Chapter 19: Round 3...
As the massive wall of wind slammed into him, Haruko felt the first moments of panic since the battle had started. His ears filled with the roar of the wind, as his armor closed around him to form a protective shell, he had a feeling that this was going to hurt. A moment later, as he slammed into something, and then another, and felt something snap within, he knew he was right.
Haruko…
Haruko wake up…
His eyes snapped open, greeted with a moan as he suppressed the scream that wanted to break out. He looked down, the large chunk of wood sticking out of his stomach having ripped through his armor like it was nothing, several spots of burning agony throughout his body telling him that many things were broken.
"Chomei…" Haruko whispered as his armor opened, letting in fresh air.
I'm sorry...It's too much for me to heal...How unlucky…
Haruko nodded, knowing he didn't need to say anything.
Don't...it's okay...I'll reform one day, it's okay…
He didn't know how Chomei knew what he was thinking, as he hadn't even formed the thoughts. Decades of sharing a mind had taught him to think without thinking when he wanted privacy.
I'm sorry…
'Don't apologize, Chomei...Promise me something?' Haruko thought, as his vision was already fading, the energy to talk simply no longer there. The only positive being that the pain was fading as well...
Of course
'Kill them…'
I planned to, but I promise. Today is their unlucky day.
'...Goodbye Chomei...and thank you.'
I whipped around, staring off in the distance as the sky was nearly turned green from the emission of energy. There was a loud bang that echoed across the flattened landscape, as the ground shook so hard it broke apart, sending pieces flying. I could only look on in horror as the ground shook with every step.
"Oh...he released the Nanabi," Himitsu whispered from beside me.
The massive creature turned, seemingly homing right in on us. Behind it, its wings flitted out, rapidly flapping until the air was filled with a buzzing that was growing louder.

I'll admit that I should have been terrified. It was one thing to face down a Jinchurichi. They were, after all, still human. They moved like a human, they fought like a human, they bled like a human...They died like a human. This was different, however. At over 100 meters tall, the Tailed Beasts were exactly what the event described...Titans. Yet, due to the Gamer's Mind, I didn't feel any fear at all...I almost felt thrilled. As it came towards us, my mind was working a thousand thoughts per second to decide how I would approach this battle.
"Unmei! We need to retreat!" Himitsu says, grabbing my hand. "We can form a plan!"
"No!" I reply, pulling my hand out. "If we can't defeat the 7 tail, we can't defeat Orochimaru."
It took less than a second to level up, dropping the points I'd gotten across all of my stats. As the world unpaused around me, I was already beginning my handseals.
Swift Release: Impossible Speed
The world was still around me, as with a swipe of the Wind coated tanto I'd sliced through the thick trunk of a tree. With the world so slow it hadn't even started dropping when my hand was underneath it. As I applied upwards pressure, I flooded it with Swift Release. The size of the thing resisted, but I had more than enough Chakra for this.
'60 meters, 2 seconds.'
I grabbed it, then, locking in with Chakra as Impossible Speed ended and it was launched upwards, taking me with it. I cleared the tree line almost immediately, and a second later I was reaching the apex of the throw. Even at this height, the Nanabi was massive, and it was still coming. Only a few hundred meters away, we were out of time. I got my feet against the tree, running up the side of it till I was about halfway up it as we crested the limit of the throw. I jumped off, pressing my palms against it, pushing it slightly towards the tailed beast.
'1km, half a second!' I thought, flooding it once more with Swift release.
The air in front of me shattered, the explosion launching me backward as the trunk was flung forward with the speed of an arrow. It smashed into the monster's hulking form sideways, unluckily, but it still knocked it back and onto the ground. The very air vibrated as it roared, forcing its way back to its feet even as broken pieces of carapace slammed into the ground, green gunk flowing freely. I began pulsing Air Release, forming condensed air in front of me as I fell, slowing myself down tremendously. I didn't have the space to slow myself down perfectly, smashing through the branches of a few trees, but I was slow enough that my landing on the ground was safe, minus a few twinges as my body regretted. Somewhere nearby I could feel the boiling of a massive amount of Chakra.
"Hidden Art: Chains Of A Thousand!" Himitsu called out before bright glowing metal chains exploded from her body.
Seemingly with a mind of their own the chains wrapped around the Tailed Beast, even as it struggled to lift off of the ground in flight. I land next to Himitsu, whose red charka is pouring off of her body like a waterfall. Her eyes were burning, her face locked in a snarl of concentration. The Nanabi, its roars, and screeches echoing across the landscape, at last collapses to the ground as the chains tighten even further.
"What is…" I say, before seeing what I had been starting to feel.
At the Nanabi's mouth, a swirling of energy was forming, building, growing bubbling even as its screeches reached a fever pitch. I could feel the chakra within it's attack growing at an alarming rate. It would seem that the creature was putting every last ounce of Chakra it had within the blast.
"Himit-" I began but was cut off even as her Chakra surged around her.
"Hidden Sealing Art!" She cried, even as she dropped to one knee. "Uzumaki Hidden Barrier!"
Several chains splinter off from those holding the creature in place, forming a crisscross pattern around the Nanabi, before some form of energy fills the gaps. The Chains shrunk down till the fields of energy are so concentrated that I couldn't see through them. Just moments pass before there was a massive explosion, the very energy within the chains shaking, as the ground around us rumbles and shakes, nearly knocking us off of our feet. Not a second later the chains shatter into light, disappearing into the air as though they had never existed, as Himitsu collapsed to the ground, her breathing heavy as she gasped for air.
"Himitsu!" I cry out, rushing to her side.
"No!" She gasps out, "Check...The Nanabi!"
I study her for a second before nodding, turning away from her. The ground where the beast had been held down was gone, little more than a crater remaining, the air so thick with dust that it was nearly impossible to see through. Filling the air with Chakra, I get it moving, slowly at first, but then a bit faster as it all clears away. Down down, deep into the crater, the body of the Nanabi rests. Every inch of it seems cracked, it's putrid-smelling blood leaking out, mixing with the meters of dust and dirt it lays in. There is a soft rumble as it tries to move but immediately halts. It would seem that whatever fight it had in it, the damage it had done to itself was more than enough to extinguish.
I glance over as Himitsu steps up next to me, her breathing still heavy. "That nearly killed me…" She whispered. "The damage done to the barrier goes directly against my own Chakra. Were it not for Ku-..."
She pauses, falling silent. I consider asking her to continue, but swiftly decide to let her secrets lie.
"But it didn't. And today you defeated a Tailed Beast." I replied as we watched the massive creature pitifully attempt to move around. "Do you have anyone that can seal it?"
She shakes her head. "Not something at that level, no. Nothing short of a human body could contain it for any time, and anyone older than adolescence would die. My group isn't made of children."
I frown, nodding. "Makes sense. That means we have no choice but to kill it."
"Kill it?" She asks, "You think we can?"
"How much Chakra you have left?" I ask as I study the area around us. "Leaving it alive means Kumo collects it, or perhaps even Konoha. It even worse, it heals and comes for us once more.
"My reserves are coming back. I'll be just fine in about five minutes." She replies. "Why, what are you thinking?"
Ignoring that her chakra refills significantly faster than my own, it still took us half an hour to prepare. Thankfully a few of the Nin in her group were able to dig their way out of their base and join us in the process. Laid out before us were 24 of the largest trees in the area, cut down, the base carved into a sharp point, the top removed, and left flat. A glowing chain wrapped tightly around my waist, lifting me into the air, higher and higher, till I was hanging directly above the crater, the body of the Nanabi a hundred meters below. Another glowing chain grabbed one of the 24 logs, lifting its massive bulk into the air, till it floated point downwards below me.
The chain around my waist rotated, holding me aloft above the top of the log. I reached out, pressing my hands softly against the flat base, slowly pouring Swift Release into it.
'100 Meters, 1 second.' I thought, with the slightest push.
Again the air shattered, as the log was launched downward, myself being pushed back from the force alone. As the log hit, a geyser of greed goo and broken chitan are launched into the air, the scream of the Nanabi below enough to make your teeth hurt. It struggles to move, but the log has pinned it to the ground. The chain moves me to a new position, and another log appears below me.
As I had expected, even this would not be enough to kill it. It would, however, do more than enough to keep it in place.
"Are you ready?" I ask Himitsu, who stands just a meter away.
She nods, raising a hand into the air. Dotted around the crater I see groups of other Nin prepare, slowly moving through handseals, even as I begin my own. A long chain snakes between us all, wrapped tightly around our waists, as the sky begins to darken once more. I bite down, chewing and swallowing two Ninja pills, my body filling with even more Chakra as I pour everything I have into this Jutsu. The Chakra expenditure was massive, depleting me down so low that were it not for the Ninja Pills, I'd almost certainly have died. High above the clouds darken even further, nearly black, as my Chakra begins to make them move. I drop to one knee as I hold the technique steady, pushing the clouds to do my bidding. First one, then another, and another, as tendrils of spinning fury, begin to form high above. The air itself cries out defiance, but I was one in control now.
Hurricane Release: Gale Winds - Furu Tatsumaki
Reaching down like the fingers of God himself to crush that which I direct, the roar increases in pitch as all three crash together above our heads. Trees, brush, everything not held in place begin to be sucked into its fury, creating a spinning wall of debris and death. It's so loud that even the beating of my heart is drowned out, the mass of pure fury slowly reaching down into the crater. Beside me, Himitsu drops her hand, and the sky was alight with fire. Each of the groups of Nin release fire in all its forms, brighter and brighter, pouring their energy into our attack.

