or was he someone important?

She then looked at her Rook, the youngest one there, and the one with the keenest sense of smell

"Koneko, do you smell anything odd? Or maybe anyone?" their leader asked the petite girl.

She then sniffed her surrounding…

There was one scent that she thought was odd…

"Steel…" she muttered.

"Steel? And what else?"

Another sniff from Koneko, and in an instant, she was able to pick a more glaring scent.

"Blood."

Rias knew something was off, and now, she was on to something.

And, hearing that answer sent shivers on the Pawn's spine.

"Let's just enter the house first," ordered their leader.

They walked to the house and opened the door.

What greeted them was the Stray Devil Viser…

Or what was left of her anyways.

And blood, everywhere…

"What… happened here?" Issei asked the others while also trying to hold his gut from spilling out.

"Looks like someone beat us to it, was the Student Council here before us?" Kiba answered and asked another question while looking at Viser's corpse.

"No, if they had been here, they would've informed us because we were the ones that were informed about Viser," said Rias' Queen.

It was truly a gruesome crime scene.

Malformed limbs were scattered, bodies of the victims were gathered on the back, and one thing that stood out for all of them…

A body with no head.

Rias took her steps to said body to take a better look and Akeno accompanied her.

"Her body is still warm… she was killed not too long ago…" Rias examined the headless corpse.

"I wonder… who would do such a thing…" Akeno wondered with heavy breaths coming from her mouth, imagining the person who did this to be someone heartless and cold-blooded to leave a body without a head.

Rias knew her Queen was a sadist… but she never thought she would see someone being turned on in front of a headless corpse.

"Focus, Akeno, and call Sona. Tell her of what happened here," Rias commanded.

"I'm on it, President… but what exactly happened here?" she asked.

None of them knew who or what caused the death of the Stray Devil.

But Rias knew the person who did this…

Or at least, she knew what he looked like…

Her ghost was not an imagination, she confirmed.

"Someone unknown took our prey, and he's in the town that we are governing."

The sky was littered with numerous stars.

It was a view that many wouldn't appreciate.

Especially in a time where most were falling to their dreams, resting for another day.

Inside the suite that the Horsemen occupied, one was looking through the glass that separated the outside and the indoor.

One was the King of Knights and Ruler of Camelot, Arturia Pendragon.

Arturia was still wearing her armour that covered most of her body.

Except for her face that was visible for anyone to see.

Her eyes then were targeted at the view outside, but her mind was somewhere else.

It was a force of habit to her to keep wearing her armour at all times.

Her time in Camelot was a time where she kept her gender hidden for tens of years.

Not only the armour that was worn most of the time, but also her helmet as well.

These lines of thoughts led her to think about many things…

The world she was in.

The reason why she was here.

And the ones she had left behind…

The more she went deeper with her thoughts, the more of the past was being reminisced.

Arturia then went back to the very beginning of everything in her previous life.

It all started with the words of a single individual.

Her Knight of Lamentation was to part ways with the Round Table.

Before he left, he muttered words that shocked not just the King, but her entire followers…

"The King does not understand the hearts of men."

It was more than words, but a curse.

After it was said, everything happened…

All that contributed to the downfall of Camelot.

Distrust.

Betrayal.

Treachery.

Rebellion.

They all happened because of her…

War then appeared.

Not against foreign forces…

But against those that once had fought beside her.

The Holy Lance pierced through the armour of her Knight of Treachery…

Her child.

The King committed filicide.

Her child died in her arms, and after that, nothing was left.

The castle walls were gone…

Her followers, perished.

Her Knights, no longer with her.

The rebellion was the cause of the King's death.

And when she was on the verge to arrive at Avalon…

She made a plea to the World.

To revive all of her subjects…

To revive her once-great Kingdom…

To undone this Hell.

The World then appeared and replied to the King.

It said she was needed for a task in another world entirely…

To be summoned with the others…

To save humanity…

To become the First.

If the task were to be complete, she would have the chance to undo her mistakes.

To the beginning, she would go.

The King, without question, accepted the task.

To save those that needed her and those that she had left behind…

She then was bestowed a marking of white above her left hand.

The White Crown

Thus, she would become Conquest.

