Chapter 17 Ready to Go

Natsu continued to punch the punching bag in the dorm training room.

"Damn never seen him like that before,"

"Obviously he's pissed off," Gajeel said.

Natsu continued his assault on the punching bag until it broke, spilling sand everywhere.

"I think that was his 10th punching bag today," Tamaki said, turning to see a pile of broken punching bags everywhere.

Gajeel signed "I'll handle him, you get out of here,"

"Alright, I need to see Mirio anyway," Tamaki nodded as he left the training room.

"Hey Salamander, I think sensei is going to be pissed if you break more training equipment," Gajeel shouted.

"If you're going to try to cheer me up and say we're going to save her. I know that" Natsu told him "That's not what I'm pissed about,"

"You're pissed you let the girl go," Gajeel asked.

Natsu nodded "Yeah,"

"Yeah, it was unlike you to do that. I mean you usually just charge in and take the guy down," Gajeel said.

"I know but I," Natsu clenched his fist. "I thought we should hold back and think of a plan later, but I knew deep down I should have saved her. Why the hell did I do that?"

Gajeel signed "As Glasses said, you and Togata thought it'd be best if you save her at a later time, you know what would've happened if you engaged,"

Natsu nodded "Possibly property damage, and citizens and the girl would have been put in danger,"

"Yeah, you did what you thought was best, it shows you matured and not a headstrong idiot anymore," Gajeel shrugged.

"Still though," Natsu punched the wall "As a Fairy Tail wizard and a hero, How can I allow myself to let someone go and continue to suffer,"

"Salamander," Gajeel said.

"I know shouldn't feel down over a single mistake, but it still hurts knowing Eri is suffering right now," Natsu set up a new punching bag, "That's why," and in a single punch Natsu's punch sent the punching bag to the wall cracking it as it made an impact "I will save her,"

Midoriya was currently doing physical training with his class, and it was noticeable by his classmates that he, Kirishima, Uraraka, and Tsuyu were acting differently.

"Man, the work-study group is going all out," Sato said.

"Just what kind of training have they been doing," Jirou wondered.

"Something happened," Bakugou said. "HEY TELL ME WHAT YOU GUYS DID!" he yelled.

"Sorry we can't," Kirishima shouted.

"Kirishima-Kun, Uraraka-san, Tsu-chan, and I have all been on edge lately since the meeting," Midoriya wiped his cheek. "We've been giving it our all during our training, its to be expected we've been waiting to get any word on Hasskai,"

"I've heard from the other senpai, that Dragneel-senpai was training nonstop since the incident, he, like me and Togata-senpai were completely frustrated with the mistake we made, I've been hearing he, Redfox-senpai, and Marvell-senpai spar hours every night,"

"Though the tension we all had was not unnoticed by our peers,"

Midoriya stares down at his lunch with an intense look, confusing Iida and Todoroki who were eating with him.

"Midoriya, are you alright you haven't eaten yet," Iida said.

"Oh," Midoriya perked "I'm fine, just a lot on my mind,"

"Are you alright," Iida asked again.

"You've been acting weird lately ever since you started work-study," Todoroki pointed out.

Midoriya just stared down at his food, attempting to eat, but it was then Iida held out his hand.

Iida smiled at him "If you ever need someone to talk to I'm here, I mean we're friends right,"

"Huh," Midoriya went wide-eyed a little.

"I mean that's what you told me during internships remember," Iida recalled the conversation. "When I went and did something foolish,"

Midoriya then felt himself crying.

"Midoriya-kun, I'm sorry, are you okay did I offend you?" Iida flailed.

Midoriya wiped his tears "No I'm fine sorry Iida-Kun, thank you and I'm sorry I can't tell you anything confidential. heroes shouldn't cry,

"I disagree, when heroes cry I think that makes them better, it shows they're just like everyone else right," Todoroki slurped his noodles.

Midoriya nodded, agreeing with Todoroki, and it was then something came to mind "Oh, Todoroki-Kun, did you know Dragneel-senpai was acquainted with Endeavor," he swiftly asked, trying to change the conversation.

"Eh," Iida jumped "is that true Todoroki-Kun,"

Todoroki nodded "Yeah, I asked my old man after he trained with us and what Aizawa-sensei told me,"

Flashback

Todoroki was on his phone, he didn't want to but he just for some reason wanted to call his dad, after a few seconds he picked up.

"What is it, Shoto? You hardly call me," Endeavor said.

"I just wanted to ask you, do you know a UA student by the name Natsu Dragneel," Todoroki asked.

"Natsu Dragneel, now that's a name I haven't heard in a while," Endeavor answered.

"So you do know him," Todoroki said.

Endeavor nodded "Yeah, he interned under me during his 1st year. He's hot-headed and stubborn, but that doesn't change the fact that he's strong. If you know his name, then that means you met him, he should be in his 3rd year, right? Then learn what you can from him since you can't do work-study yet, his firepower is probably stronger than mine."

Flashback over

"It seems my old man admits that he is probably stronger than him when it comes to firepower," Todoroki said.

"Wow, even the current number 1 hero admits that a student is stronger than him," Midoriya said, amazed.

"Dragneel-senpai is amazing if he has a top pro hero who respects him,"

"Achoo," Natsu sneezed, putting his sparring session with Gajeel on pause.

"What you got a cold or something now Salamander," Gajeel shouted

"No, Fire Dragon Slayers don't get cold," Natsu retorted "Someone's probably thinking about me,"

"I hope things speed up soon, we need to save that kid," Gajeel and Natsu checked their phones and saw no update.

Wendy nodded walking up to the boys and giving them water "Ryukyu-san and the others still haven't found a strong lead yet,"

"If we don't hurry, then Eri-chan will continue to suffer, and I refuse to let that happen," Natsu clenched his fist.

Days started to go by, the 9 work-study students, all waited impatiently at school. While all the pros on the case continued to investigate and track a strong lead to the Hasskai. Out of all the students, the most impatient were Natsu, Mirio, and Midoriya, they spent their day's training and looking at their phones hoping for something.

It was until one night.

Midoriya's eyes shot open, hearing his cell phone ring. He looked at it and his eyes widened seeing who it was from. He immediately ran down to the lounge and met up with Kirishima, Uraraka, and Tsuyu.

"You guys got it right," Kirishima asked.

The others nodded.

"That means it's time," Uraraka said.

"Right," Midiorya nodded. "It's time to make our move.

Outside, the 3rd year dorm Mirio was staring at his cellphone.

"Mirio," Tamaki walked up to him.

Hado yawned and smiled at them "Let's do our best,"

"That's right," Wendy walked up to them.

"Yeah, let's go save the brat," Gajeel smirked.

Natsu then walked up to Mirio.

"Natsu," Mirio said.

"Let's fix our mistake," Natsu offered his fist "and save Eri-chan,"

Mirio nodded and returned the fist bump.

"Eri-chan we will save you,"

Natsu felt more fired up than ever.

"Just you wait Chisaki, we're going to make you pay for what you're doing,"

It was then in the night sky, it cracked again and out of it appeared small sparks of electricity.