The tornado was ablaze as it crashed into the crater, burning, tearing, grinding all that was within. I could feel a sort of giddiness building within me. There was something about knowing that housed within me was the ability for such a level of destruction that it was almost intoxicating. Could anyone, or anything, truly stop me now?

I think the answer is no.
Kumo
"...Min'na?" Uku asked, seeing the tears pour from her eyes.
"Haruko is dead...he released the Nanabi as a last-ditch effort to kill them," Min'na says, wiping her eyes.
Min'na shakes her head. "No...T-they were able to defeat and kill the Nanabi...We need to go see the Kage…"
Konoha
Masayoshi-Kan Uchiha stood atop the Hokage tower as she did every morning, alone, slowly rotating in a circle as her eyes shifted slightly. She had long since taken it upon herself to observe the entirety of Konoha each morning, allowing each of her eyes to see not only that which existed, but that which could both be, and never be. Before her eyes the city was alive, glowing with the energy of those within, shifting as her eyes did. Now the city was grey, the light of death permeating two buildings. She made a mental note to send someone to check on them.
'Likely the elderly, dead in their sleep, or a drunkard consuming a little too much.' She thought. 'Better to be safe than sorry…'
Another shift and the sky was full of the dead, the many lives of those lost, some by her own hand, but the majority by the hands of others. Their memories lived on, baked into the very fabric of reality. She quickly shifted from that, her only true fear laid bare before her. She frowned now, the city before her a barren wasteland, destroyed, pummeled, little but dust left as far as the eye could see. It would seem that what she saw could still become, despite the changes she had already made.
Another shift, the city of lights, a future perhaps, that may never be. Another, time and space secure within Konoha.
On, and on, several times each, as she studied and learned, and prepared.
High above, the sky began to darken, another storm rolling in. As lightning flashed, the rain began to fall.