"Would you care to join me?" someone said behind her, cutting her from her thoughts and returned her to her newfound reality.

Arturia looked behind her, trying to view who called her when she had been lost in her thoughts.

The one who called was the Witch Queen herself, Scathach of Dun Scaith.

She was holding a couple of glasses and a wine bottle she had just found after searching, gesturing that she needed company for drinking.

She was no longer wearing her purple outfit, but was replaced by a bathrobe…

Just a bathrobe.

"I would, and thank you for the offer," replied the armoured Arturia, who immediately sat down on the couch situated at the centre of the suite they were occupying.

Scathach then followed suit by sitting across her in a relaxed manner and then put the glasses and the wine bottle at the table between them.

"Wine and company of a king, I find that to be a time that can be very… well spent," Scathach said to one in front of her while also pouring the wine to the glasses.

She picked one and let her company took the other.

"A toast to… the new good life," Scathach said while raising her glass, asking Arturia for a toast with her.

"To life itself, the good and bad," Arturia toasted with different words.

They then drank from their respective glass, each sip enjoying the taste of a very expensive liquor that was customary for those that lodged there.

Arturia then thought about the fact there were only two of them that were seated there.

The maiden wasn't with them

"Should we not ask for Jeanne to be here as well? I do not think it is polite for us to accompany each other without her," Arturia stated to her company across.

"Our young maiden is still bathing. Don't worry, she will join us after she's done…" her company answered in a relaxed mood.

"After all, I don't think our maiden is old enough to consume alcohol," Scathach added a fact that could be true about the one missing in this conversation.

Arturia then really thought about it…

Was Jeanne really not old enough?

It was dependant on what country you were in, and yes, for some, Jeanne would probably not be old enough to taste any alcohol beverage.

Both Arturia and Scathach then looked at each other, and soft laughs came out from both of them.

They knew, for some reason, they were thinking of the same thing.

After sharing a laugh, Scathach changed to a more comfortable position by letting her head rest in her left hand and playing with her glass with her right.

She had a lot of questions for the King of Knights in front of her, and this time was as good as any.

"Tell me, King Arturia Pendragon, what do you think of our holy maiden?" she asked Arturia.

"What exactly do you mean by your question, Witch Queen Scathach?" Arturia answered the question with another question.

For Arturia, who honored the code of chivalry, talking about one's bad qualities behind the person in question's back was not a chivalrous thing.

"I mean, what do you think of her journey in her previous life?" she clarified.

It was a big food for Arturia's thought.

Jeanne d'Arc, or Joan of Arc, the Saint of Orleans and the French Holy Maiden.

Had only been a girl living in the countryside in a war-torn country.

Then performed heroic deeds in the battlefield due to the Creator's words whispering her.

Ended with betrayal and being burned at the stake.

A life closely resembling hers…

"An arduous life she once had. If she had been in the era of my ruling, I would've knight her as a Knight of the Round…" Arturia spoke with a soft voice.

"A life of choosing the path of righteousness, and at the end of the path, she was not rewarded…" she continued her monologue.

All of her thoughts could only be summed up in one sentence.

"Fate can be beautifully rewarding yet cruel at the end."

Scathach listened to everything, and there was one odd thing that stood out.

The last sentence was not meant for Jeanne at all.

'How interesting of you, Arturia…' She thought while having another sip of her wine.

"I hold the Saint of Orleans in high regards, especially for her to be chosen as the Horseman of War speaks of her quality," Arturia finished her comments about Jeanne.

It was an abrupt end to her monologue, but Arturia wouldn't let her thoughts be wandered about.

But it made her company more curious.

"And what of your life, Arturia?" Scathach asked a more personal question about the King in front of her.

The King raised an eyebrow with that line of questioning, but it was nothing she couldn't answer.

"It was a life where my ideals as a king were practiced for years, where I met my most wonderful companions… there are great stories about them if you wish for me to tell you," Arturia answered with a normal expression.

"I have no need of their stories, for I am more interested in you…"

Another sip was taken when she said those words.

"Considering we both share the same fate," told the purple-haired woman.

It was something that made Arturia narrowed her eyes.

"And what fate is that?" she asked in a serious manner.

"The fate of those that are human, no longer."

She could only widen her eyes after hearing those words.

For they made her remember about those words

The King doesn't understand the hearts of men.

After being a bit shocked at what the purple-haired woman just said, Arturia slightly laced her face with discontent.

"What are you trying to tell me, Witch?" she asked with a manner that was between serious and accusing.

Scathach knew her company didn't that statement too well, but it was something she had to talk about.

"When I first laid my eyes on you, I could already tell that you walk between the lines of man and the divine…" she explained also with a more serious manner.

Arturia realized that the Witch wasn't talking about Tristan's words.

But about the secret nature of her chosen weapon.

Rhongomyniad.

The Lance that shines to the Ends of the World.

It was something that she had once discussed with the Mage of Flowers.

The risk of choosing it as her preferred weapon rather than the Sword of Promised Victory.

A share of Divinity.

"How can you tell?" asked Arturia.

"I was like you once, a being who turned halfway from human to a Divine Spirit." Scathach added while looking at her glass, reminiscing her past.

The past where she had dwelled in the Land of Shadows…

…where Divinity had run through her veins.

…where all she had wished for was death.

It was also a story that the King of Knights had heard about during her previous life.

"I remember your story now… "Arturia told her and then readying herself to tell it.

"Scathach, the Warrior Queen, whose strength was equal to none, who bathed in the blood of not only man, but beings far more powerful and divine…"

Scathach only closed her eyes, focusing on the story that was being told.

"Her sins for killing them would be atoned by an eternal damnation and exile in the Isle of Skye, where her fortress resided… gazing all those that were damned as well."

Scathach opened her eyes after the story was finished.

"Atone for my sins, how poetic," she commented.

There was one small thing that bugged Arturia's mind after telling it.

"You must be wondering how I, someone who was eternally damned, am sitting in front of you enjoying a delicious glass of wine, are you not?" the purple-haired woman asked, beating Arturia to it.

"I would tell a lie if I said it wasn't on mind…"

The Witch Queen only smirked after her response.

"I shall continue your story then," Scathach added and before telling the continuation of Arturia's story, she took another sip.

"Even after two thousand years, her eyes were still open…"

"Still wishing for either freedom, or the sweet embrace of eternal sleep…"

"Then, the World appeared before her."

"It would grant her what she had been longing for..."

"Mortality."

"The Warrior Queen then agreed without hesitation."

She then showed Arturia the black marking on her left hand.

The Black Scales.

"And thus, she would become Famine."

Scathach ended her story for her audience.

Arturia, who had been listening, was a bit shocked that her storyteller had been alive for two millenniums.

"Divinity can be a blessing and a curse, Arturia…" Scathach told her with utmost seriousness.

"Be careful with it, for it can rob even your mind and will."

It was a warning from someone that had experienced what it was like to live an eternal life.

A warning that also once told by Merlin.

"The light that shines at the ends of the world shall protect you… but beware, for It wishes a vessel to be made whole."

"I guess this is the end for our little conversation," Scathach interrupted Arturia while deep in thought.

Arturia had so much more to ask, and for her company to end their discussion was something she was not hoping.

"I don't understand why we should end it," Arturia said.

"Perhaps, our Pale Rider can explain for he has just returned… with something very peculiar," Scathach gave Arturia the reason while giving her focus to the balcony behind Arturia.

Arturia also looked behind her and saw the Horseman of Death, Emiya.

Emiya opened the glass door that separated the private balcony and the hotel's suite.

When he entered, both Arturia and Scathach could see that he was smeared with blood.

But that wasn't the most surprising thing…

He threw something and it landed on the table that was in between of both women…

A head of an unknown creature.

"I told you that I would give it if there were any, didn't I?" Emiya said with an emotionless expression.

"And what would that be?" Scathach asked the man while narrowing her eyes.

"Signal of danger," he answered, referring to what he'd said before leaving them.

Arturia and Scathach kept looking at the head.

An abomination of a creature that they were discerning to be either a Dead Apostle, a Lycan, or Ghoul.

Arturia stood up and then looked at the man smeared with blood.

"You've got lots of red on you, Emiya. Are you hurt anywhere?" she asked.

"Not mine… now if you'll excuse me, I have to clean myself first before I explain… a lot of things," Emiya answered and then immediately headed straight to the bathroom.

What Emiya didn't know was that it was still occupied.

"Halt, Emiya! Jeanne is..." Arturia tried to stop him.

But she was too late, as Emiya was already in front of the bathroom's door.

He opened the door, which was unlocked.

When he opened it, he was greeted with a very beautiful and pure sight.

There she was, Jeanne d'Arc, the Saint of Orleans, with only a towel covering some of her private parts…

The towel didn't really wrap around her tightly, you see, so it was still very, very revealing.

The Holy Virgin… in bare view in front of a man...

Jeanne was shocked, of course, her face blushed instantly.

Her dumbfounded expression was viewed by the man, mouth hanging and all…

But before she could say anything, Emiya slammed the door hard and it was closed in a fraction of a second.

"Lock the door if you're in the bathroom, Jeanne," Emiya said to the one on the other side of the door with no expression whatsoever.

"Ahhh, yes… I'm sorry…" the one inside the bathroom answered.

He then took a heavy breath and sighed.

'Why does this always happen to me?' he thought while also reminiscing his past life.

Some of his memories were vague to recall, but they could always be triggered to be remembered.

This moment made him remember when he'd experienced the same thing with his former Servant…

Also with a certain twin-tailed magus

Also with a certain purple-haired andshy underclassman…

While Emiya was trying to comprehend his bad luck, the two women there could only watch him stood there like a statue.

"I was trying to tell you, Emiya, but it seems I wasn't fast enough…" Arturia told him.

"Yes… it seems so…" he responded.

The two then watched him step away from the bathroom door and moved toward near them.

"We'll wait for Jeanne then," stated Emiya, who was standing near them while crossing his arms.

"Why don't you just explain this… head while waiting for her?" Scathach asked the blood-smeared man.

"Be patient, Scathach, she should be finished any moment now, and it'd be easier for me to explain with all of us present," he answered calmly.

"So be it, Emiya," stated the purple-haired woman.

Unbeknownst to them, they were addressing each other by their name for the first time.

After a short while, Jeanne stepped out of the bathroom.

She was no longer wearing her battle attire, but instead she wore a white summer dress.

A look fitting for the modern era that also captured 'pureness' and 'innocence' from the maiden.

"I'm truly sorry for earlier, Emiya… I was at fault for not locking the door even though I was occupying it," Jeanne wholeheartedly and sincerely apologized to Emiya with a rather sad and apologetic expression.

Emiya, who was on the receiving end of the apology, couldn't really be mad at her after an apology like that.

"It's… fine, it was my fault as well for not knocking. So, I'm sorry as well…" Emiya responded while also apologetic, even though he was still crossing his arms.

"Of course, all is forgiven…" she shyly replied while blushing and, in her head, she was still very embarrassed.

Jeanne then took a better look at the former Counter Guardian.

He was covered in blood.

All thoughts of the previous accident were gone, and were replaced thoughts of his current state.

"Emiya, what happened to you?! Is that blood?" Jeanne frantically questioned him.

It was shocking because they had arrived to this world for only a couple of hours, and her companion was already looking like he'd been through a war.

"Our Pale Rider here is just about explain his current state, and the nature of this head he has collected," Scathach answered on Emiya's behalf and also pointing at the severed head being placed at the top of the table near them.

Jeanne, again, was shocked.

"My god… why did you bring a severed head here? And what sort of creature even is that?" Jeanne, again, questioned the man.

"I believe you have a lot to explain, Emiya," Arturia, who had been waiting for an explanation, commanded with a serious tone.

Emiya took a breather…

…and another one.

"While I was patrolling, I came across an abandoned house on the outskirts of the town…" he started telling them about what had happened.

"This… thing was there, making the house her nest for her to eat people that she'd captured…" he continued.

"People of all ages… men, women, children…"

His voice sounded calm, but slightly, it was laced with anger… and also regret.

"So, naturally, I took care of her."

Emiya ended his story.

The women there understood his reasons why he would do such a thing to this creature.

"What have you found out about her, other than she was a man-eating creature?" Arturia asked.

"She was a Devil," he answered.

The others could only react by slightly widening their eyes, signifying their shock.

"A… Devil?" Jeanne asked Emiya while still processing what she had just found out.

"Techically, a Stray Devil, who had been a servant for a High-class one. She then left her master, and ended up here, feasting on people, and corrupting herself into an abomination," Emiya added.

Then, he was readying himself to get into the tricky parts.

"This is where it gets complicated…" he stated to the rest, and they granted their sole focus on him.

"For most of her life, she had been human… before she made a pact with the High-class Devil to become his servant, which turned her into one as well." Emiya explained what he'd meant by complicated.

"Using this…" he then threw something small to the Witch Queen who was sitting and listening to him intently.

She easily caught it in mid-air, and then took a look at the object while also showing it to the rest.

A broken chess piece.

"Are you saying these Devils can turn humans into their kind by using a small thing such as a chess piece?" Arturia asked.

Scathach, who was holding it, thought otherwise.

"No, this is something far sinister… its Magical Energy is foreign to me, but I sense its powers are akin to True Magic…" she said while inspecting the chess piece.

True Magic, the highest class of Mystery that surpasses Magecraft and all current sciences of the age they lived in.

To hear those words coming from the Witch was worth more than a look, but their utmost attention.

"The thing you're holding is called an Evil Piece, a device that Devils of the higher classes own to reincarnate other beings into… well, Reincarnated Devils. I picked that up inside her if you're wondering," Emiya answered their concerns about it.

It was a shock that they never had thought to experience.

The Devils, having such power…

For Emiya to know all this, it was a unique experience considering he had been a Counter Guardian that had seen a lot of things beyond imagination.

"Why would they do such a thing?" Jeanne asked in a state of worried and shock at the same time, more and more after she thought about the Devils in this world.

"Population control, making them as servants and other reasons such as those…" he answered the maiden.

The women had been listening to Emiya answering all of their questions, and one of them was turning their hands into fists while doing so.

The gauntlets that the King of Knights were using made a deafening sound for all to hear.

"They are turning humanity into their personal minions…" Arturia voiced her opinion with her tone laced with anger and disgust.

It was their most negative thought after hearing Emiya giving them this piece of information.

But their messenger had another fact he wanted to share.

"The creator is the Beelzebub… one of the Four Great Satans."

Emiya dropped the bombshell on them hard, with them instantly reacted by either widening their eyes or narrowing them.

"The Four…Great… Satans, you say?" Jeanne, who was more than shocked to hear it, asked the man.

All her life, she had only known one Satan existing instead of four like he'd mentioned.

"Beelzebub, Asmodeus, Leviathan… and of course, Lucifer," answered the man.

There were four Satans… and four Horsemen.

"This cannot be a coincidence…" Arturia muttered while processing her thoughts after hearing Emiya's information.

All those in the room clearly heard what the King of Knights had just said.

"Is there something in your mind?" Emiya questioned her.

Arturia gathered her thoughts in order to present them to everyone there and then stood up from her sitting.

"There are four of us that have been summoned here to face some sort of calamity… what if this calamity is the Four Great Satans themselves, and we need to annihilate each of them?" Arturia stated her hypothesis to the other Horsemen.

What Arturia had just stated took their minds for a spin.

It was certainly a sound hypothesis, after all… they were Satans.

It was a no-brainer, but at the same time, they were lacking in information.

"What of other pantheons such as the Olympians, Valhalla, and others?" Scathach questioned the hypothesis.

"Do other realms reincarnate humans into their servants? Or is it just the Devils themselves?" Arturia answered her with another question.

"Not that we know of, and yet, if Devils are turning the Creator's creation into their own kind, doesn't that constitute as 'annihilating humanity' itself? Perhaps, this is what Alaya meant by saving them from extinction," Jeanne voiced her statement in a state of worried, for thinking Devils to be their greatest enemy.

Emiya had been hearing all of them voicing their concerns and worries, and he was leaning to agree with them.

"It's certainly a possibility that we are needed to face Devils, considering we've been summoned in their territory," Emiya, without knowing, informed them with another bombshell.

"What?" all three women loudly voiced their shock to the only man in the room.

Of course, an information that crucial would surprise them.

Arturia, who was fed up with these constant bombshells being thrown by Emiya, was going after him.

"Why have you omitted such a crucial detail? Speaking of which, you never did tell us how you could procure all these vital information in the first place!" Arturia loudly said to him while also pointing her finger at him.

"Don't shoot the messenger, I'm just telling all of them in order… and about getting them…" Emiya answered some of Arturia's question, and as for the last, he thought about what his answer should be.

He gathered all of these by using Structural Analysis on the chess piece he'd got from the Stray Devil.

But should he reveal his cards to them this time?

'Maybe... not just yet…' he thought.

"Long story short… she talked a lot," he said while pointing at the severed head.

Technically, he wasn't lying because the Stray Devil had been talking a lot while facing the former Counter Guardian.

But, as a result, two of the women there came to a conclusion that he'd done torture or something similar.

…especially after seeing him covered in blood.

"I see… I shall ask no further, Emiya," said Arturia, who was also thinking it would be better for her to not know about what he'd done.

"Yes… you've gone through a great deal for us to have this, thank you," added Jeanne, who was also thinking about Emiya's past predicament.

On the other hand, there was one woman who had another idea about Emiya.

Scathach knew, he was hiding something.

For her, Emiya was the most mysterious one there…

…and she'd caught him more than once telling using half-truths and all.

'You once said you were just a third-rate magus from the modern times… and yet you've been named 'Death' and also had been serving Alaya as a Counter Guardian, and now you clearly have something to hide…' the purple-haired woman thought about the man in question.

Suffice to say, Scathach had her focus on the Fourth Horseman from then on.

"Further details will be presented later. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to clean myself up from all this… demon blood…" Emiya said to them while also excusing himself to the bathroom.

The rest had forgotten about Emiya's current state due to being busy from what he'd given to them.

The women looked at the man who was about to enter the bathroom with sad gazes…

They all thought of the same thing…

Being covered in blood certainly felt a bit disgusting.

Emiya then was standing in front of the bathroom's door and opened it.

It was then he was interrupted by someone who had been holding to a glass of wine this entire time of their conversation.

"May I join you?" she said to him in a rather seductive tone.

He would be lying if he said he wasn't surprised…

Emiya then looked back to see who was asking.

The Witch Queen, Scathach, was the one.

The rest was looking at them… while dealing with another shock.

He was thinking of saying a snarky response… but he was really just tired and also was literally smeared with blood... and it was getting sticky as well.

Emiya then faced the bathroom again, and said only one thing.

"No."

With that being said, he entered and then slammed the door so hard, the noise was deafening.

Scathach smirked after being rejected so blatantly, and then took another sip of her wine.

'So he's that kind of man huh… as I have thought, you're very intriguing, Emiya…' the purple-haired woman thought.

She clearly didn't see the other women staring at her rather intently.

The King of Knights only raised an eyebrow to the purple-haired woman, the Saint of Orleans, however, was blushing hard.

Scathach then saw their facial expression, clearly knowing that they wanted to know what she'd meant.

"I was merely jesting," she said to them, and then silence greeted.

After a few moments here and there, they had forgotten about it… a little.

Jeanne thought about it a little more that she should've, whereas Arturia was thinking more about what Emiya had just said to all of them… about the Devils.

But there was also another crucial thing that they were needed to deal with but didn't realize, and Jeanne caught it.

"So… what should we do with the severed head?" said the maiden.

Author Notes II: Thanks for the support! I'm having fun writing this fic, and I hope you keep enjoying it!

Leave your reviews cuz I keep reading them! Some of you don't really want the Four to help Rias and her peerage, and what I wanna say is just that Rias and her peerage will have recurring roles, I guess? I'm still planning things out for the future, but I hope I can finish this fic.

Some of you also love the concept of 'The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse' idea but feel kinda weird about why Jeanne is War and Archer is Death... well, Jeanne is as famous as she is now because Joan of Arc's story is about someone who got thrusted into a war that's been going on for more than a century, so that's why... get it? War because she was in a war? hehe. And as for Archer, well... let's just think... which one of them has the biggest body count (CG basically making genocide every time they appear) so yeah he's Death.
